"Unsure if Sugar Reef Bequia is right for you? Take the hotel’s online “Go or no” test. Guests expecting air-conditioning should stay home. Those who like “dancing with locals and tasting exotic fruits” should book now. Ideal for a grown-up getaway (guests must be 18 or over), the hotel is set on an 18th-century coconut plantation that borders the beach. The estate’s two original buildings hold eight guest quarters. Local fishermen and farmers supply the restaurant with ingredients for dishes such as lobster roti. Get to know the island on a hike with a local historian or over Ti’ Punch with the hotel’s bartender."

"Near the far northeastern tip of Bequia, the Sugar Reef Café is a breezy spot just steps from the crashing sea. Here, diners can enjoy healthy, locally sourced dishes for both lunch and dinner, from fish roti with mango chutney and papaya-black-bean salsa, to blackened chicken and Callaloo lasagna with Caribbean spinach and rosemary. Sugar Reef’s own estate produces the honey and fruit, while St. Vincent farmers and fisherman are responsible for the fresh produce, meat, and fish. The restaurant even uses coconut milk instead of dairy and coconut oil for frying. Daytime is casual, while evening brings a more romantic vibe."

I loved everything about this property. We were up in the French House and it was absolutely magnificent. The staff were just like family. Very warm and welcoming. Great location as roughly 10 mins from town. Great for nature lovers, bird watchers, and hikers. The 360 panoramic views were stunning. Couldn’t have asked for more. Our trip was highlighted because of this place and we absolutely loved it. I will definitely be back. ”

Great view and service. Enjoyed my drinks. The roti was very disappointing. Too heavy on the potatoes and there were no chunks of goat. Flavour was also off

Terrific ambience, great service and food. Worth the short drive from town. Seafood on the waterfront. One of the best on Bequia!

What an amazing place to start a holiday on Bequia! Stayed in the Master Suite and found it to be spacious, comfortable and nicely appointed. Beautiful view of the ocean Judet welcomed us with a nice tour of the house and introductions to the staff. Breakfasts were tasty and ample. Eggs, bacon, toast fresh fruit. Dexter was so helpful with arranging rides to Port Elizabeth and pretty much anything else we needed.

The French House is absolutely AMAZING!!! And Judith was extremely outgoing and super sweet. Love the views!!!! I would rate this place 5 stars all day but I have to only give it 4 stars because there is no air conditioning in the rooms. With that being said, I think the breeze more than makes up for it and I would definitely recommend looking into this place!

We had the best lunches so far on our trip, over two weeks in. The rum punches were delicious. The coconut crusted chicken salad was delicious and the couvalli foccacia was excellent. The service was good and the view was spectacular.
