I had the most enjoyable eyebrows waxing experience in my life. The ambiance is amazing and relaxing and I only had to wait for 5 minutes. Once Angela brought me to the back she gave me a brief introduction to the kind of wax they used and that is less painful than traditional wax (which turned out to be true!). She cleaned my eyebrows nicely and she was super gentle with the tweezers. I will definitely be coming back and would recommend this place to anyone.

4 stars because the British lady at the front wasnt too friendly. I loved the girl who I had the service with, AK. She was friendly, welcoming, & thorough. Thank goodness for her because the other half of the experience was disappointing. I am visiting from Miami so it was a pop in. I arrived at 10a, which was the time of my appointment & the door was locked. The British woman opened the door, rushing without really greeting us. I understood she was in a rush so I didn’t think too much of it. She took another client in, which I assumed was a client she knows & didn’t let me know someone will attend to me, even though it was minutes after 10a. AK then came for me. When I went to check out, the woman at the front did not greet me, ask how the service was, she just said “pay right there”…I had to ask her what my total was. Then I paid & proceeded to walk away from the desk & my cousin that was with me said “thank you, have a nice day” so that triggered her to respond. I just feel like the basic greetings & manners should be considered, especially when you’re late.

I’ve been getting sugared for about a year here. Emily does a wonderful job. I had my first time getting any sort of hair removal for the bikini area. She explained everything and was very nice. The bed is warmed which is comforting and we talk the entire time. I’d definitely recommend!

My experience is from a year ago just posting now because I’ve been to other sugaring salons with no complaints and still so disturbed from this place. I’m surprised this place has as many good reviews as it does. Angela is not very friendly my experience with her sugaring was not very good I toughed it up and finished but she doesn’t even slightly try to make you comfortable when you show discomfort. I let her know this was my first time ever being sugared when checking in and she gave very minimal response to my questions let alone asking if I had any. When it came to actually getting sugared I was in pain she does not have a good technique to make it painless like others do. When I first showed discomfort she was annoyed instead of reassuring or giving me a minute she continued. The second time I showed discomfort she said “we can continue another time if this is too much for you” I think that was the longest sentence she had said to me since I walked in. I sat through it in absolute pain and regret on the verge of tears. I even tipped her because I thought it was me and my intolerance to pain and not her. Thinking back her customer service alone should’ve made me not want to tip her. I felt like it being my first time and needing more time during the appointment to cover all the hair as I was not a returning customer yet was very inconvenient to Angela and she made it be known with her mannerisms and effort. I am writing this review a year later to say the problem was indeed her and nobody else that specializes in removing hair from any part of your body does that. If you’re someone going through these reviews seeing if this should be a place they try I wouldn’t recommend this place for first timers

Simply amazing experience! It was my first time trying sugaring (I usually wax) and thanks to Sugar Spa I will NEVER go back! Aubrey was great! Professional, friendly, made me feel comfortable, relaxed and safe (following COVID cleanliness and all city/state ordinances/laws). The space was very clean, they are only allowing one appointment at a time so that helps you feel safe and comfortable. Even with social distancing, Aubrey still made me feel welcomed, and comfortable which is really important during these times and also because you get pretty intimate really fast! I recommend for first timers, returning customers or anyone who wants to make a change!

I got sugared by Aubrey and she was the best! I was running a little late but she got me in and out SO fast and did an amazing job. It was my first time getting professionally sugared and I’m so impressed at the results (tried waxing at home and it made my skin very red and angry, I’m writing this 2 hours post-sugar and I have no redness, pain, or irritation!), especially with the time constraint. I will definitely be going back and I highly recommend it for anyone who’s interested in getting sugared!

Angela did a phenomenal job with my brows! Normally, waxing brows is super unpleasant for me, but they were so gentle/sugaring seemed to feel better. They also applied some really good skin products too. Can't recommend enough!

Hard to find a real sugaring place in the Bay Area that doesn't cheat you by mixing two methods: hard wax and sugaring. This was my second visit and I had Angela do her magic. She is so quick and thorough. It's very chill and the studio is clean. I'd recommend this place to anyone into sugaring.

Came for a facial with Emily! So happy I did because she's so knowledgeable! She asked me if I was okay with talking or not. But I was okay with talking during my service because I had so many questions about my skin+my skin care routine! She answered all of the questions I had! She's super gentle even with her extractions! But lol I do them to myself and understand the pain that comes with extractions so... if it's too much you can definitely tell them the pain tolerance you're comfortable with! A facial is a luxury service and I feel like everyone should get to experience! Book with Emily! She's my go to girl!

At Sugar Spa, they were super quick and efficient with their service, which was a nice change from the usual waxing routine. The shop itself has this cool, quirky vibe that I really liked. I've been telling all my friends to give sugaring a try. It's gentler and less intimidating for more sensitive areas.

This was my first time getting a sugar wax in my life so I was a bit hesitant and nervous at first but AK made me feel so welcomed and set up a comfortable environment for me. The overall appointment went really smoothly for me. I did the underarms and bikini wax and it took around 45 minutes to complete the whole process but it went by so fast! I am thankful to have a positive experience with my first time waxing with AK! Definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a wax lately!

This was my first sugaring experience and AK was amazing at making me feel comfortable. The process wasn't nearly as painful as a traditional wax and results were amazing. I'm a visitor to the Bay Area, and would definitely visit the shop again when I'm in town.

Had a great experience with Emily, who worked on my arms & underarms. She is knowledgeable, patient, caring and kind! This is only my second time sugaring, after a bad experience the first time. However, Emily gave me all the confidence I needed. The spa itself is quiet and charming, with a lovely vibe. Highly recommend checking this out!

I've been going to Angela for almost a year. I get a Brazilian and she is the best. I've been sugaring for 2 years and had two other techs. So far this is the best experience I've had with the post results. I'm very prone to ingrown hairs but Angela's technique and suggestions have helped a lot.

Let me start by saying this place is amazing! Waxing was always too harsh for my skin so it took me a while to find a sugaring place and I am so glad I stumbled across this place. Aubrey is my go-to person for sugaring and I have been going to her consistently for almost one year. She is very thorough with her work and I have zero complaints of the results I have received from her. She always makes sure you're comfortable because sugaring does hurt a bit as all hair removal does, but Aubrey is excellent at working with you to make it less painful. Aubrey is always very positive and friendly and delivers excellent customer service. She values all her clients and tries her best to accommodate everyone and their needs. She does get booked super quick so if you're thinking of making an appointment, do it! You definitely will not regret it.

I have been coming here to get my legs sugared and it's awesome! I've only had Aubrey sugar my legs before, and I can confidently say she's great; she's really easy to talk to and makes sure you feel comfortable throughout the process. In terms of the actual sugaring, it's a slight sting but bearable. I would say it's similar to ripping off a band aid. The results are very worth though. My legs feel so soft afterwards, and the hair has since grown back thinner and more sparse! It's generally recommended to come every 4-6 weeks, but I've found that since sugaring, I can go much longer without feeling the need to shave! Really glad I found this place and gave sugaring a try. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an alternative way to remove hair, especially since the staff here are also amazing!

I love this place! I've been here for facials and waxes and Angela is awesome. She always makes me feel comfortable, knows when to start up conversation to distract me from a painful extraction or waxing point, and she gives great advice for taking care of skin.after each treatment. It's hard to get an appointment within a week or two so I usually book a few weeks in advance. Pricing is great. I usually drive a half hour to get here but I really enjoy their services and professionalism. Thanks!!!

I had such an amazing experience here! I was curious about sugaring and I found the Sugar Spa through Yelp to try it out. It was a bit nerve-racking when I went in, but Audrey was so warm and open to my questions. It was such a quick, professional experience! It honestly wasn't painful at all -- I didn't flinch once (I'd compare it to ripping off a bandaid). Audrey kept me feeling calm and chatting with her took my mind off of what was going on. The treatment rooms were also a cute shade of pink and had charming decorations. The whole process was way faster than I expected and I'm so pleased with the results. I would definitely come back and I'm telling all of my friends about their services!

First time ever getting a sugar wax and I had unfortunately let my hair grow too long! My babysitter recommended Sugar Spa and it was great. I have always done normal waxing but sugar wax was less painful. Don't get me wrong, it still hurt!! But it hurt a little less. Emily explained the process and aftercare. This is for sure my new waxing go to!!!!

Got a Brazilian done here. Nothing but good things to say about this place! Booking was easy and had lots of appointment times to choose from. Aubrey did my sugaring and explained the process to me before/during/and after. It also helped that she was super sweet and great to chat with during the wax to distract me from the pain. If you're looking to get sugaring done, this is the place to do it!

I booked Emily for my first ever service and she made my experience so fun! I went in nervous and not knowing what to expect, but she was explaining step-by-step from beginning to end and was great and keeping conversation. She also recommended great products to keep my skin smooth and healthy. Definitely booking more in the future!

Parking is a nightmare when you came get in. I've tried to call multiple times to make appointments or ask questions and they don't pick up the phone. I'm too scared to book online since their cancellation policy is so strict but I just want to make sure I'm getting the right thing. They also are booked a month out so I wouldn't be looking to get in anytime soon.

I visited Aubrey for a facial. It was my first time with her and she came recommended to me by a close friend. I have sensitive skin, so am always a bit worried about facials but this one the first one where my skin didn't feel beaten, red, and bruise! My skin was glowing, refreshed and I felt so relaxed! I also learned so much during our short time together and am greatly looking forward to my next appointment with her!

My daughter came home from NY looking for sugaring. She shared that she had switched from waxing to sugaring, but wasn't able to get an appointment before flying home. She researched and found this particular spa. When she came home she said it was a good spot, clean and cute! Two gals who I usually saw monthly for waxing were unavailable - one was on maternity leave and the other had retired - so I thought I'd give sugaring a try. With each subsequent sugaring visit I have been able to space out my visits and get sugared every five or six weeks. Because sugaring draws from the follicle, rather than breaking the hairs at the surface, what grows back is very fine. Needless to say, I'm sold. This morning was my fourth sugaring session. It's not convenient but I will make the drive, which is 30 minutes, for a 15 minute session. There is ample street parking, but avoid lunch and dinner hours because of Castro St restaurants.

I was surprised to find this place while I was in search of a sugaring pace in the Bay Area since I have moved back here from LA. I wanted to make an appointment for a few services, and was able to get on the calendar within a week when I called. The day before my appointment, I was called and told my esthetician was sick so I had to reschedule. They were very nice about it and figured out a way to fit in everything at a time that worked and even offered me a discount for the trouble. When I came in, Qui helped me out and did a very quick yet thorough job! Besides the initial mishap in scheduling, my experience was good. The front of the store is cute; they have an assortment of natural beauty products and books it look at while you wait as well as some water to drink. The rooms themselves weren't much to look at, but it doesn't really matter while you're getting treated. My room was pretty warm though, so they had to turn on the air conditioning and bring in a fan in midway so the sugar didn't get caught on my skin.

Aubrey is amazing. She was recommended to me by a friend when I was having really bad inflammation on my face.   After my first facial/consultation with her, my face already felt ten times better; the redness had gone down, and it felt super hydrated. Aubrey really takes the time to examine your skin, listen to your concerns, and get all the information she needs to recommend the right products. And the products she recommends really work! I've seen many dermatologist and estheticians, but none of them were able to treat and heal my skin like Aubrey. I definitely recommend to go to Aubrey for your skincare needs!

They are not understanding when life happens and you need to cancel last minute. It was out of my control and I just wanted to reschedule my appointment but it was after the 12 hour *suggested* time frame of their cancellation policy ("We ask that.."). I was charged the 50% fee and was told that maybe if I was sick instead they wouldn't charge me. Unfortunately my meeting running later than planned is not a good enough "excuse" to reschedule. I'm just super bummed more than anything. I understand this is a small business doing their best! That's why I chose to make an appointment here in the first place!

This review is long, LONG overdue! I've been coming to Sugar Spa since 2019 and had services with both Angela and Aubrey (who is unfortunately leaving to strike out on her own). Both are incredibly friendly, highly skilled, and all around wonderful. For sugaring, you'll get aftercare recommendations and they're happy to recommend products (not just products they sell in the shop either, nice to know they are giving advice in my best interest and not just to make money). I highly recommending taking their aftercare advice and sticking to it. The work will pay off in your long term results. When I first started going to Sugar Spa I sorta half-committed to an exfoliating and moisturizing routine built on their recommendations. And my results were proportional- I would get ingrowns, the regrowth was just as thick, and I would have breakage. But when I finally fully committed to a consistent routine, I started seeing the differences, like night and day as Angela says! The regrowth now is much thinner, less dense, and comes up very easily during removal (i.e less pain). Angela and Aubrey are both wonderful estheticians and great people. They create a super comfortable and welcoming environment! Thank you both!!

Loved my experience here! First time sugaring and it was SO quick and Qui did a great job easing me into the process. A few days later I can definitely say I won't be getting waxed any longer and will absolutely be back in 4 weeks!

Got Brazilian was for the first time here and Mia was the best . Her breathe in and out technique was the best and she was very careful and made me comfortable through out the process. Rooms are clean and Mia is true professional. It is surely my go to place now.

After years of waxing, I decided to switch over to sugaring. I was pleasantly surprised how much nicer it is to sugar instead of wax. The shop is petite and intimate, which has a nice personal feel. All the gals there are extremely nice, my esthetician is Qui (she's amazing). They also have facial services, I only tried it once, but absolutely would do again. She was thorough but gentle on the extractions, and the products they use are great! Would suggest to as many family + friends who would like sugaring or facials with great customer service!

I'm rather new to the sugaring but this has by far been the best experience that I have had. My esthetician was Mia. She was so great! The venue was small and cozy despite the fact that there was minor construction going on. The experience was great right from the handshake! The room was even cute. Right when I walked in the room it was dim and then brightened when things were about to get sweet! She also used some kind of powder which helped decrease pain. She was very nice and made the experience great! I will most definitely be coming back! I recommend her and this place hands down.

I used to go to Lavender Spa in Fremont for waxing. When I heard that their great staff moved to Mountain View, I had to follow them! Scheduling my appointment online was easy. The spa is clean and has great background music. The front desk person was friendly offered me water or tea. I scheduled a Brazilian Sugaring with Jessica. This was my first time sugaring, but I was optimistic about it. There was still a bit of pain (about the same as waxing), but it was tolerable and Jessica made sure I was okay. She did an excellent job, was very friendly and thorough! The result turned out smoother than waxing, with significantly less bumps and ingrowns. I'm sticking with sugaring and won't go back. I can't recommend Angela at Sugar Spa enough! I've never felt more comfortable than I do here. Let's face it, getting a Brazilian is not anyone's favorite experience but Sugar Spa knows what they're doing, I have yet to be disappointed with the quality or professionalism. Also as a bonus--They sell the entire Herbivore line in their retail area which is convenient because I've been a fan of that line since it started--one stop shop! I moved to the Bay in July of 2019 and I'm so glad I found my new go-to sugar studio!

Lovely place. Clean, simple, modern decor. Dropped in to get my eyebrows done. I was greeted immediately and given an appointment 20 minutes later. Mia greeted me when I came back and showed me to the room. She explained "sugaring" as I'd never tried it. She took her time, checking and re-checking my brows to make sure they were just right. Expect an experience close to waxing without all the negative to waxing. Sugaring is much less hot, no redness after, no hot skin, no ripping feeling, much less painful but takes a bit more time as each "pull" is by hand. Very happy and already made my follow-up appointment. Can't wait to try a facial as well! Thank you Mia!

Aubrey is absolutely amazing for both Brazilian waxes and facials! Aubrey clearly loves what she does and is a wealth of knowledge about sugaring, facial / massage techniques, and skincare. She makes you feel comfortable immediately and is a pleasure to talk to! She is so professional, gentle, and nice and always checks in with me to see how I'm doing. Facials are amazing, do yourself a favor and please get one - you'll keep booking! Booking process is very easy as well. They also carry Botnia a very gentle local skincare line which is great for my skin. Go!

I've been here in the past for sugaring which is great, but just recently went for a facial with Aubrey and I am so looking forward to the next one - so relaxing, exactly what I and my skin needed!

Review is for the facial only. I'm going to lead with the "room for improvement" area because I'm hoping for the business owner to see it and take it into consideration :) -While my mask was setting toward the end of my facial, my esthetician left the room for between 5 and 10 minutes and encouraged me to relax. I have no idea where she went or what she was doing, but it turned my 60 minute facial (that is already essentially a 50 minute facial between undressing and dressing again) into a 40-45 minute facial. If I want to meditate I'd rather do it on my own time than when I'm paying to be pampered. -The extractions portion of my facial was great - but way too short. I asked for more focus around my chin but barely anything was done there. Disappointed by the length of that part of the facial. And the good stuff: -Cute decor and vibe, nice music to clear the head. -My esthetician was friendly and checked in with me during the treatment, but wasn't overly chatty. -Not even remotely pushy about product sales which I really appreciate - my least favorite part of facials is having weird products I don't want pushed on me at the end, but that didn't happen here at all. -Very relaxing facial overall, my ONLY complaints are those listed above. The positive outweighs the negative and I will very likely be back.

This review is solely for their policies which gives the customer hardly any flexibility. The cancelation policy is so strict that they would be willing to wax (sugar) you with no growth of hair at all. If customer loyalty means nothing to them, I am going to move to another place as there are quite some options for sugaring in the peninsula now. I was a regular before they charged me cancelation because I didn't get my back waxed as it literally had no hair. No more though. Found another sugaring place, which I am super happy with! Other than the policies, Mia specifically is great. Very nice and friendly and tries her best to make you feel comfortable and reduce the pain.

Sugar Spa is INCREDIBLE, I can't recommend Aubrey enough. She is so knowledgeable and kind and makes you feel comfortable whether you're getting a Brazilian or a facial. The facial is customized to your skin needs and they use all-natural ingredients at a fair price - my skin has never felt beetter. Their waxing services are also top-notch and sugaring definitely beats regular waxing. If you choose to go here, book with Aubrey!! She is amazing and the absolute best, I've never felt more comfortable or welcome.

First time here and just saw this spa when my husband and I were walking around downtown. I googled them and read a lot of good reviews so I decided to book an appointment and gave it a try. Mia was great! She's friendly and sweet! Told her it was my first time to do sugaring (coz I was used to waxing my underarms) she said sugaring is good for skin than waxing! And yea it's true! After the procedure I felt my underarms were smooth! Pro: she gave me a discount since I was a first time client and because I only had few strands of hair on my underarms (for 2 months) and they were pretty thin haha! Thanks again Mia! See you in a month!

Yelp removed the photo of my skin damage done by this company which is a shame because sometimes customers need to SEE the wrongness of companies rather than just writing words in a review. It took me months and money to repair the damage done by Sugar Spa.

Received a facial from Aubrey and she was fantastic! Lucky enough to have her take the time to explain what products were being used and why. I was able to walk out of there not only with a glowing face but also knowledge on how to improve my skin care routine without the product push, which makes me want to return for the entire informative and relaxing experience.

This place is fantastic! I popped in here on a whim on my lunch break for a quick eyebrow treatment, and was absolutely impressed! The facility is so clean and styled well, you can really see that they care about your experience from the moment you walk through the door. I have always just done eyebrow threading, but this feels luxurious by comparison and is definitely worth the few extra dollars!

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this spot already. Maybe I'm afraid that the secret will get out that this is the best place to take care of your unwanted hairs. I've been coming here for a little over a year ever since I became interested in sugaring over waxing. I always ask for Angela, but I've also worked with Qi and she's great too. I feel like I'm in and out so fast. They're so easy to work with, super laid back. That's a good thing when you're vulnerable and exposed, if you know what I mean. Anyway, needless to say, I'll never go anywhere else ever since I found this place. But if anyone else asks, this place sucks, especially on Saturdays, so don't come here because I hate that I have to schedule weeks in advance.
