Good pizza with awkward, uncomfortable service. Also pricey for the size of pizza you get! Price is equivalent to a nice, sitdown, Italian restaurant.
Interior is casual, small with a few booths. Despite the lovely weather outside, patio was not set up.
As soon as we were presented with the menus, the male waiter asked us if we wanted drinks like beer or wine. Seeing how we just sat down and didn't even have a chance to look at the options, I asked for water and was given the option of flat/sparkling. When I said if tap water was available, waiter retorted, "These are upscale pizzas and they have to be enjoyed with nice water", something along those lines. Completely inappropriate and basically set the tone of our meal.
This comment kinda made our party uncomfortable to the point where we discussed leaving and just getting takeout. We just decided to stay since we were already seated.
I asked for more time with the menu and buddy came back in less than 2-3 mins. He seemed anxious just to get our orders in!
After we ordered our pizzas, he asked if we wanted truffle shavings on top. Yet again, more upselling. Nothing wrong with it, but there's a way to do it without sounding like a used car salesman.
The older lady who brought the pizzas to our table seemed very sweet. We asked her for cutlery, especially for the Napoli style thin crust and she apologetically brought them over immediately.
Pizzas were good. Again, no complaints there. Waiter said they were "personal sized ", but personally, I wouldn't be able to finish that on my own so it's shareable btw 2 people.
After our pizzas were done, the waiter tried to push the desserts. We didn't feel like it or comfortable staying for much longer than it took for us to finish the meal.
Start to finish, it was all about upselling. And honestly, it didn't make me want to spend additional money or time. I was offended enough by the comment about the establishment serving "fancy pizza" requiring for patrons to shell out for bottled water. Please just be normal and serve tab water at the table, sans upselling, and you'll find customers naturally wanting to order alcohol, overpriced water/cans of pop, dessert without any prompting whatsoever.
It's a shame about the service because the pizza was good!
