Great place to stay but there is a very steep hill to walk from centre so taxi is advisable and not expensive

It's the best hotel ever. The rooms look so rustic. They have a stove and fridge so if your planning to stay for a long period of time and not wanting to eat out all the time, you can buy groceries and cook. They do supply you with dishes pots and pans ect... is a quiet little place that you relax well. It a 5 min walk or so to the downtown. The only thing is is that there are hills around the city, but you go back to the hotel is a work out

The room is tidy and clean, the facilities are complete, and there is a safe open-air parking lot. Park your car and walk to the city center is a good choice. Highly recommended

Think the best authentic hotel in Mexico. The hotel is located in an old building five minutes walk from the old town. The hotel has its own closed free parking. Very polite and helpful staff. We got rooms on the second floor, from where there was an entrance from a huge terrace with a beautiful view of the city. We had a huge two-room suite in which everything was very old, but very beautiful and clean. Getting into the room it seems that everything has been done for you, very cozy and comfortable, at the same time feeling the spirit of Mexico in every corner. Never before or after, during our trip to Mexico, we have not seen anything like it. From the center to the hotel you will have to climb up a rather steep ascent.

I stayed here with my 2 kids, one adult and one teen. I was a little skeptical because of the low price but I was pleasantly surprised. First of all they let me check in early which was great because we were exhausted from the trip, and then they held my luggage for hours because my flight was at night, I had room 4, which by the way is not a room, it's like a little apartment with one bedroom with a walk in closet and a bathroom, a living room with a chimney and a kitchenette and a balcony with an amazing view. There's a desk and a small flat screen t.v. The people on the reception were very helpful and nice. The courtyard is very pretty with lots of colorful flowers and a water fountain. I walked around asking questions and no one seemed to be annoyed by my curiosity. The location is great, very close to the centro, where the beautiful church "San Miguel Arcargel" and the park are, the only thing is the street us uphill. I took a cab most of the time, I paid 2.50 (dollars) totally worth it. Suites Santo Domingo is close to everything. We had coffee for the coffee maker every day, free of charge. they had basics in the fridge for a very small fee, also free water bottles. Clean towel and toiletries every day. The maid will do your dishes for 30 pesos (less than 2 dollars) I loved it, I didn't want to leave.

Excellent hotel, we really loved this place. Not modern but any stretch but very comfy and rustic in all the good ways. The views are amazing from here. The property is very large, we had a huge yard out front. Plus a terrace to sit on above our unit. Much better choice than many of the other over priced hotels in SMA. Oh only downside is the internet is awful, I really hope they improve on that as you will not be able to work remotely at all.

We stayed for 16 days in a cozy 2 room suite with 1 bedroom, sitting area and small kitchenette with a gas cooktop, refrigerator and microwave. Next year we reserved a larger 1 bedroom with a private patio largely because of how wonderful the staff is and their attention to detail. We had daily cleaning provided, and they even had fresh flower arrangements in the rooms.|We enjoyed the common areas including a patio on our second level, and an interior patio/garden sitting area on the main level. We met other guests from Europe, Canada and the US, and enjoyed sharing travel and other experiences.|One word of caution - Suites Santo Domingo is located on a steep hill which we walked everyday to get to the Centro district and the Jardin. We are in our 70's, and in decent health, but still would pause 1 or 2 times. This is not a negative comment about Suites Santo Domingo, just an advisory.

Nice place, not luxurious. Good kitchenette. I spent 2 weeks at Habla Hispana Spanish school(great school by the way) and ate in my room. The hotel is no more than a 10 minute walk from the city center. The hotel is up a hill on a cobblestone street, so bring good shoes. Going down was pleasant, uphill not so much, especially at higher altitudes. Friendly front desk staff.
