The location is ideal in the heart of Sete and overlooking the Royal Canal. Our suite/apartment was stylish, clean, quiet and generally well appointed for a short stay. But we felt like we had an absentee landlord. There were some maintenance and management issues that were a bit annoying.||Parking, a few hundred yards away in the underground Port Parking is acceptable and the only practical solution in a city that wasn't built for heavy automobile traffic.||The establishment's literature indicating that the rooms are accessible by stairs is an understatement! Our second floor room was up 52 mostly spiral stairs, the upper half dozen rather slippery. These quarters are definitely not suitable for anyone with a disability or a limited capacity climbing up and down this extensive run. We managed, but barely.||We arrived on a Sunday, and we hadn't seen two e-mails that morning while we were in transit about access. Fortunately, it was a sunny afternoon and several young people, who may or may not have been affiliated with the adjacent restaurant assisted us in opening the entrance, securing our key and helping us get our luggage some 30+|feet into the sky.||The e-mail offer to have breakfast in our room was kind, but we responded we would prefer to come down and have breakfast at a/their restaurant. But, the restaurant was closed on Monday.||As to house keeping issues, there are two attractive mini-balconies. To keep the street and sky light out, there are two floor to ceiling shades. The one on the right had a roller. The one on the left didn't. The shade came down and wouldn't go up.||It's housekeeping 101 to have several rolls of toilet paper. They didn't. Fortunately, we travel with a spare. The closet had 4 cheap and mixed hangars. Unsatisfactory for a $200/night abode. We were unable to get the television working with a rather strange remote. There was no change of towels or cleaning of the room on the second day, and perhaps that was their standard-although not spelled out.||Throughout the correspondence with them, it was unclear where we should check in or out. After we got our bags down in the morning, and skirting the dog deposits on their front mat, the restaurant was still not open. I called the "problem" number and met a lady, perhaps a maid, on the first floor behind the "Prive" door, who was able to take our payment.||Would we stay here gain? Probably not. For someone younger, with less luggage, and less annoyed by the garret stairs, the charm might outweigh the drawbacks.
