On a Weeklong Tiger Safari, Big Cats and Conservation Go Hand in Hand | Condé Nast Traveler

"On the first leg of our trip we stayed at Suján Jawai, a tented camp about three hours south of Jodhpur surrounded by reforested farmland where big cats—including active wild leopards—as well as antelopes and wild boars have returned; Suján’s anti-poaching success and push toward sustainability are precisely the kinds of initiatives our guide wanted to support." - Mary Holland

The Best Hotels and Resorts in Asia: The Gold List 2025

"At Suján Jawai, even the sleepiest of heads will find it hard to resist rising early and hopping into an open-top jeep to bounce over ancient granite rocks in search of Rajasthan's wild leopards. Rewilding efforts have helped to protect a rare balance here, where humans and animals live in harmony and mutual respect without conflict. The camp has sleek, uncluttered tents and a pool for cooling post-safari dips. Hearty, healthy food is made with ingredients from local farms and the camp’s kitchen gardens, and tales of the day’s leopard sightings are recounted over G&Ts by the campfire. Hearing the low rumbling call of a leopard reverberating off the rocks in the darkness, you’ll realize there are fewer more magical settings than this. From $1,490. —Nicola Chilton" - CNT Editors

After our stay at the Sujan Serai, we stayed here for 3 nights||Both camps offer high quality accommodations, spacious tents, perfectly maintained by housekeeping. Both have a great remote location.||Dinner under the the stars is always a great experience to end your day||There are a few differences between both places.|Jawai offers more active choices. Game drives, hiking… Serai is more the relaxing option. ||We found the food clearly better at the Serai. We also had an interesting talk with the manager. After some improvements Jawai will certainly reach the high level of the Serai||The game drives were great. Many thanks to our motivated and friendly guide Akansha Mishra

this lodge ticked all the boxes and was a perfect stay.|the tents are extremely comfortable, with a modern design, large bed and excellent shower. Food is really fine dining. staff is perfect and professional.|Our guide (Sid) was excellent. We had some sightings but most were quite far. if you’ve done safaris in Kenya, Tanzania or South Africa. This is a whole other league. But our drives were fun and exciting ! And landscape is lovely !

Ideally any rooms should be allowed with a child with either extra bed charges or extra charges of a child without bed if the space is a limitation which doesn’t seem to be a case with this property. the property to follow international hospitality policies.

SUJÁN Jawai is an amazing experience in a truly unique setting. The tents were beautifully designed and spacious, with nice terraces. The included drives were very good, we had a great guide (Siddarth) and very talented driver (Kapil) - we were very happy with our leopard sightings. The layout of the common areas (library, bar, dining, etc.) was a bit strange and disjointed (it’s much better at the sister property in Ranthambore). Swimming pool was very pleasant. All the staff were well trained and friendly. Food and drinks were very good, but we would have liked more Indian options (e.g. dosa for breakfast) to balance out the extensive international options. Cocktails were OK, but not cold enough.

A truly outstanding experience and camp. The environs, ambience, service and food were all sublime. This property is slightly remote - which is a joy, although it perfectly dissects the journey from Jodhpur to Udaipur or vv. The welcome, care and relaxed atmosphere is so calming and this wilderness is the perfect balance to hectic cities. This camp has the best staff I have encountered in 25 years of travelling. Their relaxed smiles, expertise and uncomplicated ease of service is a very well balanced and winning formula. Thankyou.
