Sukuh Temple

Historical tourist destination in the eastern city of Solo. The layout is quite good & neat, the temple site is well maintained. The place is at the height of the cool Mt. Lawu valley. tickets are very affordable. Hopefully it can be maintained and sustainable.

Beautiful and unique temple with it's history. Cheap ticket, lots of greens to refresh your eyes, the wind is cold, I recommend you to wear your jacket. There is food stalls around the template with amazing steep view mountain. Recommended

If you are traveling from Solo, the temple is reachable in one hour, give or take, riding a motorcycle, or you can also rent a car with a driver if you are looking for a more relaxed trip which will allow you to enjoy the view of surrounding rice terraces and tea plantations. So clean and fresh 👍🏻

A quiet place away from the crowds. This temple is very interesting to visit, because the place is clean, beautiful and well maintained even though there are some temple buildings that are damaged. This place can be used as an alternative visiting place for those of you who love archaeology.

I wonder what the real history is behind this ancient building. Similarity in shapes with the Mayan temples is too obvious. I personally think the reconstruction of the temple was too rushed, the story on the stone relief looks disjointed, some statues looked randomly placed. Sayang banget! Such a great history, from a great nation. The road going to Sukuh was a tough one, very steep. Good thing we decided to book a car with a guide, we wouldnt make it on motorbikes.

It supposed to be great place but the ticketing guy is a crook, he knew I’m not a Javanese and he tried to charge me 50,000 rupiah for two! Although on the ticket written 7,000 rupiahs, bad move! The temple is great and preserved well but just like anywhere in Java where the site isn’t much appreciated, loud voice of the visitors, bunch of ladies that not well behaved, taking pictures seems like more important than appreciating the religious aspect of the site
