Sultan Hamit Hotel

We were satisfied with our stay during our trip to Istanbul. Major attractions like Sultanahmet, Hagia sopia, topkapi palace and basilica cistern are within walkable distances. The staff especially all three reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but equipped with a small fridge, locker, and coffee. What we really loved was that they offer us two free water bottles everyday; something that not every hotels offer. They even offer free snacks during the early evening hours. Getting to Galatta bridge is through the tram line T1 which requires a 10 min walk to the tram station. Highly recommended!

Great location, incredible staff, wonderful breakfast - the best value in Istanbul. This place was an amazing find - the staff was beyond accommodating and wonderful. We arrived at 8AM and they stored our bags and welcomed us to the daily breakfast. They even dropped off a fruit plate to our room in the evening after we checked in. You're not booking the Ritz here, but the amazing breakfast, the wonderful staff, the price, and the location make this an obvious choice for me the next time I'm in Istanbul.

Special credit must be given to the two wonderful ladies at the Reception desk, who seem to manage the hotel extremely well. Always smiling, cheerful and friendly. In fact all the staff are excellent. The bed is very comfortable, nice towels and toiletries and the rooms are cleaned every day. For a long stay (a week) I recommend an upper room with sea view, as the other rooms are smaller than they appear on the website. The soundproofing is not brilliant between the floors and the room and the corridor. And people nowadays are not respectful of their fellow guests unfortunately, talking loudly on their phones and in the corridors. But to more positive things.... breakfast was good (again the Breakfast attendant lady was great). The location is excellent near the main sites and there is a taxi rank close by. We last went to Istanbul 15 years ago..... prices have risen dramatically, especially the restaurants and major sites, but we are very happy to recommend this hotel.

The hotel is obviously priced comparably cheaper than other hotels and it was stated it is a 3 star hotel so I was not expecting 5 star rooms. That being said, I wouldn’t stay there again. There was a foul sewerage smell coming from the shower drain, and I note other guests have mentioned this in their reviews. This needs to be fixed immediately and is unacceptable in my opinion. At certain times of the day you cannot use the toilet or shower due to the smell. Additionally the towels provided were no longer white and more of yellow colour with many stains. You would not want to use this after a shower. The carpet was highly stained. The breakfast was actually pretty good. The staff at reception and the breakfast area were quick and attentive and arranged airport transport for us. The room size could barely fit two people, although they listed the size on the website. The photos are definitely deceiving; some images show larger rooms for the room you are booking, when obviously it is not the case. If you opened two suitcases in the room, you literally couldn’t walk around. Overall disappointed with this booking. Would not recommend.

Very nice stay. The staff was incredibly nice helpful and very caring. The room was clean and nice. Breakfast was very complete (except for fruit of bread options) and the schedule was also perfectly oriented for tourist attractions. The hotel could not be nearer to the main important buildings, Topkapi palace, Santa Sofía, The blue Mosque… The hotel was quite new but the fridge was not working properly and made a lot of noise at night. Overall it was a very nice and pleasant stay. If you come to Instambul I would strongly recommend this hotel for your stay. Although I think the rooms are not suitable for more than a couple, if you come with kids it will be necessary to book a bigger room (I do not know if they have it)

The room was very clean, the breakfast was awesome with a lot of choices, the location was perfect, positioning you close to the most important attractions. The staff was extraordinary and kind. I really recommend staying at this hotel and if we will be back in Istanbul we will surely stay at the same hotel.

Absolutely fabulous 5 nights in this hotel. The rooms were great and we were lucky enough to be moved to a room with a sauna! The receptionists were super helpful, kind and nothing was too much bother. Everyone we met in Fatih area were so friendly and our 5 year old grandson was treated like a prince. Upon leaving the hotel we asked for a taxi to pick us up and as it was so early they offered sandwiches which we gratefully said yes to. These turned out to be whole baguettes for all of us. So so kind, we would love to go back some time in the future.
