Sumathi

The best Indian restaurant that I have ever been too. The food was the right temperature, spice level, and freshness. It was enough food for at least 3 total meals. I had a good mixed drink as well with coconut rum.

After a 10+ hour trip from San Francisco, we stopped at Sumathi for Indian food. South Indian dishes are only on Sundays, but the owner still checked if they could make a dosa for me, which was very kind. We ordered matar paneer and rotis, which tasted home-cooked and comforting. The chai was amazing; we ended up ordering a second one. The host was friendly and speaks multiple languages. They also went above & beyond and helped arrange a taxi right outside the restaurant to take us to the water taxi station, which was very convenient. Only minor downside was that he got a bit too chatty and made comments about how much we ate & my body/weight, which felt unnecessary. Otherwise, good food and a warm experience overall.

The food is outstanding! I always look forward to eating here when we come to Belize City. Tried the Rogan Josh. The lamb was tender and flavorful. Looking forward to the next time!

Have been eating here for ages, and I can not express enough how the food has elevated my soul into a new universe. I'm positive I've gained over 30 pounds since eating here, very good food, highly recommend

If You’re looking for a really great Indian restaurant in Belize City this is it the food was amazing. Family run restaurant and you could taste it in the food the staff was great I highly recommend it if you’re looking for something a little different in Belize City don’t miss out

Very good and authentic Indian food. The service is terrible. I believe it is a family business and some members are not interested in working in the restaurant.

Great vegetarian options and very generous portion sizes. Easy 14 min walk from our accommodations.
