I absolutely love this store! Especially their amazing handmade jewelry selection. The price range is great for gifts, plenty to choose from for any occasion or budget. This is my go to shop for everything gift and occasionally myself.

Super great (and funny!) gifts and the jewelry is unique--all locally! The staff is amazingly helpful. I never realized how interesting/cool jewelry was, or the way to look at it as an investment in artwork. I know about the necklace I bought. I found gifts for everyone-- from my girlfriend to ridiculous cousin.

Sumi's is a great place to stop by and pick up a nice gift for a friend or loved one. They have many quality items with reasonable prices. I had both of my gifts wrapped which I was offered and a bonus since gift wrapping is not my best skill. I will definitely return. Thanks Again Sumi's Cheers!

If you are looking to treat yourself or someone you love with a memorable handcrafted gift, this is the place. I have bought gifts for friends and family including earrings for my mother that she loved and received many compliments from wearing (she is hard to shop for too!) I bought some beautiful pewter cuff links in the shape of our great state of California for my beau and a thoughtful card- of which they have a really nice selection. I love the newer location in Los Feliz because the interior has much more character like the gifts they sell. The jewelry really stands out as, carefully selected and unique. Hope I get a gift from Sumi's too!

Sumi's is an absolutely charming gift store located on Vemont, just a few stores down from the Figaro Bistrot. The owner, Sumi, keeps a large, but very well curated shop. You will find a wide range of gifts, at very reasonable prices. Some of these items include small ceramic pieces such as vases and small dishes suitable for stashing jewelry or other trinkets, crocheted animals and artistically designed maps of cities. I have also enjoyed the handmade soaps and other lovely, fragrant body products. I have often admired the jewelry on display, made by artisans running small businesses. There are a number of very interesting pieces: a gold/silver duo-tone necklace recently caught my eye and there are a number of pieces using labradorite and other less "mainstream" stones. As someone who write people frequently via snail mail, I have come to rely on Sumi's as one of my primary supplier of cards. Regardless of when I shop, I always find something that either a) cracks me up or b) is perfect for a message to a particular friend of family member. You will also find cute stuffed animals, scarves, posters, naughty cross-stitch patterns and more. Sumi's has a gift for just about anyone. Sumi and the other staff members have been universally friendly and willing to chat about various pieces they carry in the store. If you are shopping for presents, I would highly recommend a visit.

Very rude owner. The way I saw her talk to people was so out of line. Just because you dont understand the laws in this country doesn't mean you have to treat others the way that you did.

Walked into this store on Dec 31, 2024 and loved it!! This store is so unique and everything is carefully curated. Affordable prices and friendly saleswoman. Will surely be back to buy one on a kind presents for friends. I think this store adds extra class to this Vermont Street shopping district.

This store is filled with beautiful, eclectic gift ideas for your loved ones and your self. The jewelry is made by local artists and is quite stunning to behold and to wear. I didn't even know I wanted any jewelry until I saw the pieces in here. A friend of mine treats herself to a handbag here once a year. The staff is friendly and helpful. I don't shop here as often as I'd like because I'm trying to save money. But if I ever won the lottery...I'd probably be in here early and often.

A beautiful gift shop with fantastically unique pieces for your every need. I dropped in here after brunch and had a lovely time looking around the store and admiring all their items. Their jewelry is made my local artists and there is a great combination of both elegant and casual pieces. I initially walked in with little to no intention of purchasing anything, but I walked out with an awesome gift for my sister who is going off to college next month. The ladies working that day were helpful and friendly, and didn't seem to mind that we spent so much time touching everything and ooh'ing and aah'ing. Although the store appears quite "girly", boyfriend even found a gift for his boss here! He was happy with his purchase as well. I will keep this store in mind the next time I have a gift to shop for!

I have loved this place for years - since they were on the sunset Blvd location. In 2007, I bought a necklace from this shop every month to celebrate each month I went without smoking cigarettes. I never had a problem with any of those necklaces...So 11 years later - when my boyfriend bought me a necklace for Valentine's Day from Sumi - I was excited to support that same shop. But the clasp broke - not once but twice - when I had it repaired the second time - the person working in shop shamed me for being rough with the necklace. I have curly hair so I will admit that my hair alone can be hard on a necklace but I haven't had this problem with necklaces from this shop before...so sorry ignorant sumi employee. It was a poorly made product. Stop shaming your customers as without the customer there is no sumi.

I'm not a local so I didn't know about this gem of a place. It was recommended to me by an employee from Wacko when I was looking for a unique child's gift. It was a great recommendation as there's a sweet child's clothing store next door. This place reminds me of one of my fave stores in San Diego, Simply Local. The owner was sweet, and offered great help and gift ideas. She had everything from jewelry, to nicely scented things, to unique and local gifts. The greeting cards she sells are hilarious! Not 5 stars only because it's slightly higher than my budget; not a place to find a deal, a place to find something nice. Love it!

I love this store. It's become so well curated over the past few years and I'm confident that whenever I walk in, I will find the perfect gift and card for the occasion. The staff is also kind and helpful but not overbearing. Whenever I pop in, Cat is always there to be a cheerful ambassador and offer suggestions. This store is a gem!

These guys are a gem in the community of stores in Los Feliz. Very nice staff. I LOVE that they keep hours that more realistic for working people to actually visit them. Even on the weekend they are open before and after similar stores. Great artisan jewelry section at a range of prices. I've been buying pieces here for the past couple of years for the women in my life. Great greeting card selection and decorative items, as well!

Sumi's is my go to place for unique gifts. The jewelry is gorgeous and there's a wide range to work with your budget, I never leave empty handed. The owner is so sweet and very helpful. She even gift wraps your items (if you'd like) with the most dainty and elegant packaging.

I adore this well curated gift shop in Los Feliz. Every time I need a gift or a card or something to brighten up the house, I end up here and almost never leave empty handed. Soy candles, quirky handmade greeting cards, and adorable trinkets for the hipster baby in your life can all be found here. The inventory is always fresh, but I can always count on their teeny tiny ceramic vases, perfect for holding a sprig of color. The service is so friendly! I'm left to browse, but if I need help with anything, they're always so willing. I was just trying to find a birthday card for my mom today, something really simple, and they bent over backwards to help me choose the perfect one. We're talking less than a $5 sale here, and yet they still went above and beyond. When I bought a candle that was going in my luggage, they packed it up so it was ready for travel. They're really wonderful! I love that my neighborhood has such a perfect, friendly gift shop. I'll be back!

When in need of a gift, Sumi's is the place (even if the gift is for yourself). This boutique shop has a variety of jewelry, candles, soap, posters, mugs, glasses, etc. The first time I went in, I was looking for a gift for my sister, and walked out with a necklace for myself. I love that they have locally sourced pieces. I went in our Christmas time for the second time, and the served free wine while shoppers strolled around. I stopped in again last night to pick up a last minute idea for a gift exchange. I asked the employee for some recommendations, and she definitely pointed me in the right direction. I picked up a cool Los Angeles pint glass and some fun coasters - honestly I'm thinking about picking my own gift at the gift exchange! They're also very dog friendly. They always give my pup treats when we come in. They're located on Vermont in Los Feliz right by other shops and restaurants. This will continue to be my go-to spot for gifts.

I'm so glad this little shop moved from Silverlake to my neighborhood! I pop in all the time to check out the new wares, especially the beautiful jewelry from local artists. They have quirky, handmade cards (I bought one for my BFF that said, "I'd orchestrate a prison break for you,") along with pretty vases, scarves, purses, scented candles, artwork, hand-made stuffed animals, etc. Great for gifts that don't scream, "mass produced, mall crap". The owner and her staff are all really nice. There's a chill, laid-back vibe, but they're also helpful if you need it. It's one of my favorite shops in my little 'hood.

Amazing store and such friendly staff. Sumi's is an integral part of the Los Feliz neighborhood. I absolutely love this store and the staff that works here - they have become friends over the years. Sumi always gives my dog treats when we pass by - shopping or not! I feel very lucky to have a go-to place for gifts and home accessories within walking distance - but I would travel to shop here too. Its always festive and friendly and smells incredible. The scented candles, soap and ceramics are amazing and I have gifted their chic, everyday jewelry to my friends and sisters who are always pleased.

Lovely neighborhood store with great selection and Cat, who helps run the store, has an almost uncanny ability to connect you with the right gift for the person you're looking for, whether it's a funny card (they have the best), print, or what's essentially an investment in jewelry art/important occasion presents.

Walked in to find a wedding band. Not a huge selection of men's rings but I really like what they had. Cat was super helpful and easy to work with.

This rustic jewelry/art/ general shop is a favorite of my wife, and after visiting several times myself I understand why. Sumi's features an eclectic mix of products from local artists who clearly take tremendous pride in their craft. If you are looking for a gift for that difficult to please person, look no further than Sumis, where you will be sure to find a unique gift!

I absolutely love Sumi's!! I have bought ALL of my friends' gifts here for the past 2-3 years and it has never disappointed. Mostly there is stunning jewelry (most of which is handcrafted by local artisans) but she also has other whimsical items. Sumi's has new items coming in all the time and the selection of jewelry is exquisite at every price point. Sumi's really understands what her consumer wants and needs. Sumi and her lovely staff personally take the time to help you find that perfect gift. If you give this unique and beautiful store a chance, you will come back time and time again, as I have !!

Whenever I get compliments on my jewelry and they ask where I got my ring/necklace/bracelet I always say - Sumi's! One of the best jewelry and gift stores in town. Sumi has a great eye, and all the jewelry is unique and special. Her mother-in-law (or perhaps she's her mother?) is a bag designer and I have many of her bags. Just a really cool, wonderful store that I've been going to for years.

As I was walking by Sumi's I was drawn in at the thought that I bet I could find a sweet gift for my brother inside. It just felt like that kinda perfect gift shop. Does that make sense? The woman working that day showed me a gorgeous leather wallet with "California" scrolled across it. It was perfect, handmade in SF, and just the right price point ($30!)! At check out, I was distracted by their gorgeous selection of jewelry, must remember to come here next time I want to treat myself!

I've been a big fan of this shop for years - beautiful, unusual, handcrafted jewelry at relatively affordable prices - so my boyfriend knew where to go when shopping for me. When we first started dating he bought me a pair of gorgeous earrings for my birthday and last weekend HE PROPOSED WITH A RING FROM SUMI'S. It is just my style, hammered white gold with a tiny, extremely sparkly diamond in a rose gold setting. I love the ring, the man, and the fact that my ring came from one of the coolest stores in Silverlake! Thank you, Sumi!

I love this store. They have beautiful jewelry, made locally, along with lots of great gift items. Everyone I've dealt with here has been incredibly nice. I bought a necklace that was later stolen, and I went in to see if I could find something similar to purchase. I was very upset because the necklace meant a lot to me (for reasons.) They contacted the artist and had her make me an identical one for me. That's going the extra mile. :)

Love this place. I had heard of Los Feliz and the hip shopping. I'm from New York, where most people think shopping is awesome, but I like things that are one or a few of a kind. This was the perfect place for that. I tried on a lot of the locally crafted jewelry and decided on two rings and a pair of earrings at decent prices considering the artistry and the nickel free construction. The customer service is also great, offering alternative ways of getting an item, they're shipping the rings to my apartment in NY. Also got the cutest reusable lunch bag, that I couldn't stay away from. Something for everyone here!

Sumi's is awesome. If you're looking for higher end gifts that people actually want to keep, this is your bet. Next to a bunch of cafes in the Los Feliz neighborhood, it's a nice place to stop by before or after the bookstore, brunch and a movie. Cute and handmade stuff, that is useful and not just for tourists. Bonus points to Cat for being welcoming and friendly and geeking out on harvesting succulents with me. She even gave me a cutting of one because I asked nicely. I like this place. Will be back to buy all the things.

This is a really neat shop to check out. They have an interesting mix of cute and quirky things. The staff was exceptionally personable too, which just goes along with the style of the shop. I got the coolest bracelet I've seen in a long time & my friend left with a ring that fits her to a 'T'. Great place.

Hands down the best shop to go to when you need a gift for anyone. I used to keep a box of gifts for those times when I don't have time to shop (and really, who has time any more?!) Now I just drop by Sumi's and I can get anything for anyone on my list. All price ranges. Yesterday I bought my mother a pair of fabulous and affordable gorgeous earrings and my 13 year old goddaughter something as well. I spotted a great belt for me and a cool leather wallet for my sweetie which I'll go back and get another time. Some of the most unique and beautiful jewelry I've ever seen (for men too), vases, art, elegant handmade purses in all sizes, cool things for the house and pet and all with a one-of-a-kind feeling.

This cute store has fantastic customer service! I called from Georgia with a question about a necklace my daughter saw while she was on vacation and Sumi herself spoke to me on the phone, figured out what necklace it was, answered all my questions, and even sent me a link. I ordered the necklace in a few seconds on line for my daughter's birthday and my she received it in the mail in just a few days! The necklace is beautiful and very high quality materials and craftsmanship and very reasonably priced! This will be my go to store come Christmas.
