What a lovely home from home! Charming, spotlessly clean. Decent sized rooms with great views. The hosts Mike and Patsy are just wonderful hosts. The knowledge they have of the District, history and the best places to go were spot on. They highly recommended Tarn Hows not far from their location and it took our breathe away with its beauty and serenity. They were also so helpful with the best easily accessible places to use a mobility scooter to go round the best lakes. Even lent us an A-Z, which came in very handy when the gps signal was poor!
I'm vegetarian and I had informed them in advance so every morning I was greeted with a choice of a great English breakfast with veggie sausages. The daily homemade chocolates were delicious and a lovely surprise, a different flavour each morning! A must buy before you leave! As are the relishes from Hawkshead Relish in Hawkshead, which you can try with your breakfast there.
A nicer couple you won't find. Friendly warm and so welcoming.
A couple in our party got engaged there the first day and the next morning they were given a card... it's the little things like this that make you want to revisit a place.
Would definitely stay there again!
