Summer Lodge Country House Hotel & Restaurant

WOW! We have just left Summer lodge after a few days break! Well we absolutely cannot recommend with hotel enough! We stayed in room 12 what was fully equipped for myself my partner and our dog, a large bedroom with the added bonus of a garden patio. |The room had everything we needed and was extremely clean and fully equipped. Even with a casual stocked bar. |Everything regarding this stay made it extra special, the staff especially who went over and beyond for us. Every need was met with a smile and perfect professionalism. (A special shout out to Philip who truly made our stay extra memorable) the food offered in the restaurant and the acorn pub was truly delightful. Offering the highest of quality and presentation and of course taste. |We cannot thank all the team enough and we cannot wait to return again for another break away. If you looking for a wonderful break where every part of your stay is taken care of, Summer lodge is the place to go!

A luxurious couple of days for my birthday left us feeling pampered and spoilt. The staff were charming and engaged, ensuring we had everything we wanted. The gardens were beautiful, pool and spa were spotless. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Our package included a 3 course meal at the hotel and a 3 course meal at the Acorn Inn in the village .. both were superb. Home made shortbread in the room was delicious as were the special birthday chocolates and welcome glass of fizz. Quintessential old style charm in abundance.

My Wife and I were treated to Afternoon Tea, by my Son and Daughter -in-Law. At this Beautiful and elegant Hotel, situated deep in the Beautiful Dorset Countryside. ||The Staff were excellent, well presented and well mannered and very helpful. The surrounding were luxurious and the Standard of food was exceptional. Endless amounts of Quality Teas served from pots with proper Leaf Tea. In addition to perfectly presented Sandwiches, Scones with Jam and Clotted Cream and a large selection of Delicious Cakes, not to mention two mini quiches as an appetiser before the food stand was put on our Table.|| My Wife and I would thoroughly recommend the Summer Lodge Hotel for a lovely Sunday Afternoon Tea or Lunch or Dinner. The grounds of this Hotel are stunning and I would love to spend a night in such Luxury. ||A big thank you to all the Staff at the Summer Lodge Hotel for such a lovely experience.

We had the most wonderful stay with my family at Summer Lodge over the Easter break! The staff are amazing and go out of their way to fulfil any requests, the spa is beautiful and so are the grounds and the bedrooms. It is really like a country retreat and so comfortable we didn't want to leave! We also ate in the lovely restaurant where the food was so delicious and also sampled the sister hotel, The Acorn Inn, where we also had a gourmet meal. All I can say is that we cannot wait to be back! Thank you everyone at Summer Lodge for making our stay unforgettable!

We have visited Summer Lodge a few times and are never disappointed. We recently went for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special. Staff were so lovely and could not do enough for us. Lots of little touches, treats and attention to detail throughout our stay. Food, wine and cocktails were amazing. Spa was very peaceful to spend a few hours in. Location is outstanding with beautiful views from every direction. This is honestly our favourite place to visit in the whole world. Thank you to everyone at Summer Lodge for making our stay so very special.

Summer Lodge is absolutely superb and a rare traditional gem in the beautiful Dorset countryside. Sometimes it’s the little details which make a big difference such as staff remembering your name and your past visits, your kettle being topped up with fresh water on turndown, delicious homemade shortbread in your room topped up daily, notes and gifts from housekeeping, high quality linen/bedding/pillows and of course a very comfortable bed. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel welcome with personalised service from the excellent team. As you would expect dinner is an occasion with pre-dinner drinks in the drawing room, an amuse bouche, delicious homemade bread before three courses including the option for a traditional cheese trolley. Breakfast was also excellent - particular mention to Philip for his special attention.||This really is a jewel in the Red Carnation crown and we look forward to returning again.

We loved our stay here ! We stayed in Superior King room 9 which overlooked the lovely garden and far hills. We were so impressed by all the little treats that kept coming. The cocktail on arrival with nibbles, followed by fudge on day 2 and departure water with cookies and marmalade on day 3. The sitting room was very comfortable for pre dinner drinks. We were very happy with the delicious breakfasts and dinner. A special mention must go to all the staff who went out of their way to please. We would love to return.

My husband and I had a wonderful 2night stay at summer lodge! The food was exquisite, the staff were so friendly and helpful - the grounds are stunning and the overall experience was tranquil and luxurious. The Acorn pub down the road was also excellent in food and service. Honestly couldn’t fault the whole experience - perfect stay and would love to come back! The secret escapes price point meant we could enjoy this whereas we never would have been able to stretch to the standard rates. That’s not to say it’s not absolutely the money - but we were thrilled to enjoy it at even better value. Thank you to all the staff for a great break!

Wonderful - We stayed for four nights recently and our only criteria for choosing them was that they were dog friendly and we love Dorset but we really made an excellent choice. Evershot is a little piece of heaven and Summer lodge is the perfect place from which to experience it . I loved the home-made shortbread and the fresh apricots placed in our room every day, the service was excellent and yet unobtrusive, and the breakfasts an absolute joy. The swimming pool was a bonus too - it was nice to have a quick dip before breakfast and before going out in the evening, pure luxury. We will definitely stay there again.
