The Seafood platter was wonderful! A mango pineapple fresh salsa was the start over seared salmon. Whole clams were light and delicious! 🤤 you can’t go wrong with this view. Outdoor seating on the lawn by the marina and porch dining, with a sunset!

Now, onto the food that stole the show: - My son wasn’t even planning to eat much, but one bite of the chowdahh and fish & chips had his jaw on the floor. “Perfect,” he said. There for lunch, very busy but we found seats at the bar Got the bang bang cauliflower and streamers app. They were excellent. For lunch we had fried clam platter and the best of cape cod jumbo size (lobster roll, cole slaw, ff’s and a cup of chowder) Both great choices This place keeps us coming back every time we visit Cape Cod

This was our 2nd time here, even though it was a hot summer day on the Cape and it was raining, windy and dreary, the dining room was open. All the staff was extremely friendly and acted as though it was the best days of their lives and were happy to serve us! I ordered a beer, and we split a cup of clam chowda (oh. my. god, best recipe!!) We also ordered the seafood combo with fried clam strips and scallops, seriously you can't go wrong with either of those. The Cole slaw was probably the best I have ever had, it was overly covered in sauce, I thought it was great. The fried calamari had a spicy Asian Zing sauce (or something spicy) but I'll definitely get it again!!

The food was good but we had to wait 1 hour before we could eat and when we tried to get take out they said it wasn’t possible!!

A nice little joint near the boat docks. Stopped here for a light lunch in the middle of the afternoon and look forward to returning. The jumbo shrimp was great, although the chowder was served piping hot. Took a while to cool down. Still tasted good! Outdoor seating had some decent views. If you need a little lunch spot in the area, totally recommend.

Our experience was amazing! When we first pulled up, we weren’t sure about it. It’s behind some stores and next to a boat dock. However, our service was amazing! We were originally on the deck when it got cold, we asked to be moved inside. The waitress made it no problem at all and helped us move. The seafood was wonderful! Get the haddock rice bowl. I’m not a rice person, but trust me! It’s so good! The lobster roll was also amazing and filled with fresh lobster! Ended out time by adding a dollar bill to the wall. Come eat here before they get too popular!

Had to have the Lobster Roll! We got the small one. ( x 2). also a fish sandwich ( nice size ) hot dog fries and Cape Cod chips. also a small onion blossom. all good. it got crazy busy for lunch but the service was awesome. must try this place.

We arrived at 6:00 and waited for a table. We were able to get drinks at the bar and enjoy the outdoors next to the river in Adirondack Chairs. Once we were seated on the porch with the 55 min wait, we had our server take our next drink order, apps and entrees. It took almost about 40 min for the apps and close to 60 plus min for our meals. Food was good and no complaints. We enjoyed our time but it did take a LONG time. We ordered Tuna Nachos, Wings, Hawaiian Burger, Fish Sandwich, combo fried scallop and clams plate. We were looking for a place to bring our dogs AND grab some lunch. This was one of the dog friendly places in the area. Parking was a little bit of a bitch but it's worth dealing with for the really cool location of this spot, it's right on a marina so the views are really unique. If you are as easily distracted as I am, you will notice the boats coming and going. I had no idea it was possible to park a boat literally like you would park a car. Cool stuff. I digress. If you have a dog, you can only sit at the tables with the adirondack chairs on the dress spank next to the marina which, imo, provides the best view in the house but does require some sunscreen as you are directly under the baking sun. Our server was fantastic. Definitely one of the better servers that sticks out in my memory of recent dining experiences. She was VERY nice and really accommodating to my dietary preferences. That brings me to my next point. They have put in literally zero effort in accommodating anyone that doesn't eat meat or seafood. There may be one salad on the menu that doesn't have either. I was going to order that salad but GF brought my attention to the possibility of ordering the chicken BLT (grilled chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheddar, and bourbon bbq sauce) without the meat. Even to me, this sounded absolutely absurd. There was no harm in asking, she reminded me and without the meat it was essentially a grilled cheese with lettuce and tomato. If the waitress wasn't so nice I probably would've been too chicken shit to ask but she did look at me like I had ten heads when I asked. She didn't think so BUT offered to ask the kitchen for me. Not only did she ask but she was also able to get me a reduction in price! Really, really exceptional service. GF ordered the tuna nachos to start which are really unique. I'm a WHORE for nachos so I've had pretty much any (vegetarian) variation you can imagine and I've never heard of anything like this: wonton chips, soy sauce, pico de gallo, wasabi mayo and tuna. Who knew this place was also offering asian mexican fusion? I tried a few chips not touched by tuna juice and they were phenomenal. For her main, GF ordered the lobster roll which was provided with more sides than I was expecting. She says, "it was very good". Unfortunately, when mine came I was disappointed. I was grateful they made the attempt but they totally omitted the cheese so I just had a bun with lettuce and tomato. I literally ordered "without the chicken or bacon" so I don't know why the cheese was omitted. Another thing I absolutely must mention. The drinks are delicious. I made it easy and ordered the white sangria which was on the sweeter side but served up tropical vibes that paired well with the nautical view. GF ordered the frozen blueberry lemonade which wasn't exactly frozen but that could be because literally nothing frozen would survive in that heat. When asked if she liked it she says, "Yes." A woman of few words. This place has A LOT to offer and really is a great place, I'm just frustrated by the lack of vegetarian options. If you eat meat and/or seafood, you'll enjoy yourself. If you have any friends or family members you want to eat with, you'll be SOL. It's 2023. Let's get with the program.

Food is probably good but I wouldn't know since a server never came up to us. The older woman at your host stand is rude to say the least

We discovered Summer Shanty last year on a month's long visit to the Cape. The owner of a cute cottage that we rented on High Bank Road told us about Summer Shanty. We ate there several times last year. And we had our first meal there this week. Always crowded, but always friendly. My favorites are the wonderful fried scallops. Although this time, I had a combo platter with fried fish. The Cole slaw is a little different from most places, but very refreshing. As I cannot drink alcohol, the Shanty's Frozen Lemonade cannot be beat on a hot day. Now that we have become Washed Ashores, Summer Shanty will be one of our favorite regulars.

We were seated right away. The staff were lovely. Kim was a great server and the wings where bussin bussin no cap (as per my daughter) the shanty dinner was ok and the chicken tenders where also bussin legit no cap (as per my son) we hope to come here again and have even more stellar food from the employees.

Well located seafood restaurant by a marina. Nice views and friendly staff. The food is mainly all fried fish etc but my shrimp sandwich was tasty and the seafood tasted fresh and only lightly fried. View was lovely, lots of outdoor space and tables.

Great waterfront spot with cold beer and good food. Very convenient location with friendly staff. Highly recommend!

We had intended to go to a more crowded, no reservations place for a large party but with a large group(13 w/ half being kids) we did some looking around and came across Summer Shanty. The place is by the water and seating was outside. The waitstaff were very accommodating and provided prompt service. We got the following: Clam Chowder - was so good that my son who doesn't usually eat seafood was gobbling up half! Lobster Roll - dressed with just enough mayo but still had enough fresh flavor Fried combo plate - we picked whole belly clams and scallops. It came with fries and slaw. The slaw was more of a vinegary type which I liked more so than a mayo based one. Everything tasted fresh and the fried plate was flavorful and crispy. This was a nice little gem with plenty of outdoor seating and views of the water.

As one of the few pet friendly establishments near our vacation rental, we had to try it. There were cozy Adirondack chairs with low wood tables in front of them. Very quaint and cozy to hang out and have drinks overlooking the marina. Since we had our dog, we were only allowed on the grass Adirondack chairs. Not conducive to eat a meal. They also had 2 or 3 patio tables on the grass, but we were told we could only pick the Adirondack chairs. We tried to make the best of it and ordered only food we could eat off a coffee table. We ordered a cup of clam chowder, fish and chips and a rice bowl with fried. The chowder was the highlight - thick and creamy with tender clams and potatoes. The fish and chips were cooked well but rather bland compared to other places we visited. The rice bowl was good but also a bit bland. My husband ended up using a little ketchup on the grilled shrimp. The chowder will bring us back. We'll bring our dog, sit in the cozy chairs on the grass and have drinks and chowder watching the sunset.

What a great place to sit outside and enjoy great views, food and service! You sit right on the river if you pick a table on the deck. The raw bar game is strong. And everything else we've tried is tasty as well.

It was a nice location relaxing . Food was good Olivia our server was great . It's great they have the lights they add to umbrella once it gets dark I'm impressed they provide the extras. Now some propane heaters would be great !!

Perfect location. Sat outside facing the marina and watched the sunset. Food was yummy and drinks were especially good.

Went there for dinner after a wonderful day on Bass River with an old friend. He recommended dinner there. I had the tuna(sushi grade) nachos(gluten free if they used corn chips)! One of the best things I've had in a long time! Everything else we had was also fabulous! My wife said her chowder was the best she's had on the cape!

What a great spot. We were looking for a nearby place that we call in a pick up order for a fresh lobster roll. Summer Shanty delivered. The Best of Cape Cod dinner is amazing: lobster roll, clam chowder, slaw, and fries (which you have to ask for). So much food for what you typically pay for a lobster roll so I thought it was good value The chowder was well seasoned and lots of clams and potatoes. Not the water down stuff you get at some places. Coleslaw was sweet and vinegary. Not the mayo based kind you normally get. I like this version a lot. The lobster roll was loaded. Though technically a small portion, it was plenty. Lobster was fresh and the bun was nice and toasted. Also tried the clam strips and they were great. Not greasy like it is at a lot of places. There was lots of outdoor seating by the water and plenty of parking. The view of the boats and water was lovely. I'll definitely need to come back and dine at the restaurant when it is sunny and warm.

We had a large group needing two tables on a weeknight. They estimated a 45 minute wait and pretty much nailed it. Nice mix of appetizers and sandwiches to go with the mixed drinks and beers. On a summer evening with nice weather, it was a great spot to relax for 2+ hours with friends.

Nice setting on the water, good for watching the boats and having a beverage with friends. Drinks were good, apps solid. Food solid. Service was good, busy place. A nice setting for a get together, another place I would recommend. Prices reasonable, ample parking but the ambiance brings you back.

The food was simple but elegant. The service was friendly and caring especially since we had an infant with us. Finally the view out onto the water with the boats was perfect for a evening dinner.

If you're looking for a good spot for lunch with a view, this is the place! On Tuesdays from 4-7pm they offer a Raw Bar Happy Hour, which I definitely recommend if you love oysters, little necks and shrimps. Another Cape Cod recommendation.

Great food, service, views and location. It was busy but we didn't have to wait for a table and the food was out to us in less than 10 minutes of ordering. No complaints

Came here on a Sunday night for dinner. Got here at 4:30 and the place was packed, hostess said 30 min wait but we could sit and have drinks. We sat at the high top bar stool and within 10 min had a table. I got the mudslide and my fiancé got the Kona Big Wave. Both super yummy. We started off our meal with a small onion petal, so good. The sauce is like a mild horseradish tangy sauce so good! Then out comes our main meal, I got the clam strip plate and he got the fish and chips. So fresh and crunchy and yummy! Definitely coming back here! Parking is a little crazy because of the marina, come here early!

Great spot to bring your dog. Lots of room outside with tables and a nice grassy area right on the water. Fried haddock sandwich was light and delicious. I recommend plopping their tangy, vinegar based coleslaw right on top!

If you are looking to have a meal on the water with a nice view and not concerned about price, portion or selection, than this is your restaurant. They have no gluten free options so you'll have to "make due" with what is on the menu. The prices are quite high considering the portions unless you think French fries are your main staple. They do serve ample portions of fries and they are good. I ordered the halibut. Not quite sure I've ever had such a thin piece of halibut which of course when grilled became a dry frisbee. The green beans that were literally slopped onto the plate weren't bad. We had steamers. A few were inedible. (Didn't look right or smell right ...didn't even want to try). Everything being served on paper...plastic forks and knives made it difficult to cut the frisbee halibut. Well over 200 bucks for 4 people included a burger, fish sandwich and a piece of salmon with the steamers... yup. Not a huge fan.

After a longggggg drive into Cape Cod, we stopped at Summer Shanty before even going to our house. I seriously loved every bit of our time here! We had to wait for a table but that just meant kicking back in big adirondack chairs with some great Summer cocktails. They are right on the marina so vibes were good and I was happy as a clam. I was over the moon thrilled to see how spaced out all of the tables and chairs were from one another and felt totally comfortable. They have arrows on the floor and most patrons I saw were abiding by them as well as wearing masks when moving around. Our waitresses were all really friendly and kind as well. After drinks, we got a table and got a lot of very fried food. Their menu is basically a ton of fried food. We started with a blooming onion and fried calamari as appetizers and I had a fish sandwich for lunch. It was way too much food but all very tasty! The calamari was crispy and who doesn't love a blooming onion?? The fish sandwiches came with this really delicious coleslaw that I wish I couldn't bought a pint of. I would have loved to have made it back here for more drinks on the adirondack chairs but a week in Cape Cod goes by way quicker than you think. If you are staying in the area, I highly recommend a trip to Summer Shanty!

Amazing. Good for all ages if you don't mind a bit of a wait (at times) and just enjoying a leisurely meal.

Nice time. Good meat in the lobster roll & seasoning & celery. Fried clams good batter. Fries thumbs up. Very hot without shade but stayed because good service from server. Side of cole slaw was good too.

Best clam strips in Dennis port . Truly a hidden gem. Great bar tenders fast service . 10/10

Fried scallops are very good. I got the combo with fried fish. Great water view and our waitress, Britney, was very helpful.

Great food, drinks, and location. Only cons were mosquitos when dining at dusk and kitchen was really backed up so food took super long to come.

Views of the Bass River are incredible. Food is reasonably priced, staff was attentive and super friendly. The chowder was one of the best we had during our travels on the Cape (and believe me we tried a ton of them). Did they sneak lobster in it? Maybe... Come for the food, stay for the view. Really spectacular, on the marina, incredible sunsets, worth the wait. Definitely add it to your list if you're in the area.

Very enjoyable evening. Went on a Thursday night during July. Sipped on a sangria and rum coke while eating and enjoying the view. The weather was perfect for eating outside. We started with the crab cakes, throughly enjoyed. He had fried scallops and clams ( ordered haddock, but enjoyed the clams!) I had the lobster roll, small. It was a decent size , good amount of lobster, served with fries. We both enjoyed the coleslaw, made with vinegar and loaded with pickles, yummy. Would definitely return.

This is a solid place to grab dinner! This is a fun place to eat with a view of the water. I would definitely come to get drinks so I could pull up a chair and sit closer to the water.

Atmosphere: 5 stars Service: average Food: average Drinks: 4 stars The outdoor seating right on the marina is really what brings us in. Mudslides are great and some of their other specialty cocktails are also really good. Food was subpar, other than the steamers. They were awesome. Our server was flustered the whole time and most of our drinks took 10-15 minutes to come out. We almost canceled our food order because it took so long, but when it came out, it did the job. Will be back for drinks on the water again.

Very nice waterfront restaurant. Inside seating was comfortable and on a nice day outside would be awesome. The food, drinks and service was excellent! We will be back again.

Year after year the food gets better. The staff is attentive and friendly. Ambiance can't be beat. It is high on my go-to list.

Okay it think I'd really give this spot a 3.5. Came here twice actually during Memorial Day weekend and did enjoy it. Excellent location right on the water with seating inside, on a patio, and outside tables right on the water. The first day we went I ordered a lobster roll (the summer of lobster rolls) and it was good! I'd rate it a 7 out of 10, there was a good amount of meat (I got the smaller size as it saved me about $13). I felt it was enough at the time, the bun was nicely toasted, and as a lobster roll should it had a piece of crunchy lettuce at the bottom. I felt it could have used a bit more seasoning to give it some more flavor - even some lemon or pepper. The next time I got a tuna melt (I know tuna melt at a seafood spot...), but they had run out of lobster rolls and clam chowder! It was good, the service just took FOREVER and at that time there weren't a ton of people there. I will say both times I got a mudslide and they were everything thing a girl could dream of. The vibes here are great, but going off of food it wasn't anything that I'd rave about. But would definitely come back here for those mudslides and great sunsets!

We stopped here for lunch on our way into town and it was everything I dreamed it would be. Cold drinks, good chowder, solid kids menu, and a lobster roll that will blow your mind! Yum!

delicious meal at summer shanty! loved the clam chowder and the fish and chips! husband had the scallop plate also wonderful. fresh fried chips and breading not too thick on the fish. great atmosphere next to the harbor to see the boats and great lawn area for drinks if waiting for a table. first visit here and it won't be the last :)

How can you go wrong with a view like that? Service, drinks, setting were great. Sign is small on Rt 28. . Easy to miss.

This is definitely a shanty. The food is eh and the service is eh and don't starry on the ambiance.

Went here during Phase 3 of COVID when things were open, but masks and social distance were required. We are picky about where we will eat out in COVID since not all places are following the spacing rules. We looked and saw they were following rules of spacing and masks so felt safe going here. It was so nice to sit outside, be served and have food I didn't cook myself! It tends to be a fish fry type of place. My husband got the fried fish sandwich, and I got the chicken fingers, both of which were really good. They have specialty sauces you can try, but I prefer honey mustard. The French fries were a little over done, but we had plenty of other food to fill up on. Service was good, and we got in and out pretty quick. Would go back!

Great locations, excellent food and even better views. Celebrated July 4th weekend and came here for dinner one evening. This place gets packed so be sure that you try to go a bit earlier to grab one of their Adirondack chairs to sip on a drink while watching the sunset. Service wasn't the best, a bit slow but it's probably because they were really busy. My lobster roll (cold) was very fresh and delicious. Plus, my glass of Rose just added to the meal, crisp and refreshing. My husband got the scallop roll and it was delicious also. Definitely a must visit when down the Cape!

5 stars for being dog friendly.... No stars for service, food, cost and food allergy friendly. I got a Caesar salad... $14 without croutons and $7 to add chicken. The clam chowder was was too thick for my liking which I know people like but not me. My mom is gluten free and there is nothing except 2 salads and a shrimp cocktail. It's 2023, get with the program! She asked for the shrimp bowl or the shrimp plate to be made with grilled shrimp and they said no? They can't? It's also made with rice pilaf... just do regular rice and it's more allergy friendly. This place is expensive for no reason, the local dive bar blows this place out of the water besides the location, It sucks it's such a nice spot. The Summer Shan really need to step up their game. This could be such a nice spot.

The view is amazing. We had a party of five and were seated directly on the marina. Drinks came out quickly. It took a bit longer for the food but it gave us time to relax and enjoy summertime on the cape. The waiter was working hard. The food was delicious. We got the steamers, calamari, clams with bellies, shrimp, salmon and a lobster BLT, not to worry there were 5 of us and we ate everything!

we had the best lunch here! my best friends and i were on my birthday trip in dennis port and came here for lunch. i was nervous because there was 10 of us but the waitstaff is awesome and helped us get a table really quickly. we sat outside and it was wonderful to have the waterfront view. food is amazing! obviously not wonderful for vegetarians or vegans, but the salad was ok. we definitely came here so that my friends could have seafood! there were so many options and everyone was so happy!

BEST LOBSTER ROLL OF MY LIFE. Fun waterside dining for the whole fam. Lots of space and rocks to collect (a top priority for my toddler). The Crazy Lady cocktail was also delish and refreshing and light.

Started with a 40min wait for two which was expected at dinner time on the cape. Went inside to get drinks and multiple spots available at the bar. Bartenders were busy but super attentive. Food came out fast, drinks were served faster. Had the large lobster roll which was delicious. Large amounts of lobster in a buttered toasted bun served with thick cut French fries. Overall a great dinning experience.
