Summerie's Thai Restaurant

This was one of the best curry I had in years. I’ve ordered Duck curry, Hot summer night, and Som tam(green papaya salad; which wasn’t on the menu). All dishes were amazing and delicious, I would highly recommend any dish with red curry! Definitely would recommend to a friend.

Quite disappointed experience. Crying Tiger beef was overcooked beef stir fry while pad thai prawn was over crunchy without any real flavour. Thai milk tea was too creamy and sweet. Great barrier Reef dish is under seasoned with chilli

Great place to eat! Love the ambience and the great service the staff provides! The dishes were very flavoursome especially the Green Papaya salad, and can request to reduce amount of chillis in the dish! Their coconut water, I don't know if it's homemade but it's so great, I go out of my way to be able to buy it from their shop some afternoons for a refresh before going back to work!

Delicious soups and coconut rice! The fried vegetable spring rolls are good too.

It's nice in Townsville. In Sydney Thai restaurants are still better

Been here several times. Meals are good with a wide variety of choices. Prices are also quiet reasonable, especially the lunch time specials. The coconut rice is a must IMO too! Only down side is that the meat does tend to be a little over cooked fairly often but overall it is pretty good for the price.

Chose Summerie's based on Trip Adviser reviews and had an excellent dinner. Very friendly helpful staff. Drinks and food arrived at well timed intervals. Started with money bags, spring rolls and the green papaya salad. Very tasty entrees. Followed with roast duck curry and a spicy chicken stir fry. Both dishes were very good with generous amounts of duck/chicken and vegetables. Service was attentive even though the restaurant was busy. Summerie's is indeed a quality touch of Thailand in Townsville. Highly recommend.

On a recommendation, we got the green curry. I got it with beef and added tofu. It was very good. The herbs and seasonings was definitely a relatively complex and unique concoction, but with most of your standard ingredients: various chili combo, bay leaf, cinnamon, star anise, cloves, red pepper, maybe a bit of ginger, etc. etc. etc. It was appetizingly spicy (note that I can eat very spicy food) and soaked into the rice well, without being overpowering. I ordered a pot of the jasmine tea. It was generic, but good.

The meals were served quickly with great table service. The dishes are authentic, just close your eyes and you would feel as though you were eating in Thailand. I would highly recommend anyone who comes to Townsville to dine here.
