Summersville Lake

Summersville Lake is a great place to visit. The Summersville Lake Dam is very impressive with high rock walls and the spillway below has a huge outlet. Drive down to the tailwaters for a different view of the dam. Nice campgrounds with boat access and kayak launch. Fun place to spend the day or weekend.

Summersville is a great place to go for camping, hiking, fishing, site seeing, lots to do for the whole family. They are building new cabins to rent, I hear their nice, you can go to beach area hang out go for a swim, they have places for RVs, Drivable campers, Electric hook up, water. Summersville is a beautiful place, with their lakes and Dam. Family oriented, kid friendly. Its a great get away. So take a trip to Summeesville, youll love it. A great escape from everything.

Such a beautiful Lake!! We did kayak and paddle boarding, it was the first time we were there so rentals recommended us to launch in Battle run which it’s a nice area bc it had a little beach and like an island. In some point were a lot of boats going so fast definitely got pretty wavy. We realized the amazing views of the lake of the big rocks and waterfalls were kind of far away in an area called Long Point so we definitely coming back another time to explore that area, but still we had a great time!

This place is beautiful. It has clean water, it is drained every year for the white water rafting and it refills from the melting of the snow and rain. An absolute attraction you must visit. There is a loading dock for your boat and you can fish all night. However, you can also fish on the docks provided.

Love the place. There are a lot of activities to perform. Hiking trails, camping sites, beach experience, beach volleyball, boating, fishing, canoeing and so on. I love to camp by the battle run campground. Don’t forgot to go on Long point trail hiking to see wonderful cliff. The beauty of the lake and the serenity always attract me. Love it.

Went swimming off the Whippoorwill road. Steep muddy short walk down to the water but totally worth it! We had so much fun swimming and climbing. Water was perfect. All around great time and free 😍

Absolutely beautiful lake. Some of the clearest water you'll find. I could see my anchor line probably 40 feet down into the water. Plenty of cliffs lining the shores that are stunning. People climb on the cliffs and jump off of them. Lots of anchor spots. The water gets rough on the weekends because of a lot of boat traffic and the waves bounce back off of the cliffs. Probably 3 foot swells on a Saturday. 1.5 foot swells in some places during weekdays. Pretty clean lake but watch out for the random pieces of logs floating around, don't wanna mess up your boat.
