My husband and I traveled to Kansas City for a wedding. We were just looking for a nice place to relax, have a good meal, and maybe a drink after a long day of travel and Summit Grill was perfect! The service, food, and atmosphere were all excellent. Everything felt welcoming and well done from start to finish. We only wish we could have gone more than once during our trip. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town!

Google
Cool vibe. Attentive waiter. I got the French onion soup, and I did not care for it. It had way too much bread in it which soaked up literally, all of the liquid. I mistakenly ordered house salad, which I thought had iceberg lettuce and it had very very leafy lettuce. I felt like I was chewing on a tree. I took about three bites of it and was done.

Definitely a new favorite restaurant! Steak was hands down the best I've had in a very long time.

Had a wonderful brunch for Mother’s day! Enjoyed the moist and plentiful salmon, Mac and cheese( always a favorite) and fries. Loved the Asian salad and had it with shrimp instead of chicken. It was delicious and I loved the theee different dressings, especially the wasabi sauce. Great service and always good vibes!

Service was great. My breakfast off of their brunch menu was delicious. Drinks were yummy. Pleasant atmosphere.

Google
This place never disappoints! We were actually trying to eat a quick lunch at the taco place attached but they were not open until 3pm. We decided to stay and ordered the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich, split. Out of the kitchen comes two plates with half sandwiches and fries. Not only were the sandwiches huge but also delicious! The split fries were plenty. The service was great and the restaurant was ultra clean.

Not gonna lie it love this place. I always order the ribeye. But tonight I did a pick up order. My ribeye was half the size as it is normally. Over cooked and charred to death basically burnt on one side. C'mon we have to better. If I was dining in i would have sent this back. Something ive never done but this was unacceptable for a $41 meal plus a tip.

We came as a large group for our school’s business etiquette class. They had us set up nicely and accommodated a group of 20 beautifully. We did come past the rush but no one had to wait on their food. Everything was hot and fresh. I think we covered almost every dish on the lunch menu. Super clean facility. Our server was just lovely. Attentive but not hovering. Absolutely recommend!

Yelp
We were in the area and so glad we had time to stop in before an event. Happy hour choices did not let us down!! All of the food was fantastic. Service was a little slow but got the job done. The layout of the restaurant looks much more appealing in pictures - what an odd lay out in person. The street tacos, spin dip, sliders and French fries were all an excellent choice to share for dinner. Nothing but good flavors and enjoyed them fresh from the kitchen. Will recommend and hopefully be back to try more!

Yelp
The food is always good, in fact Summit has one of the best Nashville Hot Chicken sandwiches.. it's hot in flavor, and the aoili is delicious! I ordered my bun to be isolated from the chicken because the oil from the chicken can make it soggy. My order was packaged correctly. The carry out area is pretty odd. Once you go through side door, you wait at counter, there's no indication how anyone knows you're there, you just wait. I didn't wait long though.

Yelp
Come here often-I usually have a good time. I've only had one poor experience when I came in with a group after our kids basketball game. The waitress charged all of our kids for soda even though only a few ordered it. An auto service fee of 20 or 25% was added which was expected but she fluffed our bill with nonsense. Extra sauce drinks that weren't ordered and to make this worse she didn't check on us and didn't speak to the parents when ordering meals we had to redirect her to us. Then got an attitude when questioned about the auto gratuity-if she was half decent I would've tipped extra but she wasn't. The manager fixed it though and I left her 15%. Other than that one time my service and food has been awesome. The bar can be a little dark to read the menus. But I love the seafood macaroni and the brunch mimosas.

Yelp
We have been here several times and the food is always delicious so I'm not sure why it has taken me so long to write this. Love their spinach and artichoke dip app. Tonight I had the chicken fried goat cheese salad. The chicken was perfectly grilled with a grilled flavor you can taste. The salad has pears, strawberries and walnuts. I substituted the citrus wasabi dressing and it was good ( wanted more of a wasabi bite ) but I can see how the vinaigrette it comes with would pair better. I did have a side of that too. The goat cheese balls are pungent as goat cheese is. I am not sure why they are this big size. I would recommend cutting them up in small pieces so they are a part of the salad. Otherwise not for me as a bite on its own. My husband had the grilled chicken sandwich with bacon. He too thought it was really tasty and they got his order right with some substitutions that he asked for. The fries are those stick kind and perfectly fried. The serving size was plentiful.

Yelp
Always a great experience! My friend and I came here last week. We had the split pea toast as an appetizer and then the Cobb and Fried chicken salads. Their honey mustard is my new favorite! Yummmmm. When it comes to our particular server, it was not the best. He was just out of training. When we approached the manager about this, she went above and beyond making things right. Comped the entire meal, gave us complimentary wine and then extra entrees to go. She was fabulous and made everything very enjoyable!

Yelp
I went during restaurant week. There is parking nearby. The staff were friendly and gave us suggestions for the food. The drinks were delicious and came to us quickly. The interior was clean and well decorated. The chicken was tasty and the amount of food was spectacular. I would not recommend the soup but it was a restaurant week special.

Yelp
It's not often that a salad blows you away. However, I can say that the grilled chicken and goat cheese salad at Summit Grill was phenomenal. Not only was this probably the best grilled chicken I have ever tasted, the combination of the warm goat cheese croquettes, strawberries, pears, and candied walnuts put this salad over the top. We also started with a butter board which as phenomenal. I loved the warm bread, and the butter with the hot honey on top was my favorite. I will say service was kind of cold. We were reminded several times when we arrived that the kitchen closed in an hour (and then the restaurant an hour after that.) It came off as being annoyed, even though we ordered and finished our meals before the kitchen closed.

Yelp
Every year we use restaurant week as an opportunity to try a new spot. This year we went to Summit Grill and we were quite pleased. The space was very nice and clean. The food and drinks were fast and delicious. We definitely come back for another round. Definitely recommend the Chicken Fried Chicken and the Romano Chicken all Vodka.

Yelp
We had a fantastic meal at Summit Grill. This meal did not disappoint. He ordered the farmhouse burger served with egg, cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, aioli. I orders the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Both plates served with shoestring fries...yum! This spot has daily happy hour & brunch on the weekends. The restaurant has upscale and vibey aesthetics. Check out Summit Grill asap!

Yelp
I'd give it a one, but in fairness, never got to try the food. Sat for 20 minutes while staff walked back and forth past our table like we were trapped in a Douglas Adams "someone else's problem" field. Gave up and left.

Yelp
Blackened salmon salad was pretty good. It's kind of a bummer that this place doesn't have better service, but they are just always very understaffed. Pretty yummy food and appetizers though. (3.6 stars)

Yelp
Went on a Tuesday evening and sat in the bar. $5 house margarita was very good. Bar was packed but bartender kicked its &$$. She was very friendly, busy but it didn't affect her service. Corned beef brisket Rueben was incredible. Great experience.

Yelp
Grabbed Mother's Day brunch at Summit Grill. I made a reservation because we had a large group, but it was not nearly as crowded as I thought it might be. We ordered a variety of options from the menu and all of the food was good. I got the prime rib dip and my husband got the quiche - both were very good. Service was just OK. There was some spilling of water, slow food delivery, needed water and it wasn't refilled. I think I'll stick to the Gladstone location in the future.

Yelp
Service : attentive and kind Drinks: We came in on a Monday night to grab drinks. Apparently Mondays the special is half off wine under $100. Great deal and my friends and I shared one bottle. Ambiance: Definitely a lot more space than the Northland location. It's moody! Gives grown and sexy! I love the beautiful bar. Good place to grab dinner with the girls and a romantic date night.

Yelp
Tried out Sunday morning brunch at Summit Grill last month. It was less busy than we thought and louder than we'd expect given the lack of people. We'd picked this place after seeing it mentioned for excellent bottomless mimosas but should have called to verify as it's no longer a thing. There weren't any vegan brunch options which was a bummer. They were also out of the hummus, so I ordered a side of shoestring fries and the house salad {tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, radishes}. Both were ok but for me didn't justify the cost and trip to the area. Overall, seems like a nice place, but I'm not finding a reason for myself personally to return.

Yelp
We came here for our monthly brunch outing. My sister nd additional friend joined us this time. It stormed the night before and we dodged trees to get there. Very nice little place. Busy street and there's construction so that wasn't great but the restaurant couldn't control that. We were seated right away even though we had a reservation. If we didn't have one, we still could have been seated immediately. For drinks, my sister and I had had a carafe of cranberry mimosa, one friend had a belini and the other a mule. The mimosa was delicious once you got to the bottom. It should have been stirred up. The other liked their drinks as well. We ordered the Brie cheese for an app and it was DELICIOUS!! The apples and apricot marmalade was a perfect addition. For meals, I had the Biscuits and Gravy, my sister and the Chicken Biscuits, my Just Brunchin KC buddy had French Toast and our other friend also had Biscuits and Gravy. I also added a side of Smashed potatoes. All the food was good. The Biscuits were fluffy and the cheese eggs were yummy. Those potatoes were the star. So good and crispy but soft. I also ordered the Cornbeef Hash and another chicken Biscuit to go for my son and the hubs. They enjoyed their meals as well. May have to come back for dinner one day.

Celeste F.

Yelp
We went here to celebrate my son's 28th birthday. The food was great - try the sliders. The restaurant vibe was cool. My only issue was that I made reservations and I did not get the opportunity to pick a high or low top table and we ended up at a high top table. It was tough for my mom who is on the shorter side had trouble getting up and down on the stool. And they were unable to give us a low top table. We made do. But next time I will specifically ask for a low table.

Yelp
Waldo has plenty of dining competition, so something has to set a place apart. Summit Grill has kind of a niche with its 'American' fare, and they're getting that done pretty darn well. The hook for me is the happy hour, which runs daily from 3-6 (in the bar only) with some great shareables and cocktail offerings. If you are here to dine, then just know you've got a fair range of options. You can get with the turf (pork chop or steak options) or try your palate with some surf, such as Atlantic salmon or my choice, the seafood mac n' cheese, which is pretty good, but we *are* in the Midwest. So yeah, the scallops are bay scallops and the shrimp is like 51-60 sized, but this dish is well-executed and ample in portion size. The Mrs. opted for the Chicken & Goat Cheese salad, with grilled strips and these AMAZING croquettes of goat cheese that are lightly breaded and fried. Those are just the best, and they could make an appetizer out of the croquettes alone - they're that good. Our server, Bri, was so fabulous, making for a great date night. My old-fashioned was pretty on point, joining Four Roses bourbon splashed with just the right amount of sweetness. We added in a Wedge Salad as an 'appetizer' and that's like the only time I get with iceberg lettuce, but this is a sensational melange of flavor. Bleu cheese crumbles, bacon, and diced tomato adorn the wedge and it's scrumptious. Well, for a salad. Great lead-in for dinner, too, and I highly recommend. Parking is, well, Waldo, so do what you can. Happy hour is a total winner, with plenty of local hooch represented (Tom's Town, anyone?) and great specialty drinks. It's not quite five-star but it's north of four and Yelp doesn't do halfsies, unfortunately. Just know you can expect good fare in a nice place with great service, and stars schmars - give Summit Grill a try.

Yelp
I enjoyed my first visit. The ambiance was wonderful, very cozy, and was perfect for our family gathering. The brunch menu isn't very large but has great options. The customer service was fantastic.

Yelp
I can't believe after all these years I've never reviewed Summit Grill! They've been around for a while now and I feel it's safe to say this is a solid four star establishment. When you walk in, you'll be greeted warmly by the staff and enjoy an upscale dining experience. It's not super fancy, but in my opinion it's the kind of place that feels nice enough to take your parents if they want to have dinner with you and you don't want to pay the price tag of a steakhouse. I've been for brunch, lunch, and dinner, and I feel like consistently the food here is great. On my last visit I had a salad that came with grilled chicken and fried goat cheese. The goat cheese was heavenly and the chicken was pretty average. Overall it was a tasty salad but nothing I'd likely return specifically for. My colleague told me that they have the best chicken fried steak in town though and loved every bite of her meal so if you venture here you might make that part of your journey. Overall, I don't have many complaints, it's a very solid restaurant, and you'll likely leave happily full.

Yelp
my martini was great and exactly what i asked for, french toast was really good! a couple people with me got the nashville hot chicken biscuit A LOT hotter than expected our server didn't really come around often to make sure everything was ok so a manager helped us out. it all got sorted out in the end though and they were able to enjoy the meal with us.
google avatar

Yelp
Professional service and consistently delicious food. From hostess/greeter desk to the dining table no better customer service and menu items. Relaxing atmosphere.
google avatar

William H.

Yelp
The food and service were impeccable. My server. The food was market fresh. Logan was great.

Allison R.

Yelp
Let me say the food was amazing. But I was irritated when my party of 5 arrived and the hostesses (there were 3 of them and I'm not sure why) informed us we did not have a reservation. I pulled up the email on my phone to show them and then the hostesses were like ok we can seat you. Now the place was not packed yet they sat us at a table by the door during the bitter cold weather. Our waiter was very busy but did the best he could. I'm not sure I will be coming back to this location.
google avatar

Monte' J.

Yelp
Stop by this morning for brunch. The wait was short, the staff was attentive and parking was easy. I ordered the breakfast tacos 3/5. The Mrs ordered an omelet veggies style 3/5 and we shared some brioche French toast 3/5. The Tacos were missing a flavor bang compared to the past, The tacos were heavy on the egg and light on the meat, the veggies in the taco did not scream strong fresh flavor and the extra salsa was a little weak although the breakfast potatoes were great crisp, and fluffy. The French toast was a little soggy (undercooked) in the middle on a couple of slices but the flavor profile was good and it had a reasonable texture. The syrup was good as well as the sausage that comes with the french toast, while the Mrs did not care for the strawberries that came ( taste funny) with the French Toast. The portions were more than fair and left with to-go box's. If you have never tried Summit Grill for Brunch you should stop in.
google avatar

TeAirra P.

Yelp
We went for NYE and ended up getting a table without a reservation. For the place to be so busy, our service was amazing. Natalie did a phenomenal job. Our food was great and came out in a timely fashion. We've always had a good experience there and that's why it was our choice for NYE.

Dennis B.

Yelp
The quality of food and service has declined dramatically. Used to be a favorite of our family. Sadly, this is not longer the case
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
I think Summit Grill is vying for "location most likely to be selected for a rap music video." The ambience seems nice until you realize the entire interior can be cleaned by spraying it down with Windex. The food is good, high caliber bar food and the staff are personable and attentive. I had the Southwestern salmon salad, which was very good. My colleague had the fried chicken salad, also good. I definitely enjoyed the food, but there was just nothing that made me want to return to this restaurant. The menu is really just standard bar food, but executed very well.
google avatar

Blaise G.

Yelp
Summit is a legit neighborhood spot. Very open and large space is awesome. Some food options are better than others but happy hour you can't miss. It's nestled right off 75th which is pretty fun. I've had great conversations with staff and some not so much. But overall I would recommend for a slightly upscale American experience.
google avatar

Ali C.

Yelp
I was visiting Kansas City for the weekend and my friend who lives here suggested we meet up at this restaurant for dinner. It was not anything overly special, the service was fine along with the food. Moderately to higher priced. We each got a salad. I was not a fan of the greens used, but it was a decent size with good flavor. We had grilled chicken and goat cheese, salad, and salmon salad.
google avatar

Sarah Elizabeth E.

Yelp
In front - the fall 2023 seasonal Shrimp Campanelle pasta. The fried sage works so well with every other component of this dish - so balanced and makes you want it over and over again! Middle - the Gota de Arena Tempranillo (do not pass this one up even though it is technically the most affordable red - it is divine. If you like a red that starts with a punchy bite and ends on a smooth note - it is for you (also went well with seafood as well as cheese and meat!) In back - "The Ultimate" Grilled Cheese paired with their hand cut fries. CHEESE TO THE MAX. Thank you for a wonderful first experience Summit - until the very soon next time! But maybe remind your bartender not to open the bottle before the server can present it to the table themselves

Sarah D.

Yelp
Great lively and very spacious restaurant with bar area and plenty of seating for large groups. For weekend brunch, the menu had good variety. The hot honey chicken biscuit was crispy with a light batter, well-seasoned and a flaky biscuit, pairing well with the side of breakfast potatoes.
google avatar

Jai S.

Yelp
Never would I have thought I would be leaving an unpleasant review for Summit Grill. For starters, we got there & was immediately seated (that was good)... but after being seated, it took over 20 minutes for us to get a waiter assigned to our table. We got drinks our drinks late & by this time we were already a tad annoyed. When our food finally came out, the salmon was raw, my sisters steak was super pink & she asked for well done & my chicken felt like I was actually eating the chicken. My sisters drink was strong , the place was clean & our waiter was nice .. that's why they get 3 stars. Other than that, I probably won't visit this location again for dinner.
google avatar

Ben D.

Yelp
This restaurant is a big yes. Finally a chance to leave a positive review. The service was very good. The restaurant is relaxed and comfortable. Every dish served us received a positive review by everyone. This is one restaurant where it is hard to go wrong. The only thing I would change is to add signage above the front door. There is space for it and would be a welcoming sight for those visiting the restaurant.

Jill H.

Yelp
The ambiance was quite dark for us and we struggled to read the menu. Our food was okay but my son's plate was extremely hot.
google avatar

Kim W.

Yelp
So I'm here right now. We have had to stop the servers each time just to get water. One of my cocktails took so long to come out that I stopped the waiter to cancel it. Our dishes sat on our table for at least an hr after we finished our appetizers. It definitely felt like they didn't want us here. It wasn't busy. It's the 1st night of NFL draft so it should be more people. I see that there is a less than satisfying theme going on here from the last few reviews. The building is cute. The lighting is a bit dark but I get it. Also I wish I had know that by asking for the mac and cheese for a substitute on the pork chops, I was losing both sides. I just wanted to sub the greens. The TVs were perfect for the draft & I'm glad foe the subtitles.
google avatar

Alisse A.

Yelp
Excellent service, food was delicious. Went for a weekend brunch with some girlfriends. Definitely will go back!

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Overall, happy to have this local place in the hood. mixed drinks good. wine selection ok if you prefer Cali. apps good. dinner alright. service slow as shizzle every time. Been coming here for YEARS and it never gets better. so plan ahead and make TIME. Is what it is.
google avatar

Nikki J.

Yelp
Service was ok, waitress seemed to have a bit of an attitude. However the food was delicious so that's why I'm giving 4 stars. The Mac and Cheese was very tasty, glad I made the substitution. I will definitely go back.

Yelp
Summit Grill is a must for brunch . I had a chance to check out the restaurant and watch the Chiefs play . I have to say the food was so good . Very much a conform meal with the Chicken Fried Chicken , I added a side of scrabble eggs and breakfast potatoes. Really good especially the seasoned gravy to top it off . Our server suggested dessert ! In which this Gooey butter took me back to the days I lived in St. Louis . It was really good , and made me forget about my diet lol.
google avatar

Brz E.

Yelp
I ordered a margarita but requested that the sweetness be dialed back some. It was not- it tasted like a very cheaply made margarita. Also why make your bar staff wear those atrocious vests. Whose idea was that? That's not cutting an edge bar uniform reminds me of something a magician would wear.
google avatar

Joe G.

Yelp
Good, food, but pricey. Burger was good but the least pricey item. Burger was decent size, other items, not so much. Very short staffed and chaotic. Not too impressed with lag times in service. They need something to cut down on the noise. Add some stereo grade foam to the walls. I wouldn't call the change from 75th street to this an upgrade by any means. Eyesore. 2stars.
google avatar

Erik O.

Yelp
Service and food were great! We had a large group and they were able to accommodate no problem. Parking was a bit of a challenge but that was the only struggle for space. The restaurant was pretty empty, yet still had quite the buzz. I could see this place being a tough spot for the hard of hearing on a busy day!
google avatar

Abby P.

Yelp
Beware of the bottomless mimosas. That's the first thing I have to say. They truly are bottomless and it can turn into a disaster really quickly... THAT SAID (haha!), the food is pretty good, but in my opinion, it isn't anything too extraordinary. It's a little overpriced for how it tastes. I've had the mac and cheese (probably my favorite of all of their dishes), their fish tacos, and a few salads. It doesn't really feel that inviting and a couple of times the service hasn't been all that great. Whether it was forgotten requests, rude waiters or too long of a wait, the service has stuck out in my mind as not the best. I think their taco place next door is a much friendlier and inviting place, so that is definitely something great that they have to offer!
google avatar

Kylonda G.

Yelp
I don't remember if I did a review or now. But you must eat here!!!!! Everything is soooo good!!! You can't go wrong with any choice you make. But our go to is the chicken fried chicken and I always share a gooey butter cake then take one to go.

Yelp
As I walked in I was greeted very warmly by the host. I was a little late to the happy hour party, but I was able to get my order entered in a timely manner thanks to the host once again. I was able to wrap my lips around the juiciest steak tacos I've ever had, dressed with cotija cheese, onion, cilantro, and chipotle cream. I also ordered some of the only shoe strings fries I'll actually like, because they are tossed with Romani cheese and truffle aioli; served with a side of garlic goodness sauce that deserves its praise on the menu. I decided I deserved a side of Mac n cheese and the sauce wasn't overly cheesy and was very smooth! It doesn't get Chunky when it cools off an keeps it's cheesy consistency until the very last bite. I may have to become and Mac & cheese connoisseur because I have been coming across some gems lately. I was also able to order a margarita from the happy hour menu as well and that does not mean half the quality; which is EXTREMELY satisfying!!! I believe it would be an HONOR to meet the cooks from the restaurant because this is my 3rd time here, although the 1st time was an accident; I promise the 2nd & 3rd were on purpose! There is a way to follow a recipe and then there's a way to execute consistency from loving what you do!!! The tacos are always phenomenally moist every time I order them and the margarita has a little punch that could knock you out if you have too many(: This is a great option for any occasion because the ambience is casual and there are a few seating options to pick from. I love choices and The Summit has something everyone will LOVE!

Yelp
We brought our friends from out of town here for brunch because we had heard great things about the place. I was prepared to be amazed. We were seated right away without a reservation and our server greeted us with waters. Their brunch menu selection is small but it seemed like everything on the menu was well prepared and delicious! I stuck with the original breakfast but others had the hash, breakfast tacos, and Omelette and I didn't hear any complaints. We didn't opt in for the bottomless mimosas but for $16 that would be a good option. My friend got a $6 Bloody Mary and she said that was a steal. The booth was a bit dirty when we sat down and during COVID, that always gives me anxiety, hence the 4 stars, not 5. Overall I enjoyed the experience but I was not blown away. It's just okay, at least for brunch.
google avatar

Charley B.

Yelp
I'm not sure if I get Summit Grill. It's a bit plain. Kind of upscale, but not really upscale. Kind of a neighborhood place, but not really a neighborhood place. Kind of just there. Anyway, we visited for brunch. We were seated quickly and greeted even quicker. (Did I say that right? Oh well. Moving on...) I want to highlight our server, who did a excellent job. Our group hadn't been together for a while, so we spent a decent time catching up, telling stories and not looking at the menu. Our server was prompt, patient, calm, personable and knew the menu up and down. Did I mention she was patient? I'm glad she was there. Finally, after we got our act together, I decided on a plate of biscuits of gravy, which were served with a side of scrambled eggs. I'm glad I did because it was a good and solid meal.

Yelp
I love summit grill, but not this location. The service is a hit or miss. I went in and tried to order a fried chicken salad and the lady said I could only get it at lunch time. HOWEVER, online ordering I saw it available for dinner. Then the next time I ordered online and was able to get the salad with no problem.... Well slight problem as they gave me the salad with no actual chicken. Lucky enough I noticed when I got in my car before going home. There is a noticeable difference in the amount of chicken this location gives compared to my preferred location LS. The last time I dined in the waitress was rushing us as she was about to get off. She took our order then brought the food and ticket at the same time. The restaurant was still scheduled to be open for another 2 hours. Just go to their LS location
