Sun City Country Club

Sun City Golf Course is a really solid place to get a round in—especially if you're newer to the game or just looking for something laid-back and enjoyable. The course is well maintained, simple in a good way, and totally playable without feeling like it's trying to destroy your self-esteem. Hard to explain, but the whole experience kinda felt like I stumbled into a 1970s Arizona desert golf tournament hosted by retired rock stars and sunburned free spirits. Not complaining at all—just has that kind of relaxed, retro energy that makes you want to throw on some aviators and casually slice a drive into the next fairway like it's no big deal. Course-wise, it’s got some sneaky little challenges tucked in here and there, but nothing too punishing. Definitely friendly for beginners, or anyone still figuring out their swing (like me). Good pace of play, and everyone I crossed paths with was friendly. Oh—and I saw actual coyotes roaming around like they were in charge of the tee times. Didn’t seem aggressive, just kinda strutted across the fairway like, “Yeah, we live here.” Very on brand for Arizona. All in all, I enjoyed it a lot. It’s not trying to be a PGA Tour stop—it’s just a nice, relaxed place to play some golf under the desert sun. I’d definitely play it again.

Very nice course. Tee boxes, fairways, and bunkers were great. Greens rolled pretty true. The main problem is people are too lazy to fix their ball marks. Come on people let's help out the course...

I loved my day at Sun City Country Club. My father and I were in town for the open. Rates were the most reasonable in town. Course was in very nice condition. Pace of play was outstanding for being a busy day. Really loved it.

Played this course today 9/22/2025. As a person who has played sun city north and south, this course seemed as though it was being left alone so the land could be sold. There was a team of grounds keepers out there mowing what little grass was in the fairways. They were mainly brown with very few areas of green like it had not been watered in months so the grounds crew was just going through the motions! The greens were not fast due to being semi dry. It was obvious there was some watering of the greens! It wasn’t a tough course but very poorly maintained! Until the owners decided what they are doing with the course, I cannot recommend playing it right now.

The course is in horrible condition—years of neglect. No pride in maintenance. No coolers, tees, towels, or scorecards in carts. No coolers of water on the course. Fairways are missing a ton of grass so you are hitting off the dirt and when there is grass in the fairway, then there is dead cut grass that hasn’t been cleaned up everywhere. All of the tee boxes are in horrible shape and have years worth of broken tees chopped up by the lawn mowers on them. This course is completely rundown – – stay away. For the same price, you can play extremely nice courses in Arizona.

Course is in good shape and fairly challenging. Practice areas are top notch. Definitely a must play if you’re in the Sun City area. Staff in the pro shop and restaurant were super friendly and cordial.

Fun track for the price point. Service in the pro shop was courteous. Check in on the Yelp app for a free small bucket of range balls was a nice perk!

Five stars for the Sun City Country Club's once a month, free, family/youth program. My oldest has been saying that he wants to learn how to golf. After seeing a shared post on Facebook about the program, we decided to check it out. Program is set up with stations for the kids to rotate through. Outside are chipping, putting and driving. Inside is a golf simulator. All stations are staffed. Kids are given instructions on what to do, as well as pointers while practicing. Several people may be engaging with the outside stations at a time. Inside simulator is one participant at a time. During the event, club are available to use free of charge. Participants are also welcome to bring their own clubs. They have really assembled the right team for the event. Everyone was so encouraging and patience. Did I mention patience?!?! They were really taking the time to try and help the kids understand the fundamentals of each station. What and how were explained along with why. This was all while keeping the instruction low pressure. My child left feeling motivated. To help encourage youth to continue with the sport, the club offers various youth programs. Regular youth lessons are available. Youth are welcome to purchase a bucket of balls, and use the driving range, even if not a member. (Parent/ adult supervision required.) Children who's parents take an online survey get to golf for free, with paid adult, until their their 18th birthday.

This is a nice course to play. It was in good condition overall. It has some challenging holes and mature trees if you are not in the fairway. The cart comes around every 4th or 5th hole. What a great deal for the price of admission.

Excellent experience. Well maintained course. Not too long from the back tees. Nice golf carts, but no GPS. We had a great time and will return.

My first experience at a golf course other than when I was a child, we went here for my birthday to learn which clubs are what and to hit some balls on the range and putt on the practice green. The manager was really a nice guy and was very friendly. It was a great day and I'm anxious to learn more!

Was lucky enough to play there today for a good cause. Four man scramble charity event today. Crew were all courteous and and helpful. It was a shotgun start, and were able to finish within four hours. Greens were very fast, fairway was in great shape, and the rough was a little thick, but not really thick enough to penalize you from missing the fairway. The course was a little wet at some areas, reason for it rained yesterday. We had a very good day, a great experience and would love to come back and play a regular round.

I know why this course always has an opening. Not only does their tee boxes have a mound in them (ball is either above or below your feet) but whoever selects their pin placement must be laughing his ass off when he places them. I played today and 90% of the holes was placed mid slope on the edges of their greens. One foot above the hole...barely tap the ball and next thing you know your chipping 40' again. I don't mind a challenging putt but damn...chill out with the pga Sunday tournament pins. Everyday golfers don't need that.

First time at restaurant. Great band. but on the menu (5 items only) everything was $18.00. A tiny cup of potato salad came with it. I have 3 fish with fries. Everything was served in a basket and plastic utensils. We thought for $18.00 we would get a good portion of something. Also, they put the gratuity on the bill without telling us or asking us (20%).

Played there last Saturday . Mostly twosome in front of us . The greens were very true and were fairly smooth . The grass was in consistent but typical for the summer . We ended up playing in 3.5 hours. No water on the course but the cart girl showed up on the 10 hole

One if the best places to play in the West valley. Course is in great shape, pricing that even the homeless can afford and a staff that is second to none. Kudos to all of them. Oh, shade trees available on every hole. Does it get any better? Not with your clothes on it doesn't!

The staff at this golf course treated myself and my friends horribly. I asked for a cart and the guy cleaning g them was extremely rude and unprofessional. Then we were just swinging our club's warming up, and the same rude old man came running out telling us it's not our tee time. This wasn't our first rodeo, we know how to play golf and how golf courses work. I was visiting from California and I tell you I will NEVER play here again..

Reasonable priced . There were no cart girls. The greens were very inconsistent. . They were hard as a rock. Greens would not hold. . Drinks were also reasonable.

Hard small greens don't hold any shots and fairways have lost a lot of grass or are browned out horribly. Pro Shop staff is indifferent. Upside is the bar/cafe staff is very polite when making the turn. No beverage cart service on a very hot day.

I've been taking the Saturday clinics at SCCC that are only five dollars a session and I've learned the use of different clubs. Andrew is a great teacher, his method of teaching is just right for me. I like Andrew's teaching so much that now I am taking private lessons with him and learning even more!

Got referred from a friend to check this place out. Played 18 holes and had a great time. Will be returning in the future.

Course is not in the greatest shape and doesn't look like it's tended too very well. No marshal, no beverage cart and had groups coming on randomly at different holes slowing up the pace of play. Service in the restaurant was fantastic and very friendly though and the food was pretty good for club food.

Have played there twice this week - the course is in GREAT condition! And except for the few pro-golfer wannabes, the pace of play is excellent, at about 4 hours per round. Sand traps are much improved over previous years. Thank you, Tom Loegering(SCCC owner)!

Just got done playing at Sun City Country Club. Can't say enough great things concerning the whole club. Wonderful customer service, very fun and challenging tree line course with plenty of shade and great food. When we arrived we were expecting to pay $25 each for a round of golf. Come to find out they have a Summer Pass Card for $125 for 10 rounds. All together we were going to pay $100 plus tax, instead we purchased the card and still have six rounds left. So glad we did because we will be back very soon.... :)

They should be ashamed to charge over $50 to golf this goat track, fairways are poor, greens are terrible, no sand in traps. What a disgrace!

Great value! Green fees include cart and range balls. I think they offer other specials regularly. Mature trees on the course come into play more than I am used to in this area. Looking forward to the next outing there.

A little disappointing for a 'Country Club Golf Course'.. The grounds were littered with leaves, no maintenance done and the greens were in disrepair on lots of holes. There was a very slow group in front of us and no marshall to monitor them. Very hot day and no cart girl, considering you can't bring on your own beverages. They do supply water and ice at the club house which was good. The tee boxes were pretty dry and sometimes difficult to push in your tees. Mini construction areas in some holes. No one working them though. Had planned on getting a month's membership for a winter visitor, but won't now.

I was warmly greeted by Jamey Lewis, General Manager who welcomed me to the course where I enjoyed an early morning tee-time. I was paired with Ray, who works at the course, who also made my experience more enjoyable despite my play... Grounds and greens in very good condition. A relaxing atmosphere at both the clubhouse and restaurant. Everything is kept neat and clean --- and the ice/water machine at the clubhouse patio is a plus on hot days.
