"Sun Island Resort For a surreal China experience, head out to Sun Island resorts just outside of the city. A pristine 18 hole course awaits you on this river island. And if you have kids, they'll love the water park here. You might want to pack a bag to spend the night here so you'll have enough time to ride the go-karts, get a massage or sign up for a session of laughter yoga. By AFAR Traveler , AFAR Local Expert"

Nice staycation for those that can't or don't want to travel too far from metro Shanghai. Resort is spread out with little information on where things are and a shuttle that needs to take you around. We went to the hotspring, mini farm, evening woods activity for kids (free) and fishing. The resort charges for every activity and it's not cheap. Food was OK. Not bad overall.

Beautiful hotel with a wide variety of activities for families. The barbecue is a must do, wonderful service and variety of food to choose from. Rooms are very spacious, transport is easily requested and effective. Easily a wonderful experience, we would repeat

We stayed in the galaxy suite. It was excellent, furnishings were good quality and looks well maintained, and room was extremely clean, even the kids’ play area. Heating was good too. Beautiful environment, close to nature. Only cons were that the lack of food choices onsite, it’s not a problem if you drive, and some of the facilities were not open in the colder months. Hot spring and animal farm were really enjoyable. Staff were all very kind, friendly and helpful. My kids enjoyed it so much we extended by an extra day. We will love to visit again during warmer months in summer to enjoy the beach.

First time to stay here in Sun Island with my daughter. The room was clean and the staff was very helpful. My daughter and I enjoyed the beachfront wave pool and the mini farm. It has many things for kids to do. I would recommend for everyone who have kids or just looking for staycation. Just one suggestion of improvement is the bouncy playground beside camping area. It would be great if is clean and sanitized.

Such an amazing place to relax if you live in Shanghai and don't want to travel too far. So many activities to do, the hot spring and mini farm is a really cool experience. Looking forward to come back during summer.

Clean, beautiful and full of things to do. Unfortunately the pools close at 6pm, which limits the time when you can only check in at 3pm. Good service and food options, with an amazing breakfast buffet but one needs a drivers license to ride the ATV's. Good way to get out of the city and see the stars.
