Hotel right on the lake with lake view. We booked Japanese style room which is spacious with tatami seating area and onsen style bathtub. The room also came with lake view. The tub although big, the water does fill up quickly and with good hot temperatures. The room might be a bit outdated but does feel clean. Breakfast, mediocre, can get rather busy. Don't expect much and its alright. Since the hotel is right on the lake and does provide free bicycle. I highly recommend to take advantage of this. The ride around the lake is fun and enjoyable. The view of the lake is beautiful.

Our group stayed for 2 Nights, had an amazing experience. Location is just perfect, if you have lake facing room then nothing like it. Rooms are good, clean & specious. Breakfast spread was good. Overall service was very satisfied. Mr. Sumant Travel Connect Pune (India)

I was pleasantly surprised for the stay at Sun Moon Lake Hotel. It is with great services and view. We were luckily with a room at 11th floor with lake view. The room was spacious with a tatami area. There is even a balcony with very nice view. Free bicycles are available to go around the loop of the lake. We had a good time there. A nice buffet style breakfast was included. Highly recommended.

The hotel is nice and has great lake view. Rooms are clean. Food is just ok. We paid for 2 rooms 4 nights. Due to endless rain day and night and unable to do outdoor activities we decided to leave after first 2 nights. Hotel management did not want to refund the remaining nights. Policy is policy we do understand that but still severe weather is not their fault or our fault. We are planning a bike tour in the near future but will not return to this property. We do travel the world and almost never cut a trip short. We were always able to get management to refund if we decided for a shorter stay.

⭐️⭐️ Another so-called 4-star hotel in Taiwan that fell well below expectations. We stayed 2 nights with breakfast included. On the first morning, I noticed many tiny midges flying over all the bread. I reminded the staff, and one waiter simply placed a cover over the bread without replacing any of it. Naturally, I didn’t touch the bread. On the second morning, the same thing happened again — but worse. This time, not only the bread, but also the fresh fruit was covered with midges and flies. I spoke to another staff member, who removed the bread to the kitchen but did not provide any replacement. I believed that would be reused for the next Buffet Session. This is how the restaurant handles food hygiene. They serve buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a low price (NTD 700 for guests), but based on what I saw, I would strongly caution others: avoid this restaurant unless you want to risk foodborne illness during your travels.

The Hotel location is acceptable. But the hotel management is not OK. The cleaning people even get into room when the RED don’t disturb is on the door. The room get smoking smell even they don’t know where it come from.

Great hotel in Sun Moon Lake. Clean and large rooms. The breakfast buffet had a great selection. The downside was one of the guests was coughing and sneezing and picking her nose and touching utensils with her dirty hands so it made the breakfast experience a little uncomfortable. Luckily we had gotten there before her and was able to finish up and leave. The hotel was great because it had bikes for use and a great recreation area.

This is the best hotel stay I experienced in my travel from US to Taiwan and Japan. The hotel lobby presented a panorama view of the scenic lake no matter what room you are in. Besides front desk service, the help desk and shuttle service were great to shop and boat ride in downtown area. The buffet breakfast and meal service were great with affordable prices. I enjoyed interacting with the food service staff and especially the restaurant manager. He managed well a group of friendly staff. I enjoyed a plate of braised beef which was the best I have had in the recent trips across the Pacific region.

Yelp
I'm surprised this hotel doesn't have any reviews. -Room The room we stayed in has an amazing lake side view, definitely worth the 300 price tag. There was a nice balcony where we watched the famous sun moon lake sunrise and a nice bath area with a window for that same amazing view. The room was meant for 2 people (two twin beds) but my mom, sister and I slept comfortably because there was a tatami room on the side, so we asked for more blankets and slept there. -Service Normally, I would not purchase a 300 dollar room, but the service at the hotel was superb. They offer free bikes for guests to ride the famous bike trails and the location of the hotel is right along the lake side trail, offering easy access to the shui se town area (15 min walk//5 min bike ride//~1 min shuttle stop) and is a nice beautiful bike ride to the xiang shan visitor center. They also offer free shuttle services to the shui se. On our last day, it was raining so hard that there was nothing to do. The sad part about visiting sun moon lake is that once the rain and fog comes, there seems to be nothing to do. luckily for us, the shuttle driver drove us to wen hu temple and President's pagoda for just $20. Finally, they have free buffet breakfast downstairs that offers a whole variety of good taiwanese and western breakfast options. the hotel concierge was very accommodating, answering all of our questions and helping during our short stay at the lake.

Yelp
Amazing hotel that is walking distance from town, yet it has a quiet tranquillity to it. The modern/sleek looking rooms have great views of the lake, free local cuisine breakfast, bicycle rentals, wifi and limited selection of international TV channels. Larger rooms also features a Japanese style dining area and hot tub overlooking the lake. Definitely a hotel worth considering when touring that area!

Yelp
world class chef good food professional service ok price (~$22 per person) the main dishes are excellent, the tomatoes are excellent, the drinks are excellent(not diluted but on the sweet side), the deserts are just ordinary and can be skipped. side note about the hotel: One of the famous tea egg places in TaiWan is just one minuet down the road if you turn right from the main entrance. The hotel also provides in house bike rental so you don't need to go to one of the many many bike rental stores in the area.
