"The Sun Voyager The Sun Voyager is a sculpture by Jón Gunnar Árnason. The Sun Voyager is a dreamboat, an ode to the sun. Intrinsically, it contains within itself the promise of undiscovered territory, a dream of hope, progress, and freedom. The sculpture is located by Sæbraut, by the sea in the center of Reykjavík. I had seen this sculpture in so many photos before we went to Iceland and really wanted to see it in person. When we got there we had the most amazing sunset and the sculpture itself is very beautiful. I am really happy I got to see it."

We went for the midnight sun because of the stunning views. It’s a beautiful place to sit and watch the sunrise or sunset.

Absolutely beautiful. The Sun Voyager sculpture is simple yet striking, with the mountains and ocean as a perfect backdrop. It feels both powerful and peaceful. A must-see when in Reykjavík!

A beautiful sculpture from steel with a shape look like a viking ship. It's near the sea and with a path walk along side. A path that can be use to walking, jogging, cycling, etc. It's beautiful. With calm breeze, it's suitable to go there, even if just tot ake a picture

A sculpture along the Reykjavik waterfront paying homage to Icelands viking history. Beautiful at sunset. No parking here but you can swing in for a quick photo as long as one is with the car.

Very interesting sculpture along the coastline, definitely a must see when in Reykjavik. The snowy hills create a really nice backdrop if you're looking for a scenic photo. We hired e-scooters to get to it (Hopp), much faster than walking.

Nice and interesting place to stop by while walking along the coast. It has sea view from one side and mountains from the other. Clouds do make special effect on pictures as well. Must stop place to enjoy the view.

I have mixed feelings about the Sun Voyager. Part of me was excited as I imagined it coming alive and crab walking into the ocean as the intro to a futuristic sci-fi movie. The other part of me felt a slight disappointment that it didn’t give me any sense of wonder or appreciation for the sea voyages of Icelandic people from the past. I left checking the box on the travel itinerary, and that’s about it.
