This was our favorite beach on Miyakojima – actually, our favorite across all four Okinawan islands we visited! This is the place where you really understand what "Miyako Blue" means – the water is stunningly clear and vibrantly blue, almost unreal.
It seems to be quite a well-known beach in Asia, as we noticed tourist buses stopping by regularly. The groups typically just take photos and leave within minutes, so it never felt crowded or disruptive.
Facilities are minimal: there’s a paid shower and restroom next to the parking lot, but nothing directly on the beach – no shops, bars, or food stalls, which actually adds to the untouched, peaceful vibe. We did a bit of snorkeling – you can see some fish, but it’s nothing extraordinary in that regard. Still, the water alone is worth the visit.
Highly recommend for a relaxing beach day surrounded by natural beauty!
