Sunayama beach

Sunayama Beach is a stunning spot known for its soft white sands and crystal-clear waters. Its infinite shallow water area makes it perfect for wading and relaxing. This is an amazing beach – truly a hidden gem! The sea is beautifully blue with stunning gradients, and the natural surroundings are breathtaking, with rocks and cliffs lining the shore. The sand is soft and clean! Not many people come here often, which is why the beach remains so pristine. One of the best beaches in Miyakojima! Highly recommended! 🏝️✨🌊⛰️💙

This beach is so pretty and peaceful. You can see fish with the naked eye and the water is so clear. You can chill under the cave if you need shade. Overall one of my fav beaches here in Miyakojima

My favourite beach in Miyakojima! Especially at low tide, you can enjoy soaking up sunshine at knee level waters. The rock formation at the sides gives the beach a more distinctive character.

This is a small beach with so much potential but it appears that people haven’t respected it which is very sad. There was trash and just random things on the ground. We didn’t attempt to swim here so I’m not sure how that is. The water/views were still beautiful though.

The beach is soooo amazing! The shallow beach stretches out to quite far into the ocean, so you can walk or swim in water to really far. The rocks are being fenced off because there is potential falling for them, so be careful when you are near. It was a bit cloudy when we went but I can see it being a beautiful sunset place.

I want to like this tiny little beach but can’t. It’s totally abused, unmanaged, and dirty. It’s disappointing and sad to see the locals allow this sacred place to fall into such disrepair. The beach is on the rent-a-car drive circuit so has a lot of traffic. The parking lot is fairly large with toilets and a shower facility. The beach itself is a striking small crescent surrounded by coral escarpment. The south escarpment has been formed into a large natural arch. Unfortunately, the arch has been fenced off with some very ugly fencing (due to falling rocks) and warning signs, so forget about that insta photo. Trash and litter impair the beach area and lots of plastic bottles just thrown away (the vending machines at parking lot do not have a waste receptacle so people just toss the bottles). Rusty beach chairs are lined up for rent from an unlicensed vendor. It’s just so sad to see such a wonderful natural place be treated with disrespect by both locals and visitors alike.
