"In a pine forest in Wisconsin Dells, Sundara was one of the first destination spas in the Midwest and one of just a few to offer Ayurvedic-inspired spa treatments. Sanskrit for “beautiful,” Sundara says they interpret beauty as both an inner and outer quality. The spa offers an extensive menu of treatments, from CBD massages and Reiki to salt bath treatments and Cryo T-Shock facials, which use periods of cold followed by heat to reactivate collagen and stimulate elastin. This year, Sundara added a Wellsystem Wave massage, which uses the heat and pressure of water to relieve stress. Guests can take a dip in one of the heated outdoor pools (including a swim-up bar stirring up craft cocktails) or an indoor pool area with walls cast from the rock formations along the Wisconsin River. Suites feature spa baths and views of the surrounding woodland. The premises is all adults, with no electronics—to fully disconnect and recharge." - CNT Editors

Exceeded our expectations. Check in was smooth. We did the 10 min. Tour for the layout, tours 2x an hour. Food and drinks were excellent. Beautiful grounds. Relaxed in the hammocks, did the trail hike, and participated in the included classes. Saw deer multiple times. Beautiful boat cruise on Lake Delton. The services are the most expensive part. Rooms have amazing high end features. Service from all staff was great! Felt very retreat-like. We came on a Tuesday so maybe more low-key during the week. We loved it!

Recently spent a luxurious spa day with family at Sundara. My Riverstone facial was sublime! You can literally spend the entire day relaxing and enjoying the amenities. I was equally impressed with every staff member. Very attentive and friendly and professional. Can’t wait to go again! Worth every penny!

I was looking forward to a nice relaxing birthday weekend but unfortunately we did not really enjoy our experience at Sundara. At check in, we were told we could use the facilities before our room was available, but no one showed us around. No robes and slippers were provided either. We were both very confused about where to go, and what facilities were available to use. I wandered around the changing room in my full winter coat (clearly out of place since everyone else had robes on). The changing room attendant seemed to ignore me, until I asked if I could get a robe and slippers. I always try to treat everyone with respect and kindness, but for some reason, she was not very kind to me. After that, I was still trying to make the most of it and enjoy myself but the facilities were filled with lots of people. The baths were lukewarm, and the outdoor heated pool was less than lukewarm. We left after that, a bit frustrated. Later in the evening we checked in to our room. I will say the amenities are nice and the bed is very comfortable and it was enjoyable to sleep in. I used the shower on the hottest possible setting, and somehow that was also lukewarm. Overall this place was just unfortunately not worth the cost to me, and I wanted to warn other people who may be hoping for a peaceful place with hot baths. Update: We were never told about spa tours during our visit.

Just finished my first visit to Sundara. It's a slice of serenity in a very commercialized tourist town. While there, you completely forget about the hustling and busyness of it all. It was refreshing to not be bothered by kids running around or people glued to their cell phone. Staff was so pleasant and helpful. Lots of activities and refreshments included in base price. Very worth it. Everything was so amazing! I will definitely be back!

Everything was amazing! I stayed from a Tuesday through Thursday and I liked how the common areas weren't very busy. I would recommend doing the spa tour when you arrive, and you can leave your luggage at the desk and they will bring it up to your room when it's ready. There was a lot of helpful information given in that tour. But really, there is nothing bad that I could say and I had no problems besides a tiny housekeeping issue that was immediately taken care of. The spa amenities, the food, the services, the staff - were all outstanding! After reading some of the reviews and issues some had, I didn't see anything near those things listed. I highly recommend this place and I can't wait to schedule my next visit. I want to go back right now.

Lovely girls weekend with my Mom and sisters. We got the Wilderness Retreat room, which had an amazing view and the private hot tub was so nice. The room was made up with separate beds which I really appreciated, and they even had a small birthday gift for my mom. Spa services were lovely, staff was very attentive. We even took a sound bath class, so relaxing!

Google
Sundara was a great overall experience. The rooms are spacious and clean. The entire resort is well kept and exudes relaxation. The spa ritual was a 10/10. I docked a star because it's very pricey. Lunch for 2 was $75, breakfast w/ one alcoholic beverage was $95. Also the services are 50 minutes and they really get you in and out. I had a pedi, massage and facial and all were very rushed. Overall I enjoyed and will be back with my spouse because of all the coed amenities but solo trips I prefer the Grand Geneva, where you can get a massage and facial and not feel rushed.

Google
Absolutely fantastic stay. This is where you go to rest, recharge and relax! Highlights included best massage i've had in a long time. The outdoor bar provided food and drinks and they were amazing. There is extra attention to keeping everything spotless and smelling good. We received a lovely welcome gift as it was our anniversary. Room service breakfast was outstanding. Gift shop folks were extra helpful. The only downside to the entire trip, was the door to our room had a huge gap at the bottom so we could hear every convo and steps from people walking by, and at night the lights from the hallway. It was a little scary too, so we put a rolled up towel down there. I'm not talking a little gap either. I've traveled all over the world and have never seen anything like this at a hotel. Everything else, absolutely perfect.

Yelp
LOVED the relaxing vibes as soon as we drove up the long driveway. I tagged along with some friends last minute and was treated to a fun experience. When you arrive, you're provided with a soft and luxurious robe and some plastic flip flop style slippers. Then they instruct you about their relaxing cleansing ritual that starts with a shower with this nice exfoliating scrub, a hot sauna, then 3 cycles of hot tub, then cold tub. I was afraid of the cold tub at first, but it felt exhilarating if you can get past the first 30 seconds. It's easier if you go in quickly instead of creeping in slowly. They have several relaxing pools inside and outside. It was fun to try them all. One of them was next to an outdoor fireplace and one of them had a swim up bar. They ask all of the guests to use their quiet "spa voices" when in common areas so that we never lose the relaxation vibe. Sadly, all of their services were booked that day so I was not able to try their massages or mani-pedi appointments. We also had some food and drinks while we were there. Jaggery Tea - delicious and very sweet! You can add hot water or if this complimentary drink is too sweet for you. But don't miss out! Cranberries, Walnuts, Coffee and Hibiscus tea were also included in the complimentary snacks area. For lunch, we tried their upstairs restaurant. Steak and Mushroom Flatbread Pizza (3/5) the steak chunks were tough and chewy. The other flatbread pizzas were much better. Tuna Tartare (3/5) Sundara Signature Salad (3/5) Flourless Chocolate Torte (5/5) our group of 5 ladies couldn't finish this one massive and filling dessert. Crème Brûlée (4/5) It's also so sad that they don't allow you to take pictures once you're inside. I would have loved to show off their tranquil spaces and their food and drinks. We got a tour of our friend's presidential suite and it was gorgeous! It had 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, full sized laundry, and a nice sized deck with gorgeous nature views.

Yelp
We had an incredible stay at Sundara Spa! When you turn into the resort you drive up a road surrounded by beautiful trees and the golf course. They have a parking area right next to the entrance for when you check in. We were only staying for 1 night but they let you check in as early as 8am for access to the resort, spa, and amenities. Our room wasn't ready until about 3pm but we could use the locker rooms. The check in area is connected to their gift shops so while we waited for the next available spot at the check-in counter we could browse. They have lots of high quality items including lounge wear, athletic wear (Beyond Yoga), candles, lotion, etc. Check-in was super helpful. They gave us a map, reviewed our spa treatment itinerary and offered to bring around bikes if we were interested in a bike ride. So many amazing amenities! Once we checked in we could move our car to the main lot. We first checked out their beautiful walking trails that take you by their golf course and then through some woods. We went about 2 miles. We then came back to the locker rooms. We were given a locker at check in. The locker included robes and slippers for us to wear around. They also provided directions on how to lock your locker. That's where we kept our items until our room was ready. Really easy to use and great to store our stuff, especially since cell phones weren't allowed in the spa area, pools, etc. I would say the locker rooms themselves could use some upgrades, it did feel a bit dated. However they had great shower rooms, changing rooms, etc. I especially loved their soaps, lotion, and shampoo/conditioner. We couldn't believe how many amazing spaces they had. 2 different outdoor pools, comfortable outdoor seating with fire pits, spa area, whirlpool area with cool built-in rocks, silent rooms, relaxation rooms, silent garden, etc. So many places to relax. One of the most relaxing places I've ever been. I was impressed with the staff. There were always freshly stocked towels, full water and delicious hibiscus tea, snacks, etc. Tons of staff all around the grounds. I loved our room. We got into our room about an hour before check in. Everything was so clean. The room was spacious and had beautiful views of the grounds. We were here celebrating our wedding anniversary and Sundara generously had chocolates waiting in our room for us with a personal note. Very nice touch! We really enjoyed our time here and highly recommend it. Everything was high quality coupled with excellent hospitality. A great place to relax, unwind, and recharge. We will be back!

Yelp
Went with a girls group. Paid a deposit to book the room. Had the other half of the hefty price ready to check in. Fine print in the 5 page email that I didn't see as I read in a couple of places you actually pay up the whole bill at the end. No. The staff took my phone scrolled down down down and zoomed in to where it said. Pay in full time of arrival. Which is fine. But then it says. You also need to pay $200 per person per night. It was a whole thing. Someone else was made aware of this and they could t afford to pay that so they left no refund. We were able to make it work. But they actually charged me 3 times about 1,600 somehow... took 2 week for the reimbursement to happen. They were so rude and coy I NEED a REFUND. But no. So yeah anyway. Very limited services available. Some amenities were down... not worth the price tag. Good theory though.

Yelp
The good: Topanga for facial was phenomenal! Highly recommend her. The infinity pool is cool! Great service from bartender on the spa side. Excellent Bloody Mary and burger. Enjoyed the Nidra Meditation. The bad: Check in staff were not knowledgeable or welcoming. Big miss. Had an 80 minute massage on day one that was not good. Couldn't wait for it to be over. About 20% of the people ruin the experience for the other 80%. Taking photos, smoking, loud, and refusing to be quiet, even in quiet spaces. Staff do nothing. They need to be educated at check in. Unlikely I will go back.

Leanne S.

Yelp
All treatments and classes were booked up by day spa people. Paid over $1200 for two nights and couldn't get a treatment or get in a class. A group of about 6 people were outside in the pool being very loud the whole time I was out there. With all the signs posted everywhere telling people to be respectful of other spa goers and talk quietly, I think it's pretty rude. I spoke with staff about this twice! Nobody ever came out to ask them to be quiet. They were annoying everybody else outside and didn't care. I will not be back to this place. Definitely not worth the price for what's included. The bath ritual was all I really enjoyed.

Yelp
I haven't been to many spas, but I had the best sleep in a LONG time thanks to Sundara! We booked a weekend stay and check in was on Saturday at 3. We went to our room, changed into the robes they gave us and then went down for a quick tour of the facilities before going to our massage, then went to the restaurant for dinner afterwards before heading to check out the pools and hot tubs which were fairly empty in the evening (we traveled the second weekend of Sept). Overall, it's a beautiful resort with lots of quiet places, spa music playing at the pool (and in your room), hot tubs with cold eucalyptus towels, body scrubs that you can use any time, saunas, and fruit, granola, teas and water available everywhere. I loved the swim up bar, and the lounge chairs in the pool. There's lots of places to explore (including a walking trail) and included activities (we opted for yoga but there's different types of yoga and meditation classes as well as a boat cruise that we missed.) The best part was the no phone policy- which unfortunately I saw someone break on my last day but I personally enjoyed having to disconnect and just relax. The restaurant itself is okay- nothing to write home about but nice to have onsite so you don't have to break your 'zen' by finding food offsite AND you get to wear your robe here. The only downside was it was unclear what expectations are if you have massage services after checkout. We were allowed to stay on the resort As long as we wanted, but wasn't sure if we could still borrow robes or not or if we were okay wearing regular clothes while we waited.

Nicole K.

Yelp
We had a fabulous spa day at Sundara. The amenities were lovely. Loved that it was a phone/electronics free zone, too. The amount of alcohol available was a little strange & definitely influenced people to talk a little louder than I think was suggested by the rules, but it didn't impair our experience so no biggie. Our massages were great and very relaxing, and we loved the bath ritual. Good food, great service, and great atmosphere overall. Would highly recommend!

Jonathan H.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was worth it. Great service, relaxing atmosphere. Did splurge for the room with private hot tub but it was definitely worth it for the view and experience. Definitely plan on coming back again for our next spa / relaxation getaway.

Vicki L.

Yelp
Spotless spa. Loved the amenities. Wonderful outdoor pools. Enjoyable facial. Healthy lunch options.

Lisa L.

Yelp
Waited to check in, untrained/unwelcoming personnel in spa lounge, trash and laundry bins overflowing, spa overcrowded, our room smelled of something rotten, carpet worn and ripped, food mediocre. The spa services were good but this is not a 5 star resort/spa and is not worth the cost of a room.

Lynn M W.

Yelp
I was extremely excited to check into Sundara Inn & Spa. I planned a wkd trip for my colleagues as a thank you and reward trip. Checking in on Friday was fabulous. Great customer service (Mila) super communicative and friendly. Our villa was beautiful and cozy. Saturday- however- was a different story. The shuttle never came to pick us up (we schd when we chkd in). We walked to the spa (nice jaunt) but found the staff to be unfriendly and unknowing and extremely unhelpful. There was no eye contact when conversing and no customer service case when asking/answering questions. We chose to wear clothes & change into robes once we arrived but they were none available ( they found smalls for us ... worked for one out of the four) Our tour was poor with little to no explanation - it was overly crowded with people which limited our experience. The drinks & food @ the swim up bar over prices and mediocre at the most. (Bar staff -Tas- super nice ) My facial was average and rushed. (But she did give a sample for milia issues) My massage was only 40 mins instead of 50 - ave at best. (My colleagues experience their first facials & liked them - I was happy about that.) Being a five star resort- maybe my standards were too high since I've visited multiple spas in the IS & abroad. But for what we paid and what we received- definitely not worth the price.

V. R.

Yelp
5 star amenities may exist. However, the spa itself is far from five stars. The staff is lacking and undertrained. Garbage cans need to be emptied before they overflow, areas that are obviously dirty on walls and ceilings within guest view should be cleaned. Parking is a joke, especially if you are staying in the winter time. Most resorts with these amenities would have valet. I appreciate Wyndham as a brand however, it's possible that the luxury market is not for them I will be staying elsewhere in the future.

Kristen L.

Yelp
We spent a Thursday night here. It was myself and a girlfriend. We didn't book any services but just relaxed and used the pool and hot tubs. We could not have predicted that we would have 80° in April but lucked out and we were able to really enjoy the outdoors both in the pool and dining. We had a light dinner outside. Margherita pizza and chips, salsa and guacamole. And a glass of wine. It was good. Next morning we had a nice breakfast in the restaurant. I had a lox and bagel plate that was great.

Crystal F.

Yelp
This place is SO OVERRATED AND OVERPRICED!!! DO NOT GO!!! Several of the lights were burnt out in our $800 ROOM!!! Bars were closed or no bartender to be found at the pools. Pools close early. Some fruit is offered for free but that's all. The restaurants food wasn't great and 2 entrees cost $84, no appetizers . Again OVERPRICED & they add 20% gratuity to everything. No one is around to help or guide you. Basically a hotel with lots of water. Couldn't get a massage or anything cuz they were booked?!? Hardly anyone was there!! Coffee was cold. Couldn't check in until 4pm. Have to leave by 11. Would be "ok" at best for half the price. Not being able to check in until 4:00pm and having to check out at 11:00am is a huge downfall. For $800/night you should at least get 24 hrs to use the facility, especially since the facilities close at 9:00 and 10:00pm.

Bob ..

Yelp
I scheduled two (ultimately mediocre) massages and two basic pedicures. I also treated my daughter to a mocktail and enjoyed a (small) glass of Champagne with our two modest lunches. After the additional automatic upcharges and gratuities/service fees, my day at the "spa" came to $975. I am not kidding. Every aspect of Sundara is designed to maximize profits. UNBELIEVABLY overpriced.

Yelp
My aunt treated me to the Sundara Inn & Spa for five days and four nights two weeks ago. Overall, we do recommend it. It was my aunt's first trip to a spa of any kind, let alone a destination spa, and she very much enjoyed her stay. I would say my expectations were higher than hers because I am a frequent massage therapy guest and have been to many spas around the world and to two top U.S. destination spas. For me, the best part of the stay was the friendliness and professionalism of the Sundara staff members. We would both like to recognize and thank: -Oksana, MVP of Sundara, excellence in every category!!! We miss you, Oksana!!! xoxo -Tyler for so sweetly helping us with our luggage -Caly at check-in desk -Carla server -Boat Captain Ryan for being so AWESOME! -Scott from Maintenance for being so nice, helpful and overall wonderful! -Francisco server -Jeff for so kindly helping us with our luggage We stayed in the Golf Suite with the HUGE hot tub in an enclosed porch and it was nice. Thankfully it was quiet in the suite. We didn't hear anyone next door to us, just a few people in the hallway every so often. My aunt loved the bedroom, with a comfy bed, TV, chair and a view of the hot tub and the golf course outside. I took the couch and it was fine, I didn't bother using the pull-out bed. The main room has a small fridge, a sink, coffee and hot tea, utensils, plates and bowls with plenty of seating and a TV. Ability to adjust suite temperature was available, which was good. Adjustable lighting was also appreciated. The walk-in shower was very nice with rain, hand-held and wall jets and what I would expect at a destination spa hotel. And, being an aunt and niece we really appreciated having a water closet. Double sinks were helpful and bathroom lighting was exceptional. And restaurant food was good. I have been to Château Elan in Atlanta and to the Greenbrier and in comparison, I had no suggestions for either following my stays. However, what would have VASTLY improved the Sundara experience: -Bathtub in the bathroom -Luggage stands -Full-length mirror in the main room or bathroom -Lightweight robe option for overnight guests; I was never able to wear the robe because it was just too hot -Management enforce quiet in spa waiting room - day guests especially did NOT pay attention to spa voice signage - inform and reiterate this at check-in too please -In-room microwave to heat up restaurant leftovers, coffee and tea -Hardwire into your process prior to EVERY guest arrival to ALWAYS have suite's enclosed patio checked for bugs and loose screens (from golf balls). There were bugs flying around inside the enclosed patio. We did not call down for pest control because we were already there using the suite and I have severe allergies; I didn't want to have to smell bug killer/repellent. -Prior to guest reservation booking, recommend informing guest WHERE the room is located. I am an American with permanent disabilities that make it very difficult for me to walk any distance. Our suite was literally at the end of the building. For me it was a 15-minute walk to the elevator, and I had to sit and rest at least once or twice during the walk. My aunt is temporarily disabled and for her it was also a difficult walk to the elevator every time we left the room. -Also confusing was we were on the 3rd floor but our room was 2415. Odd. -View outside suite was of three dead trees, not pleasing. Please replace with live trees. -Various 2nd/3rd floor hallway carpeting not at all spa-like and very visually unappealing. Really unappealing. Like being at a casino. Total disconnect. -We'd planned to order movies to watch each evening but surprisingly that wasn't available. -For spa guests, recommend therapists pay attention to the form each guest fills out. I had put on mine I need very deep pressure, with knuckles and elbows, and none of my therapists came even close to applying normal pressure, let alone deep pressure. I don't normally like to leave constructive feedback like the above, but if I were the owner of Sundara I would want to know these things so I would have more returning guests. Due to the level of financial investment needed for a Sundara stay, it behooves Sundara to really take a look around with fresh eyes so it may truly deliver the promised spa-like, zen experience at EVERY guest interaction. The little things mentioned above would make a HUGE impact! Thank you! -Erin G., guest of Betty P.

Yelp
I've been in the spa biz for a long time, so I know a lot about being a spa goer as well as a spa owner. I have also been to Sundara Spa for years, actually from the first week they opened. Sundara is a gorgeous, world class spa but the over priced, mediocre, -50 minute spa treatments for $250 with a mandatory added on $40.00 facility service fee is not worth it. There are many more luxurious spas with far better therapists in the area or just drive down to Madison & go to the Edgewater Spa right on Lk. Mendota.

Yelp
If you are looking for a relaxing and beautiful place to spend a day or a few days.... THIS IS IT! We had the most incredible time staying for just 1 night to celebrate my husbands birthday. You can get there as early as you want the day of your stay so you can start enjoying all of their amenities. I highly recommend going when it's cold out. Their outdoor heated pools and hot tub are just perfect! The staff is so friendly and the facility and rooms are SPOTLESS!!! Incredible.

Joceline P.

Yelp
Beautiful and clean facilities. I felt very rejuvenated after my time here. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I was an out of town guest of my friend who lives in Wisconsin a few weeks ago. She booked us a day at the Sundara, which is $45 per day per person on top of any food, drink or specialized services. We signed up ahead of the day for a yoga class which is covered by the daily fee. We weren't able to secure spots in any of the other class offerings that day. We also scheduled for massages after the yoga class, a specialized service. Positives: The facility is outstanding, calming, beautiful, well-appointed in each area, and tucked away in a natural setting so it definitely feels like a getaway. We had a lovely, tasty lunch in the restaurant that was serene, and the staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and did not rush us at all. The massage therapists we each had were tremendous! Hands down the best I have had in a long time; skillful, receptive to any requests, efficient use of time, professional on all levels. Negatives: Communication between some staff seemed lacking. There was confusion about the yoga instructor who was to pick us up/when/where, and ultimately we didn't get to the class. Management seemed to doubt our recounting that we had followed the directions we had been given for getting to the yoga class when we checked in. We were offered complimentary meal vouchers on the next visit but they were not able to refund the daily fees. We both also discovered that our massage therapists were confused that neither of us arrived with our consent/health forms. Each of us informed the therapists that we had completed them upon arrival and that they had been kept at the front desk. Each therapist had us sign a duplicate form before completing our services.

Yelp
Absolutely love Sundara! Tried other spas and this one is always the fav. Their reservations call line isn't the best or most helpful, but the service there is amazing. The environment is so relaxing. From the moment you walk in I swear your pulse and blood pressure go down. I love that they have multiple indoor and outdoor pools as well as hot tubs. They have a spa menu which can be ordered from throughout the day. They have a free purifying bath ritual of multiple steps that include rainfall shower, steam room, sauna, exfoliation, hot tub, and cool plunge pool. It's in a coed area. They have a really great outdoor year round pool and hot tub surrounded by fire pits. It's odd to swim outside in WI during winter but it was so relaxing. If you want services I would suggest booking as soon as you know you are going. Services fill up fast. I had a seasonal bath treatment with relaxing massage. Also tried the salt room as a $25 add on I believe. They also offer guided meditation, lots of quiet no talking rooms, and no electronics in spa areas. It's hard to break free of the phone but it's worth it! Pics below of are woodland retreat with outdoor soak. Tip: prices for stays are significantly cheaper on weekdays (not Friday/sat)

Going to Sundara is a yearly tradition for me and my mom! It's incredible. The massage therapists and facialists are outstanding. The facilities are perfectly kept up and there's nothing better than spending time in a warm pool during the cold winter. The food has gotten better in the last couple of years too. We love it here!

Yelp
I came here while staying at the Wilderness Resort with my s/o and kids. We took a mini getaway from them to come enjoy the spa. Not only was this a beautiful relaxing place (which we were able to use all day with the purchase of our couples massages) the drinks were amazing too. There is a beautiful infinity pool that is outside and heated so it's very nice in the colder months as well. My s/o and I are already planning a weekend getaway there! Definitely will be back. The staff was also amazing! Lila and Andraei did our massages and they are with the request for them!

Yelp
The services were incredible, food and drinks were reasonable, crowded in the women's locker room, environment was very relaxing and peaceful and well Maintained, no one asked about Botox which one of us had the week before. Cant wait to go back!!

Yelp
I was invited by my aunt to spend 4 nights and 5 days at the Wyndham houses at Sundara Inn and Spa under her timeshare. One of my aunts and my mother were kicked out of the pool bar along with maybe 6 to 8 other people that were staying at Sundara Inn. They took their belongings out of the spa lockers, put them in trash bags and knotted them, and then told them they can come back to get their belongings at 9am. Eventually they got their trash bag of belongings tossed inside, which included their credit cards and ID's. They refused to allow them in the locker room to change. Mind you not, it's winter and 17 degrees out. They also would not allow them to wear the robes to the Wyndham houses, and they were soaking wet with wet hair. They refused to allow them to have the valet driver take them up the hill to the Wyndham house, and my aunt had no shoes on and was in her swimsuit. After finding out my aunt had knee surgery, they decided to give her a ride, but my mother already started walking back. The manager got in the SUV with the valet driver to drop my aunt off, and they got out of the car at the house too. A lot more happened, such as they were rude and disrespectful with no fore warning of last call. No courtesy to ask them to remove their belongings from the locker because they were closing them. All the employees stood in a line with folded arms and herded the two of them to the doors. The Sundara Inn guests were forced into the elevator to their rooms. One woman employee put her hands on my aunt. My mother and aunt were told there is a feud between Wyndham and Sundara, but that is not the paying customers business or problem. When they dropped my aunt off at the Wyndham house, I was outside already and asked the valet driver for his name, because he had no name badge, and he bluntly ignored me standing right next to him. I asked him about 3 to five times for his name. While my aunt was trying to find her key to get in the house, the manager raised her voice at me and said, "let her in now!" I responded, "I don't have my key on me, but we already knocked and my other aunt will be to the door soon." I spoke with the manager, Leigh, before they got in the SUV, and asked for the valet driver's name. She said he doesn't need to provide his name if he doesn't want to. As a "reputable" company, that is 100% wrong. My aunt is a committed VIP to Wyndham at Sundara Inn and Spa, year after year. We spent a good amount of money at this company, and to be treated this way is unacceptable and down right embarrassing. An official complaint is being made, but this is for anyone who chooses to stay at Wyndham at Sundara In and Spa, or just Sundara Inn and Spa. Just a heads up as well. No matter how many people are in your party, only two people are allowed in the spa at a time. We had 5 people and we had two rooms, but according to them it doesn't matter if we have two room numbers, because we were all staying together. I am from Las Vegas, NV, and I have worked hospitality in the hotel industry for 10 years. This was bizarre, disrespectful and embarrassing not just for them to be treated that way, but embarrassing for Sundara Inn and Spa for treating paying customers in such a disgraceful way.

Yelp
This was our second visit to Sundara. We went the first two nights of our honeymoon last summer and then again this week for our anniversary. We stayed two nights and had a good time, but overall, fell a little short for the money we were spending. I've heard that Sundara was bought out by a big chain and that was in line with our experience this week. Pros: rooms are clean, spacious, and relaxing. The showers and tubs are great as well. The pool and hot tub areas are well done and relaxing. Not a ton of people during the week so we enjoyed that. Breakfast was good. Cons: service was subpar... the staff wasn't very well trained so several of our interactions were a bit awkward. Spa services are super expensive for what you get. We did a 50 minute couples massage and they add in an automatic 20% gratuity to bring our total to $370 for that alone. If you're looking for a good get away, this is a nice place in the Dells. I'd recommend going during the week for reduced rates and avoid spa services.

Yelp
Sundara is more like a getaway with spa features than an actual spa. Food isn't really healthy, and I have never seen so much alcohol at a spa. For the price they charge, the service level is really low. It is clear the staff have no idea what a $500 night or more spa should be like. The best parts are the shower and the outdoor setting. Dinner is served in an odd breakfast type room, there was no indication that we were in a pandemic, the meditation room is locked and when I called they didn't offer to open it, we missed housekeeping and no one asked. There is really no service level here and it is so hard for me to understand how they can charge so much. We had a nice time regardless but we won't be coming back. Better to take the money and buy a flight to a real spa.

Yelp
For the expense, do NOT go here. With the amount you are charged, this is nowhere NEAR worth it. For what we spent on a basic room, I should not have a dorm-like feel, an empty frig, a dirty carpet, no janitorial service between days, need to call for fresh towels, and nothing "extra". $1000+ for two nights and I'd expect a bottle of champagne, drinks in the frig, something! Nope. Two pieces of chocolate. Thanks. Most perplexing thing: our first night there we went to have a drink outside. High 70's during the day and the fire pits, staged all over the grounds, are lit. Not sure who wants to sit next to a fire pit then, but they look nice. At 8pm, outside in low 60's, perfect night for a fire and a drink and they refused to light the fire pits. What??? Asked the waitress to ask the manager and she came back and explained management did not want them lit. That made 0 sense. We left for the night. Ridiculous. Even more ridiculous were each bill. Mind you, you're already paying an exorbitant amount to stay there. For each drink or meal, you receive a bill to sign to your room. Mixed drinks were $12-16 a piece. High, but ok. Then, under the total is a "service fee". This came out to 20% of the bill. So they are building in a tip? No one explains that to you. Yet, under the service fee was a line marked "additional tip". What the hell? Oh, and there was also a "premium tax" under the state tax. Premium? What was premium about sitting out in the dark for some over-priced drinks? By the time you were done, you were paying more for some basic apps and drinks than you would at a fine restaurant. Insane. Listen, we forced ourselves to relax and just take the overcharging. In fact, I LOOK for ways to laude places I stay. But now that we're home and we realized how little we got for the cost of this place, we realized, it would have been better to drive to the American Club or the like. You can get far more for far less elsewhere. Avoid the expense.

Yelp
This is the best spa in the state! We came back for another couple of days because we loved it so much in January. The service and attention to detail is exceptional. There's so much to do, you won't get bored for a second. When you are tired of scrubs and steam rooms, you can hit the outdoor pools, hot tubs and swim up bar. They have free classes every day, and a fantastic restaurant attached. I am thinking it might be time to join buy their passport because I plan to make this an every couple month trip. It reenergizes my mental and physical being. Love this place!

Stacy B.

Yelp
We enjoyed a great girl's getaway with wonderful food and awesome amenities. Unfortunately the only complaint is that the staff at the front desk are pretty rude.

Luis R.

Yelp
First time at Sundara for my wife and I and it was amazing . Beautiful place tucked in the woods to come and relax in your robe and leave all the noise behind . Cell phones are allowed only in your private room . The staff is very friendly, food was delicious and the room was very clean and neat . Can't wait to come back again

Yelp
This was a surprise getaway for my wife and I for our pre-20th anniversary. I say pre, because my wife wanted to go to Mexico but only told me 1 week before departure and didn't have a current passport - bummer! So...I planned a surprise trip to the spa as an alternative and it could not have been a bigger hit! The best part is she had no idea of the Dells had a high quality spa, so when we pulled into town she was totally expecting waterpark. Firstly the resort is intimately small and definitely close to everything you might want in the Dells if you felt like getting away for a little more action like a waterpark, but it is situated perfectly so that you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. The pool area with its bar and quiet areas was absolutely spectacular. We love Wisconsin, but we never felt like we were in Wisconsin the entire time on property. Rooms were spacious and luxurious with all the amenities too. I'll public spaces her electronics free - there wasn't one iPad, phone or laptop to be seen which was sooo refreshing. The staff was super helpful and attentive with out being overbearing - a really fine balance. Food was as good as being in Napa- yes I said it - Napa! Tuna Poke, Burrata and heirloom tomatoes, Osso bucco, you name it - it was awesome. The most shocking part was that it was a reasonable - not too high not too low - just right. Priced perfectly to keep you coming back for more. Pool side dining for two with service all day to include cocktails, snacks, and then ultimately lunch...~$90.00 with tip!!!! That's a no brainer. The flipside of that coin was the room and services her on the pricey side. I'm reluctant to even write this review because I don't want anyone else to know how nice it was ;)

Yelp
This was the best spa experience I have ever had. Everything is spotless and beautiful. I felt comfortable using the coed spaces even though walking around in a swimsuit/robe the entire day. The pools and hot tubs are absolutely amazing. I had a pedicure and neck massage, and both were top notch. I throughly enjoyed that they request no cell phones for client privacy as well as relaxation but was slightly disappointed this was not enforced more strongly, I saw many cellphones out and larger groups were louder than they should be in the "spa voice" areas. We did not stay in the hotel and regretted it! DO NOT stay in the hotel across the street to save a few bucks, if you're going for a splurge spend the money to stay here. The restaurant and drinks were very good. This place felt like a resort in CA not the Dells. Cannot wait to stay again!

Yelp
Upon my second trip to Sundara, I think I am a better judge and can give a more accurate review. This is a really nice place and I would love to give it a higher score, but they are just missing the mark on too many things to score this any higher. Our first time over the winter we had an overnight stay and I was EXTREMELY disappointed. We had a loud room that they couldn't do anything about and we had to convince ourselves we were on an airplane to get to sleep. For how much they charge for an overnight stay and the fact that it's a spa, you should not have a noise issue! The room however was comfortable and spacious. To make matters worse they overcharged us and it took over two weeks and numerous phone calls to get these issues resolved. We had a gift card that they never credited us for. The next trip today we decided not to spend the money for a restless night of sleep and just did a massage and day spa. The construction had made the place disjointed and confusing. Not to mention the extremely loud fire drill during our quiet, relaxing lunch, I'm all about safety but COME ON! We really enjoyed the detoxing baths and the infinity pool but the amenities are far away and the walnuts were rancid. The tea that I was craving was out for most of the day. For a premium spa, you really need to get the details right! For treatments the therapists do a great job and I have had some of the best massages here, but if you are going to charge $$$$, you need to make me want to cry when I leave, and not just because I'm broke from my visit. Considering there aren't many options for Spas in these parts... what's a girl to do?!?!

Yelp
We stayed here last weekend for a weekend away after not doing any traveling since 2019. We decided to book a short trip to coincide with a family wedding taking place about 20 minutes away from the resort. We arrived early for our booked massages, as requested, and spent the time in the purifying bath ritual. The receptionists were lovely, as was the locker room attendant. It was a very hot day, and after a couple hours in the car, I was stickier than initially thought, so getting into my swimsuit was not the funnest. Note for a future trip: wear a swim suit underneath a loose maxi dress for arrival day. We ended up booking our couples' sessions for the early afternoon hours, before check in at 4, so we left everything in the car. While it wasn't bad, it certainly took some out of the fun of being relaxed into a puddle of goo, then needing to trundle out to the parking lot and haul bags in. I'm going to ensure next time that we have services booked for AFTER we are checked in, so we aren't needing to put clothes on and haul stuff after being so relaxed. Our actual spa services were wonderful. The masseuse asked if I wanted to keep my suit on, she saide we could forgo them. While I would have loved that, and will be sure to wear a bikini next time, I didn't want to wriggle back into a wet suit. (The women's locker room did have a swimsuit dryer, which I thought was nifty, but being wary, opted not to use it. )We started out with a couples' soak, each in our own tub, and got to pick from a variety of bath oils. Then we moved on to the couples' massage, still in the same room. After that, we headed over to the other side of the first floor for our facials. We've both had massages before, but neither of us had ever had a facial. We'll definitely be booking these services again. After the facials were completed, we were so relaxed it felt like we were a million miles away from home, instead of 100. After we got into the suite (wow!), and hauled everything in, we unpacked and looked around. We booked the Woodlands suite, with an in-room hot soak. That was absolutely delightful, and we already booked again for our anniversary weekend next year. The room has a living space, kitchenette with coffee maker, wineglasses, mini fridge, and a sink. There is a table between the kitchenette and living space with seats for six. The living space was a couple of sleeper loveseats, a sleeper couch, and some tables. The in room hot soak is beyond the living space, and can be accessed either through the living space or the bedroom. The space has an ADA entrance to the water, is 3 feet deep, and long enough to float in. The bedroom is carpeted, with a nightstand on either side of a king bed. The nightstands have USB ports for charging devices, which we did not know but was a welcome surprise. The mattress itself was firm, which I prefer. My spouse had a great idea and we brought our own pillows, so that certainly helped our quality of sleep. We ordered room service for dinner, not wanting to venture out and ruin our lovely relaxation. I had shrimp scampi, which was delicious. The shrimp were enormous and very fresh. My husband had the filet, which came with potatoes and grilled asparagus, he said it was wonderful, and the filet was cooked exactly to his preferences. We then changed and went out to the hot soak for awhile. As it was a hot August night, we did not use the fireplace. We did head to the bathroom after the hot soak, and to our delight, found that the shower space is as big as our bathroom at home. There is a wide niche that was more than ample for the products we brought, as well as an overhead shower head, handheld spray, and 3 body jets. The thing we liked best were the Kohler controls, which can be controlled from outside the shower so you walk in to water at the perfect temperature. The suite contained ample towels, I think we used almost all of them over the weekend, between showering and the hot soak. The toilet is in a separate cubicle space, which was nice, but I really missed my bidet at home. My husband also accidentally slammed the lid, because we have quiet/soft/slow closing lids at home. Just something to be aware of. Saturday was the wedding, so we ordered in room breakfast before getting ready to head out for the day. We had a dinner reservation for Saturday night at Nava, and opted to eat outdoors on the patio area. It was nice, but some of the other patrons could have been a bit quieter. After dinner, we headed back to our suite and changed into our suits to take advantage of the hot soak. We ordered breakfast again Sunday morning before departing for home. All in all, it was a lovely weekend, and very much appreciated the time away together. For next time: we are going to pack more swimsuits (2 wasn't enough), pack even more water (we had a case of water in our cooler, along with some juices and teas), and book services for the day after we arrive, not arrival day.

Yelp
OUR NIGHT STAY WAS HORRIBLE! We have done day passes with massages, mani/pedi's many times over the past 5 years....This was the first and LAST time we will be staying the night at Sundara. Sundara prides itself on customer service, peace, tranquility and rejuvenation. Our stay was anything but! We rented a room to celebrate our Anniversary this past weekend... our first night away from the kids in the last 5 years. Our room was located next to a group of girls who were BLASTING club music while drunk and screaming/singing at the top of their lungs 5:00pm-7:00pm (Which didn't allow us to have private dinner in our OWN room) and worst of all the partying continued into the night... 12:00AM-1AM (Which didn't allow us to sleep!!) We had to call down to the desk TWICE to have them come up and quite them down. I was ready to pack my bags, request a FULL refund and return home at 1:00am! It was horrible! We could not use the room or balcony during the day due to the blaring music out the back and we could not sleep at night. What is the point in having a room you cannot use to rebalance and recharge!? If I wanted to stay at a party hotel and would NOT have paid the amount I did to stay here! I spoke with the manager (Demarce) on our way to out let him know how VERY upset I was with our entire room experience. The manager offered an apology and said he would refund me $100 which I have yet to see. I would still not pay $500+ a night not to sleep. This was the worst staff/customer service experience I have ever encountered. 5 years ago this place was a well-oiled machine and now it seems to be run by a bunch of kids that have zero experience in customer service. I will NEVER recommend Sundara to any of our family and friends again! My recommendation to anyone looking for a nice spa stay is to try one of the following... Kohler Waters Spa or AIRE Ancient Baths Chicago I guarantee your experience will be better than ours at Sundara.

Yelp
I requested a masseuse that was vaccinated. Was told by reservations that Masseuses are not required to wear masks or be vaccinated??? In a small room for an hour with close personal contact, are you kidding me??? My friends and I have had several annual birthday celebrations there but have canceled this year due to the lack of basic health precautions. This is supposed to be wellness center!

Tony L.

Yelp
I'd heard a lot of good things about Sundara prior to scheduling a weekend there with my wife. I was surprised that they wanted $400 a night but decided to give it a try. I've been to a few high-end spas around the country so I could see the value in it if it is as good as people say. Unfortunately, in my experience, it didn't quite live up to it. Weird stuff- they like to bother you when you're in your room. It's supposed to be relaxing and tranquil, why do people keep coming to my door? The first visit from them was nice, they brought us complimentary tea and chocolate. The second time we were called by the "manager". She went through a script about how if we needed anything just call and they'll take care of it to make sure we have the best experience or something along those lines. When she was done with her script I started to respond that everything was going well so far and.... it was too late, she had already hung up. So much for the reason behind that call! Finally, we again had a visit at our room. It was an employee who found some Lexus keys in the parking lot and wanted to know if they were ours. Did he go to every room??? We added a few services to our stay on top of the $400 nightly rate. I got a pedicure and a facial. The pedicure was great but I've had better facials elsewhere. I guess my main beef with the facial is that she used her fingers for the extractions. She was wearing paper gloves but it still kind of felt low budget. Using extraction tools seems more professional to me. We went during the winter so we didn't get a chance to explore the grounds. The facility is nice. They were under construction when we went but everything was still nice and clean. The common areas seemed pretty limited in size and activity options but it sounds like that's being addressed with the construction which is just wrapping up summer 2018. My understanding is that Sundara was recently bought out by a big chain. That jives with the feeling I got. It felt like Sundara had been very nice and reasonably priced in the past (~$200 a night I believe) then it was bought out, prices were jacked, and all the great processes that were in place are still there, the execution is just sub-standard. Perhaps they should either reduce their prices or spend more time training?

Sara L.

Yelp
I have been to this spa two times now. I stayed overnight both times. The rooms are clean, and the Kohler shower system in the bathroom is outstanding. All services are top notch, and the service providers are so knowledgeable. I will be back to mentally and physically recharge!

Yelp
OMG the new addition! Sundara nailed it with their expansion and updates in the last year...just NAILED it. Now there are areas for chatting and being social, areas to be quiet, areas to be silent, all of which I seek out at some point in my visit. There's tons of new comfortable furniture, SO many more spaces to relax...and of course all the great services and staff they had before. Be sure to take the longish walk up the the Woodland Reflection Room - pretty view with lots of wildlife out side the floor-to-ceiling windows. Still not cheap, of course, but just love it.

Elaine M.

Yelp
I have stayed here a couple of times with my husband but most recently I took my daughter here for some relaxation and bonding. We all love this unexpected quiet sanctuary located in the over commercialized Wisconsin Dells. From the moment you walk through the front doors, the smell alone initiates the relaxation process. The rooms are luxurious, large and cozy. I think all come with a fire place and jetted tub. Super comfy beds can be counted on. The two very best features are the six step spa bath and the outdoor pool. We have stayed here both in the summer and the winter. The pool is great in any season. The spa bath is absolute heaven. When you are finished with the ritual your skin feels amazing and your sole even better! I always get a hot stone massage when I come and I haven't had better anywhere else. This time I treated myself to a facial which was nice but I should have booked a longer one. I took the shortest time available and it wasn't enough. So you ask with all these accolades why only four stars? Big reason - the food. They really need to work on the food options. They are either too fancy or not healthy enough. Would like to see more vegetarian options and higher quality ingredients and craftsmanship. As long as I live in the mid-west this is going to be my go-to place for a relaxation getaway.

Katherine O.

Yelp
It shouldn't take over an hour on hold to book $300 in services. Would go somewhere else, but have to use up a gift certificate from my employer. On hold 1 hour. Then gave my phone number. No call back. Tried again the next day....hung up after 30 minutes. Forget it Sundara. Get more staff where it counts!

Elly D.

Yelp
Sundara is the perfect place to have a quiet retreat in all seasons. We went in late fall when the Wisconsin chill was very much in the air and enjoyed everything. Sundara has a way of making you feel like you are outdoors in the woods even when indoors. Sundara has a number of amenities beyond the treatments including a Purifying Bath Ritual, a hot tub and an indoor/outdoor salt water pool with a swim up bar where you can get alcoholic "wellness drinks". I had the Rose Refresher and my partner had the apricot honey whiskey sour. Both were very good! The pool is great and it's fun to swim outdoors by the fire too. The Purifying Bath ritual is great and my skin never looked better afterwards. It's a great way to relax and rejuvenate. For treatments, I've personally tried the salt room and a Swedish massage. The salt room is wonderful. I felt like it opened my sinuses ( very needed in this cold climate) and even helped my joints. I suffer from RA and even on our hike afterwards, NO joint pain. I can only assume the salt room helped! The massage is wonderful and my therapist Jessica was very good about adjusting the bed, her technique etc to make it as effective for me as possible. The rooms at Sundara are beautiful and worth every penny for a luxurious vacation. I cannot wait to come back but in the meantime I will try to hold on to the relaxation and rejuvenation I experienced!

Yelp
Massage: 5/5 stars. Always the best massage in the Wisconsin state. Andy did an amazing job with stretching while massaging. Great deep massage. Spa process: 5/5 stars. Love the thought to "health" with the scrub, the spritz, the steam room, rinse, hot then cold water. Free granola, water, teas, coffee, and flavored water. Love the relaxation room. Pool: 84 degrees, Perfect temp and nice space. 5/5 stars on cleanliness and space. Front desk: very nice, THEY pointed out overcharges to me! And then fixed it. Service at pool: 1 star. One pool person stated a server would be "by soon," but she never showed. So he took our order, but you could tell he was NOT a server. The bar did not open that day (Friday), but we did get our drink and food - much later than desired. Service at rotunda: 3 star. Food: 4/5. Pretty good actually. It was overpriced a little, but it's the Dells! Our scallops were drizzled with truffle oil, and cooked perfectly so it was worth it. Flatbread was average. Chicken entree was moist with good sauce. Breakfast was free b/c we stayed there. 5/5 It was pretty good too - fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, granola, pastry, coffee, tea, juice, egg choice - made to order, meat choice, hashbrown, and special item (pancake). Filled us up. Room: I judge like I do all rooms: 2.5/5 stars 1) bed - too soft. Back issues made this a restless night. 2) pillows - too soft. Neck issues that night made the massage pay off the next day. 3) noise - the couple above us ... were very happy. And we heard it, but mostly from the creaky bed frame springs. Night and morning - good for them. 4) atmosphere - good cleanliness, mini fridge is pay only - no place for ice or to store food, shower was 8 headed - it was nice, fireplace was cute. 5) price - over priced for the area and against some better places in bigger cities (Chicago, Miami, etc...). I've stayed in overpriced places that can deserve a higher rating. This added a negative 0.5 star drop. Problems to be fixed before I stay here again: 1) you refuse Kindle use in shared spaces, but allow loud mouths at the pool area? This is ridiculous. The kindle makes no noise! It's a new era for books... Sundara get with the program... you are LOSING CLIENTS! 2) In order to offer a blissful sleep, you have to think about different people. Please offer "firm" pillows (in the closet) as an option to those "feather" pillows. Goodness knows you can afford it from my bill alone! 3) Refresh the bed frames - I get that I might hear my neighbors, but I shouldn't have to hear their bed springs creaking. Especially if they shouldn't have to hear MY KINDLE! Overview: For $300 a night, I should feel more drawn to my room than a pool. It should be above average and make me feel special. It should be my sanctuary and it wasn't. I should be able to use my Kindle/eReader anywhere I chose. I'm not asking for the moon here, just some perspective.

Frank A.

Yelp
Came here for a minimoon after our wedding and we really enjoyed it! Yes it is expensive, very expensive....but it is very very nice. Our room was around $300 per night (plush suite). The pool area is awesome with the heated pool, heated floors, outdoor firepit and outdoor bar. The bath ritual is "free" with your stay and very cool! We did it once per day. Extra Kudos to Attendant Michael as he was always very friendly, professional, and helpful! Note - this place is ONLY FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO RELAX. You cannot use your cell phone or computer or tablet in public spaces, just your room. No kids either! We did not purchase any spa treatments as they are easily double the cost of any non "tourist" spot, but if you have the cash to spend, go for it!

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
So, really really amazing facility. Spa treatments are very high-priced, but our massage was very good. Room was great and had the biggest in-room jacuzzi tub we've seen. Will definitely be back. It would be a total 5-star except for the on-site restaurant (see below). The restaurant, Nava, was more than disappointing. And at its price point, it is downright terrible. To be clear, we are not fanciers of heavy American food (heavy cream, melted parmesan, lots of salt, etc). My husband ordered the "zuppa di mare." The pasta was soft and soggy and the sauce seemed like it was out of the can. It came with pre-melted parmesan. The scallops were very well-done. It felt like Olive Garden but at a $30+ price point(maybe not as good as Olive Garden?). At that price point, we typically expect something more along the lines of hand-made (doesn't even have to be necessarily freshly made day of) al dente pasta with fresh tomato sauce + seafood and fresh parmesan grated to taste. I ordered the Halibut and it was bad enough that I could not force myself to eat even half of it. Presentation was not bad, but it was so overcooked it was rubbery and I had to work harder than one would expect to cut it. This was complicated by the fact that I was attempting to not soak it in the movie-theater flavored sea of butter beneath it. Both the butter and the fish were incredibly overly salted. We had also ordered a "guac and chips" app from the kitchen earlier in the day down by one of the pools. The guac was clearly pre-made and came out of a tub or bag. It wasn't bad, but not what one would expect at its price point or in a venue as nice as Sundara. We would much rather have not spent the $100+ on dinner there and eaten at Noodles and Co. or Culvers instead.

Yelp
I've been to Sundara several times. This is the fourth time that I have had problems with an employee, Emily, while trying to check in. She is unfriendly, unhelpful, and borders on rude. I've complained to the management and have had unsatisfactory results (considering she's still employeed). The third time I had to deal with her I was venting to a gal working the indoor bar, that acknowleged that yes, they all know the issues with Emily and several people have complained in the past. I was chatting with a woman in the hot tub who mentioned her by name as well, and indicated the employee is always an issue with her as well. I could go into the details for all of the episodes, however, what's the point, considering the establishment doesn't seem to care. The facilities ARE pretty nice, and if you have a chance to go, at least once, go for it. Just be prepared for condescension when "helped" by Emily.

Yelp
Not what it used to be. Not the experience it used to be! I was about to book an overpriced facial and then the lady on the phone said - oh plus a $35 facilities fee. What's that, I inquired? Apparently to be on the spa waiting area, even when you have a service booked, you now pay to exist there. It's like charging you at a bar for your drink and your stool. My remark that it never used to be that way, which to a savvy business owner would indicate that I'm a repeat customer from the Madison area who has spent multiple overnight stays and perhaps there could be a "grandfathering in" when the policy changed but that was lost on them or they simply don't care. I did not book the service. I will not be returning to Sundara. Time to move on.

Yelp
Very expensive for what you get, asked for robe and slipper size assuming we were getting unique treatment, the robes are one size for both men and women, the "slippers" were cheap sandals! Recommend booking spa treatments, cooking classes and yoga before you get there if you can. Our trip was in December, Wisconsin dells off season, and we still couldn't get in for cooking or yoga classes, very disappointing! Recommend a tour to find out about all amenities, no cell phones or food allowed from outside the hotel, super annoying making you buy everything from them at 4 times the price. Food is better than expected for hotel food but way way way over priced. 20% gratuity is automatically added on all your purchases which to me is excessive for a hotel and staff that is way above normal pricing already. The best part was the Kohler shower in our room! The overall experience was just a bunch of grown adults walking around in their robes and "slippers" attempting to sneak in their own form of contraband (snacks, drinks, phone) into the prison system of the hotel!
