A lot to like. The hotel is trying to provide a good service and make you feel comfortable but sometimes it’s hit and miss. With some improvements it could be a perfect place. The villas are almost on the beach but no sea view, it’s very overgrown and dark. Inside the rooms it is pretty good condition but outside it is falling apart, mouldy and damp. The beach is quiet and clean but it’s not the best beach in Príncipe. On the bright side , the surrounding area is just a dream, endless walks through the rainforest, bird watching, exotic fruit trees, the words can not describe it fully. The hotel provides some activities included in your stay and some extra activities. Guides are very knowledgeable and speak good English unlike the rest of the staff. The price is high so hotel was not full which is nice for the guests. I would recommend the hotel to people who appreciate nature, it’s untouched and unexploited, locals are friendly and smiley, we felt very safe and never intimidated. All in all great experience and memories.

This is a fantastically relaxing hotel, set on the waters edge of a pristine rain forest. The rooms are just gorgeous - large and luxurious. They are in fact tents but luxurious ones not unlike the sort of thing you get in an upmarket safari. The double bed is huge and they all have a large shower, separate toilet, 2 handbasins and a comfortable bath right by the window looking out into the rain forest. There's plenty of wardrobe space, a sitting area and a small fridge.|The food is very good and the ingredients are mainly local, and organic where possible. The hotel can organise excursions, on the island and by small boat. |But make no mistake, you are not going to a Maldives or Caribbean type resort. The island is a poor one, and the infrastructure is still quite basic outside of the Praia Sundy resort.|But set against that, you will be visiting an island before it is overtaken by mass tourism.|The one downside I found had nothing to do with the hotel. The rainy season started earlier that I expected and with rain, come mosquitos.

We went only for lunch at the restaurant, it was a bad day, there was only one plate from the entire menu, and no dessert. I rate 4 stars because the environment is beautiful and the food ok, although I do no recommend the octopus hot dog, too much bread. We went on 6th January. They don't allow you to drive close to the restaurant, only if you are sleeping there. If not, must leave the car outside and go walking.

The hôtel is a Little Paradise, hidden in the forest and near a beautiful Beach. If you Walk a Little you can find empty and wonderful Beaches as Well. The staff is very professional and very nice, by knowing a Little more them you can learn about the life in the island. The visit organised were very good, the food is good as well at the restaurant or at the bar. The HBD group is investing in the protection of the island biodiversity as Well as for communities, congratulations for that. We Will always keep Principe and its people in our hearts. Thank you for this wonderful expérience

A luxury jungle camp. They gave us room nr. 1 which means direct view and access to the beach. Friendly and attentive staff. We felt like in another, peaceful, world. The dinners were fine with even Absolut or Gin and Tonic included. Less the dinner at the beach which up to more than only my oppinion was of the basic ones. Like in the Pestana São Tomé... That yes, with good staff and afro entertainment. The guides, kind and informative, they bring you to many places you will see in very few other places of the world. The one from five stars I can‘t give in because of the food in the beach dinner and especially our car to the airfield departed 20 minutes late. We feared to loose the flight: 9:10 flight, 7:30 should the car leave but it left at 7:50 to through the jungle pathes. Thanks to Paulo, Head of booking dept., we didn‘t loose it at all because STP Airways departs earlier on Saturdays than in our tickets. Be aware: lava rock pathes and Stepps are not handicap-friendly.

There are tents and then there are tents! I have never slept in a tent like this before. My room was so large I almost needed a sat nav to get around it!|Wonderful luxury set in amazing grounds.|Excellent activities on offer all of which were very well organised and I thoroughly enjoyed. ||The food was amazing.

Amazing place. Beautiful setting and constructed in sympathy with the natural surroundings. Deserves the Eco in its description, natural materials used throughout and guests reminded to be eco friendly as well. No plastic in use there!!. The staff are friendly and so helpful and you become part of their community as soon as you step out of the transport. The trips on offer are a testimony to this ethos, low carbon and with guide that truly love and care about their beautiful island and want to keep it that way. A slice of Heaven.

We stayed at Sundy Praia 10 - 16 December 2022 as part of a longer trip to ST&P. Absolutely stunning place, as good if not better than any of the Maldives resorts we've been to. The room was beautiful, very up to date and spotlessly maintained. All of the bungalows are situated so as not to overlook or be overlooked by others and are completely invisible when you view the resort from a boat trip. The rainforest really meets the empty beaches here.||For 4 nights of our stay we were the only guests and the staff made a huge effort to make sure we didn't lack for attention. We had breakfasts on the beach, on our deck and in the resaurant. Evening meals we had on the beach, at the barbecue, on the lawn by the pool and in the restaurant. ||On arrival we were met by Gavin the head chef who had come in on his day off to greet us and ask about our food preferences. All of the staff were brilliant and it seems a shame to single any out but 2 of the waiters Gilson & Dinesha were especially so and helped me with my very basic portugese.||The trips were excellent and again Wulbur was a fantastic guide. We highly recommend the boat trip to the Bay of Needles, fantastic secenery and you are "marooned" alone on a beach with food and drink for as long as you wish.||I can only refer to the other excellent reviews which I fully agree with and the photos of this resort are really accurate but even so don't quite do it justice.||If your holiday involves a choice between Sundy Praia and Roca Sundy (a walk away up the track) then go for Sundy Praia. We visited Roca and whilst it was nice, its not a patch on SP. This was the view of another couiple who were spending 4 nights at each resort.||One point to note, HBD resorts (owners) do not accept Mastercard - they only accept Visa.
