We've been eating our way along on a 3 week road trip & Sunflower is a standout. We almost didn't stop due to Google listing and website heavy emphasis on donuts, but they have a full selection of flaky pastries, croissant, Danish, sausage rolls, sandwiches & more. Apple wrap was scrumptious and croissant a chewier style with the most buttery flavor we've ever had. We left no crumbs behind! Highly recommended. Clearly a local favorite as hopping busy on a Sept Wed morning.

Breakfast sandwiches were tasty but cold in the middle they seemed a bit small for the price but good flavour.

I had to check out this busy vibrant bakery in Squamish. Walking down the street I noticed this location and had to grab a delicious croissant sandwich to enjoy window shopping on a Saturday. What incredible views from the available front counter seats and outside tables. The inside has comfortable seating and a long bench with decorative cushions. Good food offerings and fresh coffee as well as good service.

Lots of really good looking pastries, great space. But I don’t appreciate if the machine doesn’t give me the option of no tipping. If someone is just handing me a croissant, there’s no reason to tip. Employers should pay better instead of passing the cost to the consumer. I haven’t tried the coffee because it’s 49th and I’m not fond of it. Apart from that, looks like a nice place.

Jacquie and I have been living in Squamish for close to 2 years and had never actually tried this Café. Well, that would eventually change and we're so glad it did. This smallish Café has terrific food and coffee. Not only is the food, pastries etc very tasty but the prices are also very reasonable. Service is amazing, staff are friendly and helpful. Seating can be a little challenging on those cool, rainy fall days when indoor seating is required and only because it's somewhat narrow. We noticed the numerous awards hanging on the wall dated for 2021 and quite a collection it is. My wife and I agreed wholeheartedly that they were well deserved. We highly recommend this Café with its array of tasty, unique pastries and breakfast foods etc.

After hearing about Sunflower Bakery Cafe's delightful treats and coffee available all week, we couldn't resist checking out this charming spot. Walking in, we were greeted by an array of freshly baked and beautifully colourful goodies. And knowing they proudly serve 49 Parallel Coffee just added to the excitement. During our visit, we decided to treat ourselves to some coffee and donuts, with each donut falling in the $3.50 to $4.00 range. Our absolute favourites turned out to be the Chief and the Pistachio flavours - truly amazing and not overly sweet. We're definitely planning to return soon to explore more of their offerings. 📝📝 Food: 🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩 Must Try! Service: 👩‍🍳👩‍🍳👩‍🍳👩‍🍳👩‍🍳 Kids: 👶👶👶👶Yay! Price: Each donut costs between $3.50 and $4.00. Great coffee, good food, and friendly staff! Even gave us free donuts as they were about to close. Donuts were so good! Will definitely come back 🤍

Yelp
3.5 rounded up. What do I do right after Fox and Oak? I come here for a second fix. Go big or go home, right? Right. May as well check out the competiion that is 5 mins away up the street. May as well take these bad boys back to Vancouver and scarf them down later. I'd say Fox and Oak edges them out, but they've got some interesting flavours. Lemonade as well as orange creamsicle. Worth a try.

Yelp
Great food and drinks! A bit overpriced. The service is easy and it's pretty fast. The ambience is pretty good could be better though.

Yelp
Stopped for Coffee and a breakfast. Coffee is quite good, 49th parallel. I ordered an Apple Tartlet which was delicious. Husband had a savory herb and cheese scone, which he said was very good. We ate on sight at the bar by the window. Nice spot, great food. Bookmark it!

Yelp
A break on the trip to Whistler. There is a good array of bakery items but the Apple Tartlet is a show-stopper. Amazing. Bought another even when I couldn't eat any more - will take it with us. And I thought the service was friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Great bakery in Squamish! Enjoyed their donut selection. Bakers dozen (13 donuts) for $40! I particularly liked the chocolate one and lemon one.

Yelp
We came to Sunflower Bakery Cafe as the original cafe we went to ran out of their doughnuts and we were craving some. We got the Blue Hawaiian and the Chief as well as a Bavarian smokie. Overall they were pretty good and with friendly staff behind the counter.

Yelp
This was the best croissant I've ever had in my life. Will come back to Squamish just for this food

Yelp
Donut heaven. Nothing so tasty so sweet and so amazing! Cannot recall a better selection and the Lemonade was to die for.

Yelp
I'm not sure what the hype is about. We came on a weekday afternoon to a short line up. We purchased two drinks and some pastries/donuts. My matcha latte didn't really have a strong matcha flavour. Even though it was unsweetened, I didn't get that hint of bitterness matcha exudes. My mom mentioned her coffee tasted "very bland". By that I think she means it's very ordinary - not good or bad. I didn't try the pastries, but my dad commented that his apple tart was yummy and loaded with apples. The donuts however were a disappointment! We ordered a half dozen to share: Lemonade - I was expecting a sweet and sour fresh donut, but it was very sugary and reminded me of lemon detergent. The donut itself was also very dense and chewy. Pistachio - We enjoyed the texture of the donut. It tasted lighter than the lemonade one, however, there was absolutely no pistachio flavour. Homer - I didn't try this one, but my bf commented that this tasted very artificial. Which is what I expect a Homer donut would taste. Krispy Kreem - I didn't try this one, but my bf mentioned this was quite delicious. Of course, it was not as good as the original Krispy Kremes. Matcha - Another doughy texture with matcha filling that had NO matcha flavour. Apple fritter - I did not try so can't comment We were happy to have tried this cafe because of all the positive reviews. Perhaps we ordered the wrong things, but we weren't very impressed with our visit.

Yelp
Donuts are a local go to. Pre or post bike ride must have. The Cinnamon Rolls are different and super delicious. Soft and fluffy.

Yelp
Had an americano and an absolutely delicious mushroom pizza roll type thing, it was so good warmed up! It was a cool sunny day and we enjoyed sitting on the patio. Partner had a fancy looking danish, we were chuffed.

Yelp
Meh. Coffee was cold. I ordered a cafe latte and got a cappuccino. Coffee was not the best. Scone was good. You can never go wrong with baked items in British Columbia. Played with everyone's dogs, watched people for a while. Their lunches looked very healthy and of generous proportions. Appear to be healthy options at this place.

Yelp
Stopped in here on the weekend! Really enjoyed the coffee, I had an americano. Also had a ham & cheese croissant which was good - it was a large portion although a little pricey (I'd have preferred a smaller portion and also a smaller price). Also tried a donut which I didn't love but my boyfriend did! Overall a safe bet when you're in the area.

Yelp
My daughter got me the Citron Citron cake for my birthday, and it was SO good. I loved the lemony citrus scrumptiousness! I would highly recommend this bakery and this particular cake!

Yelp
We had five kinds of takeout savouries (I might have the names slightly wrong: mushroom truffle bun, breakfast sandwich, croissant sandwich, sausage roll, panini), two kinds of donuts, and coffee. All were exceptional. The lemon donut (specialty donut of the day) was a very special treat. Staff were very nice too. Would definitely stop in again!

Yelp
Visited on a whim as we were Hungry and didn't know the area. I got a brownie and Mediterranean mini pizza, while my partner got the vegan sandwich. Honestly all 3 were amazing. Their bread seems homemade and it is delicious. The brownie was great-reminiscent of a fancy cosmic brownie from our school lunches. The winner was the vegan sandwich that my partner got, though. It was so flavourful. Vegan cheese is often a miss, but this was a hit! The fake meat - whatever it was, was so flavourful. Would definitely go back for that sandwich!

Yelp
Awesome cafe. Best coffee and donuts in town. Great hot food selection as well. I drop in several times a week. Grab yourself a loaf of fresh bread as well.

Yelp
Cute little bakery. We stopped in for a Blueberry pie on the day of American Thanksgiving. It feels homey and cozy and the treats look delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed our big piece of pie.

Yelp
This is one of the spots that we have been visiting for years when we are up here visiting family. Their fruit and nut scones are delicious and my parents have been sweet to bring them across the border for me between our trips. We stopped in today and enjoyed their sausage roll and apple wrap with the normal scone order.

Yelp
BEST DOUGHNUTS in Downtown Squamish! Stoked to see the new owners take over and revamp this business! GREAT JOB !!! A must visit on Cleveland Ave, Downtown.

Yelp
Fairly long wait time, but worth it for vegan options. I had the veggie roll (like a sausage roll) with ketchup and my favourite GTS kombucha. It was a tasty and quick stop with a nice cafe atmosphere.

Margo H.

Yelp
Super coffee and treats but the best part was the service from James and Zoe. Your boss is very lucky to have you.

Yelp
Decent coffee, and the boyfriend liked the cookie he got (because it was a unique combination of oatmeal and chocolate chip, but it was a bit dry, he said). Very casual, relaxed atmosphere/service. The owner/employee(?) just sat down at one of his own tables and eat like a customer, and I like that.

Yelp
We ordered a piece of pie to share, and a couple of vanilla cappuccinos. While the pie we shared was quite tasty, the service staff was not as friendly as I would have hoped them to be. The woman preparing the coffees was painfully slow. Finally, they used a copious amount of sugar-free vanilla syrup - I did not request sugar-free, but it appears to be the only thing they had. Unfortunately, that left the coffee with a bitter-chemical after taste which persisted well past the time we had finished our drinks and left the establishment.

Yelp
Been eating here since 1997, the veggie rolls and soups are absolutely the best around. The service is top notch and the coffee is delicious.
google avatar

Kat P.

Yelp
I didn't find their pie to be very tasty. I haven't tried the rest of their food but wouldn't go back for their pie.
google avatar

Yelp
Food is not bad, but service sucks. Staff were happy to serve anybody who butted in line, and ignored the protests of other patrons. I watched two other people walk out due to this before I did the same. I missed my lunch due to these people, and I'm sure others did too. I will never darken it's doors again, and will encourage others to give it a miss also... Unless of course you like abuse with your meals.

Natasha P.

Yelp
I love this cafe. They have greats soups, sandwiches, pastry & bread. All are homemade and fresh. Or day olds are 50% off :). Defiantly recommend.

Yelp
Very organic, so if that's a key thing for you, you'll be a happy camper. For people who just like their food to be food, it was still pretty good. The cinnamon rolls looked great so we ordered them up to go, and then had the sandwich lunch specials. The bread was terrific, but the middle-bits (or sandwich guts, if you will), were a little lackluster. We had the veggie sandwiches which had cheese, lettuce, tomato, and avacado. Would have enjoyed a selection of some nicer cheeses or alternate veggies (such as roasted red pepper), even at an added cost. The sodas available were terrific though, and even if we didn't choose the flavor of veggie chips, they were still good.

Yelp
Don't know about you, but I'm a grazer from way back. I do eat breakfast & enjoy dinner, but in between it's soft lunch/coffee time. Discovered this bakery/cafe last time was in Squamish...the old main street location is fun, lots of collectibles stores there, & the fresh baking at Sunflower is a reason I'd go back. Light lunches, coffees, teas, desserts, & wholesome breads...works for me!

Yelp
Such a cute little cafe! The coffee was delicious, and the baked items were organic and tasty. I had the carrot bran muffin which was yummy. The owner is working behind the counter, and she is super friendly and helpful. The breads look lovely, though I didn't have any, and the whole atmosphere is light and casual.

Joshua P.

Yelp
Great little place soup is to die for. Good sandwiches. And always nice for a coffee and a fresh baked goodie.

John M.

Yelp
I went in to get lunch last week while passing through and ordered a sandwich. It was $7 and I gathered that would get me something interesting and substantial but no, I was brought a few thin slices of deli meat from Save-on-Foods, a little piece of lettuce, some mustard, and.... that's it. Ridiculous, I it would have cost $5 for those ingredients at the nearby grocery store. I'd ordered something else, paid, and then was told they'd have to change my order. I said not a problem, then discovered I was overcharged. The man working there was quite rude and brusk about the whole ordeal as well. Final straw was the plastic disposable cups they use for water. So unbelievably senseless and wasteful, especially in a place with such an enormous kitchen where they could easily wash reusable ones. Bad environmental practices. Will NOT be back. Zephyr is right next door.

Nyle F.

Yelp
Poor service for an empty cafe, long wait time for my order and when it eventually arrived it was not close to what I had ordered. I would highly recommend the restaurant a few doors down from this cafe.

Marea P.

Yelp
I've been coming to the Sunflower Bakery for years, and every visit to Squamish isn't complete without one of their apple wraps or leen beef rolls. Their tea selection is excellent, and best of all, everything is super affordable and well priced! This is better than what most small towns can offer!

James H.

Yelp
Since my comment was filtered (I'm not sure why), I thought that I would write it again. I was here in the late summer with a Canadian and an American friend on my way up to a hike near Squamish. I ordered quiche, which was good, and pie, which was OK. What really stunned us was the service. I live in Berlin and the UK, and when I asked about drinks, specifically whether they had 'sparkling water' (a standard term in the UK--perhaps I should have adjusted), the response was a roll of the eyes. When I asked again, I got the response 'we have water'. My American friend got a similarly hostile response, independently, for anther question whereas the server was nice enough to our friend, who is local. I'm hardly oversensitive about attitude (I live in Berlin where service is often very unfriendly), but this was really over-the-top hostile, and it seemed as if the service it was because we didn't behave exactly like people from the town. Perhaps the server was just having a bad day, but I certainly will never return to this place. It was sufficiently upsetting that we left the café quickly and talked about it for a good half hour. (Please erase the filtered comment, if possible).
