Sunlit Waters Studio Apartments

Wonderful Golden Gem. Amazing location only a few minutes walk to the main strip on Airlie but no noise or disturbances. The views from the studios are amazing right across the marina outlooking over the coral sea. Spotless clean, aircon, and well equipped. But I must say the icing on the cake has to be Dean, so obliging and when I say friendly will take time out of his day to stop for 10 minutes to chat with you and ask if you are enjoying Airlie giving tips on where to eat, what trips are the best and generally just want to make sure you are having a wonderful time. The owners should be very proud as Dean non stops on the go and such a great fella.

Sunlit waters provides affordable, clean and comfortable accommodation in a great location in Airlie Beach. It’s an older style motel but given the location, cost, views and facilities this was not an issue for us at all. The kitchen was well equipped if you want to cook in with fantastic views from the balcony. It’s also close to the shops and restaurants and bar venues in the Main Street which we walked to. The reception staff member was helpful and hospitable on arrival and we felt very welcomed there. I would happily stay there again.

Value for money is good, but I wanted to bring attention to a few things. As you can see by my photos (this is me, 3 days after leaving Sunlit Waters) there was either bedbugs on my bed, or I was a feast for a few spiders during my sleep, can’t stop scratching myself. As can be seen per the other two photos, room had a lot of dust and spiderwebs, that shows that they don’t clean thoroughly. Service was friendly, owner was kind, but also lacked a bit of attention, we received only 2 towels for 3 people, and since there’s rarely someone at the reception, we got a third towel only on the second day. I also think they could have some housekeeping every 2 or 3 days max, for some tidy up around towels and stuff, but just my opinion.

Exceptional accommodation for the budget conscious. The view is spectacular and surrounds peaceful and tropical. Dean gave us a warm welcome and our studio apartment was spotlessly clean and fresh. This is older style accommodation but more than adequate and comfortable. A kitchenette enabled us to prepare a meal to eat at the table and chairs outside the room watching the sunset. The bed was comfortable and towels soft and absorbant. This place ticked all the boxes for our two night stay including being able to walk to the shops and restaurants, albeit a steep walk back if you are without a car.

Beautiful location if you have a car or are fit to walk the hill. Only a 5 minute walk to town. Rooms very comfortable with everything you need. Bed comfortable Pool great. Would definitely recommend

We had an amazing stay at this hotel! The owner is incredibly friendly and always happy to help with great tips. The room was spotless, and the staff was super kind. Even after checking out, we were allowed to relax by the pool, which we really appreciated. There’s also a large table outside and a nearly fully equipped kitchen with a microwave and fridge. The only downside of our stay was that we couldn’t stay longer! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay.

Even after checking out, we were allowed to relax by the pool for a while, which we really appreciated. There’s also a washing machine available for a small fee.
