Sunni Sky's Homemade Ice Cream

Best ice cream in Raleigh and probably in all of North Carolina! I highly recommend. Tons of amazing homemade flavors but two of my favorites are oatmeal cookie and rice crispy treat! If you like chocolate, double chocolate brownie can’t be beat! Portions are large and don’t forget to bring cash!

Delicious ice cream with exceptional service! I was surprised by how packed it was on a summer Saturday night, but totally understood once I saw the menu and the tons of unique flavor options! Prices are super reasonable (cash only), and the ice cream is worth the hype. I would give it 5 stars but I only wish they had a more eco-friendly option than Styrofoam cups. But hey, that's a great reason to get the waffle cones!

This ice cream shop is such a great place!!!! There are so many flavors! The staff are amazing! The atmosphere is so laid back and friendly!! This is so worth the side trip, if you are traveling near Raleigh!

My family and I had the opportunity to visit this sweet establishment on Satutday night (at 1130pm!!) on the way home from a show. I was floored to see that it was open at that time, but even more shocked to see how busy it was. The parking lot was almost full. The staff was so sweet and made great recommendations. Plenty of seating outside and a few tables inside. Only critique is it was a mess inside.

Excellent service from every staff member there that was waiting on people, 3 young guys. They were very friendly, interactive, and made great suggestions. I keep coming back for the Blueberry Cheesecake even though there are SO MANY great choices. It's amazing! We enjoyed our ice creams while rocking in the rocking chairs on the front porch. Very relaxing.

Best ice cream in the area, hands down. Tons of different flavors to choose from. The staff are fantastic, always smiling and ready to let you sample. It gets busy but we've never had to wait too long. Absolutely worth the drive!

Phenomenal ice cream, always made in house. The flavor selection is legendary and the waiver for the spicy options is definitely there for a reason. The flavor I have tried so far are all decadent and distinctly different from each of the others and combine beautifully, giving you thousands of reasons to come back. There's plenty of parking, and the staff definitely loves being there. Sunni Sky's ONLY accepts cash and check, so plan accordingly. A must stop location if you're in the area, and even worth a special trip on a hot summer day.

One of the best place to enjoy homemade ice cream in NC. It's outside of main city but worth going. Open 7 days a week from 11.00 am to 11.00 pm. More than 50 different verity of choice is available. They serve no sugar ice-cream too. Huge parking lot is available. Always busy, I like they offer small spoon 🥄 tasting ice-cream 🍦 to make right decision. Highly recommend and will definitely go again. I love their kiddies size cup 🥤.

Remember to bring cash, but a twenty is fine unless you're more than 4-5 folks. We had butter pecan and butter almond. The butter pecan is buttery and the pecans are studded throughout. The almond isn't as rich, but it's still delicious. We enjoyed our cones. You do have to find the menus or ask someone if they're done with theirs. It can be overwhelming as they have a zillion flavors. Then just wait till someone asks if you've been helped. They don't take tips, and they decline them ever so gracefully. We enjoyed our ice cream and when we're back visiting family we'll definitely stop in!

I always stop in here when they are open to grab some delicious ice cream. Place is busy but they are pretty efficient at serving the customers. Decent price, plenty of room to site outside, lots of ice cream selections and of course friendly staff.

Excellent all around. Wow. I tried a few different flavors, all delicious. This place is great. Top notch service and the ice cream quality is outstanding. And way less expensive than almost all other ice cream shops. I definitely recommend a trip to Sunni Skies. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing variety and fantastic flavors! My favorites are oatmeal cookie and pumpkin pie. I'm sure you can find your favorites too! It's busy when the weather is hot but they have plenty of workers to keep up with the demand. I will be back on a regular basis.

I'll make this one brief. The hype is real and the product more than delivers. Sunni Sky's is nestled out in Angier and giving "no muss, no fuss!" The shop is cash/check only, service is friendly, and the (millions of) flavors are delicious. This ice cream shop has a huge (well deserved) following and is definitely worth repeat visits!

Warm day means more patrols but it doesn't matter because their workers are fast and efficient. The line was long but they kept moving. Bring cash so you don't have to pay taxes. They do not take cards. They can also take checks. Just bring cash! As for flavours, they have 130 so anything for everyone. If you want to taste the chili ones, a waiver needs to be signed. Ice creams are still good as before and they made them.

The staff are friendly and quick to fill your order . So many choices of ice cream . There's places to sit outside which is nice . The prices to are really good .

The ice cream is to die for. By far the best I have ever had. You can go to other ice cream shop and pay a lot or you can enjoy the best ice cream at a reasonable price. Not to mention, the selection of flavors is remarkable.

This place was recently mentioned in the North Carolina magazine. It was packed when we went there on a Sunday. Over 100 flavors. Tried their peach cobbler and coconut pineapple. It was ok. This place is a bit overrated in my opinion.

This place has really gone down hill, it smells awful in there unfortunately, like butt. It was so dirty in there i was contemplating eating the ice cream or not. Two female employees were pointing and gossiping, very unprofessional. I used to love going here, now i will never go again.

A cute Labor Day find! This small ice cream business is about 10 minutes from Fuquay, and gives a wide range of ice cream flavors! You do get free samples, which is get for those that are indecisive. They do not have lactose free options though! I got strawberry cheesecake (that had chunks of cheesecake!) and my husband got half banana pudding/half sugar cookie. We opted for waffle cones, which may have only been a mistake since they melted so quickly. Our bad. But they were delicious! The only downside is the efficiency of the shop could be set up better. The cash register is in the middle of all of the flavors, which ruins the flow. This also can create tension since some people thought we cut them even though we were looking at flavors. 6/10 - great flavors, bad efficiency

I love ice cream and while it is a drive from Cary, Sunni Sky offers soooooo many awesome flavors of homemade ice cream. Treat yourself!! Cash ONLY!! Keep that in mind!

Second time here and I would come back again and again. This place can never disappoint. I came in the middle of the day and late at night and the line is always long but fast. So many choices and the ice cream prices are so reasonable. Just make sure you bring cash. I really wish they accepted tips because the employees are so nice and serve with a smile

Simply a gem nestled away in North Carolina .... This was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives ! Talk about homemade ice cream, shakes and sundaes, this is the holy grail of the old Mom & Pop Ice cream stands in America .... There are way to many flavors to mention as you can see on their menu. We opted to have a scoop of the Crumb Cake, wow what a tantalizing taste bud experience If you need a unique place to grab a sweet treat, this is located in the small town of Angier, NC. What an amazing place and a must have if in the area !!

Best ice cream I've found in NC. A ton of different flavors and it is always delicious no matter what you get. Would travel in a heart beat for this place! Service is always super quick when I go, they always have plenty of people working and ready to help!

Yes. Super local spot. Yes. Delicious ice ream at an affordable price. Yes. Fast service. No to the parking lot and street turn situation. Though the huge rap around gravel parking lot is vast, it fills up. And then parking gets creative, claustrophobic and blocked. Again. Loved my ice cream. Tiramisu and black cherry. Everyone loved their flavors. I'd have to visit every day for a month or two to try them all. Young, capable teenage help. 5 of us ordered from 3 differ t people and when we said we were together, one employee had our amount due on the spot. Worth a visit. Make sure your most capable driver is behind the wheel. Getting back out on the two lane blacktop is not for the faint of heart in these parts.

Man oh man, as new residents of Lillington NC, we kept hearing snippets about this ice cream boutique. We treated ourselves to two rocky road, single scoop, waffle cones. It's rumored that St Peter serves Sunni Sky's at the Pearly Gates to new arrivals, Baskin Robbins is served melted, way, way further south. Delicious ice cream with head spinning options, combined with enthusiastic, polite, youthful servers is a wonderful combination. Kudos to the visionary entrepreneur. Extreme caution is advised to the consumers of Exit Wound.

Killer!!! Holy icecream balls, this place has more delicious flavors than anyone else around. This is date night material. Don't let a full parking lot deter you here! These folks move fast getting that icecream/sugar-free icecream/sorbet/sherbert out quh-wick!! Do yourself a flavor and look upntheir website!! And for the brave out there, check out the "spicy flavors" they have. This is a short review but nothing about Sunni sky's falls short. They have seating immediately outside or off to the side with park benches. There's plenty of room for you to bring your own fold out chairs too. This place is a must!!! Don't be fooled........try it!!!!!!

I heard Sunni Sky's were the best in the ice cream world. I gave it a try, I was guided in the right direction. They have many options to choose from. The ice cream is amazing! The staff is great, last time we were there the gentleman was super patient the my 3 yr old. My baby wanted to try before purchasing and he got to do just that. We always have a great experience when we go there. It's a family favorite!

This is the best ice cream in the world. No, we haven't tried every ice cream in the world, but we don't need to, to know! Don't burn your mouth with Cold Sweat and Exit Wound! This was one of my favorite places to go as a child as I lived in Fuquay-Varina for four years as a kid. We knew the original owners and would always go as a family. We moved away and haven't been back since now! Going back to this place was so nostalgic. Everything about the place and inside the place hadn't changed! It was as if I never left and was getting ice cream like I used to do! The ice cream was just as I remembered it too and it was awesome seeing how popular it had become over the years!! If you're in the area, definitely go and check my favorite ice cream shop in the world out!!!

It's always crowded because everyone knows it's amazing! They have over 100 flavors including some fat free and sugar free. You can sample as many as you want. The only problem is they only accept cash. It's super cheap though!

Although I haven't scratched the surface of trying all the flavors; the cookie dough, strawberry cheesecake, and blueberry cheesecake flavors are amazing! We always look forward to coming because it's seriously that good! The prices are very affordable especially given how heavenly the ice cream is. The workers are always friendly, and during busy days when the line is out the door you will still be in & out b/c that's how fast and efficient they're. This place is very popular during the summer and they have a pretty decent amount of sitting spaces from the front porch/ patio to the lawn having tables and chairs so you can sit and enjoy your ice cream! It's cash only which might be a small inconvenience for some so if you're planning on going make sure to stop by an ATM. Overall this business has my heart when it comes to ice cream, and will be recommending to everyone!

Over 100 flavors to explore and they always push free samples! Great for the whole family! Weekends may take awhile to get served but it's not the staff it's because there are more customers than their building can hold. Be patient as it is always worth it! The lines go very quickly!

Best ice cream around. We travel about 20min multiple times a week to get it! The dark swirl is AMAZING. The staff is so friendly and gives great recommendations. The prices are unbeatable so it's often busy which can be overwhelming but definitely worth it!

This is a cute little ice cream shop nestled in Angier with fast, friendly service. They have LOTS of ice cream flavors, so really something for everyone - from classics like Chocolate to more adventurous flavors such as the spicy flavor 'Exit Wound' (as seen on YouTube). I would of given 5 stars except the cleanliness of the shop and the lack of parking leaves something to be desired. Side note, be prepared to bring cash as they don't accept credit or debit cards.

Sunni Sky's is open seasonally. They usually open back up around March. They have also been featured on the Food Network. This has been a frequent stop during the warm months. They have over 100 flavors and some incredibly unique. They even have an ice cream so hot (spicy) you have to sign a waiver to try. You can also taste as many samples as you want. I'd say don't be too greedy if the line is long. Friday nights and weekends tend to have a line that goes out the door. They only accept cash, to keep prices low. It would usually cost $5-8 for 2 of us. My go to was the one scoop split in 2 flavors. Some of my favorites are the cinnamon crumb cake, blueberry dump cake, dirt cake (comes with gummy worms on top), pumpkin, and lemongrass. This is a great spot, especially if you're a foodie. They have extra seating on the lawn now too.

I have always loved Sunni Sky's ice cream for their smooth, creamy texture and pop of flavors, with so many to choose from. However, new management (since the owner sold the company) seems to be cutting corners to save money, causing a drastic decrease in the overall quality, flavor, and texture of the old Sunni Sky's that I used to know and love. The ice cream is nowhere near as flavorful and creamy as it used to be, and the ice cream has become more icy than creamy like it once was. Very sad. Hoping they take notice of this change affecting lifelong customers and bring back the old quality!

Why did it take me so long to go and try this gem?! We stopped by here on the way home the other day and my lord this ice cream is heavenly. They let me sample the different ice creams and the list of flavors is longer than my arm! I tried the strawberry cheesecake and instantly knew this was the one. Love at first bite. The angles were singing. If I could marry the strawberry cheesecake ice cream, I would have. Packed with flavor. Each bite better than the last. I've found my new favorite ice cream shop! ***Do be warned, they are cash or check only. No debit or credit cards accepted!***

If anyone asks, I'm at home in New Jersey socially isolating. Definitely didn't drive through the states that don't allow travel. So let's just pretend I ordered the following scoops: * macadamia chip cookie * cappuccino crunch * huckleberry Let's go through the flavors. I started on the huckleberry. It tastes... like huckleberries. Excellent, creamy texture. Nice size scoop. Winner. Let's go into the cappucino crunch. Not the coffeest flavor I've had, but a good balance with the crunch and the same perfect texture. I think flavor-wise, that was the low point (4/5 instead of 5/5). Macadamia for last - tasted like a macadamia chip cookie. Second day flavors: White Russian 4.5/5, dark swirl is chocolate nirvana, blueberry dumpcake is blueberry perfection. And the texture? 6/6. This place absolutely nails ice cream. What I love most is the number of flavors. I could eat a triple scoop every day for a month and still not make it all the way through. So, let me explain why this place is 5 stars. Everything is car service, and when I first visited, their spiciest flavor (exit wound) is "only available in the shop". I had to settle for cold sweat, which is an orange-colored pepper ice cream featuring large chunks of habanero (I think - possibly one level hotter). Both of these require a waiver. Cold sweat was pretty good - I'd give it a 7-7.5 out of 10 for heat - and I can only imagine what exit wound would be. So I called. And they promised me exit wound. And they delivered. Literally, hot damn, that's the spiciest ice cream I've ever handled. 10/10, would die again for it.

I would go back here just because the staff were so incredibly nice. And the ice cream is amazing too! This place is such a gem -- it's what every ice cream shop should be. My daughter is special needs and extremely picky. We didn't even try to find out what ice cream she might like because we assumed it would be a huge inconvenience for the staff and knowing how she is, she might not even try the samples. So we ordered her a strawberry ice cream and hoped she would eat it. But the staff noticed she wasn't really eating the ice cream we had bought for her and -- totally unprompted -- all started to offer her other flavors to see what she might like, even though it was a challenge to get her to taste anything unfamiliar. Mind you, we hadn't said anything, they just really cared and wanted her to have a great experience. It was truly amazing and I felt so welcome there. They absolutely went above and beyond and I will definitely be going back!

I really like this place the first ice cream I had there was the blueberry ice cream I suggest it I also suggest bubble gum and cotton candy in a waffle cone 2 scoop it's awesome and I totally suggest it.

I would give this place five stars except I wish it were just a little cleaner. I used to work at an ice cream place, and so I know it's difficult to keep clean. But every time I've gotten a cup or pint of ice cream, there's ice cream dribbling down the side, and wiping it with a wet rag just makes it worse. I've been inside when the place has had that slightly wet rag smell. Some of the ice cream is super soft, borderline, melted, well, others like vanilla is some of the best we've ever had. I'm not sure offering that many flavors is a good thing? I once ordered the chocolate sundae. The ice cream was way too soft and the chocolate sauce was just OK. And it dribbled down the side of my cup.
