Sunny Holiday Inn

Had a fabulous stay at the Voco Guangzhou Shifu. As diamond elite members, we had a complimentary room upgrade and we were blown away. The room on the 12th floor was huge, with a dining table by the curved window looking over the city and the sunset was right in front of us. There was a separate walk-in wardrobe and a large round bath tub in the bathroom. We received hot delicious homemade soup on arrival into the room, as well as a complimentary fruit bowl and first round of the mini bar. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and the whole room was exceptionally clean. The toilet was blocked but this was resolved within 10 minutes of calling reception. There are also communal washing machines and dryers to use at an additional small charge which we used. The breakfast buffet had many options to suit all tastes and the food was nice and hot, with some dim sum options as a treat. Also impressed with the gym - better than most hotel gyms we've used. Lots of modern machines and heavy weights. Excellent location, with the Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street mere seconds away. Plenty of places to eat and shop nearby. It's a shame we were only here for one night, would love to have stayed longer.

I had a wonderful stay at Voco Guangzhou Shifu. Although the official check-in time was 2pm, I was pleasantly surprised to be allowed an early check-in without any hassle. This made a big difference to my travel experience and was greatly appreciated. The room was clean, comfortable and well-equipped with all the essentials. A lovely surprise awaited me when I returned to the hotel in the evening - hot soup was provided, which was a warm and thoughtful touch that really stood out. The staff were courteous and accommodating throughout my stay. I would like to especially compliment Emily and Jack for their outstanding hospitality. Overall, a great experience with small but meaningful gestures that made it feel very welcoming. I would definitely return.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed. The hotel is large and well-appointed, offering a significant difference from smaller establishments. The reception staff (Sunny,Jimmy & Lisa) were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Upon entering my room, I was delighted to find it spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully maintained. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this hotel to others. I will definitely return in the future

Spacious and well fitted room, well maintained and clean. Great location, plenty around including the walking street and to major attractions and easily accessible. Breakfast room had a huge spread - we ate EVERY morning!||One thing I have to take time to really sing praise is the service!||Mr Wyman Li - tirelessly answering my questions on getting a parcel sent back to Singapore. He helped to co-ordinate the whole process, including carrying the 10kg box down from hotel room to lobby. He updated from beginning to end, I really appreciated his service, knowledge and assuring demeanor but was unfortunately did not have the chance to thank him personally. ||Ms Zhang Mei Juan - Housekeeping staff. She kept the place clean, remembered our previous day's request for extra water so that we never needed to repeat the request. She kept my personal bedsheet perfectly laid. She made sure that if I had laundry, it was sent promptly. Thank you!||It was my first VOCO stay, will not be the last. Thank you for your hospitality.||two notes though: Google map cannot find this hotel due to recent rebranding. Bathroom floor can really be slippery when wet. I almost slipped twice.

I would highly recommend this non-smoking hotel for those coming to Guangzhou! I am travelling with family with a child. Originally booked my stay at another hotel that states it is non-smoking rooms, but it turns out not. We immediately booked VOCO hotel the following nights.  The front desk personnel Jimmy and May was extremely helpful and friendly. They made my booking process seamlessly and even upgraded our rooms for extra comfort. My entire family were extremely satisfied with our stay.  The housekeeper services were excellent as well. She noticed that a child is staying and had offered kids slipper and toothbrush. VOCO’s service, cleanliness, location, food was beyond excellent! I also really love that the hotel delivers daily soup for guests. This is the first I’ve experienced. I would definitely stay here again when going back to Guangzhou.

Great location right next to shops and restaurants. Walking distance to Shamian and trendy Enning lu. On the other side of the hotel you can experience real local life with all small shops like dried food sellers. Rooms are really big and well designed. Service is good and very helpful. There is a laundry room (35 min washing for 25 rmb, 40 min drying for 20 rmb. Note that you need staff help if you don’t have local wechat payment) that is very convenient. My new favorite hotel in Guangzhou.

Excellent location- easy access to the Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street, Yongqingfang (10-15 minute walk) and Shamian Island (600 m walk).The streets and shops in the vicinity retain local flavour and character . Staff assigned my elderly parents an accessible room. Rooms are large and comfortable and beds are firm. Service is prompt and attentive. Of note is Eden who recommended dining spots popular with locals and eagerly assisted my elderly parents. Sunny, Wyman, Rene and Sean are efficient. The staff assisting with Didi were very kind to my elderly parents- especially Teresa.Cons- Water pressure is strong but the hot water supply is inconsistent. My room safe was faulty and my parents' bathroom had the smell of sewage.

There must have been a recent remodel or change of management at this place. I saw none of the qualifying factors mentioned in previous mediocre reviews. My stay was exceptional. The room was large and comfortable, everything was functional, staff was very nice and the breakfast had to have been the largest and most varied breakfast I've experienced in China, maybe anywhere! The neighborhood is interesting and there seems to be plenty to do. If the location is convenient to what you want to do in Guangzhou, this hotel may very well be your best bet.
