Sunnyside is what community is all about! While I love coming in here all year for so literally any occasion, I just had to share the cherry on top of what makes it so special. Walking in during the holidays is a feast for the eyes in itself. Your greeted with a Nancy Meyers-esque holiday atmosphere, that feels so warm, inviting, and magic, and to top it off it (as always) smells like home cooking. Without pre-order, without a plan, I, an hour before guests arrived, picked up everything for Christmas dinner for five.... for just $91??? That's less than $20 a head for homemade roast chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes, peas and pork, carrots and parsnips, gravy, and dressing for the salad. All of which I tossed in a sous vide bath (although, boiling water is just as good), and it was all ready and cooked to perfection in under an hour. No pots and pans, no massive grocery list, no absolutely losing my mind cooking for 5 hours. Aaaand, for fun - I tried to see what this would be if I purchased everything for this meal from Loblaws, and the total was $129.73 (!) Year-round I adore coming here for their insanely delicious homemade food and like, early 2000s prices on take-out. I love coming hear and yapping with the fabulous owner and staff. I just think they are what being a community hub is all about! Love you guys! Thanks for everything! Happy hols!

This is such a gem in the neighbourhood! Owners are super sweet and all the staff are a pleasure to interact with! Can’t forget that the products are such a hit every single time! Whether I’m serving myself or entertaining for others, I’m sure I’ll find something super scrumptious and get the best suggestions when I can’t make up my mind. They focus on the little details (sprinkles in the bottom of cones, making sure dropped/damaged product is removed, remembering names) and it really shows up leaving such a positive mark!

Sunnyside Provisions hit us with lemony hummus so zesty it could qualify as a wake-up call. 🌞🥙 Bright, tangy, and smooth enough to make you wonder why you ever settled for the sad stuff at the grocery store. The whole shop is basically snack paradise — shelves daring you to level up your pantry game and coolers whispering “take me home.” Another win on our culinary adventure food tour, and honestly, I’m still thinking about that hummus.

Ordered the meatball sub with fish (with an extra fish) and chips and a side of gravy, all of which were reasonable priced. The fish was fried to perfection. The batter was so thin, crispy and flaky and the fish was tender and moist. The bun for the meatball sub was really soft and the meatballs flavourful. The gravy went perfectly with the fries as well. Service and vibe were great. I would definitely come back here and try their other dishes.

Had the fish n chips and roast beef sandwich. Fish n chips were alright. Chips weren't that great. Roast beef sandwich was great. Highly recommend. Staff were friendly. Packaging to go was nice as well.

I called ahead to order the fish and chips take out with a side of coleslaw for pick up just before closing, inspired by the great reviews. The fish was delicious, crispy batter, tender flaky fish. The tartar sauce was equally delicious and so was the “slaw”. And the cashier was delightful. Sadly the fries were soggy and Luke warm. I know because I opened the container as soon as I got in the car so they wouldn’t “steam” on the short ride home. Sorry to say I think my order came up way before I arrived at exactly 5:45 as pre-ordered. Given the rave reviews of the fries I’m pretty sure they weren’t fresh out of the fryer. I will give them another try but next time I will order and wait not call ahead. Oh and it’s great value for the price. But if you are a fish lover, order a 2nd piece cause the portion is modest.

Follow @bredgyeats for more food pics! Days always feel sunnier when you have a box of fish and chips in your hand, emitting a mouth-watering aroma only possible with an indulgent deep-fry. The thin fillet of beer-battered haddock allows for a super crisp texture, contrasted with a flaky interior that isn't overly greasy. The fries are well-done for a more poignant texture and savory aroma, which are nicely salted.

This is one of a kind standalone Food Emporium, the owners/staff are absolutely spectacular, they are very friendly enjoy good conversation even if the place is crazy busy the staff always make you feel welcome when you enter the store and always willing to help out if you don’t know what you’re looking for…Prepared meals are to die for we used to get those boxed company brands to deliver meals to our home, but we now come to Sunnyside Provisions to get all of our prepared meals, you can’t beat home cooking and prices are very reasonable for meals that are cooked with love and passion. I’ve never had a bad meal here. Homemade dip like the spicy dill is to die for!! Do you like fish and chips?, some of the best fish and chips I’ve had and their pulled pork sandwich and other takeaway items are made with the same care and passion…a wonderful selection of wine and beer can be purchased here. It’s a one stop shop and the one thing that I admire is that the owners/staff pay attention to the fine details of running a business like this, this is always a wonderful shopping experience. I ABSOLUTELY love this place and if you’re in the Roncesvalles Village area you need to give this place a try…You won’t be disappointed…Trust me on this one 😊👍🏼
