first arrived at the lodge after spending some time in Mammoth for a ski trip. Upon arrival, we were greeted with the wonderful news that we could enjoy free champagne, and there was also a lovely tea time with biscuits. Our room, which had one queen-sized bed and a sofa bed, was bright and inviting, with a beautiful view of the lake. During tea time, we enjoyed more biscuits and had access to a variety of books and board games, all while taking in the stunning lake view. The lodge is conveniently located near the resort, making it easy to get to and from the slopes. The next morning, we went down for breakfast, which offered a wide selection, from pastries to bagels with salmon. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, especially with the crackling wood fire nearby. For dinner, we dined at the lodge’s restaurant downstairs, which had a more upscale feel. The service was excellent, and we made our choices quickly. I ordered the salmon rice bowl, which included vegetables, rice, and a flavorful sauce with a perfect balance of acidity, sweetness, and spice. I will say, though, that the salmon was slightly overcooked. My brother had the fish and chips, and the fries were absolutely delicious—crispy and savory. My dad chose the ribs, which were sweet and spicy. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the lodge

We had the most incredible experience at Sunnyside Restaurant Lodge for our wedding! Our guests who stayed in the rooms couldn’t stop raving about the exceptional quality of service and the delicious breakfast. Allie, our coordinator, was an absolute gem—super personable and fantastic at making game-time decisions, especially during our unforgettable blizzard wedding in May! Chef Christian truly outdid himself with an entirely gluten-free menu that everyone could enjoy. The food was a hit with all our guests, and we loved that it catered to different dietary needs without compromising on flavor. If you're looking for a beautiful venue with a dedicated team and amazing food, look no further than Sunnyside! Highly recommend!

The rooms inside the lodge are great and are right on the lake. There are rooms down by the parking lot that are also dog friendly, which makes this a good spot if you’re coming up to do some weekend skiing but you’ve got the dog with you. There is also complementary buffetat breakfast, tea and cookies in the afternoon and s’mores after dark.

Best hotel in Tahoe. Cozy lodge vibe with Ritz Carlton service. Great place to sit by the fire and wait out the winter weather. Skiing is overrated anyway. 10 outta 10. Would recommend. To a friend.

I hadn't been to Sunnyside for a long time, and have fond memories of their Father's Day brunch with my husband and in-laws. We went for dinner and I feel like this place has fallen on hard times. The menu is sparse and very fish and "island " heavy. If you're allergic to fish (or just don't like it) your options are basically just chicken salad or a cheese burger. Portions were inconsistent, and our wine pours were definitely light. The wait staff was very friendly and tried their best, but they seemed ill-equipped for the number of guests they had on a Friday night. We ordered a second round of drinks when our food came, and didn't get them until we were almost done. Additionally, two of the same cocktail tasted like completely different drinks. The location is amazing, and it seems that much of their income comes from tourists wanting to eat with the view. There are much better restaurants that are locally owned so the money stays in Tahoe.

Stayed at Sunnyside Lodge with my extended family and we had the best time. Rooms are updated, roomy and comfortable. The breakfast is well more than just a continental breakfast and the views are incredible. This is such a find and a perfect place for both summer and winter getaways.

We had dinner for my daughter's 30th birthday. I cannot say enough about the service, food and atmosphere. Management and wait staff were superb, lovely ambiance on the deck complete with live music, and delicious meal. We'll be back and highly recommend!

The reviews seem to be for the hotel, but we were only there for the restaurant. This was part of our tour around the lake, and for dinner decided to enjoy the Sunnyside Restaurant as it was one of few places on the west shore with waterfront seating. Service was amazing, very hospitable, aware, and a great environment. However the food was quite overcooked/burnt, and did not seem freshly served. Since there is no rating for the restaurant, I used the rooms rating to reflect it. We had the filet mignon and halibut, and vegetables came out charred and fish overcooked. However, the view, service and ambiance makes up for it! Our server was great and it made for an awesome anniversary and birthday tour around the lake.
