Delicious food and unique offerings. It’s in the mall, otherwise I’m sure it receives a 5 for atmosphere. The service was helpful and patient. They helped my young daughter find something she liked (they made her something off the menu). It’s expensive but, if you have the money, totally worth it.

Heather Young

Google
Açaí, Monkey, Blue Dream, I Lava You bowls were all excellent! There was only one guy working but he was super friendly and helpful despite being short staffed. Would totally recommend! Consistency and flavor were all great!

Google
Friendly service, nice atmosphere, and great food! We got the tropical bowl, and it came with a lot of fruit and granola. It’s made to order so be prepared to wait a bit. Get the large size especially if sharing— you won’t be able to get enough of it!

Ronja Bergli Fodstad

Google
Friendly staff and short waiting time for getting the food. I ordered the tropical bowl and would 100% have it again. The only downside is that it’s located in a food court, with makes it a noisy place. But if you’re fine with noise that won’t be a problem.

Google
A Little Slice of Paradise! Hawaii Vibes I absolutely love Sunrise Shack! The vibe is unbeatable—bright, chill, and full of good energy. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming. Their smoothie bowls are next level—so fresh, colorful, and delicious. I’ve tried all the bowls here, and every single one is amazing. It’s my go-to spot, and I can’t recommend it enough.

Google
I usually avoid leaving negative reviews, but I think it’s helpful for other vegans or vegetarians to know that I wouldn’t recommend this spot. One of the few plant-based options was avocado toast, which was just a slice of bread with mashed avocado and a few hemp seeds—lacking flavor overall. The matcha latte with coconut milk was also underwhelming and tasted watered down. What bothered me most was the price; it felt excessively high for what was offered!

Google
This was the me and my fiancé had sunrise shack! The employees were so nice, and took great care of make our bowl. There’s a generous mount of seating for everyone to enjoy their meal/snack. Would definitely come again!

I really wanted to love this place, especially since I was so excited to try an açaí bowl in Hawaii. Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the worst açaí bowls I’ve ever had. I’m giving it two stars because the staff was friendly, and the place was clean, so it wasn’t a disaster in that regard. But when it comes to the food, I’m disappointed. The texture of the açaí bowl was completely off. It was like it had been made earlier, melted, refrozen, and then served. You know that icy, gritty texture you get when something melts and is refrozen? That’s exactly what it was like. I had high hopes for a smooth, creamy bowl, but instead, it was more like a slushy mess. Honestly, I regret not waiting in the longer line at Island Vintage. Now I know why it had the crowd (I’ve had it before). I really wanted to love this, but sadly, I left feeling let down. Would not recommend unless you’re just looking for a quick snack and don’t mind the texture.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Highly recommend the monkey bowl and any of the sandwiches (the turkey is my favorite)

Yelp
Taste good, guilt free food Turkey avocado sandwich is the best. Not to mention their store is also food for the eye too.

Yelp
Tried some of their papaya bowl (which we thought had acai but didn't!) which was pretty tasty. They sadly ran out of acai bowls an hour before closing so we weren't able to try that. The peanut butter in the bowls was delicious.

Yelp
Great customer service, chill vibe but no açaí Which was disappointing but smoothie, avocado toast and monkey bowl Were good.

Yelp
I was looking for a healthy options in the food court, and I stumbled upon the sunrise shack at Alamoana. It is a very convenient location for us locals who wants a really good açai bowl but don't wanna check into Waikiki. The parking is plentiful. There are a lot of other shops to see in the area and it's a cute little place to stop if you want a cool treat. I ordered the tropical smoothie and an açai bowl. The tropical smoothie has a Pitaya swirl which is very fun looking, but I don't think it really adds anything to this smoothie. I just wish there was more mango flavors since I really do love mango. The açai was good. I wouldn't recommend taking it too far because even as I was eating in the food court, it started melting. The granola is very interesting. I thought it was a little salty , which is different from the granola I am used to on the bowls. Service was friendly and fast. I only waited just a few minutes with a few orders ahead. I asked which açaí bowl had the least amount of calories which the guy wasn't able to answer. My one suggestion would be adding that to the menu items if I had to make anything better.

Marina N.

Yelp
Food was great. The fruit on top were SO good and the base of the bowl was delish! Service was pretty fast, seating inside but pretty limited. Would definitely recommend stoping by for something filling and refreshing. We ordered: Medium tropical bowl (fruit added) Turkey sandwich w/chipa

Yelp
Tried the loaded avocado toast. Food was delicious but knocking off a star for the value for the price; $16 for one piece of toast is definitely on the higher side, but par for the course for the area. Food tasted fresh, made for the perfect breakfast on the beach!

Yelp
My fav for a post workout treat! I love the monkey smoothies it's my go to for protein!!

Yelp
WHEN: Sun @3:30pm I had just finished doing the half century ride, and I knew I wanted an açaí bowl after eating my lunch! It was hard to decide, but because I have never seen an ube açaí bowl anywhere else before, I went for the: UBE BOWL - $13.95 Base Ube Extract, Banana, Coconut Milk Tops Banana, Blueberry, Strawberry, Coconut Saucve, Granola, Coconut Flake. Okay it's more of a smoothie bowl but it was delicious! It's nice the smoothie bowls come in3 sizes and I got the small. Still had leftovers since I couldn't finish it all myself. The shop is super cute with with lots of merch to buy.

Yelp
I've been to the North shore location as well as the other Waikiki location on the western side of the strip, and was really impressed. This time, I ordered the tropical bowl and basic açaí bowl, and bowl were lacking the same flavor pop that I remember at the other two locations. The tropical bowl was a bit grainy and watery, and the acai bowl lacked flavor-- I don't know how else to describe it other than it was really bland. The service was a bit slow, with a line out the door during the morning on a weekday, so be prepared to wait. I'd probably be back because the bowls weren't terrible, but definitely a little overwhelmed for the price point.
google avatar

Kristina C.

Yelp
I was craving an Acai bowl and decided to come to Sunrise Shack to try! To be honest I was a little disappointed. For the Acai bowl i'd give it a 2 out of 5 because the only fruits that they put in bowl was just bananas. There wasn't much variety and what also killed it was the Acai tasted really watered down. After 2 minutes it would become sludge and it was just super icy as well. Overall, The staff was super friendly, but the Acai was an honest disappointment. I don't think I'll be coming back again.

Yelp
Ordered a veggie vibes sandwich and it was way over saturated with mustard & mayonnaise. I couldn't taste the nutritional yeast or papaya seed dressing at all. The sandwich came with a "salad", but it was just mixed greens, no dressing. When I asked them for the dressing, they said it didn't come with dressing and was to be eaten with the sandwich. When I asked like extra lettuce for the sandwich, the employee said yes. I also had to wipe down the counter to eat there, even though the young men working seemed to have time to horseplay and text on their phone. I also see the photos of other peoples sandwiches came with a lemon, which I did not get. Not worth the price.

Yelp
Not your typical looking veggie sand with sprouts but super flavorful! Wow, the Vegan Vegie Vibe is a bomb full of flavors! Definitely a go to!!!
google avatar

Yelp
So many delicious options to pick from! From coffee, toast, smoothie bowls, and smoothies. We ended up getting acai smoothie and tropical smoothie. Both smoothies were refreshing and delicious!
google avatar

Nareena V.

Yelp
We came to the sunrise shack to try their acai bowls! I got the papaya bowl (without peanut butter) and my boyfriend got the blue dream. Both were good. I felt like the papaya needed a bit more liquid so I added some of his blue dream to my bowl and it was delicious! This location is located on the first floor of Alo Moana near the food court so there's lots of parking!

Yelp
The Sunrise Shack is a cute little food establishment located at Ala Moana Center in the food court. You can't miss it as it's bright yellow and has a very happy feel! I first heard about the Sunrise Shack on Cheap eats with Guy Hagi, but never had a chance to try them out until now. I stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. They have a lot of options for smoothies, bullet coffee, as well as bowls, including tropical fruit bowl, Matcha bowl, and açaí bowls. I was really hungry, so I opted to get the turkey ceasar avocado sandwich. After placing my order, I had my freshly made sandwich within a few minutes. The staff here is super friendly and made me feel very welcomed. The turkey Caesar avocado sandwich was really good! It has organic turkey, kale, with carrots, onion, lemon, dressing, and salt and pepper on toasted bread. Really delicious and filling. I definitely want to come back and try some other other options, the bowls and smoothies look fantastic!

Yelp
I visited this location on 7/5 during my vacation in Oahu. It was inside the Ala Moana shopping center, inside the food court. My friend actually recommended this place to me, as it was her favorite acai spot. We tried the acai bowl and the POG bowl. I thought it was very refreshing, especially since it was a hot day, and there was so much fresh fruit too! The only thing that I noticed, at least for my order, was that it had much more granola than other places. I would have liked a little bit less, but that's a personal preference. The inside decor was so vibrant and inviting. The store sold their own coffee beans and shirts. They even sold stickers too (I had to pick one up - it was so cute!). I would have liked to try one of their smoothies but we had too much food. Next time!

Yelp
Freshness is found here... Lucky to live Hawai'i as there's so many fresh fruits and veggies found here and the recipe to combine all that goodness is found right here at The Sunrise Shack. Located in Ala Moana Center just below the escalators behind the Center Stage outside the Makai Market Food Court is this vibrant yellow shop with their service counter is a shack lol surrounded by various fun merchandise with the painted blue skies ceiling giving you that fun outdoorsy vibe. Whenever I feel the need for some "C" I do love to stop here for their yummy smoothies which varies depending on my cravings and mood and yes I'm sorry for no pics as I sip it as soon as I get them lol! Acai Smoothie or I Lava U Smoothie is my favorite all freshly made fast and efficient with the friendliest staff this shack has it all. Thank you!

Yelp
The papaya bowls here are LIFE ($9.95). I usually go to the one by my place in Waikiki, but I was in the mall and decided to stop by I've tried almost every bowl on the menu and my go to is the papaya bowl. I forgot to say almond butter but they load them upppp with peanut butter. Such a good, filling, and healthy snack!
google avatar

Keisha D.

Yelp
Great service and order came out quick. Convenient that it wasn't too busy on a Saturday afternoon.
google avatar

Hyunhee K.

Yelp
The worst açaí bowl I've ever had since 2012. Banana smell like spoiled. And açaí was ROOM TEMPERATURE. I let the server/ cashier know and all she said was that oh would you like to throw this away?
google avatar

Miranda C.

Yelp
Such a great vibe! I got the Monkey Bowl and added strawberries and blueberries. Highly recommend if you like bananas and peanut butter! Service was quick too!
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
Yummy heathy snacks by the beach!! Recommend the papaya bowl 14million out of 10 rating
google avatar

Yelp
Customer service excellent and best acai in town. I recommend the classic açai with peanut butter in the base.

Yelp
I love the idea of supporting real people/small businesses, rather than big corporations. The Sunrise Shack was founded by professional surfers who are into healthy living and it is a truly magnificent place with Hawaiian vibes. Their food is healthy and delicious, and if you are a coffee lover, definitely try their bulletproof coffee - it is a nice and healthier option for your average cup of joe!

Yelp
Sunrise Shack - cute little stop before getting into the shopping atmosphere. My gf and I picked up a POG smoothie to share at a reasonable price. Would come here again for a quick energy boost. Extremely pleased with the drink!
google avatar

Yelp
A super cute and accessible shack! I got the blue dream smoothie and it's amazing! Awesome snack in the middle of shopping(:

Yelp
Quaint little spot tucked on the side of the food court in alamoana serving up wellness shots, açaí bowls, smoothies and more! Quick and friendly service with some seating options. I shared an açaí bowl and wellness shots
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful service. Employees were extremely helpful and made wonderful suggestions. Service was super quick. The tropical bowl that we ordered was totally bussin!
google avatar

Yelp
I have seen this chain all over Oahu and wanted to stop in to try it out. We were at the mall so we popped in and I got their $12 acai bowl and added blueberries and strawberries. It's not as fancy as other places that specializes in açaí bowls but it did the job. I liked how it wasn't super sweet. Some places drown the acai in honey and other sweeteners.

Ash C.

Yelp
The bowl is delicious! The service is really quick and they are friendly! I will be returning when I need an acai bowl!
google avatar

Jeneen M.

Yelp
It's been a long while since I got something from this place. I ordered a POG smoothie bowl. Way overpriced $16.70 with tax for a small smoothie bowl. Service was slow, with one other person and I waiting for our order. Never was offered my receipt. The shop looks cool with its artsy vibrant colors with local background music. Also the matcha flavor smoothie and bowl got discontinued. Most likely will not order from sunrise shack again.
google avatar

Paige T.

Yelp
New location has friendly staff and the tropical smoothie was fresh. Happy with my order :)

Yelp
This place is located at the Makai Market food court in Ala Moana. It was founded by the Smith brothers ( Travis, Alex, Koa) who all surf. They believe in serving healthy food, which everything on the menu is. I was at Haleiwa Bowls not too long ago and they had the Blue Majik Bowl that I wanted to try. The Sunrise Shack has its own called the Blue Dream Bowl. It's made with Blue Majik Spirulina blended with banana, mango, coconut cream, almond milk, honey and salt. It's topped with granola, blueberries, strawberries and coconut flakes. I've never had blue majik spirulina before and I'm not sure what it's supposed to taste like. It just tasted like bananas to me. The bowl was delicious though and it's supposed to be really healthy. If anyone knows what blue majik spirulina tastes like please let me know.

Yelp
Sunrise Shack in Hawaii offers a vibrant blend of healthy, organic foods and beverages. Founded by professional surfers, it embodies a positive, health-centric lifestyle. The menu features a variety of organic coffees, smoothies, and healthy bowls, all crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Their website also includes a shop with unique merchandise like eco-friendly utensils, branded apparel, and their signature coffee beans. With multiple locations, including Sunset Beach and Waikiki, Sunrise Shack is a go-to spot for delicious, nutritious food in a cheerful, welcoming atmosphere. On a hot day in Hawaii Nei, Sunrise Shack saves the day!!

Yelp
Went in this evening to buy my son a açaí bowl. When we got it, they didn't have spoons available. Omg!
google avatar

Rozet S.

Yelp
I was so excited to see this spot while shopping in the area! It was a much needed pick me up after a long flight. I ordered the Tropical Bowl and it was amazing! Fruits were fresh and the bowl itself was delicious. Highly recommend this spot!

MauiMama M.

Yelp
The monkey bowl is the most amazing bowl I've ever had. Staff was super friendly and I can't wait to come back and try more
google avatar

Kimberly D.

Yelp
If you're looking for a delicious açaí bowl or smoothie for breakfast, this is the place! They have several different options - either preset choices or customize as you like. The taste is fresh and the toppings were lovely. I enjoyed the tropical bowl. It's not cheap for what it is, but it's fresh and yummy and close to Waikiki Beach. There is a small counter with barstools, but otherwise not really a place to sit and eat. I walked down to Waikiki and enjoyed my breakfast there. Service is good and it doesn't take too long for orders to come out. Would definitely pop in here again for a quick breakfast.
google avatar

Tahs L.

Yelp
Probably the worst smoothie I've ever had honestly. Despite this the interior was pretty and the vibe is cool on the inside of this place. For the price of my smoothie I will just say it was not worth it. Also barely any topping which was disappointing. I will give the service for being decent but I did have to wait a bit. Maybe more flavor in the smoothies would help and maybe the bowls are what they're better known for.
google avatar

Mia H.

Yelp
Located in the Makai Market food court at Ala Moana mall, it's a very convenient stop if you're already shopping! I was just walking around in the food court when I saw it and decided to try out this location. I got the acai bowl and it was delicious. The perfect portion size and everything was fresh. Staff here was friendly and quick, and I would definitely come back if I was in the mall and craving something sweet and light.
google avatar

Tiffany Y.

Yelp
The tropical acai bowl here was very good, and for anyone who likes mango, pineapple, and coconut, I would recommend they try this bowl! We did find the blend to be a bit on the icier side (had a few ice chunks in the bowl) but overall the taste was refreshing and delicious! The ambience inside is so cute and I love the orange and yellow decor!

Allyssa V.

Yelp
Love the bowls!! Acai is my fave here!! I love the staff, theyre always so welcoming!

Angelina C.

Yelp
Great service, tropical bowl was amazing and came out quickly 10/10 recommend to anyone
google avatar

Yvonne G.

Yelp
I found this place several years ago. I love their background story. The best Açaí bowls, and avocado toast ever. I love their merch too! Could not wait to take my daughter there and she had her first Açaí bowl. She loved it. Will go back every time I'm in Honolulu. A work friend of mine also frequents The Sunrise Shack when she's in Hawaii.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
I absolutely love the sunrise shack been to all the locations, but this one is very convenient and rarely a line. The sandwiches and coffee never disappoint.
