Rooms: beautiful and spacious. If you get the double twin beds, you can push them together. Bath tub is small, but much bigger than the other Japan hotel we stayed in.
The corridor is sort of open air, so the rain falls into the building and lands beautifully on an inside rock garden.
Service: Extremely kind staff. If you’re looking for English, they do their best and all know enough to help. Otherwise you can use Google translate for a little assistance. They have umbrellas at the door for guests to borrow.
Location: A little far from the main attractions, so it’ll be roughly 30-60 minutes by bus to get anywhere. If you’re staying in Kyoto, just know that you’ll be taking a lot of buses, as the train system isn’t as vast here. Hotel is right next to two main bus stops and about 6-10 minute walk from train station.
Across the street is an awesome temple and garden with a museum. You can but a combination ticket to visit three spots that are across the street.
It’s also almost connected to a mini mart, so if you need anything it’s literally right there.
