This restaurant is worth visiting for the ambiance and breathtaking views alone. It’s easily one of the most scenic spots in Ibiza, and the sunset here is truly unforgettable. That said, the food itself is fairly average, with limited options for vegetarians, which feels like a missed opportunity given the setting. In the past, evenings would turn into a party, but due to new local noise restrictions (and maybe influence from the mega clubs), the vibe has shifted. After 10 pm guests are now given headphones for a “silent disco”, which is a fun idea, but it doesn’t quite capture the energy and atmosphere the venue was once known for.

The reviews seem to have really dropped the last month or so. We went anyway as I’ve heard a lot of hype. I hope this can be a helpful but honest review What to know before going: • Not fine dining – expect a busy, casual beach bar vibe. Lots of people in bikinis, loud atmosphere, music playing. • Atmosphere is the main draw – clapping and drumming at sunset, Ibiza music vibes, beautiful view if you’re lucky enough to get a booth. Otherwise, your view will likely be blocked by people taking photos. • Food is VERY average – limited menu (many dishes unavailable even with two weeks left in season including no fruit?! ), rushed service (mains arriving within 5 minutes after ordering! )salty dishes( veggie Thai was inedible). Feels more like a canteen than a restaurant. • Prices – drinks are reasonable by Ibiza standards (€30 bottle of wine), but the food doesn’t justify the cost. • Best strategy – go for drinks and the sunset atmosphere, not for the food. Get a booth the sunset side. If you want a proper meal, eat elsewhere. You could even take a picnic to the beach below for the same view. Overall: A lively place to soak up Ibiza energy at sunset, but the hype around the restaurant is not matched by the food or service. Worth it for a drink, not for dinner

I’ve been to Sunset Ashram a few times before, and the atmosphere is always lively and chilled — especially around sunset. This time I went for dinner on my birthday, and while the vibe was festive with a live DJ, it was extremely crowded and very loud. People were dancing, which is part of the charm, but it made for a less relaxing dining experience. The service was super friendly, and the food was really good, though quite pricey. Unfortunately, we were seated at what must be the worst table in the whole restaurant — a tiny counter space where we couldn’t even fit all our plates, dishes and glasses properly. To make things worse, we were right next to the bar queue, so people were constantly brushing up against us with arms, bags, and even bumping into my head. It was super uncomfortable, especially since we were hungry and had ordered quite a bit. While the setting is undeniably beautiful and has great energy, I honestly wouldn’t recommend going there for a full dinner unless you manage to get a proper table. Drinks and dancing, yes — that’s the real experience. But for food, it just didn’t feel worth it this time. After about two hours, we were politely asked to pay and leave, which just confirmed that the focus is more on fast turnover than a relaxed dinner experience.

Sunset Ashram is an Ibiza classic and a must-visit every time we’re on the island. Set in a stunning, secluded location with beautiful beaches on either side, it offers everything you could want for a perfect day or evening out. There’s a fantastic restaurant and bar, a very Ibiza clothing shop, and always a great vibe with well-curated music. The food consistently impresses, especially the sushi, which is incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The service is warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. The sunsets here are simply unforgettable, painting the sky in breathtaking colors as you dine or relax with a drink. Whether you’re planning a romantic evening or a lively dinner with friends and family, Sunset Ashram delivers every time. It’s one of those places that becomes a staple in your itinerary, and for us, it truly is.

Atmosphere is nice because you’re right at Cala Comte and the sunset is right there. But please do not order the nachos and never never order the Hamburger. The nachos were supposed to have chicken which had none and have cheese sauce, the one that you buy in the supermarket for your kids. The hamburger had the same cheese sauce and they don’t know the distinction between rare, medium, medium well, etc… By the way they were patties, the ones you also buy at the supermarket, not home made. The only thing I can say is that the mixed croquetas were good. I have been in Ibiza many many times…this restaurant is in decay, it seems they are cooking for the type of clientele that doesn’t care about the food they eat. Quality is not their main priority, by the way expensive.!.!…Don’t drink wine, drink beer.

Google
Absolutely amazing, was a little blown away by the totality of this place. From the food to the drinks to the staff up to the absolutely amazing sunset. People who like serenity and peace will not enjoy themselves here during the summer season. It's a very busy place which causes a bit of chitchat noise all around but don't let that bother you. You need reservations for this one but won't regret it! Didn't know this place before but was blown away by it. This is one of those places where you need to have someone with you who thinks well ahead to book a table because if you don't, forget the sunset hours.

Google
Great sunset. Lots of prime people watching. Drummers and dancing on the beach outside the restaurant. Inside the music is great and there is a dance floor. Service was great even though the restaurant was packed. Food and drinks were good.

We arrived with no reservation but were still able to grab a seating. There was a bit of a queue but it didn’t take too long to be greeted by the hostess. But if you want to seat on the booth to get a better view of the water I would recommend to book a table online as all good tables had a reserved tab on them. The waiter that served us was friendly and very helpful explaining the menu and arranging extra chair for friends that joined us later. Food took a bit to come to the table but it was pretty busy. Their menu is translated to various languages such as english, Russian and Italian. Food was pretty good but quite expensive for the serving. But the view to cala comte was UNREAL! It was also possible to buy plastic bottle of water to take to the beach, it did cost €7 for a small one though. Very pricey! The food was good but also quite expensive considering the serving size.

Yelp
If you are visiting Ibiza, you have to visit Sunset Ashram! This place offers amazing views, great vibes and drinks. It is almost always crowded so making a reservation is recommended if you want to grab dinner at this place. I visited this place to grab quick drinks and enjoy the sunset! I ordered a virgin Margarita, tad bit expensive but when you look at the view, you really don't mind paying the extra buck. Sunset Ashram is slightly away from the main strip of the Island so plan accordingly! Also, getting back from the Ashram is a little painful if you don't have your own car. You have to wait a bit for the taxi and there is no uber service available. Overall 10/10 to this place! I'll surely visit again when I'm back in Ibiza!

Yelp
This is definitely my favorite beach and restaurant in Ibiza! I always come when I'm in town and it's honestly one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen! Great food, service, and atmosphere.

Yelp
Beautiful atmosphere and food is good too! We got the ceviche and the tuna tartare and both were fine. This place is located on one of the nicer beaches in Ibiza - Cala Comte. Views were stunning and vibes were immaculate. Definitely book in advance as this place gets really packed. Food and drinks are pricey though, however not too unreasonable for a beach side restaurant in Ibiza.

Yelp
The view here is amazing! Best to come while the sun is setting, but I would not necessarily recommend a full dinner here. Food was average and the service was not good at all. Best off just coming here for drinks and an app!

Yelp
When the four horsemen come down to remove humans from earth they will miss this place because it's already in heaven

Yelp
Weird menu. Random cuisines offered (Thai, Japanese, and Mediterranean). Below average food. The sunset is beautiful, yes, but you can see the sunset anywhere. When leaving, there's no taxi line or way to get a car. Every Uber/taxi cancels on you and you're left stranded. The best part about coming here is the gift shop. I'm not sure why people recommend coming here but I wouldn't come back. There are way better options in Ibiza.

Yelp
This is the first negative review I've ever written. Having worked as a waitress in a Michelin-starred restaurant, I understand the importance of treating everyone with respect and professionalism. Unfortunately, I've never experienced such poor treatment in a dining establishment. When we were unsure about our seating, a tall, dark-haired waiter (who appeared to be Italian) rudely responded, "it's not your business." I've never encountered such arrogance before, and it's clear this place needs to seriously reconsider its staff. The service and communication were so bad that we couldn't even enjoy a meal or drinks. This place is all hype and no substance--not worth the stress.

Yelp
If you decide to dine here on your visit to Ibiza, make sure you book a reservation. This restaurant gets absolutely hectic most likely to its relation to the very beautiful beach and cliffside its next to. I was visiting the neighboring beach and didn't have dinner reservations till late at night so I was able to see how crazy it gets here. First, the hostess is absolutely overwhelmed. She cannot move up your reservation and you most likely will not get the seat selection you want. They have a DJ playing good music. However, they do not have room to accommodate a dance floor. Everything from the bar where the drinks are going out to the best area to dine is just a mess of people. As for the food, it was decent. We had a couple of sushi rolls and an interesting take on some pad thai. Our server also had way too much to deal with, so we were patient. Leaving here at night is not recommended. We had no access to a working phone so we couldn't call a taxi. Only after asking three separate staff members did someone call for us. Everyone is waiting for taxis that will take about thirty minutes to get to that part of the island. We went ahead and split a ride with other tourists on some random driver offering rides to guests. Not the best exit plan but it was better than being there any longer. Good views overall. Leave after sunset.

Yelp
Tourist Trap! Gorgeous views. Lovely place. Food and service a disaster. Music good. I'd go to enjoy a drink and leave it at that. Don't waste your money on subpar food. It has a great vibe but you can't eat that. It's maximally crowded and they could not care less about quality of service or food. Ate a mediocre hamburger with congealed American cheese and a dab of foie gras. A must to avoid.

Yelp
The location and views are gorgeous. I tried the mixed grilled seafood dish and it was phenomenal. It included three different types of grilled fish, shrimp, grilled calamari, and roasted potatoes. Portion size was very large too. The margarita was too sweet for my liking and lacked a salt rim, but otherwise refreshing after a day of swimming in the sea below. There are plenty of seafood, meat, and sushi options, as well as vegetarian-friendly dishes. I did not try the desserts but they looked stunning on other tables. The service was really great, especially considering how crowded the restaurant was. You definitely pay for the setting and terrace views, but consider it worth it for the experience and incredible scenery. I highly recommend making reservations beforehand -- I was lucky to get one in the late afternoon, but they fill up quickly for dinner and evening times (popular to watch the sunset).

Yelp
The view at this place is something you NEED to see when you are in Ibiza. Spectacular views that are meant to last in your memories for a life time. The vibe and the music was such a great vibe and having the beach accessible to you is also another plus. The food presentation was amazing. The choices in the menu were very diverse which means there is something for everyone! It's pretty pricey but the view makes up for it. The quality of the food was fantastic but maybe not worth the super high price. I'm giving this place 4 stars because the service was not so great. Servers were not very attentive and it took really long to order a drink or to hound any sever down. Grabbing the check also took very long. Overall this place had good food but really, the best part of it all was catching the beautiful sunset in one of the most godly places in Ibiza!

Yelp
I feel obligated to review an embarrassing episode that we experienced on April 21, 2024, at 3:45 PM, at Sunset Ashram, Cala Compte, by an employee of said business. I cannot provide the name, but I can describe what he was doing at that time. He is a young man of very short stature and size, dark-skinned, who at that time was the waiter in charge of the area with Balinese beds. Yesterday afternoon, a group of three girls, including myself, went to have a good time. As soon as we entered the premises towards the terrace, this man shamelessly began to make fatphobic comments and jokes towards one of the people in our group, in order to laugh with the rest of his colleagues (other waiters, stationed at the nearby bar and what was probably a security guard). He provided a series of jokes that he and his colleagues enjoyed very much, as you can imagine, causing discomfort to the customers who came to have a good time without questioning anyone's body diversity and finding ourselves surrounded by a group of cruel people who are in charge of serving and representing the business. At first, I personally ignored it to spare the affected person the embarrassment. However, later on, I approached them alone to discuss what had happened because I found it extremely cruel coming from someone who, furthermore, works facing the public. I suggested that they tell me the name of a responsible manager to inform them of what happened, since both he and his colleague (the possible security guard) continued to make fun of the situation, gaslighting, laughing, and of course refusing to provide me with the information. Since I didn't want to cause any more discomfort to the affected person, I decided to leave the incident there and enjoy (as best we could) the rest of the afternoon. However, I feel obligated to alert anyone else who may intend to go that it is a place where respect is lacking, body diversity is not respected, and of course, the staff members openly display and manifest fatphobia. It's pathetic that not only was the aforementioned individual enjoying the situation and the jokes, as I mentioned, but also the rest of the staff around him. Truly lamentable.

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about this place. Everyone goes to Ibiza to party and check out the night life, and you should do that too as it is amazing. But, I think places like this give Ibiza the well deserved reputation of being a place where people with all tastes can enjoy and have a good time. Their is a reason why this place is called the Sunset Ashram. If you want to see a beautiful sunset while you enjoy some amazing food and drinks... along with the possibility of some good music and wonderful weather then this place might be a must stop for you... We really got all of the above and enjoyed it... Some of the pics might show some of it.. Food: The food we had was some of the most exceptional food we had on the island: - Chicken (Pollo) Curry: Nearly the best Chicken curry I have had outside of India. Simply amazing. - Costillas cordero (Rack of Lamb): Was amazing. Very soft and flavorful. - Pulpo braseado (Braised Octopus): Equally amazing as the lamb and maybe the best octopus dish I have had till date. - Tali Vegetal (Vegetarian Thali): Good combination of vegetarian dishes. Would definitely recommend it for vegetarian people. The drinks with the view were exceptional. If in Ibiza, I would recommend this place hands down!!... Go for it.

Yelp
I have never encountered such rude professionals in all my dining experience. Several servers bumped into me multiple times while I was waiting to be seated and didn't even acknowledge me. The manager-God only knows how she got that title-tried to seat me with another couple. They just oddly looked at her like, "really?" At least the food was good (should be for 25 euro for 8 pieces of sushi) and the view spectacular

Yelp
Today was my first day in Ibiza and I happen to be staying within walking distace from this beautiful cliffside restaurant. I walked down to have dinner and got what I thought to be the best table in the house right on the corner overlooking both sides of the ocean. The servers where all extremely friendly and quick with service. I ordered few appetizers which were beautifully plated and tasted amazing! I got the filo filled with mozzerella and pesto and a crunchy tuna sushi roll type thing. I can't wait to go back tomorrow to try something else. The restaurant has great vegetarian options as well. Make sure if you go late to make a reservation, the place does get very busy. We got lucky with our walk-in. After we ate we walked down the side of the restaurant to the beach to take photos of the breathtaking sunset which led to some great silhouette photos! I've never seen so many different colors in the sky at once. Also good enough size waves for some surfing here! I will definately be back!

Yelp
I have to say, the view is an absolute must see. A completely jaw dropping experience of scenery. As for the food, it's on the pricey upper side. Was it good? Yes but it wasn't the greatest. The view is what makes sunset ashram so popular. I recommended coming here - I Yelp For The People

Yelp
Nice place, also the Architecture (Ethno-Style), very nice view. Crowded, but efficient waitresses. Drank only, due to the eating disrecommendations.

Yelp
Enjoying a really good dinner coupled with extraordinary drinks (such as the fantastic fresh strawberry Mojito) and live entertainment at this beautiful location makes this place a must visit not just for the sunset and surrounding beach. Had the excellent Burrata salad, very nice lamb chops and finished with an overload of Chocolate. Super friendly but sometimes overwhelmed service.

Yelp
Great view. Food is good too. I highly recommend this place to all the tourists visiting Ibiza

Yelp
The Sunset Ashram and the surrounding beaches should not be missed for a sunset, and you should visit at least once in your trip. Beers are affordably priced and you may walk up from the beach to grab some to go. Food is expensive and they have an annoying yet understandable time limit for eating at the tables, especially around sunset times. The Balearic Sea is just steps from this establishment and the view is like heaven from the main eating area. The DJ off to left adds a pleasant soundtrack to the experience. There is ample parking on the road out front; you may need to walk a bit though-- or the local bus has a stop here. My memories from here are quite fond; watching sunset here was one highlight of my trip to Ibiza and I hope to return one day again, maybe on one of the many boats parked in the water some meters from shore.

Yelp
While this menu was expensive, I will argue that half of the fee was paying for the location, weather, and atmosphere and most of the time I hate that, but this place is just beautiful. Cala Conta... Look it up. It was also a birthday lunch for me so I really didn't care too much. Scarfing my burger down with a beautiful beach and crystal clear water surrounding me would have been easy even if the burger was bad, but I'd say it was delicious. The bun had a nice crunch and the blue cheese spread easily over the tasty caramelized onions when I smushed the top bun down. A very good experience indeed. If you come to Ibiza, I'd definitely suggest coming to Cala Conta even if you don't plan on eating here. #foodcomaking approved!
google avatar

viviana c.

Yelp
Cala Conta beach is a must if you're in Ibiza! The food at Sunset Ashram was good nothing extraordinary but half the time you aren't really concentrated on the food, instead you're focused more on the breathtaking crystalline waters in front of you! The place was nice it had this zen feeling to it with good music in the background, some good eye candy & charismatic employees .They also have these cool cabanas that I believe you can rent out . I liked that it was self service because then you don't have to deal with the hassle of splitting the bill if you're with a larger party. Overall good experience.

Yelp
The view is the only thing that saved this review. It's an absolute stunning location, cliff side on the ocean. The food was good, but not worth the high prices. The staff was inattentive which led to many problems. First, I ordered the cantaloupe parfait. They brought me a pistachio dish. I also spent several minutes trying to flag a server down to get a drink. Finally, at the start of the meal, we were brought a humus platter. Nobody in my party ordered it and we saw them bring out to many other tables so we assumed it was an appetizer. When the server brought the bill, we were charged for the platter. At 21 euro! The servers claimed we ordered it, and because we ate it, we had to pay for it. It was very shady and obvious they prey on tourists who won't say anything. So if anything shows up on your table that you didn't order, don't tough it!
