We visited SATP for 10 days from 6th September and really loved everything about the hotel - as many others have stated the staff absolutely do make this place but I won’t focus in on singling anyone out especially when it’s been highlighted in many previous reviews. ||Location |Negril is beautiful - it’s not as touristy as Montego Bay and we really liked that - the only but would be that because of its quieter, more laid back environment, there are not that many excursions to do locally, some of the tours are a bit further out so you will spend time travelling to and from the trip you choose. That said, Negril & the surrounding area of the resort, is beautiful enough to make you not want to travel far! ||Resort |This place is breathtaking! If you want a true rainforest experience look no further, and expect to enjoy a really personal, private holiday in a small resort where loud, lively entertainment and animation teams are not the thing! We absolutely loved this element and it’s this that will make us return I am sure. ||On that, many many guests have visited SATPs multiple times because they treat returning guests so well, with ‘Returners’ dinners, special wristbands, extra treats and perks - it’s so considered & isn’t something we’ve seen before. ||The environment is divine! Hummingbirds on your patio, frog and bird song to send you to sleep & wake you, the natural soundtrack of the rainforest during your spa treatments, the vendors on the beach - all of it is just amazing! ||The accommodation |The individual cabins add to the private, couples experience, they are comfortable and the bathroom is very spacious. If I had to critique the cabins I’d say they are nearing the point of an upgrade and as we spread out a lot a bit more space in the bedroom area would have been nice. ||The food was repetitive as others have said - we have small appetites so this didn’t bother us at all, the quality was great but perhaps the selection limited - I suspect as it’s a low occupancy hotel, they can’t cook the large variation as there would likely be wastage. ||Every interaction with hotel staff was a joy! ||It’s a very casual place - don’t overpack your best holiday gear, as dinner is relaxed and not at all dressy.||The beach is a 5 min walk across a road - no biggie & it’s a stunning beach, we considered it to be the best along the coast,. Beds are always available- only very minor complaint might be that security need to be ‘on it’ a bit faster to police the beach as you do get passer-by’s stop to admire & then experience, when you have paid to have a private beach it’s a bit disappointing to see those who haven’t paid for that to enjoy it but I know that sounds a bit mean!!||Weather |We experienced a few heavy downpours during our stay - maybe 3 or 4 storms - but whilst it’s a heavy dump of rain, it’s fairly short lived and honestly, just another unique experience in the rainforest! It was humid though - imagine Monica in Friends ‘it’s the humidity!’ so ladies find your hair products as the hotel hairdryer is a bit rubbish!! ||Overall we loved it here - the ‘complaints’ are v insignificant because it’s pretty much paradise here, stop looking now & book in!
