How to Explore Ludington, Michigan

"I stayed at Sunset Bluff Resort in a little yellow A-frame with cozy cabin vibes and all the essentials; the best part was a private fire pit by the water where we roasted s’mores, watched cotton-candy sunsets, and cracked open local beers—exactly the kind of place that melts stress away." - Matthew Kepnes

What a wonderful resort! We loved the view from the Birch Bungalow. Our little home away from home had everything we needed for some lovely family time. Great boat rental. Friendly hosts, responded quickly when we needed more paper products. Very clean facilities & trails. Great pool & shuffleboard courts. A+ experience, recommend highly.

We had the best experience at Sunset Bluff for our family trip last week. The upgrades have made our traveling lighter and our stay nicer. With newly added air conditioner(could not have survived the 80 degree week without it),amazing beds(honestly more comfortable than our bed at home), and supplying dish towels, bath towels, soaps, exc. Owners were friendly and professional. They also went above and beyond!! We have already booked our spot for next year, and we can't wait!!

Absolutely loved our stay at Sunset Bluff Resort! The cabins were cozy, the lake views were stunning, and the peaceful atmosphere was just what we needed. The owners were warm and welcoming—truly a hidden gem. We’ll definitely be back!

We had the best time here. It was quiet, dog friendly, and we saw the sunset every night. We rented one of the pontoon boats which was a highlight. Natalie was very responsive when we needed anything.

My wife and I had a wounderfull time. Very quite stay, we docket our boat and wen on the lake every day. This place is top notch. Freindly and smiling faces. Everything was clean. I would return in a minute, we didn't want to go home.

Although we did not stay at this charming lakeside resort, We rented canoes and kayaks from them. This is our second year in a row doing so and we couldn't be more pleased with both the service and quality of equipment. Frank is a joy to be around and is very kind and patient. The lake is beautiful and easily navigable. Each vessel is $10 per hour to rent and can be paid for by cash or credit card (if you choose to pay by credit card, there is a 3% transaction fee). We fully plan on returning next year to rent kayaks and canoes for the family again :-)

Sunset Bluff Resort is a wonderful place to stay if you need a break from the busy hustle of daily life. We planned our trip to Lake Hamlin for my birthday and I was not disappointed! The owners of the property were very nice and welcoming. The resort was quite and serene. We stayed in the ‘Pentagon’ cabin. The beds were very comfortable, there is a gas fireplace in the living room and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking our meals. The big window faced the lake and every night we were blessed with a beautiful sunset. Our main reason for this trip was for fishing and it was nice to have a place to return to, after a long day on the water, that felt like home. We would stay here again, the only draw back I can find is that there is not a television and we like to watch the evening news before we go to bed. I would recommend Sunset Bluff Resort to anyone looking to stay on Lake Hamlin.|||

Yelp
This place is a great throwback to Michigan "up north" vacations. Cabins are clean, staff is super friendly, and the sunsets are indeed beautiful.

Yelp
Called and spoke to someone about a boat rental yesterday for later in the week. Super nice gentleman. Said he had an older pontoon that would be available for the entire day and we immediately booked it. Received a call today and was told the boat was no longer available without being given any reason why. Assume they decided to rent it to one of their guests, but they also lost a future guest because of it. Poor customer service.

Yelp
Have frequented this resort for years. It is remote. It is quite rustic. But the buildings are well maintained & the staff are friendly & quick to help. Will most definitely return again and again.

Yelp
Please do not waste your vacation dollars here. Especially if you are looking at the A Frames. They are falling apart. Our toilet and hot water heater both broke. The septic tank is right outside the bedroom and the smell was awful. We had a hard time getting the management to fix anything. Also the lake in the picture on the website is not what is in front of this resort. You cannot swim in the lake in front of the resort. It was full of algae and seaweed. Lastly the A Frames are very small. Management said capacity was 6, but 2 adults and 2 kids is what should be the maximum.
