Sunset Cinema Canberra

A really lovely experience, and for me, well worth buying the premium lounge tickets for the convenience of not having to bring any seating and get a great snack and drink. To walk through the gardens and see bats flying overhead while enjoying the movie was just delightful. Notably they also offered those with accessibility needs a lift on a small motorised cart as there is a notable walk (10-15 mins, uphill) but is doable. Movie starts at last light, so there's plenty of time to get there and enjoy the scenery beforehand - I brought a blanket which was all was needed, everything else was provided. My original booking was cancelled and this was a subsequent booking with the credit recieved which was very easy to exchange for another evening. Highly reccomended!

Had a lovely walk up to the cinema site. We got there just as gates opened at 6:30pm. We were able to relax on the grass listening to the birds, and watching the lizards and kangaroos. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We grabbed some popcorn and dinner form the Taco place just before the movie started. Can't fault the experience, will definitely be back again.

We arrived when gates opened at 6.30pm and waited for two hours for the movie to start. It wasn’t clearly advertised that the movie wouldn’t start until that much later and it seemed gates only opened so early so that people could come in and buy the expensive food from the food vans. With two kids in tow this meant that we had to leave before the movie even finished because it was so late. This should really have been taken into consideration for families. When looking much more closely at the website, I noticed that it said that movies start at last light. However, they really don’t need to start that late, as the screen can still clearly be seen when they turn off the bright lights shining onto the canvas. Won’t be going again.

Great experience. Great staff and food vans on hand. Worth the time. Bring warm clothes to wrap up in when the sun goes down

Good place to chill and relax watching your movie of choice with the bean bag for $10 and enjoy your food or you can buy food from inside in reasonable price❤️❤️

Really nice screening in the outdoors with excellent visuals and audio. Beanbags rented were really comfy and the sunset lounge pass eliminates the need to bring your own seating and picnic mats and coming in earlier to reserve the good spots. Some bugs flying around at dusk and lots of mozzies so do bring a mosquito repellent. Also a little blanket/socks/sweater cuz it gets quite chilly at night. Some food and drinks options available but didn't really check it out. The movie starts at last light so it might be a bit bright when it started but will quickly turn dark.

What a lovely night. The screen and sound was fabulous. Kangaroo and Bunnies grazing on the lawns while walking up to the venue. The Kookaburras joined in to start the movie. A bat went over head. Looking up and seeing the stars while watching a movie was special. Don't forget your blankets and jackets for when the sun goes down. Great atmosphere.

Really fun experience. Bit of a hike to get to the location. Only thing I would recommend is dress /bring warm clothes. I brought a light jacket and a light blanket and it was my biggest regret. I should have packed my oodie. I was distracted from the movie from my discomfort.
