We had booked a dive vacation at Paradise Villas on Little Cayman Island. One day prior to leaving Hurricane Rafael landed as a category 2 causing enough damage to close all 3 dive resorts on the island. At the last minute I called Sunset House on Grand Cayman as our flight to Grand was not canceled. Kim picked up the phone and was gracious, patient and very helpful. Within a few minutes she found an ocean view room on the second floor with a balcony. The dive package we booked included free breakfast, free shuttle to and from the airport as well as two boat dives. I had been to Sunset House in the 1990s and knew about the shore diving on their house reef. |Upon arrival in Grand Cayman, I called Sunset House and they sent a shuttle to collect us from the airport. Sunset House is only about 10 minutes from the airport. We were greeted at the front desk by Annie where we were presented with our complimentary drink coupon, two very nice metal wine tumblers and two lovey note cards by Cathy Church (world renowned local photographer). We went to our room which had two king size beds, nice size fridge, microwave, coffee maker, plenty of wooden hangers as well as a lovely balcony. |Sunset House has both indoor and outdoor dining. We opted for the outdoor dining each evening. The restaurant was well staffed, the menu had many options and each night there was a different dinner special. I highly recommend the almond crusted snapper! If you want a dive resort with both shore and boat diving, restaurant on site and a 20 minute walk to George Town, Sunset House fits the bill. You can also request the daily free shuttle down to Smith Cove beach for some snorkeling and R & R. |This level of customer service is hard to come by, we highly recommend Sunset House.
