This is the worst Super 8 I have ever stayed at. I have stayed at the Super 8 in Sault Ste. Marie and in Red Lake, and the service and state of those hotels was exemplary.
My husband and I arrived at the Sudbury Super 8 around 8pm, and while the woman at the front desk was very helpful when we arrived, the state of the room was deplorable. The room smelled like someone had just smoked a cigarette. It was very obvious that the room had not been vacuumed prior to our check in as there were food crumbs and hair covering the floor. The fridge in our room was off when we arrived, and there was mold covering the inside and food residue. The bathroom had not been cleaned properly, there was mold outside and within the shower, and the curtain was covered in mildew. The caulking in the shower was very cracked and very obviously has been so for a long time. The vanity and sink had not been cleaned properly as there were obvious markings left behind from the previous guest. The "continental" breakfast was anything but - the options were limited to cereal, yogurt, and a waffle maker. There were zero gluten free options, dairy alternatives, or decaf coffee, and this was an issue as my husband has several food allergies. He was not able to eat anything for breakfast. The continentel breakfast was a main reason we stayed here, so this was a waste of money. There was also no protein option available, not even a hard boiled egg.
Also, the man working at the front desk was watching videos on his phone very loudly while we were trying to have our coffee. This was so disrespectful!
Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.
We will be reporting this location to the Sudbury District Health Unit. The amount of mold is entirely unacceptable. Start actually caring about the health and safety of your guests. This service is inexcusable for the price of the rooms. Do better.
