10 Foods to Eat in Aruba and Where to Try Them - AFAR

"At Superfoods Plaza there’s a permanent demo kiosk where you can watch stroopwafels being made and sample them piping hot—the syrup is at its best gooey and melty." - Susan Campbell

"While there’s nothing particularly charming about this Target-esque emporium in Noord, it’s the best place to go for foodie goods. Only-on-Aruba delights include Hot Delight sauces (all-natural flavor enhancers handcrafted on the island) and coecoei liquor (a centuries-old spirit made from agave), while Dutch specialties range from cheese (Edam, Gouda) to chocolate (Verkade, Droste). If you get nothing else, try the stroopwafels , which feature a caramel, syrup-like filling sandwiched between thin-baked dough. Super Food’s café, Jack’s, offers excellent coffee and Dutch dishes throughout the day."

I love fruits and go here a few times to buy the food and fruits. This place has a lot of food selections. Check out was easy with US dollars but you do get florin back as change.

Amazing selection of international (including lots of Dutch products.) We found so many yummy meats and cheeses that are cut in store that we canceled a dinner reservation in favor of the goodies we bought at Super Food!

Might be a tourist spots, but it’s a giant grocery store that is just packed with a plethora of various food items not commonly seen in the United States. Bought some Dutch cheese ( best cheese in the world in my humble opinion) to bring home, and of course don’t miss speculaas cookies! I can’t stress these cookies enough as they are an excellent compliment to your morning coffee instead of that donut. See the photos. Prices you see are in Aruban florins. Do the conversion and it’s been around $1 equals €1.79 florins. You don’t need to use the countries money as they gladly take dollars.

Wanted to shout out the bakery department for helping make my daughter's BEAUTIFUL sweet 16 cake. We were visiting from the states to celebrate her special day. Through emails, they were able to capture her cake perfectly..and it was delicious! Thank you so much for making her day even better!! Oh and definitely get the chicken salad - yummm!

A very nice place to shop, especially if you're a tourist. They have prices on almost everything in AFL and USD. A lot of authentic Aruban, Dutch, South American, etc. foods. The only thing is that it is crowded usually, but that isn't their fault, that means they're making good business! 😃

Great bakery and various grocery items. Didn’t give them 5 stars because of the cashiers. They always seem to wake up on the wrong side of the bed. This morning I went to checkout and I tried to hand the cashier my SuperFood card. I didn’t hear her the first time, but I tried to scan it and she responded, “I ALREADY DID IT.” Why are the cashiers scanning with their own card to get points/discounts instead of giving customers the opportunity to use their own? She had scanned her card before I even approached the cashier. Not to mention their grumpy attitudes. This happens every single visit. I tried to smile at the cashier, but all she did was give me nasty looks. I get that it’s their norm to tourists, particularly U.S. tourists, but saying “good morning” or “thank you” goes a long way. And also, the boys (baggers) just stand around and not even help bag. As a business owner, I wouldn’t allow employees to get paid for doing nothing. It’s probably the culture, but don’t just stare at me while you’re standing there.

Pretty big supermarket but limited variety. You need a quarter to get the cart. The boys pack your bags, which is really convenient.

Do not stick to American brands! The mango chicken salad from the deli on a croissant from the bakery is a fantastic lunch! Staff are so sweet and helpful.
