Super Foodtown of Washington Heights

I agree with the other review that the employees who work there are generally really nice and helpful. However, I have consistently run into an issue with pricing for the stickers on the shelves are lower then what’s wrong up at the cash register and the discounts are not as generous. They’ve always corrected specific instances for me, but only after the inconvenience of returning to the store. After so many times over the years, it’s hard not to conclude that it’s deliberate practice and somebody managing the store is making the decision to scam the residents of Washington Heights.

This really isn’t a neighborhood bar. It’s kind of a tourist bar because they have happy hour specials but when I showed up the bartender didn’t see speak English and wasn’t aware of the happy hour special of a shot and a beer for $15. Also, he charged me the credit card transaction via $.59 when I used cash to pay the bill.

Nice supermarket! Very clean, enough staff & good variety of food. Usually go to buy some prepared food. It's fine not to expensive. Not sure if it's prepared there, in house I mean. Check "best used by" dates on weekends. Will visit again!

The staff is very friendly, nice, and courteous. The staff is very helpful when looking for products. This store is very clean and organized. My favorite Supermarket!!!

Recommend shopping somewhere else. Produce is usually half spoiled, shelf stock is typically low, Price markdowns and deals often not put into the system or not honored, prices are absurdly high on most items. Cashier staff are wonderful. Wish I could support this employee owned co-op more but the return isn’t worth it. I go to one of the other five supermarkets within a five minute walk. THEY SHUT THE LIGHTS OFF 15 mins before the store actually closes, in order to RUSH you out of the store. But this has the opposite affect, because now I'm moving SLOWER because I can't see the products front of me. I had to use my phone light to see what I was buying. Not only is this HORRIBLE customer service, it's SAFETY HAZARD to turn off the lights so your customers cannot see. Especially if you are visually impaired or if there is a wet spot or something in the aisle.

I’ve bought multiple items from this store that have been expired. While they do accept returns, it’s inconceivable to me that I can’t even trust a grocery store to sell non-expired food. Go somewhere else.
