Nice rooms, ours had most you could wish for but was very cozy and lacked a bit of (storage) space. Although it was great for the price we paid. The staff is very friendly and is glad to help you get around the city. The proximity of a metro station makes the hotel very accessible, although it is in a bit of a sketchy neighbourhood (we never felt unsafe though).

We stayed with three kids (2 under 2 years old) and were very happy with the accommodation. First, we have a twin buggy so doors and elevators can be challenging. At Superbude, fits perfectly. The service from all the staff at the reception was high class, more honest effort than you’d experience at any 5-Star residence. We felt welcome and not troublesome at all. Out room on the fifth floor was easy accessible, bonus points for having a view in the tracks so the kids could watch the trains and we had all the time to unpack and prepare. Hiding places given as well, everyone had a great time. Breakfast are and food itself are superb, options for everyone and people with similar mindsets make it very enjoyable. Kudos to everyone at Superbude, if there were a lifetime-membership, we’d probably buy it.

A mixed review for this hostel/hotel - this is where the issue arises for me. It needs to decide which it is and then price and deliver accordingly. Good points - great staff, very welcoming, slight issue with the room and sorted quickly. The room was very clean. Points to consider when staying - no air conditioning and very noisy next to a railway and main road so you can't have the windows open without lots of noise. A ceiling fan provided some comfort from the heat, but not enough so the room was stifling. There are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, so I couldn't make a drink in the morning. Tiny crispy towels. The location of the place is close to a train station, but it felt quite unsafe to walk around in the early evening with the children. For nearly €150 for a night stay, I expected more. It needs to either be cheaper and then you accept the hostel vibe or deliver more for the price.

Very gut service and relaxed atmosphere like most of the international hostels. The entrance, outside aera and also reception aera are decorated with soul and heart. The hotel have also a nice room for the brunch, and also for the free stay in the afternoon or evening for their guests. It has also a cinema and movies are played for some evenings. The empoyee are friendly. They all make guests feel like at home. You can also rent bicycles and long boards here. It's not a luxury place but a lovely place to be relaxed. Will come here agian for next time.

There are good and bad things about this hotel. The good thing is that the rooms are nice and very basic. They look like they are newly renovated. The bad is at check in. They ask for email and it is mandatory by German law. This is dishonest and there is no such law. They only want email for their marketing. So I gave them a random email that is not mine. The EU has a privacy law called GDPR and no one is required to give their email address if they choose not to. Germany is a member of the EU and required to follow. The location is a bit inconvenient and far from the station and city centre. Good luck trying to get my real email from me, you will not succeed. German police will ignore you. Pathetic response from business. The receptionist demanded I give them an email and refused to check me in if I did not give it.

Excellent hotel / hostel! Friendly and helpful staff. Well designed rooms. Free laundry with detergent provided. They let me lock up bike in a locked room (staff keeps key behind counter). Excellent breakfast buffet with self serve waffle making stations. Fridge in common area for shared use. The only downside I found is the location. It’s not as central as their St Pauli location and I found the late night walk between Berliner Tor station and the hostel a bit sketchy because it’s deserted saved for some unsavory characters at the station

We stayed for 2 nights and the place was very cool and funky. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The common areas were nice and relaxing and use of the communal kitchen and laundry was great. The free bread rolls and peanut butter were a nice afternoon snack while waiting for the washing to be done! It was quite far from the main attractions in Hamburg - about 30min walk, but only a 3min walk to the train. We didn't have breakfast here as we thought €14 per person was a bit expensive.

Yelp
Need a place to stay in Hamburg? Look no further. Decent rates for clean, central-ish rooms and a really styly lobby/kitchen. The employees are super-friendly and you run into travelers like yourself. You'll end up drinking here one night just because. Stumbled into some live comedy show filmed there once a month you have to know German but it was surprisingly good (Germans and comedy, you know). I love Superbude!

Yelp
This was one of our many stops on our trip through Europe. The super buud is a budget hotel that's super easy to get to. The concept is cute and the rooms are decorated with various touches that you can also buy. Our room had some cute skateboard designed shelves in it. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, the beds were comfortable and it hit our price point. What more can you ask?

Yelp
Fantastic Hotel in Hamburg's east. From the the metro station Berliner Tor it's a five minute walk. The hotel is stylish but not over the top. It has a great and friendly atmosphere were you'll feel at home immediately. The rooms are simple but colorful, choose from a dozend colors during check-in. They are quiet because of the thick walls and doors but get a little warm in the summer due to the lack of a/c. Breakfast (7 EUR) is also great, you'll get a great choice, good coffee and the buffet is refilled constantly. Two computers provide free internet access, free WiFi is available, too. They also rent bikes to their guests (4 EUR a day) which is a good choice as Hamburg has many bikeways throughout the city. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Yelp
For a long-weekend in Hamburg this is a perfect place to stay if you don´t need a place to hang out, but to sleep and shower. We were here in the beginning of December. The rest of my family stayed at a fancy hotel about 20 minutes walk from us, but we decided to save some money and stay at Superbude. Our room was small but tidy, nice and clean. Props for the smart-tv who had both Spotify and youtube available. The beds were - okay - but a bit hard, but nothing you can´t handle for a weekend. We had a window towards the road but that was weirdly enough (I´m a really light sleeper) not a problem. One of the disappointments was that we got one of the grey colored rooms, and looking at the pictures on the website I was a bit disappointed. We did not try the breakfast but it looked totally okay, maybe a bit boring. The staff was really helpful and spoke perfectly English.

Yelp
After a thorough investigation online I landed on the Superbude in St. Georg for my five nites in Hamburg, & it really was exceptional. It's an easy walk to downtown & the Alster See, an easy train to everything else, & the staff are all super chill & friendly. When the jet lag came crashing down I spent a very comfortable ten hours in bed during the daytime, which I think says a lot about the place. One nite I started ordering beers from the desk & talking to the guy working there, & it turned into exactly the rambling intellectual deep-dive about culture & world politics that I'd most dearly hoped to have with someone while I was in Europe. By way of bonus material, there was a Billy Bass on the wall in my bathroom that sang "I Will Survive". You can't write this stuff, for real. :-] CR

Yelp
This is a pretty good place to stay. The location hurts it considerably, and it is HOT AS *$%^ in the rooms. Aside from this, you will find that it is very clean and well appointed. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They've really put together a nice place here. Locationwise, it is not that bad. It is in a safe place, but it is a bit far from any neighborhood that one would be going to Hamburg to visit. It is in sort of an industrial-office area and just far enough from the subway to make it an uneasy walk late night. The rooms are so incredibly hot/stuffy because of no AC and no ventilation. You can open a window, but I was on the first floor and a bit uneasy leaving the window open at night. But I will say that unless you're a party animal and just have to be in the middle of St Pauli or Schanzenstrasse, then you can't lose here.

Yelp
The other reviewers are right: this place is a fantastic value and a lot of fun! True, there's no a/c and you have to walk about five minutes to get to the metro (yes, the station is there -- but you won't see the tracks until you've walked all the way through the station area). And when we stayed there, the elevator was broken. But it was still well worth it. The rooms are very quiet and very quirky. In fact the whole place is downright silly. Who else could use sparkling-new toilet plungers for decor? The small lounge has a couple of computer terminals, a great selection of books to peruse, and even a small selection of drinks alcoholic or non. Excellent coffee and snacks from the vending machines in the lobby, too. Superbude ist wunderbar! :)
