Superette - Swain’s Lane

I recently visited Superette on Swain’s Lane and loved it. The coffee - the oat flat white is unreal, and the sandwiches on offer are seriously one of the best in London. They also have a great selection of high-quality groceries.

Was just sold a mouldy scotch egg that was FOUR days past its EAT BY date. This is completely unacceptable and a clear violation of basic food safety standards (how come did no one check the dates in over four days?). Unfortunately I noticed the mould and the ‘eat by’ date only after eating about half of the egg, so now I am worried I will have food poisoning… The staff was apologetic and assured me that it just a one off, but as we looked at the dates on the other products we found another one that also had a ‘22.05’ eat by date. Absolutely love this place! Fresh vibes and a great atmosphere (the place is really cute)! But what really stood out was the customer service. Everyone was super friendly, helpful and made sure I had a great experience. Definitely coming back!,

Really nice spot with a great selection of unique wines and coffees. They’ve got some interesting products you don’t see everywhere, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Worth checking out if you’re in the area.

I don’t leave bad reviews often, however our experience here was very unpleasant. We ordered two coffees, and they arrived with chunks of milk floating around in them. When we pointed this out, we were informed all normal milk has chunks and asked are we sure we’d want new ones. When we said yes, the barista was truly unpleasant and almost aggressive in making the new coffees, with things being poured so forcefully towards us they were spilling out onto the counter. No apology was offered and we were made to feel very uncomfortable.

Simply awful service. Two iced americanos which were served with milk that had gone off. The milk had chunks of it floating on the top of the drinks. The staff told us that’s just how normal milk is, it just has chunks in it. We asked if there is anyway that could make them again. They testily agreed and then proceeded to angrily and borderline aggressively remake the drinks. So if you’re looking for a coffee with either bad milk or service with an eye roll making you feel wholly uncomfortable, come here for coffee.

Really enjoyed my visit this Sunday! The staff was super nice, engaging, and the matcha they made were 🥰 chefs kiss 🥰!! Perfect place to hang out before or after a walk at the heath! 💖

Loved our drinks and the food looked amazing. Tried my first scotch egg. We had a pastry too, but it all looked so good we wanted to come back and get a sandwich to take away...
