It was my first time visiting Gray Area, and I have to say, the place is fantastic and beautifully designed. The staff inside were kind and professional, making it an enjoyable experience overall. However, I had an issue at the entrance that I’d like to share as feedback.
I presented my NYC ID card, not realizing it wasn’t acceptable, as I’ve used it at other places without any problems. The security staff were quite aggressive about it and made me wait outside in the cold, wet weather while I searched for another ID. As someone new to the venue, I felt this could have been handled with more kindness and understanding.
After finally finding a different ID and coming back in (around 15 minutes later), they were told I’d need to pay an additional $21.50, despite explaining that I’d been waiting outside the whole time. Rather than listening to me, the staff at the entrance simply yelled, “Cash or card!” which felt unnecessarily harsh.
Once I got inside, though, everything was amazing. The team inside was professional and welcoming, and I genuinely enjoyed my time. I hope my feedback about the entrance experience will be considered, as a bit more kindness and communication would make a huge difference, especially for first-time visitors. Thank you!
