There is quite a lot of things for tourists to be able to buy that they’re used to having at home. So that was good. We were able to find some things and we were trying to find fruits of vegetables, but they were not of the best quality and they were super overpriced. I don’t understand how locals can afford to shop in the supermarket because it’s pretty expensive here. We got a few things. You can bring your own bags. Otherwise they charge you a small fee for plastic bags. There’s a small liquor section with some beer and some wine and champagne and things like that. I was looking for wine coolers, and I didn’t see them at all, which I was surprised at. They have a guard that sits above everyone in the parking lot. You may not notice it at first but when you park, when you look up , there he is.

Google
By far the best acai place. It’s cheap, but great quantity and quality. Too good for what you pay! Probably the best Acai place I’ve been to. Sure, there may be other places that has better quality acai, but they’d also cost 3 times more. I doubt that the quality is 3 times better. $4.49 for two scoops of acai with tons of berries and other fruits. Or 6.99 for a big bowl with 4 scoops of açaí! You can’t beat that.. I wouldn’t go anywhere but here for açaí.

Came in as a tourist just wanting some basic snacks and water at non-tourist prices. Definitely came through. A gallon jug of water was just more than a buck. Other things I bought were comparable or better priced than what I'm used to on mainland USA. Deli inside offers a lot of choice too.

Google
The hot lunch time buffet is delicious to save money when you are on vacation. Be careful though. A big roach was crawling inside of the glass by the food. I told the lady working and she already knew. She says it happens all the time. 🫠

Google
This is the Whole Foods of PR. Clean , fresh, the prepared food line can stretch very far during breakfast and lunch because it’s cheap AND good. The liquor selection is vast and they have sushi and a bakery. And open 24 hours for people like me.

Victor Jaramillo

Google
Everyone is so helpful, the food court has delicious breakfast and lunch portions. Basically went there everyday for my everyday essentials and majority of the staff is bilingual. Go to place for everything and it’s really 24 hours!!

Google
I love this store! It’s amazing! Visiting from the states, I find this chain clean and up to par with meeting expectations. The hot food line is to die for! Food plates last all day! Definitely meets my shopping needs.

Google
They're plate lunches have great flavor but the meat was extremely dry. The staff are very rude in both the deli and register except the young guy that rung us up at the deli. We were skipped over twice while in line trying to order food. The older gentleman at the register was worse. He refused to take our money from our hands and off course refused to hand to us but did it for the people both before and after us. Also he told us to figure out getting our items bagged which wasn't a huge problem but bagged other customers items. What makes matters worse is the way he didn't even want to touch our groceries to scan them.

Yelp
Experienced the power outage that disrupted NYE 2024 while staying in Miramar. This supermarket was operating at full potential in both employees and food services which handled the masses impacted by the entire island blackout. The employees did an incredible job given the volume of customers and circumstances. Fortunately, I had a generator so my needs were superficial (flowers and grapes). I found both items, in mint conditions. Thank you

Yelp
24/7 is all I have to say! I miss having grocery stores that are open 24/7 in the United States so seeing one here in Puerto Rico got me somewhat excited to be able to shop late night. There is plenty of parking at this store and it is in a nice location as most of Puerto Rico that I have been to and seen thus far is nice and also filled with kind, happy, and helpful people. This store is great and they have everything you could ever want and need to cook with and/or eat. I was pleasantly surprised at all of the vegan, vegetarian, and plant based options they have here. The only downside to this place is most of the imported items from the United States are two to three times higher which tbh isn't a bad thing because as we all know they allow way to many bad ingredients into their processed foods so the food here is much better in most regards. Great store, great location, great employees :)

Yelp
A little pricey but the neighborhood supermarket. We got a lot of stuff no meat but it was $400 definitely not worth the price but from NYC to PR it's a difference.
google avatar

Yelp
Conveniently open 24x7. The prices are ridiculously high for many items. The store is clean and well stocked.
google avatar

Yelp
Good grocery store for quick items. Clean and very well run! Full of both tourists and locals making very busy. Recommend for travelers staying in San Juan for more than a day or in need of "oh, I forgot to bring...."

Yelp
Close to hotels prices are good they have beer and wine selection.. all types of food you can order also.. be careful where the line at the açaí starts I stood behind a guy for 15 minutes thinking there was no one else behind when I looked around..as I got to the front there was a girl saying the line started this other way which I could have sworn she came after me .. but hey I'm a tourist they can say whatever .. need less to say I left and got something else .. my bad

Yelp
My first meal in Puerto Rico came from a super market with a café that did not disappoint!!! This place has so many options from beef, chicken, salmon, pizza, spaghetti, and more. I knew the food was going to be good when the line was long and wrapped. I don't speak Spanish and the menu was in Spanish so I very shy and awkwardly pointed at food like a toddler saying "rice" and "chicken" and the staff Whipped it up lol I'm happy I came here because I told myself "I'm not going to eat all of this!" And after the first bite I changed my mind haha. I recommend coming here. It is 24 hours.

Yelp
Some products are old, no actual customers service and the so called managers are rude . It can be improved by better customer service and clean the store Please don't sell left overs food as usually is BAD

Yelp

Yelp
Very nice grocery store. Went in to get a few items for my Airbnb. Only disappointing thing was the fruit selection. Ended up having to go elsewhere for fruit. Plethora of beer, wine and liquor selection. Superb vegan options. Very cleanly. I was told their hot/cold foods are amazing at lunch time though I didn't get to stop in. Bags cost 10cent a piece so bring your own to be eco friendly.

Yelp
Great supermarket, lots of groceries selections and staff super friendly , really convenient close to several hotels

Yelp
10/2/23: Very large and clean supermarket. Plenty of variety and shelves were well stocked. The produce and meat section looked good. We stopped by the pharmacy items and found exactly what we needed. There was plenty of parking available.
google avatar

Yelp
It's a super market with a variety of the Latinx foods at decent prices. This was my go to super market grocery store. I bought Medalla here and snacks to try or bring home.
google avatar

Yelp
Grabbing some oatmeal, oat milk and other grocery items too. It's open 24/7, a nice plus. Since many of the grocery stores close at 8PM and it will take a while to get out of old San Juan. It's packed even at night here. $0.10 a bag here. No breakfast sausage for my FIL. Oat milk is only in the fridge. Limited corn chips and salsa too. The Tajin snack sauce looks interesting, since I like the dry seasoning on veggies. $42.16 for our small hula tonight.

Yelp
We stopped by to pick up a few items before our cruise. The store was well stocked and had a great selection of wine. I was able to pick up some toiletries and Clorox wipes. They also had lots of gran and go food item which is a plus. The cashier was friendly and helpful.

Yelp
This is an excellent grocery store just like something you would find on the mainland United States. The prices were more expensive but that is to be expected on an island. Very clean and bright and nice.

Rifalda L.

Yelp
Please take note that you are selling "plastic spoons" in Dallas Tx, with the wrong name translated into Spanish language. it wouldn't be a problem if the word that you wrote refers to an insect :( the write name es: "Cucharas de Plastico" you write on the plastic bag to sell the plastic spoons: "Cucarachas plasticas" which refers to: "plastic cockroaches" terrible translation mistake! I have a picture of the product's plastic bag. :(
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely amazing supermarket with plenty of kosher products from the mainland, which is a total surprise! We found so much variety of kosher items we didn't need to order from the local kosher delivery store.. pita bread, humus, salmon, deli pickles, etc.. anything but kosher meat or dairy - you will find here! Very pleased! Staff is very attentive, polite , and nice!

Yelp
Ordered online before 2pm. Website says delivery between 7pm - 10pm. Just before 7pm email says order is completed. Hoped for an estimated delivery time...nope. Somehow my order wasn't delivered until after 10:30. (Maybe the delivery service is very popular?) It's about 8km (4 mi) from here to the store. Not sure why it took more than 3.5 hours to get the order here. Actual delivery and delivery driver were fine. One item I was charged for is missing from the order. Also, I was supposed to get an email saying the order was out for delivery. That never happened and the website never updated to show it either. So, not very useful for a customer trying to track the order. If I were going to be here long enough to need more groceries, I'd choose pickup and just get a taxi or Uber there and back. Overall experience: Meh. Edit to add: I looked up how to report a missing item and was advised to 'call immediately'. When I called the automated system said there was no one to take the call because their hours end at 10pm. I left a message. We'll see if I get a refund!

Yelp
We have stayed at Air BnB's several times near this store. The lot is always full because they are the best in the area. Full liquor and wine shop upstairs and everything you'd want in a grocery on the main level.

Dick H.

Yelp
Everything you need it he , great boars head cold cut and beer and wine liquor and eat in restaurants and take out
google avatar

Chris T.

Yelp
Stopped in here to get some odds and ends because of the rain. This store is busy to say it lightly. They have beer, wine, liquor, fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh meat, frozen food, deli, and option to get a hot plate (be patient because the line is loonnggg but it moves fast). Not only did o buy some odds/ends I purchased the shrimp Alfredo. That made it worth the wait. It was so good. My mouth waters just thinking about it. The prices are just as pricey in the states but I will say you get more options. Cashier was blahhh but I guess no different then if I was at home.
google avatar

Joani O.

Yelp
My favorite grocery store in San Juan. Big, reasonable prices, and they have everything. We came here to stock up the kitchen in our condo. It's 24/7 in a convenient location. They charge for bags like in Chicago.

Frank P.

Yelp
Everything you need it's a supermarket including wine beer etc. Hot food 24 7 Now have self checkout which makes shopping quicker.
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
One of our favorite past-times, my wife's and mine, is to visit grocery stores when we're in a new country, or even a new city - so much fun checking out what's available that's not seen at home, and/or what the prices are. So we did that when we were in San Juan before our cruise back in March. This place is a 24-hour operation, fairly big, and offered pretty much everything under the sun, including some ready-made food choices. Believe me: if they had something we liked, we might have considered taking something back to our hotel room across the street instead of eating out - but alas, they didn't. Usually, 24-hour grocery stores have high prices and limited selection, but Super Max is the exception on both counts. Apparently, this is where locals shop and hang out too!

Yelp
Coming from Atlanta and NYC for last 15 years I think I have a high standard for grocery stores. These folks are doing it right! How can you not feel safe with a security guard TOWER in the parking lot!? Strict COVID protocols being followed and enforced by several security guys at the front doors. Once you're in just to the right a line forms for the hot food which changes throughout the day. I went in at 5-530am, and that line for hot plates was about 10-12 ppl deep. Some going to work and some coming from partying. The store has every you will need as a Double Tree guest, don't even pack everything just come here to get what you need.
google avatar

Joseph B.

Yelp
Convenience. This particular Supermax is located directly across from the Doubletree where I was staying. It is a full grocery store with a deli counter and a sandwich counter featuring Boarshead meats. There are tables and chairs located inside to "eat-in" if you prefer. It is large and well stocked. they even sell wine, liquor and beer. They seem to have everything. TIP: bring your own bag or they will charge you for plastic...

Craig B.

Yelp
Decent selection with reasonable prices, but the lines were RIDICULOUSLY long. I'm talking "I considered shoplifting because the jail sentence would be shorter than this line" long.
google avatar

Blanca G.

Yelp
If you are staying in the Old San Juan this is the super market to go. Well, it is the only place you can go but still. Great selection of fruit, vegetables and prepared food. Fresh bread thru the day and a nice selection of beer, wine and rum. Good for people staying at Air B&B's or hotels in the area. Ah, very clean!
google avatar

Arnold R.

Yelp
they vastly overcharge for produce. most of the fruit and veg is on the verge of rotting if not put onto the shelves mouldy. we've had weevil and moth infestations caused by their pasta products and cat food (look for powder inside the boxes) so be weary of that..and today we had moths in a ramen cup. makes my skin crawl. about time they put some of their profits into proper food storage. theres no way they can be up to standard. nasty products reported to the manufacturer and after todays incident well be looking to inform the health inspectors. really nasty.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
It's a supermarket. A big supermarket. The only notable difference is the upstairs area that serves pizza and a few fast foods. Cashiers are courteous and quick. These are the fastest moving employees I have seen in Puerto Rico.
google avatar

Adjanie T.

Yelp
Great supermarket! It's 24 hours!!! BUT second floor it's not 24 hours !! People are friendly and they actually care about your needs. They have everything you need for you stay here in PR. 1- they are 24 hours 2- they have a huge selection of wine and beers. It's the only supermarket with a nice selection of craft beers. 3- excellent selection if cheeses 4- they don't have a lot of organic food bit they have enough. I don't actually buy organic food here. If I want organic food I go to freshmarket, it's like 4 blocks away. 5- if you like cookies you can buy cameo. Nabisco , only make cameo cookies for Puerto Rico , they don't sell those cookies anywhere. 6- you can buy fresh sushi here !!! They have a chef only for that!!!! . Try the chef special, very good. 7- frozen food are ok - but if you are in PR is better to buy everything fresh ! Remember it's a island ! Everything is fresh !!! 8- they have a second floor only for wines!! BUT IT'S NOT 24 HOURS !! 9- they have food for lunch , tables so you can sit and eat. 10- they have the essentials for personal care, nothing fancy though. I love this supermarket! It's my favorite! If you are near just come and see by yourself!!
google avatar

TeraDrew J.

Yelp
So no one in this location can help you with any questions is you don't speak Spanish. Fruit was fresh store a bit unclean. They barely even bag your Grocery
google avatar

Kim B.

Yelp
This grocery store saved my life! When I needed cash, it was there. When I needed bug spray to fend off the 100000000 blood-thirsty mosquitoes, it was there. When I needed a late night drink, it was there. When I passed out from a night of partying, it was there to resuscitate me. Ok so the last comment may be a tiiiiiny embellishment. ;) How many times are you on vacation and realize you have forgotten something? Sure your hotel has some items, but they are typically not the brand you like to use. Having this grocery nearby was a lifesaver. It made me wish I had this type of convenience on every trip I take.
google avatar

Vijay R.

Yelp
SuperMax is a great 24 hour supermarket with all selection you need as a local or tourist. It is very crowded because a lot of people come here for the cheaper prices from around the area. They also have cold and hot food items, but we didn't try those.
google avatar

Tonya B.

Yelp
We stopped here to purchase some items we wouldn't normally get in California. We found small 8oz packs of different types of Puerto Rican coffees for $2.99, small cans of Goya juices, and some dinner from the deli to take back to our hotel room. It was fun pointing out the food we wanted as the worker only spoke Spanish.
google avatar

Brandy W.

Yelp
Another Doubletree person here. It's literally feet away. Yes, a busy road to cross, but people are generally nice. I was pleased with everything for the most part... except two things. I really wanted Mallorca sweet rolls and they didn't have them. At least not when we stayed for 4 days. And the second thing... one night we were tired and just wanted to head over and grab some of the delicious deli fare and they had it all boxed up in individual boxes from what was left from lunch it looked like. We couldn't pick and choose and the meats looked dry and old. So we had to settle on cold salads and slices of pizza. We went there for lunch once and ordered empanadas, a custom sandwich and an already prepared sandwich. It was literally less than $7. What a steal! The grocery store itself is huge and offers all the things you could want as this is a locals grocery store. We bought some candies as souvenirs to share back at home for 25% of the cost you would pay at the airport or gift shops. Coffee is much cheaper as well. All in all, we were pleased with the selection and were so happy to have it so locally to our hotel!
google avatar

Tracie P.

Yelp
Pretty standard grocery store. Signage was in English, employees all spoke English and the store was easy to navigate. Bring reusable shopping bags or be prepared to pay for plastic bags - though only $0.10 each so not a terribly big deal.
google avatar

John Paul F.

Yelp
This is a truly great grocery store. It's perfectly clean and well maintained and you can buy anything you could want while you're at a hotel or at an Air BnB. Their produce and deli stuff is a bit expensive, but really no more than any non-discount grocery store in the US or Canada. More importantly, we ate half our meals for a week from this place because it was really good quality. The steak, produce, and prepared foods were all excellent. They sell a very decent selection of alcohol, 24/7, from the cheap stuff to local craft beer, yet there are zero drunks hanging around. That's thanks in part to the security guard stationed in an elevated watchtower in the parking lot.
google avatar

Mailoha A.

Yelp
I love me some SuperMax. They always have everything I am looking for grocery-wise. They also have awesome food. In the AM they have super delicious arina de maiz. They even have acai bowls. Their cuban sandwiches aren't so great but they have a ton of other options. Their hours and location are great as well.

Yelp
Traveling and forgot a tooth brush? Staying in a hotel suite with a kitchen and want to buy some eggs, bacon and fruit to cook breakfast? Want to buy a 6pack of medalla beer to store in your hotel mini fridge for lounging poolside later in the afternoon? This is the answer to your desires! I found SuperMax to be a huge blessing on our trip. My first day in Puerto Rico, I was driving aimlessly around Puerto Rico waiting for my travel companions to arrive, and I stopped into this 24 hour grocery store. I was able to stock up on drinks, water and snacks for the apartment we were staying at. We ended up coming back here again to make a second run for snacks during our 1 week stay in Puerto Rico. People here are all very friendly and I found the customer service to be fantastic. Prices are pretty average for a grocery store. The inside decor made me feel like I was inside a Walmart or CostPlus. I definitely appreciated SuperMax and would recommend it for all of your last minute travel needs!
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
Since we were staying right across the street at the Doubletree by Hilton hotel, we stopped in SuperMax del Diego countless times during our stay and purchased items such as: Breakfast: coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt Drinks: water, countless coconut waters (seriously check out their selection!) orange juice, diet cranberry juice Snacks: gummy bears, a birthday cake, chips (Munchies Mofongo Mix is SO good! Why don't they have that in the States?!) Vacation needs: tanning oil, aloe gel, bug spray, postage stamps, hair dye (go on vacation with 3 other girls and one of them is bound to want to "switch things up") Essentials: Medalla, Medalla Light, Malibu, DonQ, Bacardi Superior, Bacardi Gold, Bacardi 151 Needless to say, this 24-hour supermarket made things SUPER convenient...
google avatar

Kathleen B.

Yelp
So close to our airbnb and so convenient. Everything we needed (plus coffee in the morning with some eggs cooked for me!). Ready and hot meals available is a real plus.
google avatar

Tashnuva E.

Yelp
Pretty great grocery store in the area, and I LOVE that it's 24 hours and has a parking lot. Prices are pretty standard, but it's great that this place has literally everything you might be looking for. We rented an apartment during our vacation and made this our go-to spot for groceries as well as vacation necessities.
google avatar

Leana N.

Yelp
Love love love their shuttle service to and from locations as long as you spend 50. We spent 15 on a cab drive there which was ridiculous. If you take a cab at all at PR,have them turn on the meter. Anyways, back to super max. Beer and alcohol was WAY more economical then the liquor stores in the condado area. We also enjoyed some of the food court options like rice and meat and sushi. It was very good. I ordered the tres leches in a cup and that was something I recommend passing on. It was blended so it was more like bread pudding. The coffee we ordered was delicious and way more economical then the coffee we ordered at our Starbucks at the Conrad. Staff was nice and our shuttle driver saved us 15 dollars with another cab.

Yelp
AWESOME 24 hour grocery store with a parking lot that has actual security guards patrolling. Great selection of water, food, liquor (not kept in locked cabinets!) and other necessities. This was super convenient when I stayed in a nearby apartment. I have to point out how great the people working at the deli counter are (all speak English). They're a bit slow but that's because sandwiches/wraps are all made fresh. The workers take such meticulous care in making the food that they walk out and grab missing ingredients from the store shelves. Plus the espresso is delicious and cheap (99 cents)!

Steph L.

Yelp
After a few days in Puerto Rico, we felt deprived of veggies. I love plantains, but I'm sorry people. they're not as nutritious as other leafy veggies! SuperMax comes to the rescue. Big, well stocked produce section. The papaya we had was very fresh, almost un-supermarket tasting. I recommend looking at where the items are from if you're price-conscious as items shipped from the mainland U.S. and imported are super expensive. For example, a bag of Fresh Express salad lettuce that normally cost $3 at home is almost $8 there, but a big box of salad lettuce of the same kind but from Puerto Rico is also just $8. We opted for the big box of lettuce and after that started paying more attention to where the food came from and bought local stuff when we could to save money.
google avatar

Shelley M.

Yelp
Large supermarket, good selection and open 24 hours. All the typical food stuffs, wine, hard alcohol, a decent bakery section etc. Prices average, doesn't seem like any great deals but not overpriced. But the best part is their prepared food section! This section is awesome. A hot foods section of different dishes to make up a meat and sides type take-out dish (or eat in at a group of cafeteria style tables)- things like roast chicken, beef stew, rice, beans, fish, etc. Tasty, cheap (nearly every meal combo under $6-7) and large servings. Better quality than a number of the "good" restaurants around it. There is also a selection of refrigerated meals and sides to re-heat at home like pasta with prosciutto, chicken cannolis, ravioli, meatloaf, etc. Also tasty. A sushi chef was making sushi to-go but I didn't try any. Throw in a bottle of wine and some dessert from the bakery and you can get a nice dinner for 2 for under $20.
