Sur Hotel Malaga

The hotel is quite centrally located and near tourist spots. Everywhere is walkable.. its also next to a taxi stand and just in front of a very good ice cream shop. It is difficult to gauge how big this hotel is because the building is connected to other hotels or businesses. But for a two star hotel, it does pack a punch. There is a lift or stairs ro go up, the reception is 24 hours, they communicate well on booking.com, the double room we srayed in is nicely decorated, looks modwrn and very clean. The beddings were very comfortable, we had a good 2 nights sleep here. The room is large and so is the bathroom. It has a bidet as well. Theres a hair dryer a d soap and shampoo provided. I was warned about the noise from the street but none heard during our stay. They let us leave our bags after checkout so we can go around the city. Afterwards, they let us stay in a very good sized reception area where we charged up befire travelling again. Reception was friendly enough. The breakfast is alright, theres plenty and theres fruit... I would have loved a hot breakfast but perhaps too muvh to ask for this type of hotel. I would have loved tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms as well. I would recommend the hotel. It is not your basic hotel, it is more than that

Great hotel in a very good location. Beach, city centre and castle all close. Plenty of food and drink options near by. Room was small but functionable. It was clean and bed comfortable. We had breakfast, this was ok. Pastries cold meats, cereal etc. Enough choice to keep you going. Would stay here again.

We booked this hotel as it is a great location and it has private parking. The first room we were given was an inside room so we asked to change to an outside room. We did prefer this room although it was smaller than the original and smelt musty. Unfortunately I left my husband’s medication in a tablet box in the first room. When I realised I went to reception and the man there was very unhelpful. He said that they checked the room and there was nothing there and it had been reallocated. He said he would ask the customer if he saw them! When we asked a different person the next morning they knew nothing about it. They said they would get the cleaner to check but the medication was not found. It was just a good job that my husband came to no harm missing his medication for two days. I know it was my fault for leaving them in the first room but I felt had the original man on reception been more helpful we might have got them back.

This is about our 6th visit. Excellent location and staff. Ignore the star ratings, clean modern rooms. No yea making facilities but not a problem for us. Breakfast is continental and optional but we tend to eat out and about. Highly recommend!

Things did not bode well for our stay at check in where there was only one staff member behind the desk and a crowd of people looking to check in. The rooms are fairly basic and ours faced the pedestrian street so it was quite noisy at night. I think the shower cubicle was possibly the smallest I'd ever seen. There is A/C & the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was also fine & the location is excellent.

Perfect location, very clean, very nice! People at the reception are also kind! I felt very comfortable!

Stayed just 1 night it's close to the centre not far from the port with restaurants and bars close by the staff were very helpful the room was all we needed it only had a window into an inside courtyard but I'm sure there are rooms with a view I would stay there again

Booked Sur Hotel for two reasons, Location and on site parking. On site parking is notoriously hard to find in Malaga, Hotel Sur offered a secure parking space on the ground floor of the building (steps from reception) for €15 per night booking a space in advance. The room was large, modern and spotlessly clean. It had an interior view so therefore no noise. The corridors are loud though, some late night revellers returning woke us up. We didn't eat at the hotel but breakfast was found at Elite cafe around the corner (great value), also, don't miss the tapas at La Cordobesa, also nearby. Overall Hotel Sur offered good value for money with the parking and location being a real draw. It was expensive for the one night but probably due to the UK school holidays starting and demand for accommodation in Malaga.
