Surf Motel

Wonderful hotel! Stayed here for two week while visiting Canggu. The lobby is super cool, and has a great vibe to it. Good music, good food, lots of younger folks and a very friendly staff. However, there is a night club right behind it, so twice a week (T/Th) there is music blasting until 2am. Not ideal for people who work remotely. The internet is also sub-par.. even for Bali (less than 10mbps). Great for vacationing, but not the best for a digital nomad or for someone who goes to sleep early.

Best place I have ever been to! Amazing vibrations! Best surf spot close to your room. Perfect breakfast, super healthy and tasty! This place is my dream, don't think about making your reservation. And you will come to paradise!

This motel is hands down the best place i ever stayed at in Bali, fantastic location less than a 3-minute walk to la brisa beach club. Very welcoming vibe and a lovely staff, I like to thank them, and especially Dewi who assisted us with everything and made us feel welcomed during our stay. Great value for money and breakfast too! Can’t wait to go back there someday. :)

We stayed 2 nights. Both pools were really nice and probably the best part about the place for us. Room could use a freshen up. They are big though. Drainage for the shower could be a bit better or squeegee to push the water down the drain. Air conditioning worked ok, just needed to hold the remote in the perfect position. Location is ok. We didn’t have to much noise. WiFi worked well enough for us. Price was a bit high for it, I thought. Especially 35k for a sparkling water plus 2.5% card fee.

Modern, industrial interior. Spacious breakfast area / lobby to chill with a small pool. The room is clean and the bed is comfy. Fridge, AC and TV provided. Good water pressure. Friendly staff. Breakfast is tasty and good options. Water refill station at lobby. There's a construction site nearby but it wasn't noisy, didn't bother me at all. Location is near restaurants, shops and Echo Beach (5min walk). Main con would be the shower design, water splashes everywhere when you shower. It would also be nice if they refill the water in the room. Location not near the main Chaweng area if that's what you're after. This place is near Echo Beach, which I thought would be quieter, but it was super busy, especially during sunset.

Rooftop pool and lounge area was under renovation during our stay which they didn’t tell us even though we were in contact before our arrival. So that was disappointing. Staff were very nice and helpful. Room was clean and nice. Our balcony doors had large gaps which let some bugs through. In general it was chill and quiet. There is a large seating area with workspaces and another pool downstairs. They serve food and drinks which are quite good as well. You can rent a motorbike from them but it’s relatively expensive.

Our stay at the Surf Motel was way worse than expected initially. Although everything looked appealing in the pictures, the reality fell short, especially when it came to the room size. Contrary to the spacious appearance in the photos, the rooms were significantly smaller in person. To make matters worse, the hotel's proximity to ongoing construction work meant enduring incessant noise throughout the day and morning, which was far from ideal in the tranquil setting of Bali.||Adding to our disappointment, the quality of the food was underwhelming. Paying approximately 55k for a Caprese salad, we were dismayed to receive a meager portion consisting of half a mozzarella and tomato, accompanied by a small serving of salad and a scant amount of guacamole. The picture speaks volumes. Furthermore, when we ordered a granola bowl, we were astonished by the overwhelming quantity of granola in comparison to the meager amount of yogurt provided. When we attempted to address this issue with the staff and requested additional yogurt, they seemed utterly clueless.||To compound our dissatisfaction, the bathroom was constructed in an extremely flawed manner. Every time we took a shower, the water would flood the entire bathroom floor, leaving us with a perpetually wet and uncomfortable environment.||Overall, our experience at the Surf Motel was highly disappointing, a far cry from what we had initially anticipated. We wholeheartedly advise future tourists to steer clear of this establishment.

Surf Motel in Canggu is the perfect location for access to Echo beach. Fellow surfers, this is the place for you! Not only is the location great but the staff here are excellent - they will go above and beyond to provide amazing service. In addition, the rooms themselves are spacious and clean with big comfortable beds. The hotel lobby and 2 pools (one by the cafe and one on the rooftop) are so beautiful and perfect for chilling out in true Bali fashion. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough if you are looking for a stay in Canggu / a stay with surf access! Not to mention their iced coffee was one of the best i've had in Bali :)
