If you are looking for anything beach related in Hale’iva, you need to come here. Tons of rentals (surfboards, boogie boards, snorkel gear, dive gear, and SUP boards). Their prices are very reasonable and the staff is super friendly. I paid for surf lessons for my son and his girlfriend. Travis was a great teacher. Lessons were supposed to be two hours but were cut short after 40 minutes due to thunder and lightning. Surf N Sea gave us free board rentals for the day and we were able get out and surf later that day. Can’t say enough good things about this place.

Google
Super cute surf shop, they literally have everything! So many souvenirs, surf boards, essentials, flip flops, swim suits, and much more. I got some very cute bracelets there. The staff was so nice too!

Surf N Sea – Legendary Vibes on the North Shore 🌊🏄‍♂️ No Circle Island Tour of Oʻahu is complete without a pit stop at the iconic Surf N Sea in Haleʻiwa. This place isn’t just a surf shop—it’s a North Shore institution, a temple for wave chasers since 1965. Located right on the water where the surf breaks are world-famous, this is where the aloha spirit and surf culture collide. 🤙 Chill Crew, Classic Vibes We rolled in and were greeted by a crew that was cool, laid-back, and super welcoming—total legends. Whether you’re a first-timer, a weekend warrior, or a full-on barrel hunter, the staff and instructors make you feel like part of the tribe. They know their stuff, they live the life, and they’re all about sharing the stoke. 🛍️ Gear, History & Good Vibes The shop itself? Packed with boards, gear, beachwear, and surf memorabilia. It’s not just a place to buy—it’s a place to feel the soul of surfing. Every corner has a story. You’re walking through a piece of North Shore history—this shop has stood the test of time, right across from the break, watching generations of surfers drop into waves and dreams. 🏄‍♀️ Lessons from the Best If you’re new to surfing or want to fine-tune your skills, the instructors here are top-notch. Patient, stoked, and all about getting you up on that board and riding your first wave with confidence. They’re passionate about what they do, and it shows. 🌺 Final Drop-In Surf N Sea is a must-stop spot on your Oʻahu adventure. Whether you’re picking up gear, booking a lesson, or just soaking in the surf culture, this place is the real deal. Local roots, global reputation, and pure aloha. One rule: When in Haleʻiwa, always stop at Surf N Sea. You’ll walk in curious and leave stoked.

I was completely impressed by the staff at Surf N Sea! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Moni, who quickly and clearly answered all my questions—even taught us how to pronounce “Haleiwa” and explained its meaning, which was such a cool touch. While I was talking with Moni, my husband was being helped by Angelina, who not only provided great service but also gave us some awesome local recommendations. Both Moni and Angelina weren’t just representing the Surf N Sea brand—they were genuine advocates for the entire North Shore community. Also, big shoutout for having a public restroom! Those were tough to come by along the road, and it was much appreciated. Here’s our haul from the shop—we’ll happily recommend!.

We booked our teenagers surf lessons facilitated by Surf N Sea thru Viator for 5/27/25 and they received instruction and support from Henry and the kids really liked him and observed he was more instructional than some of the other coaches/guides while they were out on the water. It was a great experience, they really enjoyed it. The shop itself was fascinating, it was really neat to be in an establishment that had been around for over 50yrs, the staff was friendly and welcoming.

Google
Love this place. I was on the north shore earlier this month with a decent size group scuba diving everyday. The store might be near 100 years old but their rental gear isn't. All the rental gear is brand new and the process of picking up tanks to dropping them off was super smooth and efficient. Special tanks to Joey, Lilly, David, Eddie & Hunter y'all made the backend of our trip way easier, thus making our adventures even more epic! <*)))><

Google
This is an awesome surf/water sports shop, but we called in to hire a kayak so we could paddle up the river and hopefully see turtles. It was $30/hour to hire a two person kayak that came with paddles and life jackets. You have to go around the back to get the gear and there’s a little back and forth at the end with paying inside and then clearing your credit card details. The staff were very chatty and helpful and made it a very easy exercise all round. From the beach, you set off left and under the bridge. Word of advice - don’t ask the local kids bombing off the bridge into the water, if they call it a ‘Manu’ like we do in NZ, because they’ll do it right next to your kayak and you’ll be drenched! We spent just under an hour lazily kayaking up the stream and back. It’s a super easy kayak - very flat and no discernible current. We were stoked to see around 15 turtles in the water next to us and resting up on the banks of the river. It’d be a great activity to do with kids as it’s safe and exciting to spot the turtles. Definitely recommend.

Google
Ok not a kayak guy but this was fun. The cost 30 dollars for a hour was very reasonable. They have little river nearby that was nice to travel up and was able to see schools of fish, lots of vegetation and even a few turtles. We had a great time with the family.

Yelp
Had friends visiting from California who wanted to do some snorkeling. I priced Hanauma Bay and after the park fees and rental fees for snorkel equipment it was big bucks!!! Surf n Sea in Haleiwa will rent snorkel equipment out for $8 and that's including fins! During the summer months the North Shore of Oahu is nice for diving. You have Sharks Cove or Laniakea beach where you can swim with the turtles. Make sure to rinse your gear before returning it so you don't get charged for a cleaning fee. They also rent out other water sport equipment as well. Save some money and you'll have more fun!! Malama the aina (pickup all your rubbish), be safe, enjoy and respect the ocean!!

Yelp
Surf N Sea is a classic Haleiwa staple that specializes in all things ocean activities! You can rent gear for surfing, stand up paddle boarding, snorkeling, freediving, scuba, and even kayaking. They even offer lessons and tours. If you're looking to do any water activities and don't have the gear, this is a great spot on the North Shore. I mostly come here to shop, they have all the best surf / beach brands. Which is great since most surf brands have closed down their physical locations. They have racks on racks of awesome swimsuits and clothes. I love looking through all of their surf competition shirts. I think the last time we bought a surf comp shirt we even got the matching poster for free! I also bought my short fins here and was able to find a really cute pair. The service here was super nice and helpful when looking for a pair of fins. Now I'm in the market for longer freediving fins and this is the spot I'm gonna check out the next time I'm in Haleiwa.

Yelp
I had my first surfing experience with Surf & Sea today. I did a solo lesson with Steve as a teacher. He was great! The lesson is in two parts. First you go through on shore the safety rules and practiced the surfing techniques. It took probably about 15-20 min and then we headed to the water. The benefit of having a solo lesson is that you get instructor's full attention and can get a lot of advice. Steve was always positive and gave a lot of tips how to learn to ride the waves. Now I have the advice and just need A LOT of practice. Big thank you to Steve! You are a great instructor!
google avatar

Angel P.

Yelp
Friendly place with great tips and rentals. Worked well for our needs on the North Shore.
google avatar

Madison E.

Yelp
Eddie is very helpful with rentals! Great customer service if you're in the north shore! Good looking snorkels and fins to rent. I would 100% recommend renting gear from here if you're a tourist. Locals too if you're in the area and forgot your gear at home or just don't have any head down to this big yellow building across from Volcom. They got what you need!
google avatar

HImom A.

Yelp
It's been eons since I've been here and rented a SUP. I'm pretty sure it's the same boards now as they were then. These were so beat up. So beat up. Same price as the place with newer boards. I'm sorry guys--I just can't recommend now.

Yelp
If it's related to surfing and water sports, Surf N Sea has it! Why didn't I come here first? After visiting every surf shop on the Waikiki strip and at the North Shore looking for a simple mesh bag to hold my fins, goggles and gloves, I finally found one at Surf N Sea. The gentleman assisting me was so helpful, pulling out all the variety of sizes and even finding one with North Shore emblazoned on it. Was so happy! Shouldn't be this hard to find a mesh bag but most come with the gear and not as a separate items. The other shops I visited that said they were surf shops really focused on the clothing and some common gear. But Surf N Sea is truly focused on supplying you with everything you need for your water adventures - surfing, snorkeling, paddleboarding and even skateboarding. The store is packed with inventory! Don't worry, the customer service is stellar and they can guide you. You can even rent equipment here, including paddle boards. And they offer lessons. Look for the big yellowish building just over the bridge. Beautiful sunsets from their location, too!
google avatar

Don G.

Yelp
Great selection of local Kine merchandise with awesome aloha filled customer service! (Local & Military Discounts given here!) Always a great spot to stop & shop when at the North Shore! Five Stars for their consistency in quality, aloha spirit and that awesome local vibe!

Yelp
I always come to Surf n Sea for my "surfer girl" attire. Heck, even with the sales going on, I get some for friends and family as gifts too! They have a ton of stuff jam packed in there. One time I lost my slippers somewhere on my friends boat, no it didn't fall in the water, but I was in a hurry to get to our next event, so I hopped on over here to pick up another pair. With COVID precautions around, I would recommend spacing out your racks... I still support local though, so many merch and products to choose from. Customer service is always good. Although, during my latest visit, it felt like I was being followed which deterred me from buying anything. Very uncomfortable feeling. Didn't care to catch her name. The guy at the door was sweet though.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
The staff here was great. I stopped in to rent snorkling gear and had some questions. The rental and return process was super easy. The snorkling rental was $8 for up to 4.5 hours and came with the mask and flippers. They also rent body boards, surf boards, and a bunch of other fun water items. The only thing I didn't like was that they write down your credit/debit card number on your rental sheet. They do give it back to you after you return your items but it just doesn't sit right with me.

Yelp
While on Oahu for a Basketball Tournament, some of the team went paddle boarding on the 4th of July. The location was great and the staff was friendly resulting I a great experience! Thanks!

Yelp
Excellent, excellent customer service! From the moment they answer the phone. That's right!... they have a human being there that answers the phone! Haha So I was looking for an 8-6 Torq LB for my son, have them a call and they answered all my questions, gave me all the info I needed. I was even allowed to reserve the board till I could I pick it up. Natalie and Mike were the salespersons who assisted me.... awesome customer service.

Yelp
The staff here are amazing i was looking into buying some Oakley Sutros and a worker Tom asked if we need any help trying on anything in the displays he let me try the sunglasses on and he even let me look outside i think that's a really good thing because if i was buying some sunglasses I would wanna see how they fit and see what the lenses do

Yelp
One of my fav shops to come to on this side of the island! They have a wide variety of gear for all of your water needs (boards, leashes, fins, wax etc.); and they offer gear rentals for the day. The shop is full of plenty of different items. They have a ton of apparel and other things to shop for around the shop. They carry their own branded apparel, as well as many popular brands (especially those that are popular in the world of surfing such as Billabong, Hurley, Ripcurl, and RVCA). The staff is always really friendly and knowledgeable if you have questions about gear or anything at all. Great vibes here!

Yelp
Henry was an excellent surf-instructor. It was my first time surfing, and I felt safe and supported - was able to stand up.

Yelp
My experience with surf n sea, and particularly Charlie, their wonderful instructor was so much better than I could have imagined. She was so good at calming my nerves, helping me get my open water diving certificate in a way that was thorough, professional and fun. - I also just wanted to respond to the review of the person that posted just before me, who left a nasty, spiteful review. I was the customer (not affiliated in any other way with surf n sea) who this person had their interaction with. It was not in fact surf n sea who was taking up wall space, it was me. The person came up to me from behind and without saying anything else just said 'I need the wall'. She was so rude and condescending. I moved a bunch of my stuff once I figured out that she wanted to take off her scuba gear on a part of the wall she felt entitled to (she was not). Then she turned around and rudely asked me to move my stuff again. It was at this point that I pointed out to her that she was being so rude, and that I had already moved my stuff. She just huffed and puffed. No-one from surf n sea was even involved in any of this interaction. It was a back and forth between two private individuals, one of whom was very nasty and demanded that we give her a specific part of a wall that stretches over 200 feet. Perhaps her gear was too heavy for her to safely carry, and perhaps her dive plan could use some revising based on this? Her two dive buddies actually came over afterwards and apologized to us, pointing out that 'sorry, she's just rude to others as a way to make herself feel better'. I would not want to run into this spiteful, lying person under water. Charlie, and no one from surf n sea was involved at all in this altercation. And the person who posted the review below knows this. They are simply lying.

Yelp
Great customer service prices are reasonable too! Nice spot to rent from. This is my third time coming back

Yelp
Awesome store right in the heart of town! This place has something for everyone packed into what looks like an old shed or barn setting. I like that they package up your goods in reusable bags that are functional and cute. We came in here to get the boys rashguards for surfing and left with gifts for the whole fam. They were running a sale on apparel so that meant we were in here a bit longer than we thought we'd be! The folks who work here were all super friendly and helpful. Couldn't have asked for a better shopping experience!
google avatar

Molly L.

Yelp
Such a cool store that we just happened to drive up on when we needed some extra clothes for our day trip in the area. We both didn't plan super well for going out and enjoying a full day without a change of clothes so we stopped here for flip-flops, shorts, and a shirt/cover-up. They have it all here! And everyone here is super knowledgeable and friendly. Brenton helped me find the women's flip-flops; I ended up buying a super cute pair with tropical flowers on them as well as blue athletic shorts to wear over my bikini bottoms. Also got to buy a neat hat as well! I like that they have so much selection here, and it makes it fun to sift through everything and find a cool shirt to take home and remember your stay in Oahu on the North Shore. :) They really knock it out of the park here in terms of customer service. This store in particular is cooler than any store you could find in Honolulu or Waikiki; the vibe is totally chill and mellow! They also have surf lessons here as well, in addition to rentals. Check it out if you can, it's definitely worth it!
google avatar

Devon T.

Yelp
Cool staff! Called the night before cause I couldn't make it to the shop in time to return before closing. They said they would charge for only one day if I brought it back in the morning first thing! Great service will be recommending Surf and Sea!
google avatar

Lauren D.

Yelp
Most affordable scuba gear rental in the area! Well kept gear, friendly staff. A one stop shop for any North Shore adventures.

Keith K.

Yelp
JC was very helpful buying a mask and snorkel. Spent a lot of time with us. Great shop. Friendly staff. We also rented surf boards.
google avatar

Mikey C.

Yelp
Aw yeah! This place is totally over the top. Not only do they have an incredible selection of merchandise, they have outstanding customer service. Five stars all damn day! We rented out snorkel gear here. There were two options: you could buy an "On Sale" snorkel set for $42, or rent a set for a week for $45. The advantages to buying a Sale set were clear: you don't have to worry if your gear has been properly sanitized and you don't have to bring it back at the end of the week. I found a set of flippers in my size and I thought I was good to go. But, this is where the excellent customer service comes in. The employee that helped us was named Mikey. OK, right away I'm thinking this guy is cool. LOL. But, yeah, I was right because if it wasn't for Mikey I would've had a shitty week! See, Mikey noticed I was wearing glasses and he explained that the rental snorkel sets were available with corrective vision snorkel masks. He brought one out for me to try. The corrective vision mask at least doubled my focal range. I was keenly aware all week of how much I would've missed if I would've bought the Sale set. I think it cost a couple extra bucks to rent the special mask, but soooo worth it. That Mikey guy totally hooked me up. They only had one pair of flippers that fit my gigantic feet and they turned out to be mismatched: one was way too snug, the other was looser than Madonna in the 1980s. Mikey got permission from his supervisor to take a new pair off the shelf. So now I was set up with the right snorkel mask and brand spankin' new flippers. I'm set! So, if for nothing else, this place is 5 stars. But, really, there's so much more. The place is a sportsperson's paradise. They have everything from apparel to equipment for just about any water activity you can think of. They have choke postcards. Plus, they have ukeleles! Beautiful ukes. Get one and we'll jam! Mikey C says: Five Stars All Damn Day!
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
Just a tourist review. Stopped here for shopping. Such a cool store and not bad prices. Super friendly staff. Lots of merchandise. All that a surf shop should have.
google avatar

Holland M.

Yelp
I am an avid SCUBA diver. I recently became an Advanced diver last year. My specialization was in deep wreck dives, and photography. During my AOW certification Devin, my Dive Instructor, recommended me and my partner look at gear at Surf N Sea. Right after my first night dive, I was like "I need a dive light." Surf N Sea had a great selection of lights and SCUBA gear. The light I picked up is USB rechargable and waterproof. It is extremely powerful and definitely worth the money. I also bought a pair of dive fins that are extremely sturdy and I've used it on 40ft-120ft dives. Im going to head back to pick up some gear for free diving. I felt like I was in a candy shop! I wouldn't mind taking surf lessons too!
google avatar

Jenilee C.

Yelp
Everyine super friendly from being greeted, asked right away what help was needed. Payton helped us and was great. Told him what i needed and previous issues with other snorkel sets and he knew right away what to recommend. I love how most of the goggle are sold separate from snorkels or fins so you can customize each part. I dont think ill go anywhere else for wate sport stuff. Its worth the drive from town. You can tell everyone who works there is well versed and avid beach/water folk that enjoy what they do.
google avatar

Evangelene G.

Yelp
We just walked up behind the big yellow store, greeted and were able to rent a kayak. Our person helping us was really patient with the other groups and very helpful. We were able to take the kayak up the river and back. You can kayak or paddle within the bay, but there are boundaries where you cannot go past and you will be advised. When you are done, you go inside the store to pay and then you go back out to finalize the transaction. Really easy. The restrooms are located in the store - follow the arrows on the floor. Would definitely recommend this place if you are in the North Shore area!
google avatar

Nikita S.

Yelp
Booked surfing lessons twice, had a good experience with their instructor. My only recommendation is to ALWAYS wear a rash guard and put COPIOUS amounts of sunscreen on your feet! We got burned while surfing the first time and my chest hurt due to not having a rash guard. Both sunscreen and rash guards are available at their store for good prices. IMO it would be good if Surf N Sea warned you about this as you checkin for your lesson as its not "common sense" for mainlanders.
google avatar

Jordan D.

Yelp
Parking for this place is a pain and is limited. The place has an employee who leans on the surf rack and is super rude. I was pulled over. She felt the need to laugh at me with another employee before telling me to pull my car away. I called my wife and asked her to leave. Store selection was much bigger than most, still does not call for rudeness or impoliteness. For the simple basis of impoliteness, I will not recommend.
google avatar

Katy K.

Yelp
I may be the least athletic person ever. I can swim but no one has ever called me graceful. So I was extremely nervous (maybe even downright afraid) about surf lessons. But my husband really wanted us to try, so I decided to be a good sport. I went into this thinking that I had the minimum expectation that I be able to paddle out. It would be a raging success if I got up once. Well, Zion and Sam were either great instructors or miracle workers because I got up on the first go. In fact, I got up at least five times. I never managed a run all the way into the beach, but I far exceeded what I thought I could do. Plus, it was a lot of fun! The shop itself has the best t-shirt designs in town and the most helpful sales people.
google avatar

Gabriel G.

Yelp
Took surfing lessons with Sam. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and chill. Would recommend lessons with him. One thing to know is that although you check-in at the store, the surf spot is down the street.
google avatar

Jeff E.

Yelp
Super dope surf lesson. Henry made that simple, fun, and now I'm inspired to try it more. Lots of good stuff in the store too.

Jerimy J.

Yelp
Eddie was the best brah of the store. He asked me to take a surfing lesson, I was down. I planned to come back for the 1pm session. I booked and when I showed up they told me the price was double, $170. They said it had to be a private lesson. I think they were busy and didn't want to free up an employee to help me. I ended up renting a few boogie boards for my boys and then decided to get a long board for me. They intentionally made me wait to get my board for 10 minutes and got the last crappy board they had. To top it off, when we returned the equipment, they tried to charge me for 3 hours when I had the equipment for an 1 hour and 40 minutes. They corrected it after I called them out. Maybe it's cause I am a mainlander but it was not a pleasant experience. I thought a place with a sick mural of Bob Marley would be more about "one love" lame. Thanks Eddie for being a true bro!
google avatar

Calvin L.

Yelp
Cool place to get paddle boards. It's 20$ for 1 hour for paddle board and the people in the store are nice. The people on the beach seem to hate their lives though? They didn't write down anything and 1 guys eyes basically said "do whatever you want I'm off soon". No one really helped to explain to us anything but I did this before so I didn't really need help. No reservation needed is nice
google avatar

Arlene L.

Yelp
Cheapest kayak rental! Two great options to kayak: to the river or to the ocean.... Better yet, do both. Went 2x within a week last June. Will definitely go back on my next visit.
google avatar

Joey M.

Yelp
"...shopping for pretty bows, and then back to her place, strip down to bra and panties for a tickle fight?" - Jerry to Elaine, Seinfeld This is a must stop on every visit to the North Shore. I always find something, boardshorts, stickers, cool t-shirt, wax, whatever. They have a TON of clothes for the girls too... always check the clearance rack (outside & inside) for deals! They run surf, SUP & diving lessons out of the shop, folks are super friendly. They also have a bathroom, so if needed after a beach session at Chun's or Marijuana's it's the perfect pitstop.
google avatar

Ava S.

Yelp
Great shopping.experience, even in pandemic. It's a got great merchandise and well laid out in small space. We will be back!!
google avatar

Celi R.

Yelp
These guys are great. We got kayaks from them our first day here and came back for a surf lesson a few days later. Lucas and Holton, our surf instructors were awesome. They went over the basics, made sure that everyone caught a lot of great waves and gave a push start when needed. The boards are huge so literally anyone can have a successful surf experience here.
google avatar

Adam M.

Yelp
Fantastic shop. Staff is super knowledgeable, and go above and beyond to help out. Equipment and clothing selection is vast, but the people who work there are the real reason why I'll be going back.
google avatar

Joe P.

Yelp
For my first surf shop review on my recent visit to the islands, I wanted to share a pretty cool place in the North Shore. Surf n Sea is the oldest surf shop in Hale'iwa (original location opened in 1921), and the store looks that way. They do a lot of equipment rentals, but like all surf shops I go into I am looking for unique t-shirt and boardshort prints. Unfortunately, I only found one T-shirt print I liked. In addition, I had a hard time looking for boardshorts because they are not arranged by size. I gave up. However, the ambiance is very cool, and they give you a nice bag. They have surfboards hanging from the ceiling, including one ridden by the late Eddie Aikau. The workers are really nice too. Stop by here for the nostalgia factor. They also have their own brand of boardshort that is only available in their shop.
google avatar

Taylor M.

Yelp
I love this surf shop. For the merchandise. Stop by every time go north shore because favorite spot. Except this last time I went in, the workers all had very strange energy. Over the years, I never get a friendly vibe here, no aloha, but usually don't care. Didn't feel friendly at all, they follow me around the store like I was going to steal or something. When all I wanted to do was spend my money. I was dressed in a bathing suit with a small cover up how I gonna steal anyways, stick it up my ass??? Then the few workers who do care to smile at you, it's forced. Or forced small talk to try sell us some lessons. Waiting outside dressing room til I'm done like a creep, can't even pretend to be busy, then can't even answer simple question about which merchandise is best style. Seem tired of tourists. Seem like no one there want to work. I get maybe tired from working, maybe they got problem with thieves, but I'd rather not be talked to and followed around when the workers act like that. Get asked five times in 5 minutes if I'm finding everything ok. Ummm, kinda, I'm trying to focus here.
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
Dived with Adam on the north shore, he's great!!!! He's super familiar with the area, we swam through a lot of amazing lava tubes, some look like cathedrals. We also found 4 baby sharks!!!!
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
The customer service here is excellent!! Especially Daniel who helped my wife pick out a rash guard before a recent staycation. He was able to answer all of her questions and made the whole shopping experience a much great experience. Plus we were able to get a discount because of an ongoing Christmas sale so that definitely was a bonus. Would definitely come back and shop here again!!
google avatar

Crystal Z.

Yelp
My girlfriend bought me a surfing lesson for my birthday and she booked everything online! I arrived to the store and was immediately greeted and introduced to my surf instructor, Henry. Henry was very knowledgeable about the beach and land. He explained the techniques before getting in the water as well as how to spot channels which was very helpful. He also gave me some tips on buying a beginner board. I was able to ride a couple of waves. I definitely recommend this shop and will be coming back for intermediate lessons!

Yelp
Booking: Their site was easy to use. Booked my daughter's surf lesson in seconds. Customer service: We were greeted the moment we got there, help was offered immediately for what we needed. Instructor: Karen was amazing! She spent a lot of time with my daughter. She stayed in the water helping her even when everyone else was too tired to continue. She was knowledgeable, a great teacher, and friendly. We would go back for sure! Aloha to Surf and Sea and especially Karen! Thank you for making my daughter's trip a memorable one!

Yelp
Writing my review based on my shopping experience here. However, because it was so positive, I can only assume that the lessons they offer are awesome experiences as well. Buckle up cuz this is about to be the longest, most jumbled shopping story... My fiancé was in desperate need of new flip flops. He has strangely wide feet that is impossible to shop for. When we visited Surf N Sea, we came in contact with several employees who helped us along this sandal discovery journey. I say this because we ended up coming back here three different times. Not at any fault of the shop, but our own because we're so damn picky. On our first visit, Yuri helped us and was extremely diligent in helping both my fiancé and me find our perfect sandals. She made great recommendations that truly was helpful and checked on us many times. While she was attentive, she was never pushy trying to make a commission. I really appreciated true customer service like this! We both found sandals we liked and were on our way. However after getting home and trying on the shoes again, we both decided that sizing didn't really match up for long term wear. Back to the store we go to exchange. FYI: Exchange only, no refunds! The employee (didn't catch his name) at the cash register at the time was extremely understanding and even let my fiancé use a razor to cut the ties holding the sandals together so that he could walk around in the store. That helped tremendously. Then we were helped by Daniel who understood my fiancé's pain because he too, had wide feet. Daniel sat through every single try on for my fiancé who went with yet another pair of shoes. Where do I come in this story? Patiently waiting for every try on, picking up a few knick knacks for myself. Ultimately, my fiancé had major shoe envy for Daniel's custom Rainbows he was wearing during our interaction. And Daniel was kind enough to explain how we could possibly go about finding shoes like his even if that meant he wouldn't make a sale off of him. So on our very last day in Hawaii, my fiancé decided that sandals were not in the cards for him and ended up coming back and returning that other pair. Well like I said, exchange only. So ultimately, I got all of the store credit that my fiancé racked up and got to go home with two pairs of brand new shoes and lots of random souvenirs from Hawaii. So while my fiancé didn't find the shoes of his dreams. I ended up with a happy ending. But moral of this whole story is: Surf N Sea has amazing customer service and even though the pricing is tourist pricing, I'll happily shop with them anytime I'm back on the North Shore!

Yelp
David was really helpful when I brought in my suddenly leaking snorkel tube. He quickly assessed the problem, fixed it, and reattached it for me, all at no charge. Very knowledgeable and great service!!

Yelp
The nicest staff. Came in to rent snorkel gear, and they warned the surf wasn't good today. They had no incentive to just take our money, and let us find out it was a horrible day to snorkel on our own. Everyone in the shop was incredibly friendly. Would go out of my way to rent here every time just for that.

Yelp
Super cool shop in Haleiwa. Jay was super helpful. I came in looking for a Yeti bottle and he helped me out, he gave me some information on rentals and the different services and activities they provide. It's a very large store, lots to look at. Plenty of swimsuits and sunblock. Water bottles and water sports gear. Also, the rentals are very reasonably priced! I checked out a lot of the other surf shops while in town on our recent visit and the over all vibe here was very welcoming and laid back. I would definitely come back and recommend this shop! Easy parking too which is always a plus! And super great location in relation to the beach!
