Surfari Bocas is a good accommodation option in Bocas del Toro.
The property is about a 10-minute walk from the pier. It is close to a grocery store. It has a common kitchen with fridge, and common lounging areas with couches and tables. Laundry service is available for a fee.
The room has a shelved area to put things on.
The beddings smelled off. Tomas had them replaced after the request.
There are frequent power outages in Bocas. In turn, water supply gets cut when there's no electricity. We had to wait for a while to have our shower after a day of island hopping/swimming in the sea.
Edit:
* Bocas is a group of islands, indeed; but it's not as "remote" as it sounds. There are multiple water taxis everyday that ply this route from/to mainland Panama.
* Bocas started its tourism industry in the 1980s; and is the most popular destination in the country. In spite of this, there are frequent power outages here.
* There are other hotels though that have power generators in the event of power outages.
