Silence was supposed to be from 9-9 but wake up at 630 as other guests were making a lot of noise in the common room. The bed was hard rock and the pillows were made of plastic? Never seen that in my life. Also the bathroom was pretty bad with a serious need for deep clean. Commom kitchen was in bad shape regarding pots and pans. It was cheap and central but I would recommend to pay a bit more and stay elsewhere.

Overall great value, ideal location. Room was clean, owner was so friendly. Decent wifi & aircon. We stayed in room 15 & the shower head was very inconvenient as it just pointed at the wall but can be removed so it wasnt an issue. Kitchen was quite small but has everything you need. Owner could add a filtered water station which would be great and save everyone some money.

Surfari Bocas is a good accommodation option in Bocas del Toro. The property is about a 10-minute walk from the pier. It is close to a grocery store. It has a common kitchen with fridge, and common lounging areas with couches and tables. Laundry service is available for a fee. The room has a shelved area to put things on. The beddings smelled off. Tomas had them replaced after the request. There are frequent power outages in Bocas. In turn, water supply gets cut when there's no electricity. We had to wait for a while to have our shower after a day of island hopping/swimming in the sea. Edit: * Bocas is a group of islands, indeed; but it's not as "remote" as it sounds. There are multiple water taxis everyday that ply this route from/to mainland Panama. * Bocas started its tourism industry in the 1980s; and is the most popular destination in the country. In spite of this, there are frequent power outages here. * There are other hotels though that have power generators in the event of power outages.

I was completely impressed with the professionalism and customer service I received. They went above and beyond to make sure all my needs were met. I loved the building design. The common areas were clean, the kitchen which is a shared area was always clean and there is free coffee all day every day!!!! Wifi was always working at not extra charge. I so so love that this building have flowers every where which makes it welcoming and also so colorful!! I felt like I was home for sure. I 100% recommend Surfari Bocas and Thomas the amazing host for making my stay so pleasant.

You get what you pay for. Surroundings are simple; you’re close to the main drag. |Here’s the reality: All of the streets near the guesthouse are completely torn up to install a new sewer line. Your taxi from the airport will be forced to drop you a block away. Upon arrival, you’ll get a room with polyester sheets (a first for me after 170 countries visited) and towels scratchy and oddly unabsorbent. The pillows have no support and the mattress isn’t much better. Walls are thin; you’ll hear couples arguing and kids fighting. And promptly at 8:01 AM, the roadworks outside begin, so no need to set an alarm. Pro tip? Stay elsewhere if you like cotton sheets and peace and quiet.

Thomas is such an awesome host and lives also there with his cute family. They were very welcoming and hospitable. The rooms are simple but good for the price The kitchen is simple but works fine.

Well priced in the middle of it all. Room had working AC, private bath and was super clean (a bit old looking). Manager Thomas is a efficient and friendly operator and has local knowledge of the activities and how to get there too. Only complaint was the water was either scalding for a few seconds or cold (could not adjust it to a comfortable temperature). Highly recommend as a low budget option.

Really nice owner who helps you with everything you need. No hot water most of the times. But its like that on the whole island. Our other hotels had the same. Clean rooms. Good WiFi.
