First time having sushi in Japan generally. Saw a person promoting this on social media so we decided to give it a try. Waiting time was around 30 minutes during dinner time. There was a long queue outside the shop. Once you’re inside, you can just take anything you like on the rotating platform. Green tea was complementary. Everyone was given a cup with 2 sauce plates. Most of the sushi was tasty however some of the fish sushi tasted a little fishy. Feels like they are not really that fresh. Maybe it was just me. As for the cost, our total bill was around 3800¥ for 14 plates of sushi. Quite affordable around this area to be honest.

Google
Nothing less than five stars. The value for money for sushi this decent, I don’t know where else I would go to get the same quality for the price. Queued 15-20 minutes at peak time 13:00. I think at worst it would be 25-30 minutes.

Google
Had the best sushi dining experience here! The tamago sushi was the best i’ve ever tasted and the food was generally reasonably priced. They also served a variety of sashimi and beef!

Google
Conveyor belt sushi located in Kyoto Station. Staff are friendly and you can ask for no wasabi, and the chef will be happy to make it fresh for you. They offer a wide variety of tuna sushi which was definitely the highlight here!

Google
Great sushi restaurant within Kyoto station (near the Shinkansen exit). You help yourself off the conveyor belt and pay by number of plates times plate colour.

Google
It was a really great and authentic experience. This is a sushi conveyor belt restaurant, which I find the best way to pick and enjoy sushi. It is right on the South side near the central exit. There was a line outside of mostly Japanese, which was a good sign for me. Food was truly excellent, and moderately priced. Can highly recommend.

I think I ate everything here. The fish is sooooooo fresh. Food is amazing and so many options. Atmosphere is great too! Lucky find

Google
While I am not the biggest fan of the atmosphere, it just serves its purpose perfect. During rush times there might be a little Que but especially if you’re in a hurry and there’s no waiting line, you can eat very quickly The food quality is very high and tasty and the tamago is my personal favorite. It is super big and therefore has a lot of protein for a very good price. The quality of the fish is also very good. Prices are good. I highly recommend this place

Yelp
This restaurant is located inside of Kyoto Station, one of the major stations in Kyoto. We visited this place six years ago, and we came back and happy to see that it's still there! Im sure there are many conveyor belt sushi places in Japan, this is has a better selection imo. Price is a a little bit higher, however, the quality is also better. The service is pretty standard as the rest of Japan, polite and fast. Once we sat down, we were able to pick our plates right away. They have some nice selections of fresh cut fish, shell fish and vegan ones. My daughter really enjoyed the blue fin tuna, it tastes so buttery, and fresh. They put the photo and names of each in front of each selection in English, Chinese and Japanese, which I think it's very helpful for tourists to understand. At the end of the day, you wanna know what kind of fish you are eating. The restaurant is well staffed, and always busy. The sushi chef are staring in the middle preparing fresh sushi for you, and you can also order something special from them if you like to have something off the menu. You can help yourself with hot matcha tea, and order some miso soup. The restaurant has enough space to sit around 30 guests, and wait time is minimum. It's not very loud which is nice. The price of each plate is very transparent, and they will count the plate at the end to calculate how much your bill will be. We enjoyed this place very much, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. If I go to Kyoto again, we will visit again!

Yelp
Sushi's so good there was a wait when I got there for dinner on a week day. Definitely worth the wait! The staff were super friendly. I ordered a lot of dishes with their tablet located on the table. My fav were the uni, red rice shrimp, fatty tuna, unagi. Pretty good for solo diners. Other than the counter seats, there were also tables for 4.

Yelp
Awesome conveyor belt sushi that won't break the bank while the USD to JPY conversion is still strong! We spent ¥3500 (~ $22.7) for two people, but we did snack quite a bit beforehand so stumbled here while our stomachs were maybe a third full. The fish tasted pretty fresh and were definitely a step up from what you'd have at Kura Revolving Sushi in the stateside, and I thought the cuts of fish were pretty generous too! I personally enjoyed the raw scallop and salmon belly. Tuna and seabream were also good, along with the snow crab! The unagi was okay since it was cold, and I prefer it a bit warmed up. We enjoyed the complimentary green tea, but were too full to try the soft serve (also very cheap price-wise) Overall a nice experience with quick turnaround for lunch, and the staff were nice and quick to deliver drinks and check when you're all done. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice and affordable meal at the station before heading to Nara or the Shinkansen to wherever!

Yelp
I came back day after day for four days straight. I kept eating the same lean Tuna nigiri, salmon, shrimp, scallop, yellow tail, etc. I couldn't get enough, and the thought of this place was living in my mind rent free. The fish quality is so fresh, great texture, delicious flavors of the ingredients and sushi rice were coming through. Fresh ginger and sauce. The service is impeccable. Kind chefs, amazing staff, and I even made a friend while dining alone. Now him & I are back in the states and so happy we met at this restaurant. Family friendly restaurant with a decent amount of seating. Would definitely go again for four days straight.

Yelp
I love this spot in Kyoto station. I ate here before about 15 years ago and so happy to return. The staff is so welcoming and friendly. The sushi chefs are so busy keeping the conveyor full. There are so many yummy options on the belt but you can also order from menu. If you have time you should try! Even when there is a line it moves fast! Sushi tastes fresh!

Yelp
Great spot for conveyor sushi, with many tiers of plate options: from about ¥140 to ¥900. Delicious cuts of fish, and other item (egg, horse, duck, salad, etc.) Have green tea bag and all sauce, with menu available for order. Need to go to hachijō entrance from Kyoto station, a bit tricky to navigate but worth it if you want sushi. ありがとうごじます!これわおいしいすし。

Yelp
Fresh and tasty sushi conveniently located within the Kyoto train station. This rotating sushi restaurant had the best variety of sushi I've seen in such restaurants Japan. Everything was made quickly. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Loved this conveyer belt sushi restaurant! The prices were so cheap compared to what we're used to paying in the U.S. and the quality was 10 times better! My sister and I finished 20+ plates and tried all sorts of nigiri, including the fatty tuna (chutoro), bluefin (otoro), shrimp and more. Once we got seated, everything was self-serve, including hot water taps at our bar for complimentary green tea. By the time we left, we were stuffed and had our fill of sushi for the rest of the trip!

Yelp
Inexpensive revolving sushi place on the first floor of ASTY, a shopping mall along Hachijo-Dori Street. It's located on the south side of Kyoto Station. There are about thirty seats at the counter, all facing the conveyor belt and kitchen area. It's pretty busy, with most of the spots taken the whole time I was there and lines forming outside occasionally. Once seated, help yourself to some green tea and start grabbing plates from the belt. The different tiers were: Blue Plate - ¥160 after tax ($1.14 USD) mostly nigiri (raw fish on rice), gunkan (wrapped in seaweed), maki (rice rolls wrapped in seaweed), inarizushi (fried tofu pocket with rice), basically all the low-level items like tamago (rolled omelet). Crab salad gunkan was a little light on the mayo but nothing wrong taste-wise. Red Plate - ¥257 ($1.83 USD) standard selection you typically find at other places. Salmon and tuna were too rubbery. Blue and Gold Plate - ¥400 ($2.85 USD) - offerings here are a bit more premium. The fatty salmon had a delicate texture. Gold Plate - ¥509 ($3.63 USD) some more special items. Lean bluefin tuna (akami) was kind of acidic. Checkered Plate - ¥697 ($4.96 USD) Medium fatty bluefin tuna (chutoro) or large scallop. The chutoro was the tastiest fish I tried here but still fell short compared to other sushi places. Black Plate - ¥840 ($5.98 USD) the cream of the crop, like uni and rockfish. Unfortunately, they did not have the fatty bluefin tuna (otoro) available to try. The rice was decent overall. I believe all the sushi pieces on the belt come with wasabi already on top of the rice. If you don't want that, you need to ask the staff to make one for you. Very few side dishes to choose from. Not the best quality but certainly a bargain if you're looking for something that'll fill you up. Takeout is an option if you want to grab sushi to-go and eat on the bullet train. They had several bento boxes ready, and the price was cheaper than dine-in.

Yelp
Pretty solid sushi here. They have a good strategy for their conveyer belt. They only place one or two orders of sushi. That way what goes on the belt is pretty fresh. -Finally got to try the pufferfish; it was alright. And I didn't die. -Favorites included: otoro, unagi, chutoro, scallop, and seabream -Other interesting items included: grilled corn, smoked duck, amberjack, ark shell, bering sea cockle, and pacific saury -Some of the other regulars: salmon (regular if you come from the USA, not regular in Japan), whelk, flounder, and yellowtail I liked that I was able to try so many different sushi pieces, and I could easily get more of anything I liked.

Yelp
After eating at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant for the first time, I don't think the wife and I can look at a regular sushi restaurant the same again. Sushi no Musashi follows the standard format of conveyor belt sushi. Small plates, each typically carrying two pieces of sushi or nigiri, are carried by a conveyor belt that slowly circles around the room, going past each seat. You have a view of what's coming down the line, and once it's in front of you, you have a few seconds to grab any plates you want. The cost of each item is determined by the plate's color. There are five plate types here, ranging from basic (160 yen after tax) to premium (697 yen). Your final bill is the sum of all the plates you've taken. This was a lot of fun, since while you are eating, you need to keep your eyes open for what's coming by next. If you miss your chance to grab something, you'll have to wait for the plate to come back around, approximately 3 minutes and 40 seconds later! Or you can ask the chef directly to make you a particular item (including if you want something without wasabi, since all the nigiri on the conveyor belt is made using wasabi). There are dozens of different items on the menu, so plenty to choose from. And for even more efficiency, chopsticks, moist towelettes, sauces, and green tea bags are provided at the table in front of you. There's a hot water dispenser spout there too; you just press your cup against the button underneath the spout. Talk about efficiency! We stuck with mostly the basic plates and a couple of the second tier plates, and those were quite satisfying. We were able to fill up reasonably at around 3,000 yen ($23) for the two of us. Good food and a lot of fun without breaking the bank, and in a convenient location at the Kyoto JR Station - this place is a winner for sure!

Yelp
Had uni there. It was terrible. Not fresh and I got severe diarrhea from it. Do not eat Uni there. It think it was bad. Tries to tell the waitress and they said do not understand.

Yelp
This restaurant was clean and the customer service was really good. I am not really picky about sushi so I thought that the fish was fresh and the rice was good texture and well seasoned. What stood out to me was that the carousel was constantly updated with new dishes and there was a wide variety of different types of sushi on the belt. Sushi was affordable and even the cheapest dishes which started at $1.50 each were good cuts of fish. The process was really easy and the staff uses a measuring device to measure the number of plates that you ate. Great experience.

Yelp
Nice sushi train restaurant in Kyoto station. There is a small space for waiting and the line went fairly quickly but we ate early 5:30pm so I'm not sure what it's like at other times. The different cuts of sushi come by on colored plates that range in price. The plates are all chipped so at the end they scan your stack to calculate the tab. The sushi here is good for this kind of restaurant. Three of us ate for around $55. FYI the covered plates have wasabi already on the pieces. You have wasabi, soy sauce and ginger at your station as well as green tea bags and hot water.

Yelp
Conveyer belt sushi? Say no more! Who doesn't love the idea of grabbing your own plate off a conveyer belt? We love options! Amazing sit down restaurant around a conveyer belt with delicious sushi coming your way. Each seat also has personal hot water on tap, where you can brew your own green tea.

Yelp
A conveyor belt sushi located right inside Kyoto Station. Hubs and I pass by this place almost every day between our hotel and running for the trains. We had some down time one evening and was looking for snack and what's better than sushi?! We were there just after the peak and waited about 15 minutes or so. Ebi Shrimp, fatty tuna, and salmon belly are among my favorite sushi plates. Unfortunately, they ran out of sea urchin already. Sushi quality is really good and prices are very affordable for Kyoto Station. Obviously, there are better ones out there that we tried but this one was convenient! There is a line even before it opens so make sure you come early enough before you are starving to wait on the line! Or come at off hours for a lesser wait time. Although the line gets long, it was not an unbearable wait. For starters, you wait to get seated at the bar. There is a conveyor belt of sushi goodness that circles around and if you see anything you want to try, grab it. Price of each plate depends on the plate color, so look for the price guide. Don't eat with your eyes, the plates do add up! Wasabi, soy sauce, and matcha are self-serve in front of you at the bar.

Yelp
No wait (party of 4) and instant service once seated. Salmon Nigiri and Sesame Roll were so good. All plates were tasty and great prices as low as 160¥ (~$1)!

Yelp
Great restaurant! We lucked out that it was open. It was in a shopping center, a bit hard to find as we can't read in Japanese. The place was pretty packed at 12pm. We put our name down on the list and got seated in less than 45-mins. Good thing the greeter spoke in English. Phew!! They have a little kiosk where you enter your name and number of people in your party. Without the help from the greeter, we would've stood there like deer in headlights. So thank you! They had a great selection on the sushi boat lineup. We were 13-14 dishes deep, 2 small bowls of udon and beer/sake by the time we were done. The tab in US was less than $50. I was astonished! That would've been easily $100+ in the States. Love, love Japan! Everything i tried was delish! My fave were the unagi nigiri. It was a good seafood to rice ratio. My wife liked all the creamy, mayo nigiri selections. She also had 2 bowls of udon. Mind you, they were pretty small. However, she continued to talk about it during our time in Osaka. She still craves it! Super simple, but packed with flavor. The noodles were cooked well, al debate and not mushy. Def a must try!

Yelp
Great conveyor belt sushi! This is a small place, so even early (I was there at 11am) there was a wait. I was placed in front of one of the cooks who was adding fresh unagi. I took full advantage and ate a ton of that! In addition, I also picked out some premium tuna and nonpremium tuna plates. Everything was great! I appreciated that their use of wasabi wasn't completely overwhelming like some places. The next day, I grabbed an unagi sushi box to go on the bullet train. This place is located near the McDonald's, down a hallway full of restaurants.

Yelp
For Kaiten sushi restaurants this is one of the better ones we have found in Kyoto. Located right in the JR Kyoto station it's hard to miss. Pricing is very reasonable and they offer special plates as the opportunity arises. This most recent visit we had to wait about 15 minutes for a seat (no big deal) and they had several different shellfish dishes that we hadn't seen before. We also saw blowfish for the first time (fugu) and we decided to "chance'm". It was chewy and somewhat bland. One and done for us. In the past we have seen horse and mane sushi offered but not this time. Would we have tried it? Maybe if we were in the right mood like the fugu. The tea was great and free. The service is always pleasant and efficient, the line moves fairly fast and they have a good process to move people along. When we left the line was much longer but you didn't hear any grumbling. Great sushi, low prices, nice quality and a friendly/efficient staff make for a great bargain sushi experience in a convenient location in Kyoto. A must try when in the mood for sushi in Kyoto station area.

Yelp
Located in Kyoto station, this conveyor belt sushi place seemed to be a popular place and had a large line by the time I finished. Several of my YELP buddies had rated this place very highly. Plate prices were 146 yen or 346 yen depending on the selections. The tuna rolls and nigiri tasted pretty good here, but the quality wasn't the same caliber as the tuna I had in Tokyo in the Tsukiji fish market. Although the pricing was comparable to what I paid at Tsukiji. The salmon was very disappointing here, with the exception of the seared salmon nigiri. I noticed that some of the sushi plates that had been on the conveyor belt for some time, the sushi chefs situated in the center, would have those plates removed to be discarded. I had high expectations coming in to here. However, I wasn't impressed with the offerings here. Really the only good items are the tuna ones. So if one needs to eat here, I would only recommend the tuna. Complimentary green tea is included.

Yelp
Very popular conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Kyoto Station in a restaurant hall on the "Hachijo" side, ground floor. It's directly across from the "Inoda Coffee" place which is easier to spot. Anyways the line moves quickly and once inside, you're seated in front of the conveyor belt where all sorts of sushi will roll by including salmon, tuna, blow fish, eel, octopus, and grilled corn sushi. Everything is fresh and reasonably priced considering the quality.
google avatar

Nelson Q.

Yelp
Good quality conveyer belt style sushi spot inside Kyoto Station. Always a line, so go at your own risk. Sadly, they were out of Uni, so I drowned my sorrows with a few plates of Nodoguro (fatty black throat sea perch) and Chutoro (Medium Fatty Bluefin Tuna Belly) at 346 yen which was an awesome deal because the quality was top notch. The Smoked Duck nigiri was surprisingly good, and if you advertise RAW HORSE NIGIRI, Of course I had to try it! It's advertised as "raw horse (meat and mane) and came with a red and white piece. The red meat was good, but the white piece was tough(tougher than the fugu I had in Tokyo!) and kinda nasty tasting. Overall, a great spot for kaiten sushi...ALOHA!!! Shaka Meter: \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ 5

Yelp
Had some high hopes about trying some good sushi but it didn't really deliver in terms of my expectations. I hate it when I have such high hopes on a place then feel a little let down so I try not to have such high hopes on places. We went for dinner and there was about a 30 min wait. There were several non-locals dining here at the conveyor belt revolving sushi joint and I heard several English speaking folks. I prefer more of a local hangout type of place. The sushi wasn't bad at all and was actually pretty good but I guess I was just hoping to be blown away. It just lacked that 'wow' factor for me and running out of toro after one plate didn't help either. We did order about 25-30 plates and sampled a lot of sushi. All the sushi tasted fresh and was well prepared.

Yelp
Sushi no musashi is a kaiten/conveyor belt sushi restaurant, located in Kyoto station. Various items rotate around the track. The different colored plates represent different prices. The chefs are constantly churning out sushi, so it's easy to find something you'll enjoy. The quality of food here is pretty good for Japanese standards. Prices are also pretty reasonable. Overall an excellent choice for dining in Kyoto station if you have the time.

Yelp
Hubby likes the idea of conveyor belt sushi so we came here for dinner. The sushi is decent but not the best quality. The prices are very affordable ranging from 146 yen to 464 yens for the gold dishes. We ate 15 dishes and it came out to 3178 yen. They had blowfish, different fatty tuna and salmon, smoked duck, tamago, crawfish and etc. they ran out of uni by dinner time. Nothing to write home about.
google avatar

Yelp
Great conveyor belt sushi spot that let's you order less rice or even no rice! Not too far from Aeon Mall Narita. I would definitely recommend coming here because the hospitality is amazing and the fish is very fresh. There is self serve green tea (matcha powder and hot water) and lots of varieties of fish.

Yelp
This was the best conveyor belt sushi I've ever tried! It was cheap, fast and very good quality sushi. We decided to come off peak meal times to avoid the long lines, but still had to wait a little. Line moves pretty fast though, after all, it's not a place to linger. They only have 2 pricing: ¥149 or ¥349. The difference between the 2 ¥149 places is the fact the more colorful plate has no wasabi and the blue one is with wasabi. We made sure we pick the new plates and not ones that's been going around for awhile, so we thought everything was very fresh and good. My favorite was the Chu-toro (medium fat tuna) and it's a steal for ¥349. We ate 20 plates and came out less than ¥4000. Good deal!!
google avatar

Yelp
This is definitely a touristy place- but we love our conveyor belt sushi! There's also another inside Sanjo Meiten-gai. They have 3 color dishes in which range from ~¥150-400. There's also green tea, all you have to so is press your cup against the black button on the faucet to get hot water. You also have to ask them for wasabi (if you want it). Some of the sushi came straight out of these packets so I'm not too sure if they're fresh. They were definitely good but nothing impressive. Some sushi had that 'melt in you mouth' effect (scallop, tuna, etc). My favorite was the seared tuna, lobster salad, and crab salad!
google avatar

Yelp
For kaiten-zushi, Sushi No Musashi has exceeded my expectations. Plates of nigiri are unbelievably priced at ¥146 and ¥346. Right smack in the middle of the restaurant encircled by the conveyor belt are sushi chefs constantly and consistently doing their magic to ensure guests get only freshly made sushi. Don't believe me? You can watch them with your very eyes no matter where you sit as you dine here. I've seen them toss away plates of sushi that's been rotating more than they'd like. Don't find what you're looking for or want something fresher than what you see? Ask the chef or the server and they will make it for you. How's that for pure awesomeness?! Each colored plate has a designated price and also represents sushi with or without wasabi. Not to worry, a sign is explicitly on display for your reference as well as labels of what fish or meat you are eating. I found myself like a kid in a candy store as I saw all the options going around the belt before my eyes. I wanted to try everything! Abalone, fresh water eel, otoro, chutoro, fatty salmon, crab miso, cuttlefish herring roe, you name it, I ate them all, some a few too many. The one thing I couldn't eat was the raw horsemeat & mane. Call me weak but I just couldn't. All I got other than my husband's confused expression as he ate this was "it's chewy". And there you have it. I have completely forgotten uni was unavailable as I was too busy enjoying the impressively fresh sushi spread and stellar service from such a casual place. A golden option inside Kyoto Station, no doubt!

Yelp
OK spot for conveyor belt sushi inside Kyoto Station. As with most trips to Japan it's not really a complete trip without during conveyor belt sushi. After Yelping places this one came top of mind due to it's location. PROS: + Good variety between different types of sushi + Decent price point 146 Yen per plate and 346 Yen for speciality plates + Takes card CONS: + Can have a long line during prime times + Some pre-made sushi pieces had waaaay too much wasabi making them hard to eat + I saw a chef cough near the sushi so not the most hygienic My go-to options were the salmon, tuna, and uni. I would pass on their baked salmon next time. Overall, I can see why this place is popular, but I wasn't too impressed with the pieces I had. Would I come back? Eh depends if I just want something quick and close. Would I go to other places before coming back? Yeah, I'll probably try other highly rated conveyor belt sushi places before heading back to this location.

Yelp
Great location, cheap, delicious sushi. It's inside Kyoto Station, and still that good! Don't be a fool and try comparing this to a traditional sushi restaurant. It's conveyor belt sushi that's fast, and great for a quick bite without breaking the bank. Check out the plate picture for pricing. Foreigner friendly and has really good wasabi.

Yelp
My traveling group and I stumbled upon Sushi no Musashi during a quest to find and eat lunch at a delicious and affordable kaiten sushi establishment. Sushi no Musashi perfectly fit that description! Sushi no Musashi is quite an interesting place for conveyer belt sushi. They have the strangest of selections to choose from. My initial impression of the place was fairly poor as I noticed the bowl of edamame rotating around consisted of more brown than green and the plate of sweet potatoes looked rather unappetizing. As such, it left an impression with me that the food here wasn't that fresh or clean though I didn't have a problem with the sashimi at all. The raw seafood was far from the greatest I've had, but still fairly better than what I would find back home in California. They have your standard fare here such as salmon, tuna, and yellowtail, but also has some items you wouldn't really expect. Such nigiri items include: raw horse meat and mane, ice fish, blowfish, ham and cheese, and much much more. At the end of the day, I think this restaurant wins purely on variety more than anything else. One other thing is that the prices are very very affordable. Many of the plates go for under 200 yen which is a bargain! I find Sushi no Musashi to not be the best place for the freshest of sushi, but a wonderful kaiten sushi restaurant to try out many unique and different pieces of seafood for a cheap price.

Yelp
No trip is complete until a visit to a Kaiten sushi restaurant while in Japan. Musashi Sushi is situated on ground level inside Kyoto Station near the south entrance. We passed by here multiple times while catching a train and whether it be morning or night there was always a line. On our last day in Kyoto we finally had the opportunity to dine here due to feasible crowd traffic. There was a wide selection of sushi on the conveyor belt and off the menu, we ordered mostly raw and cooked shrimp, fatty tuna, and seared salmon. One of my favorites is unagi and luckily we sat near the sushi chef who was preparing fresh unagi and I had first grabs each round. Dishes ranged from ¥146 for regular plates to ¥346 for more deluxe options. We effortlessly chowed down ¥5000 worth of sushi and that price is incomparable back in the States!

Yelp
The selection is good, but compared to other conveyor belt sushi spots we visited in Japan, this place is just ok. The fish was still good, but not as good as other places we tried. We tried blowfish, shrimp, different kinds of tuna and salmon. Nothing really stood out as my favorite. There was a line when we went and were expecting a 40 minute wait, so it was a nice surprise when we were seated for a party of 3 in 20 minutes. The pricing is easy to track (pay attention to the decor on the plates and match it up to the pricing on the wall). Another tip is organizing your stack of used plates based on the plate style, it makes it easier for you and the staff to tally up your bill. The pricing is good and I liked how you could make and refill your own tea, but other than that, I'd pass on this place and search for another spot.

Yelp
You must experience a sushi belt restaurant while in Japan. I don't think this is your best option. It is located at Kyoto train Station Terminal. Tienen que experimentar un "sushi belt" restaurante cuando visiten Japón. Pero no creo que esta sea tu mejor opción. Está en la terminal de trenes de Kyoto.

Yelp
The service was very impatient and they pretty ran out all the stuff you want to eat. Overall bad dining experience, feeling being pushed for ordering and eating, the plates were not very cleaned, which had dirty dots and finger prints on them. Raw fish is at most the average quality. The only advantage of this place is convenience, right next to Kyoto station.

Yelp
Great quality nigiri for cheap! The line to get in was a bit painful at 7pm on a Tuesday (30-45 min), but it was still worth it. There must have been about 40 chairs along the belt, and the waitress did a good job moving the line along. Speaking of, the food on the belt was really well organized as well, and there were description cards in front of sets of the same dish. We also never had to worry about missing out since the selections got replaced fast and the belt moved at a good speed. There was uni (sea urchin), lobster salad, raw and cooked shrimp, octopus, two different types of eel, scallops, roe, and a lot of different fish selections. All fish were pretty fresh, delicious and a decent size over the rice. You also got cups with optional green tea and refillable hot water at your station. I'm a huge fan.

Yelp
Good spot for kaiten-zushi! It's attached to the station by the JR exit. Price was reasonable, the quality was very good- fresh plump fish, sweet shellfish, and variety was great! Interesting concept where some plates had wasabi, and some did not. I ordered miso soup separately and it was a nice big bowl.

Yelp
Looking for some good sushi while here in Kyoto? Look no further because this gem here is located at the Kyoto station shopping pavilion so it's literally a minutes walk after getting off the Shinkansen. It's a sushi conveyer belt type of dining, but it is to a whole 'nother level, well in comparison to what I'm normally used to in Hawaii. Fish tastes fresh and is really good quality and the price is more than reasonable. ¥146 for majority of the sushi and ¥346 for the more expensive cuts. Totally worth it! They have a wide selection of fish and seafood: king crab, uni, blue fin, maguro (fatty tuna), fatty salmon, mackerel. Oh and they had horse meat too! (?!?!) crazy. The only unfavorable experience I had was from the tuna maki. The wasabi on it was WAY too overpowering and really burned my throat and simultaneously cleared my sinuses. Yeah *not a fan of wasabi but I had to just keep swallowing because I did not want to disrespect the 5, like legit, sushi chefs in front of me. The restaurant is fairly small and it does attract a lot of people, but the wait for us only took about 15 minutes. Workers there were pretty attentive and understood some English. The coolest thing I saw was the hot water dispenser/faucet looking thing that allowed you to make your own green tea. Oh and another tip: for those who do not like wasabi, there's a little note on the menu that tells you which plates on the belt has wasabi and which ones are regular. I believe it's the blue one that has wasabi. Overall, I will definitely come back here when I come back to visit Kyoto. I had the best conveyor belt sushi experience ever here in Kyoto and I expected no less.

Yelp
Absolutely insane! Found this on Yelp - very close to our hotel, the Kyoto Tower. I've had conveyer belt sushi before, but this was like no other. About a 20min wait to be seated, but well worth it. Fantastic assortment of goodies endlessly rolling by. Some sushi standards and a lot of unique dishes too. Everything clearly labeled and so fresh tasting. Why not try it all? Average price per plate ~ $1.50. Compare that to $5-$6 in California. Several chefs all working together and placing dishes in different spots on the belt - it really doesn't matter where you sit. My 13 year-old and I stacked up 33 plates between the 2 of us. A sushi lover's dream...

Yelp
Nice fresh sushi served on a conveyor belt. Little bit of a wait since we went dinner time. Once we got in it was sushi fest since the belt fills up quick because the chefs are constantly making food. It had a good variety of fish such as arkshell, unagi, toro, salmon, and horse mackerel. Overall everything was delicious. The plates are all coloured based on pricing. Good food for good price. Explore and savour!!

Yelp
The sushi in Kyoto is not as fresh as Tokyo apparently, but I was willing to try it here. The fish was just ok to me, definitely better in Tokyo. It is suuuper cheap though at 146¥/plate or 346¥ for the more expensive tunas. We tried different salmons, tunas (fav), tuna roll, shrimps, and scallop (good size). I thought the wasabi here was unusually strong though so I had to remove some since my hubby wanted the plates with wasabi. It kind of killed the experience for me. We came around 615p on a Sunday and there was a decent line already forming. We waited about 25-30 minutes so not too bad. The sushi here is not that good, but I think it gets crowded because it's conveniently located in the station. It's on the street level on the south side of Kyoto JR station near the lockers, mcdonalds, and buses. Visa accepted!

Yelp
My family is about to take travel out to Japan and as I was giving my recommendations of must try's, I was reminded that I never got to review this place. This was seriously one of the best conveyor belt sushi joints that I've ever been to. I was a little hesitant to eat here at first, as I've had the conveyor belt sushi's in Tokyo.. and was extremely disappointed, but this place was the complete opposite. The sushi was delicious, obviously you can't compare the quality to a sushi restaurant, but for a conveyor belt sushi joint it's great. The service was great, and the experience was so much fun. Be prepared for a line, but the wait is definitely worth it.

Yelp
First of all, this place is so hard to find. We came from the opposite entrance and took us forever to find this place. Once we got there, we had to wait for about 5 mins. My boyfriend and I were already starving before getting there, so once we got seated, we just started taking plates off the belt. The quality of the fish is decent, not as good as the quality of the fish you can get from the Tokyo fish market. The chefs put out new dishes regularly so everything is fresh. This place is not very noisy and it's great for a quick bite.

Yelp
Sushi Train in Japan = Tick! Extremely Well Priced = Tick! Conveniently Located = Tick! Awesome Japanese Experience = Huge Tick! I love this place. It's such a brilliant staple whenever I find myself in Kyoto. A chain, with several locations scattered about the city, this particular branch is located conveniently inside the lower concourse of Kyoto Station. Sushi no Musashi is quick, easy & damn well tasty. No need for complicated menu, language barrier ordering here, their sushi train is as convenient as it comes. Grab-Eat-&-Go. With an open kitchen, the food is churned out with lightening speed, ensuring consistently fresh sushi. With lots of options, it's a great opportunity to perhaps break-out, be adventurous & try a few things that maybe you wouldn't normally. Offering bottomless Green Tea on tap & friendly staff, I absolutely love this place!

Yelp
Delicious sushi in the most convenient location in Kyoto station. We came here and the sushi was fresh and the service was fast. We were seated right away. And the sushi was absolutely amazing. We got 18 plates between the two of us!! The price was great too- it was about $1.60 each plate. I would highly recommend.

Yelp
Yeeeeeeees. I was so hungry after arriving to Kyoto since I didn't have breakfast and got on the train from Tokyo. Got on yelp and found this gem of a place! Though... Not much a fan of their horse meat dish. Blegh

Yelp
In Yelp we trust. I didn't hear about this conveyer belt sushi restaurant from anyone until I did a little Yelp research and bookmarked it prior to my Japan trip. I located the spot at Kyoto Station for dinner and noticed the line queue out the door and thought "Must be good!" I'd say I waited patiently in line for about 20 minutes. Luckily I was eating solo this time so I didn't have to wait any longer for an open seat. But trust me, the wait is worth it and there's always a reason why restaurants like these have lines out the door! Being from Hawaii, our comparable conveyor belt sushi restaurants are Genki Sushi, KuruKuru, Sushi Bay...and none of them hold a candle to this place by a long shot. Like most conveyor belt sushi restaurants in Japan, Sushi no Musashi offers self-serve hot green tea, wasabi, soy sauce/ponzu, and ginger condiments at your station. They have a wide variety of sushi prepared delicately by the chefs that work efficiently at filling the conveyor belt for all the hungry patrons (you can also order a la carte from the menu as well). The plates are colored according to pricing and I'd say you'll get delicious, great quality sushi at an affordable price with great service to boot. Don't hold back when it comes to trying a little of everything because everything here is delicious! The smoked duck sushi was a real standout IMO, mainly because I've never had duck in sushi form before. The fatty tuna melts in your mouth and is obviously slightly higher in price and comes on the blue/gold swirled plates. I ate a total of 8 plates all by my self (with no regrets). Hands down the best sushi I had on my first trip to Japan. If you happen to come across this place on your travels, don't pass it up! It's true what they say...after tasting sushi in Japan, all other sushi elsewhere will never taste the same.
