When we informed the server of one of our party's gluten-free restrictions, he pondered for a moment and then asked how severe the allergy was. He then recommended we not eat the crab meat, which is very thoughtful. We had a safe experience eating there without any cross contamination issues. Good tasting food!

No frills spot for massive bento boxes. We came on Sunday at 9pm and was able to get seated for 6 people immediately (close at 10pm). I ordered the Supreme Bento Box with chicken teriyaki and upgraded my California roll to spicy salmon for an extra $3. This place always hits the spot with reliably tasty and generous portions. Highly recommend and would come back.

Okay. The restaurant is clean. The food is very fresh but it tastes normal. They take care of customers very well. Whenever you need something there is someone there. They give you miso soup and ice cream on the house, you can choose either green tea flavour or mango, the mango flavour tasted better in my opinion. The food was absolutely fresh. Oh, and when we got there the restaurant was fully packed and we had to wait for like 20 minutes. There is GreenP right in front of it and it is close to the subway station as well. Good vegetarian options. Loves d pan-fried mushrooms.

We got 3 complementary items Miso soup, salad, and ice cream. The sushi was great and the rice was also great. There was also wooden cubes on the wall. I would definitely go back here.

The lunch special was amazing! So worth the money. We sat in a cozy little booth, and had our orders served within minutes. Incredibly fast service. The crab maki was delishhh 👌

I really liked this sushi place, but yesterday I ordered a Spider Roll and was disappointed. They tasted sour and bitter at the same time, and the shrimp showed that they hadn't changed the oil in a long time. Not sure if will order again .

Google
Ordered 2 sets of the “party for 10” platters, and was very satisfied with quality and portions. Staff were very helpful and friendly despite me making this order with only a few hours notice. Everyone at my party enjoyed and we had a lot more food than I expected. Great price, good service, good taste- would highly recommend Sushi on Bloor for your catering needs!

Came for my daughters bday and was super happy. Food was so good especially the grilled beef teriyaki sizzling plate. Tempura and salmon and sashimi all delicious and well priced. I am definitely coming back. Thank you for the wonderful food and service.

Yelp

From classic rolls to unique specialty options, everything is made with care and packed with flavor. The cozy atmosphere is perfect for a casual meal, and the friendly staff provides excellent service. With reasonable prices for the quality and generous portions, Sushi on Bloor is a great value. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or a first-timer, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
I first came here as a high school student years ago and recall enjoying the food and the good value. Many years later, I've returned and to my utter surprise the quality and value are still up to par. We've come back a few times in the last few weeks just because we have enjoyed this affordable meal so much. The chicken katsu comes with excellent and light tempura. The lunch special 2 rolls of futomaki and spicy honour roll is my new go to. As you can see in one of the photos, I ordered it with less rice and the ratio of filling to rice is now perfect. All lunch specials are served with a good serving of salad and miso soup. As of July 2024 the price is an incredible $13.25. Is it the best sushi downtown? Of course not. But for the price it is a quality that cannot be beat, and if the quality was at all poor or not fresh then I wouldn't return regardless of the price. Great, fast service. The tables move fairly quickly and the staff are efficient and friendly.

Yelp
I saw Jennifer's video on Youtube about this place, so when we visited Toronto, we had to make a trip here. We were quickly greeted and seated when we walked in; it was bustling with activity both with employees working quickly and customers eating and talking with enthusiasm. We ordered the Sashimi Gold combo, $28.25, which came with 24 pieces of sashimi and a large bowl of white rice along with miso soup and salad. I would have preferred all fish, but there were 6 pieces of octopus, which made up 1/4 of the platter. I did appreciate the 4 legs of sweet shrimp, and when you counted each leg, I actually got 25 pieces. All the fish was excellent; they were large pieces and thick. My husband got the Supreme Bento box and upgraded to beef teriyaki, $20.25. We appreciated that we were asked how we wanted the beef cooked - medium rare. The sauce was a little thick and thoroughly covered the meat. The food was abundant with the amount of the side dishes including tempura. Service was pleasant; efficient, polite, and with a smile. Parking was a little challenging, but we went around 8:30PM, so we were able to park on Bathhurst (available after 7:00PM). I love that there was sanitizer on every table. The bathrooms only had hand dryers, so I had to touch 2 doors to get out and the railing up the stairs, so they were "dirty" again. 1 star deducted due to my comment about too much octopus and the thick sauce, but also the washrooms being downstairs. I know they can't do anything about this, but I have friends w/disabilities, and that steep stairs might present a challenge. I would definitely return. I even stated that if this was near me, I'd be here all the time.

Yelp
This is a pretty good place to get some sushi at a (relatively) low price, keeping in mind that it can get pretty busy around eating hours. Sushi On Bloor is, indeed, a place on Bloor from which you can order Sushi; but there's a selection of other dishes as well. They make udon noodles, bento boxes, and teriyaki to suit your tastebuds. As for the sushi, you can order the many "super rolls" or choose a combo if you were craving a certain type. Regardless of what you order, you'll get a complimentary bowl of miso soup for your appetizer and a scoop of ice cream (mango or green tea) afterward. What I got was the gold maki set ($18.25), which included 8 tempura shrimp rolls, 6 spicy salmon rolls, and 6 unagi rolls; the latter I was looking forward to the most. It was great quality overall, and you'll definitely have your belly filled up from this. Service is great, and the staff are experts when it comes to handling larger groups. Especially when it was busy, we didn't have to wait long to get our orders. There's a 20% "service fee", but you fortunately don't have to pay any tip on top of that. Has my recommendation.

Yelp
Where to begin... I've been to Sushi on Bloor many times, however, the last time I had been was pre-COVID. Unsure if the quality would still hold up after a few years, I decided to try it out with my wife. To say the food was delicious would be an understatement. I ordered the Salmon Lover plate, which came with 6 pieces of salmon, 4 pieces of salmon nigiri and 4 pieces of salmon sashimi, and my wife ordered the Makimono Set, which came with 8 pieces of California Roll, 6 pieces of salmon maki and 6 pieces of spicy tuna maki. We both shared from each others plates so as to try out the different types of sushi, and by the end, we were two happy people with full stomachs. The food was very good, as always. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, cozy and quiet. The servers were also very kind, answering any questions we had and also re-filling our tea glasses whenever they were getting close to becoming empty. We were also provided with some salad and miso soup before we began our meal, which was greatly appreciated! At the end, we were also offered free ice cream, either mango or green tea. My wife and I both ended up choosing the mango ice cream, and all I can say is wow! The texture, taste and creaminess were just perfect. Next time I come to visit, I'll be getting myself some more ice cream!

Yelp
Our favourite go to sushi spot! I've been going to this spot since high-school, that's over 10 years now. Everything has been consistent, my favourite sushi spot in Toronto for good quality and good value sushi. Pictured here we have three lunch specials, every lunch special comes with a salad and a soup. It's a really good value, the lunch special is also available for the weekends too. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Always a good choice. Been going here for years and food is always fresh. Staff is always very nice. We always do take out and it is usually very quick.

Yelp
I got what was my third really bad order. So while it can be really good. Consider me staying away for now. This was my go-to sushi spot. I liked it. So I'm upset. I'm fine with one order being bad from a place I love or if it's something silly like forgetting sauce where I can politely remind them... but my order across the board was disappointing. When it gets to two bad orders I consider coming back the equivalent of Russian roulette. The highlights of the 3 bad orders were as follows: 1. The Salmon was weirdly cut or something because it was tough and some of the pieces had a bone in them that I had to spit out. 2. The avocado in the sushi rolls was rock-hard. 3. The tamago rolls had actual frozen egg. The egg was literally still frozen. It wasn't properly defrosted. I think I've had it.

Yelp
This is a busy sushi shop. Very good values for the amount of good quality food. We ordered Ikayaki for appetizer, Tempura and sushi/sashimi combo dinners. The Tempura was excellent! Sushi/sashimi were tasty but with limited variety. We were totally stuffed!

Yelp
If you ask me where my favourite sushi place is - it is Sushi on Bloor! Make sure to call ahead as there is usually a line up, the staff are incredibly nice. The food here is reasonably price especially now with everything going up because of inflation. But the portions are very generous and they just seem to know how to make good classic sushi. The crunchy roll and soft shell crab is a must! Plus they also have complimentary ice cream at the end of your meal which is a plus!

Yelp
Good food but bad service!!!! The manager is really bad when customers gave her a low tips. We're not richhhhh!!!! How much tips do you want??? 1million or billion$$$???

Yelp
Fresh, delicious, and not pricy, recommended Don't waste your time searching for good sushi JUST go there /order on the phone and go for puck up. Btw there is free parking at the rear.

Yelp
I came here at 12 pm, near when they opened. I was awkwardly trying to look at the menu that was semi-taped on the window which was falling... So a staff member came up and re-taped it mid-lool. I noticed that they had a lunch special where you can choose two rolls, one from each group, for $9.xx plus tax. I went in to find that you only have a small booth space to order and pickup the food. It took quite a while before someone came to acknowledge me and take my order. I even tried calling in and no one picked up. When I finally did place my order, I was told it would take 20 mins to prepare my two lunch specials (wow, but they did seem to have a lot of other takeout orders to prepare, I'm guessing people called them in). I took a walk around the neighborhood and returned - food was ready in about 25 mins total. The food quality is not the most impressive but I really liked the portions. The salad was packed and the rolls themselves were quite big with a nice fish-to-rice ratio. Everything tasted quite fresh and I was content with the taste. Specifically, I got the spicy honor roll + spicy salmon maki. I just wish they put more spicy mayo in the spicy salmon maki as that was slightly lacking. Follow me on Instagram @oh.snap.vonny for more food reviews and photos!

Yelp
Came back again for dinner and ordered some sashimi and rolls. The prices are really unbeatable and the sashimi was massive--1 piece of sashimi was definitely equivalent to 2 pieces of sashimi. It gets pretty crowded at dinner, so call ahead for a reservation or come a bit earlier/later than the dinner wave. Will definitely be coming back again!

Yelp
Decent place! Great and super filling lunch specials. Their rolls are pretty thick and I was shocked at how big even the spicy salmon make was. Will definitely go back since I work in the area! :) they have both roll combos or hot food combos. The roll combos usually come w a special roll (like crunchy roll, dynamite roll, etc) and one basic maki roll. I hope they don't change! Lunch specials come with a soup and salad.

Yelp
We had a disappointing dinner here tonight. Wait staff was great, brought us basic miso soup and water while we looked at the menu. The soup was only ok. We ordered a number of appetizers and some sushi. The sushi came before any of the appetizers. The sushi rice wasn't great, tended to fall apart. I'm not sure if this was because it was poorly pressed when making the sushi or if it wasn't cooked correctly. The of the rice was okay. All the cuts of fish were very thin, taste was good. The California rolls were heavy on the avocado and not well formed, but again, they tasted okay. The gyoza was small, clearly store bought, and mediocre in taste. The tempura had a very thin layer of batter and did not have a great crunch, taste was okay. We tried their Rock and Roll (deep fried hamachi roll) and it was bad, very fishy tasting, plus the fish was overcooked and dry. We left most of this one untouched. Tamago was not prepared well visually , according to the kids it was so so. We also tried the Urajiro (Japanese mushrooms stuffed with minced shrimp) appetizer and it was completely forgettable. Looked like it was dipped in tempura batter, fried, and cut into slices. It was served with a warm tempura sauce. Little taste to it, not worth being on the menu. With all the choices of restaurants on Bloor in this area we will not be going back there again. I will add that the place was crowded, and people were waiting to be seated, but this is not a good sushi place.

Yelp
I have been coming to Sushi on Bloor for over 10 years! I saw when they opened the second floor and my friends came so often at one point they started getting recognised by the owner when they visited. For the price in toronto, this is my favourite sushi place. We'll drive all the way from North Scarborough to eat here if we have the time. The menu has a great option of Maki, hand rolls and sashimi. They also have some other great Japanese dishes too. I've been a lot, and made a lot of well received recommendations from my friends - so here's some of my recommendations.. and then I guess we're friends. That's how it works, right? Sushi Pizza - really generous portion of salmon sashimi on top - perfectly fried rice cake underneath. Seaweed Salad - I have been spoiled by their style - everywhere else I go it lacks the crunch or the seasoning and flavour. Generous portion of roe on top. Sweet Potato Tempura - comes with the light soy sauce and is my fav tempura there. Always hot and flaky. Even 30 mins later when the humidity comes out a bit and gets less crunchy it still tastes so good. Negima Yaki - I haven't seen this anywhere else, but this is a high recommendation. Thinly sliced beef wrapped around green onion like a maki roll and then covered in their tasty teriyaki sauce. Super good. Ikayaki - (grilled squid with fresh ginger) Every kid I've been with LOVES this dish... even though it's got tentacles! Nice crunch on the outside from the grill but nowhere close to the rubbery overcookedness. All their rolls are great but my favourite is the spicy scallop. The portions are on the large side and the flavours are super fresh and juicy when expected. Super consistent and well balanced. I've ordered their lunch bento boxes - great value. I've had their dinners (terriyaki, katsu, udon) all well done. I have not had a miss here. A local legend for our crew. Hope you are able to enjoy it soon.

Yelp

Yelp
Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday but he didn't make reservations so although it was going to be a bit of a wait the server asked us to wait outside as the entrance wasn't very big to fit all of us. Waiting outside I got to see a really nice graffiti wall beside the restaurant which was cool. The wait wasn't that long as it only took 15 minutes I made it in time for the lunch special as it was 3 pm by the time we seated and the lunch special sushi included a choice from a list of A and B kinds of rolls. I got the salmon roll and the spicy honour roll, it wasn't mentioned on the menu but my friend managed to order two rolls from the B list which would've been good. The rolls were thick but not evenly cut. Overall the taste was ok and for its price pretty worth it. The appetizers my friend ordered was pretty large as well. It is an ok sushi place and although it wasn't all you can eat I rounded up pretty full with just the lunch special

Yelp
Need that sushi fix but don't want to pay a fortune? Sushi on Bloor is a nice little a la Carte that is good value for the amount of food you're getting. I do have to say that it's not the best sushi spot in the area but for a quick late night meal. You won't be disappointed. Came by on a Tuesday evening and it was packed!! We had a fairly large group but was seated promptly in the back. I ordered the salmon lover, salmon dragon, and crunchy role. The size of each role was pretty big and ended up being too much food and split the rest of it to the others at the table. Salmon was good although could be sliced a little thinner. It was a mouthful for sure. The crunchy roll was not very crunchy but did have good flavour. Wouldn't say it was the favourite of the bunch. I would say that the salmon lover would be really good value for the amount of stuff you're getting. That alone would be good to serve two people.

Yelp
I don't get the hype for this place. The food is terrible. There's nothing I hate more than bland, warm sushi, overloaded with rice. Sushi On Bloor ticks off all of the above. We paid extra to substitute for spicy salmon maki, which ended up with a smidge of spicy mayo on the salmon. You could've even taste a difference. Whereas, compared to any other sushi resto, there's enough spicy mayo where you can visually tell it's a spicy roll. Everything roll we ordered, arrived warm. Warm fish, warm rice and a 2:1 rice to fish ratio. Some maki rolls were even worse, where the unagi would be 1/3 to the rice. There were flies everywhere and the tables reeked of dirty mop water. The meal was regretful. Would not recommend.
google avatar

Martin L.

Yelp
Service was great and quick. Sushi lover was amazing - 14 pieces total, with 4 very generous pieces of sashimi and nigiri. The California roll was also delicious, with generous portions of avocado and salmon. Salad and ice cream (mango or green tea) was included as well without costing extra. I was extremely impressed, and will definitely be returning! Lots of people ordered takeout and there was a line-up even as we left.
google avatar

Yelp
A very simple place to get your sushi fix. Friendly staff hustling in a busy eatery. My daughter loves sushi and has taught me to love it too. We popped in last night for a quick dinner before another appointment, and enjoyed miso soup salmon/ veggie rolls and veggie Bento box. It's Nothing fancy, but solid sushi joint at a fair price
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Amazing! Great food at a great price. Seriously, no complaints. For ~$8.50 during lunch time, you can get a filling meal. They have bento boxes, sushi roll combos, curry and rice, chicken katsu and rice, and other combinations of items for around this price during their lunch period. Good. Stuff. Most of the combos come with miso soup and a salad - these are good too and taste fine. Because of the good lunch prices, it gets really crowded here. Try and come early to beat the lunch rush or you'll end up waiting in line for about 10-15 minutes.
google avatar

Grace L.

Yelp
Meh. Mediocre quality. Seemed like a popular place with lots of people getting take out but I wouldn't order from here again. Got the dinner for two. You get a lot for 50$ but it was filling but about the same as you would get at a supermarket. Sorry :(
google avatar

Yelp
I'm a regular customer at Sushi on Bloor. I usually come here for their chicken bento box dinner or lunch specials. Their prices have increased over time. I got the lunch special (dynamite roll and salmon maki). Their sushi pieces are HUGE - much larger compared to other places. The salmon maki tastes fresh and the shrimp tempura in the dynamite roll tastes a bit hard). I decided to try out the chicken katsu udon lunch special today. It tasted alright. Too bad the udon has no vegetables in it. However, they give a good portion of katsu. FYI: there's usually a line up for dinner, so come early or come at a non busy time! They also give ice cream on the house for dinner.
google avatar

Kathy L.

Yelp
Overrated and overhyped. Walking past this store, I normally see a long line of people waiting to be seated so I always assumed that the sushi here must be beyond stellar. I came here once for lunch and got the lunch special which ended up being the Dynamite Roll and Salmon Maki with Soup and Salad on the end. The miso soup tasted very standard and the salad was quite delightful. However, the Maki rolls were disgusting. There was zero flavour and it was extremely chewy and hard. I felt very uncomfortable eating the Maki rolls. The Dynamite Rolls weren't too bad, but they were also very plain. Dipping the rolls in soy sauce didn't make much of a difference. Definitely will not be coming back in the future and will save my money for better sushi.

Polina O.

Yelp
Quality of the rolls is mediocre, but the price is low, so this might work for someone looking for budget options

the best sushi in town ! cost effective and very tasty with very good service - highly recommended

Yelp
Sushi On Bloor undoubtably has delicious sushi and an array of other food. As someone who has a mild shellfish allergy this may not be the best restaurant safety wise. I went with the beef sukiyaki which was stunning and delicious. When I asked the waitress about what was in it she was pretty vague but it turned out well! My partner got the sushi and had no complaints :) Overall, the food was delicious and it was an enjoyable meal. They service is often rushed but it is a popular joint so I don't blame them!
google avatar

Carly M.

Yelp
This is one of my go-to sushi places in the Annex. Portions are substantial, prices are incredibly fair, and they get the food out to you quickly! The ambiance of the restaurant is like any other sushi restaurant in the area - nothing overly memorable but you don't come to Sushi in Bloor for that! I have tried many things of their menu and all are good portions and fair price: for appetizers, seaweed salad is a must. Mains: salmon or chicken teriyaki bento box; maki: dynamite roll, rainbow dragon roll, spicy tuna or salmon (you can ask for it crunchy and they'll at tempura bits), university roll, and honour roll are all good; their udon is also delicious. You'll need a reservation if you're planning on going between 6-8 PM any day of the week, unless you don't mind waiting 15-30 minutes. Japan Sushi and One Generation sushi nearby are comparable go-tos!
google avatar

Daphne L.

Yelp
Stopped by here around 10pm on a Wednesday and the place was packed! We ordered 3 sushi rolls and a tempura udon and the total was around $36 after tips. When we were seated, we were immediately offered complimentary miso soup as well as ice cream at the end of the meal. The sushi rolls were quite big and filled with lots of fish, but they weren't the most flavourful. The tempura udon was around $9.25 and came with a huge plate of tempura - a lot more than other shops. The udon came about 5-10 minutes before the tempura did (probably because the restaurant was super busy). Overall I was very satisfied with the meal and a great deal for the price! The menu has a LOT of options and a huge selection of rolls and hot food items. Definitely will come back when I'm in the area!
google avatar

Elaine O.

Yelp
If you're in the area, this is a good place to check out for a quick sushi fix! Went here around dinner time with a group of six, since we were looking for sushi. Although the place was busy, we were still quickly seated and the servers took our orders right away. Went with their bento boxes which I think were pretty cheap for what it comes with: miso soup, salad, vegetable tempura, six rolls and choice of either chicken terikyaki or grilled salmon (10-12 dollars). They also gave a complimentary ice cream for dessert. Because it was busy though, it was hard to get ahold of our server, to ask for things like a refill on tea. Other than that, if you're in the mood for sushi for cheap, this is an option to try!

Chloe C.

Yelp
Cozy down-to-earth spot with great lunch deals. I got the sushi lunch set and chose spicy salmon and futomaki, which came with salad and miso soup. I was expecting decent quality for the extremely affordable price and it totally exceeded my expectations. I didn't order from the main menu but from what I saw, they have an extensive selection.

J H.

Yelp
I have been going here for over 10yrs and it is still one of my favourite sushi places in the area. Food is reasonably priced and quality is always good and consistent. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Sushi on bloor has been on the Bloor Street for many years. There are always lineup (10min to 50min). Sushi comes quickly. Taste ok. Given its price and size, 4 stars for friend gathering.

Shaz W.

Yelp
I have been to Sushi on Bloor many times, however, tonight was my last time. I am still shaking from the service I received. While I was eating my salmon maki, I actually had to spit it out as it smelled like vomit. I asked my son to smell it as well and we both smelled it several times and, sure enough, it smelled like vomit. Being regular sushi lovers, we know how salmon should smell (or not smell!) and taste. I politely informed the waiter that my piece didn't smell right and they called another and another waiter as I explained. The chef then came out and very rudely told me that "I cut it myself and there's nothing wrong with him". I offered for him to smell it and he refused. He went back to the kitchen. The waiter offered to bring me another roll and we waited and waited. The chef then ordered them not to give us another roll and he came back out and was very rude again. He then walked back to the kitchen while glaring at me the entire time. They tried to bring me the bill and I told them that this was unacceptable, the way they treated us and that the roll did not smell good. They ended up giving us a 10% discount, but did so with such contempt. I have never experienced such horrible customer service...and from multiple staff at once. Just horrific.

Yelp
If I am craving sushi for lunch, Sushi on Bloor is my go-to restaurant. At 6.99 for their lunch special, it's hard to say no! They offer hot meals, bento boxes and sushi combos. I always order the S2 sushi combo - it comes with dynamite and avocado roll. Every lunch special comes with salad and miso soup so it ends up becoming quite filling. Back in the day I used to love Sushi on Bloor, day and night, but now I think it's simply a good cheap spot for your sushi craving at lunch.

Yelp
Amazing sushi at even more amazing prices- this is a restaurant I come back to time and time again. This time, my boyfriend and I took advantage of their lunch special, each ordering a bento box (Chicken Katsu and Chicken Teriyaki respectively), as well as a sushi combo with the Dynamite Roll and Unagi (eel) Maki to share. The bento box comes with Miso soup, a salad, tempura, and seasonal fruit. You really can't go wrong with a bento box. For the sushi, the avocado and seafood was fresh and the ratio to rice was quite decent, although I would really like to see more Unagi in my roll. Our meal came up to less that $30, with tip. Bless the Sushi on Bloor gods for helping many a college student out!

Yelp
I got the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box and it was decent (teriyaki sauce was too salty) but i didn't like their sushi. The sushi rolls had way too much rice in them and not enough filling/fish.

Carrie F.

Yelp
Good sushi place on Bloor West, conveniently located with tasty, affordable sushi. The lunch specials were my go-to but have been going up in price over the years, making it not really worth getting as takeout anymore. The tea is complimentary and very delicious, almost like a roasted rice green tea?? Atmosphere is nothing special and it's always pretty busy, though we didn't have to wait. We ordered the dynamite rolls and crispy salmon, both were good and would recommend. The crab rolls were just okay.

Yelp
This is that sushi place that actually makes it onto your contact list. This is that sushi place you crave for after travelling for weeks in Europe. This is that sushi place you always end up going to when you can't decide where to eat. Always great quality food, amazing price, prompt service. Lunch special is fantastic! Free ice cream and miso soup during dinner. This is the sushi place I trust to not get sick in because of its daily high volume.

Yelp
Service: Fast, friendly and efficient. Food: Subpar. This is an a la carte sushi restaurant with worse food then an all you can eat. The sashimi was alright, the cuts of fish were way too big instead of it being thinly sliced. The tuna has been previously frozen and you can taste it. The rainbow roll was good but nothing spectacular. Great presentation on the dishes though. Overall, I wouldn't repeat this place. I'd rather pay the same for a better quality all you can eat or a pay a little extra for quality sushi.

Yelp
I don't usually make reviews but here we are. So I went to sushi on bloor for an attempt to get food and wow. People weren't joking when they said it was cheap. I ordered 4pc salmon sashimi and chicken katsu udon (right at last call ). The food came quick and the portion sizes surprised me. The salmon was generously big (there were blood veins but upon research, there's no harm & it was last call) and the udon was a nice hefty bowl. The katsu was set aside but the amount of chicken was outstanding. Even katsu places don't even give you that much. Overall, I've never been more impressed and this probably changes the game for my ayce lifestyle. I also left a 30% tip since I walked in 20 mins til closing and it was cheap

Yelp
So we had ordered for take out. First I went to pick up the food he said we didn't order and they don't have it. After waiting they had put in the wrong number to look up. Fair mis communication as I can hear others walking in and they couldn't understand also fair cause masks are on. But damn ever since last night me and my partner have been throwing up and been on throne at least 5 times within 12hours. Our order was over $80 and we had no choice but to throw out the food. Very disappointed and definitely not going there again. Be aware please!!!

Yelp
TL:DR If you want a sushi place that's a bang for your buck and that will literally fill you up definitely come here I stumbled upon this gem when I was living in the area and I deadass ate here 3 times in one week. I've brought my friends and family here, this is pretty much the only sushi place I go to in Toronto now Portion size - H U G E - honestly, the rolls are the biggest I've seen in a while and when I order they never overpack it with rice - the udon portion is huge (i usually get the tempura udon and for like 10$ roughly you get a huge bowl of udon and 2 of every tempura....theres like 10 pieces in total) - bento boxes are huge - like why are you still reading this just go tbh service - they come to refill your tea without even asking and the waitresses are Q U I C K - they always offer you free ice cream in the end which is just really cute Its pretty busy so be ready to wait for a little during dinner rush especially. (Not a long wait the max I've waited was probably like 10 mins)

Yelp
We came here expecting decent sushi at great prices but unfortunately left disappointed. The value is extremely fair here and the service was good. No complaints whatsoever but we didn't find the sushi tasty and it was comparable to AYCE places (which is nothing special). We ordered three rolls and a tempura appetizer ($6 for three shrimp and 7 vegetables is indeed a pretty good deal). There was a tad too much rice on the rolls and I didn't find the rice to be sweet enough. It just lacked the quality sushi taste. They were quiet liberal on the raw fish which is a plus. We had good service, the waiters refilled our tea quite often and service was prompt, we sat down to salad and miso soup within minutes. We didn't feel like eating one of the rolls (after eating one roll) and was wondering if they could take it back and exclude it from the bill. There was no problem whatsoever, and we really appreciated that from them. If you're looking for some cheap sushi/food, this place is great but just don't expect too much as we did.

Yelp
This is my favourite place to get sushi in Toronto. I've been coming here for almost 10 years (yikes) and I just can't get enough of their lunch special. For $6.99, you get a miso soup, salad, and two delicious rolls (14 pieces) of your choosing. The portion sizes are huge and the sushi is so fresh it just melts in your mouth (omg, I want some right now). Super filling and great value for money! Service here is not particularly friendly, but the staff is typically pretty efficient and attentive enough that you always have a cup full of green tea (on the house). If you're here during dinner time, make sure to ask for a free scoop of ice cream (red bean, mango, or matcha green tea flavour). It's included with most orders and makes for a nice way to finish a meal. Also, this place gets super busy during lunch hour so be prepared to wait in line! TL;DR: I love this place. My only complaint is that they're not located closer to me.
