I really loved the wagyu & foie gras sushi — it was so good that I ordered four of them 🤤🍣. The Hinata drink was super refreshing too. I’ll definitely be back for the amazingly fresh fish and seafood here! Fresh fish + seafood here = unbeatable.. I could felt the souls in their tempura fish …(._.)…

10/10 for the wholesome experience, the most delicious food (best sashimi we ever had in Brisbane, hands down) and for the loveliest and genuine staff for their impeccable customer service throughout the night. We were well looked after, and it’s a memorable birthday experience which I will remember for a long, long time. 🙏🏼 Thank you to everyone in the team (shoutout especially to Timothy!) for looking after us and for the wonderful dining experience. From today onwards, we will be finding every reason and excuse to come back here with friends to celebrate every joy in our lives 🤣🫶🏼 Most highly recommend to every foodie to visit Sushi Room and enjoy the experience dining here. So worth it. 🍣🥰

We dined in the newly renovated bar area of Sushi Room & it was funky! The DJ's music was perfect. Plenty of heaters for outdoor seating. We ordered: Edamame, Miso Soup, Gazander Oysters (incredible), Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice (the best dish of the night), Tempura Zucchini Flowers & Soft Shell Crab, Agedashi Tofu, Aburi Set (6 pieces), Wagyu Sirloin (incredible, highly recommend). Dessert was Miso Dolce (unique, my fave) & a Sesame Brulee (also delish). For drinks we tried Plum Wine & some Sake. The Sake selection was great but I can't recall the exact one we drank. It was delicate - very nice. Plenty of food options for vegetarian / vegans too! If you're going to dine with more than 2 people, be sure to get 2 tables (bar area) or a full table/booth in the restaurant, so all the dishes can fit.

I had very high expectations for Sushi Room because of all the stellar reviews. First of all, the service was impeccable, the staff were attentive, polite and professional throughout our visit. We ordered the $65 lunch set with wagyu sirloin. While it delivered the level of quality you’d expect at this price point, there were a few details I couldn’t help but notice: 1. The soy sauce tasted like a standard soy sauce without any special touch or customisation. 2. The nigiri was served too cold, both the rice and the fish. One piece in particular felt as if it had just come straight from the fridge. 3. The presentation of the steak was inconsistent between the two plates. Not only the plating looked quite different, my portion was much fattier than my partner’s, almost as if they were different cuts. 4. I ordered a serve of rice to go with the steak, expecting plain steamed rice. Instead, I was served warm vinegared sushi rice, which didn’t quite pair as well with the steak. Overall, it was a good lunch and reasonably priced. However, for the same price point, or with a small step up in cost, I think there are better options offering higher quality.

Sushi Room offers one of the best omakase experiences in Brisbane. The dishes were crafted with incredible care, and the dessert — ice cream with caviar — was such a surprise but worked beautifully. The price is on the higher side, but absolutely worth it for the quality. The atmosphere is a little noisier than a traditional omakase since the omakase counter isn’t separated from regular dining, but it’s still very enjoyable. The only real downside was parking — the Callie Hotel only validated 2 hours, while the omakase itself runs for about 2, meaning you’ll likely need to pay extra. Overall, an exceptional dining experience I’d highly recommend.

From the moment we walk in, Steve and the staff create such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Shimpei's culinary skills are beyond exceptional; every dish is a masterpiece, perfectly presented and bursting with authentic flavours. We cannot recommend the Sushi Room highly enough and always look forward to our next visit.

Sushi Room provides a classy dining experience with a great atmosphere. The food is of a high standard and very reasonably priced for such quality. The staff are friendly and professional. In particular, the British female manager was an absolute delight. She took care of us, checking in several times, ensuring our night ran smoothly. This dining experience is definitely worth it
